Because you can not create gold. As you can with diamonds and other stuff. All gold on earth was maid long time ago with big temperatures and massive pressure when earth was forming. And thats it. All other things can be created like cryptocurrencies example. So thats why is gold always on top! And will be in my opinion, and it should be.
Actually gold was not created on Earth through high temperatures and pressures. It was actually created in the center of a star when it went supernova. so we must assume that in the other solar system there is plenty of gold? when we get there one day, gold value will most likely to be dumped But when that happends you already died..Well, not necessarily. What if one day a big meteorite made of pure gold will hit the earth? But seriuosly gold is already losing its value. It's just the matter of time for people to realize that wearing golden watches or other golden jewelries is OUT. If gold will be valued only as precious metal and not as jewelry its price will drop dramatically.

Gambling is so addicting because you get that feeling when you win a lot of money, its a great feeling and you want this again and again. And its also that its very enjoying in my opinion.
And not only that. When you are about to bet a big amount you have an adrenaline rush to which many people are addicted, that's why they are doing Bungee jumping or even going to war.

Just doubled my money , On sports betting Nishikori vs Isner .. great match .. great odds,, Great win for me . ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Congrats! That's how you make money with gambling. That's a nice example. If you are not a gambling addict you may just buy something nice with your win money and celebrate the win with your friends and/or your family. Have a good time! / don't gamble away your win ) /

Let's say a young teenager is given some coming-of-age money from their family, and is interested in growing that money through Bitcoin. Without encouraging him/her to invest in risky strategies, what are some lower risk methods of growing a Bitcoin portfolio with a hypothetical gift of $1K?
I would recommend the teen to buy Bitcoin with $1K, but I wouldn't recommend to invest it anywere. It is too risky, especially for a teen. Just hold your coins and you'll have more than $20k in ten years.

For fiat system we already have denomination of different ranks like: millionaire, billionaire ,etc.. So I decided to make a similar ranking system for bitcoin based on how much you own. So here it is:
RANK LEVEL 7:
1,000,000.00000000 BTC ≥ God of Bitcoin (Reserved for Satoshi, unless there is another person this rich)
RANK LEVEL 6:
500,000.00000000 BTC ≥ Legend of Bitcoin
100,000.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Elite
10,000.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Oligarch
RANK LEVEL 5:
5,000.00000000 BTC ≥ Champion of Bitcoin
1,000.00000000 BTC ≥ Hero of Bitcoin

RANK LEVEL 4:
100.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Senior
50.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Expert User
20.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Specialist
RANK LEVEL 3:
10.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Advanced User
5.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Skilled User
2.00000000 BTC ≥ Bitcoin Adept User
RANK LEVEL 2:

0.00500000 BTC ≥ Bitcointalk Signature Novice
0.00200000 BTC ≥ Faucet Bot Script User
0.00050000 BTC ≥ Faucet Addict Slave
0.00010000 BTC ≥ Faucet Expert
0.00001000 BTC ≥ Faucet Novice
0.00000100 BTC ≥ Faucet Starter
0.00000000 BTC = Fiat Worshipper
Let me hear your ideas what other titles and rank names can we add for different levels of ownership!
I like your ranking system and the names for the owners of respective parts of Bitcoin. I am a Bitcoin Junior btw and I've been Faucet Addict Slave for some time too. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) This is the funniest name IMO: 0.00000000 BTC = Fiat Worshipper

It happened just recently and was posted by hui in PD thread. It's not really an insane or biggest win ever but it's something worth mentioning. I still didn't get an answer from him how many rolls he made before hitting a winning roll. cheers When I was reading the OP I recalled hui too. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Actually he has won many times betting with 0.01% winning chance but the initial bets were smaller. Unfortunately he lost a lot in the past month and now his profit is negative and it is over -30 BTC. He is very nice person btw and I wish him best of luck in the future.

Before creating Bitcoin and other altcoins, criminals and terrorists used fiat and cash for illegal activities , and they still using it till now as noticed in news. So accusing only Bitcoin for this purpose coulden't be true, in my opinion.
I agree. Criminals are also using many other things: guns, iphones, fiat, cars etc. We can't ban everything criminals are using. The best way to deal with it IMO is just ignoring what criminals are using.

More advantages of bitcoins over cash are : - you don’t have to pay taxes on them -they can't be easily stolen -no paperwork -irreversible transactions
Sometimes they can though. Most banks have better security than most Bitcoin holders I think. ~ -irreversible transactions
And this is not good in some cases. But overall I support Bitcoin and I think it is still better than cash.

No one of normal people don't want war and war still happening. This is fact. Stronger always attack weaker and this is it.US goverment is controled by selfish interest of multinational corporation and they are in possession of few the richest families.. They need war for profit!![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fseniorsforademocraticsociety.files.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F11%2Fvet600.jpg&t=664&c=8TYRJNKIExaKQg) But all of them live in this world, right? They are not so stupid IMO, they know war can affect them and war can spoil their lives too. Also I'm sure some of them are thinking about other people's lives too. Not all rich families are as bad as we might think, they are human as we are.

Genders don't play a part in using btc to be honest, cause even guys might feel btc is dodgy or shady. (Whatever you call it)
Thanks, I kind of waited for a reply like this. Indeed in the modern world where women receive the same education as men there is no reason to think that women are less educated. Since Bitcoin is used mostly by educated people it can be used equally by both genders. There is no need to motivate women to use Bitcoin, they are using it already and will be using it in the future. There is much more men than women using bitcoin. Denying facts isn't equality. I'm not denying facts, I agree with you. Yes, more men than women are using Bitocin now, but should we take a different approach when motivating women? I don't think so. What I'm saying is that today educated women and men have almost the same set of mind.

You don't really need to bet all your money, and you should not drink until you pass out.
I agree. All problems arise because of overusing of something. You shouldn't "stay away" just try to learn how to control yourself. It's not about gambling or drinking it's about control.

Depends on how much bitcoin is worth in 20 years, I am pro-bitcoin so I would say it would be around $2000-$3000 dollars and therefore would require around 300-500 bitcoins to retire.
I am also pro-bitcoin my my estimation is a bit more optimistic. In 20 years Bitcoin will be at least $10,000 (I think it will cost more than that but I'm saying at least). So IMO to retire in 20 years you'll need 200-300 Bitcoins depending on your demands.

Is there anywhere where people are using solar panel miners to run miners with them ?
Yes, if you browse through this mining section than you will find related information. Since electricity is quite expensive in most of the countries, only option now left is utilize solar power to mine bitcoins but it needs initial investments higher than normal mining methods. Exactly! And that's why it is almost impossible to have ROI with solar panels. Many people in those threads are talking about it. Only if you manage somehow to get solar panels free or for very low price (mybe used ones?) you might consider using them.

If the West was responsible for all the troubles, where have all the troubles gone to in Japan? China? Russia? Chile? Germany? Alaska?
If there is a "West" that is the great evil, where is it and who is it?
If "the West" is responsible for all the trouble in Iraq, why is there no trouble in Japan or Germany?
Does "the West" include Israel?
All dictators in the world say to people of their countries that the "West" is responsible for all their troubles, but of course they are lying. IMO if all countries of the world were governed like like "Western" countries the people there would feel much better.

Believe in it or not Bitcoin will be rising and those who have trust in it will be in profit. Although more acceptance wouldn't hurt, Bitcoin is already trusted enough to rise slowly but steadily with some insignificant fluctuations.
