Please, Google before making a repetitive suggestion.

Can bitcointalk.org get 2 factor authentication? (2013)
Why doesn't Bitcointalk support 2FA? (2016)
2FA on bitcoin talk (2017)
Isn't it time to introduce 2FA to enhance user account security ? (2018)
12182  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Verifying bitcoin payments manually, how to determine concrete payment payment on: July 15, 2018, 02:30:34 PM
May I know why do you want to limit yourself to 20 addresses?
12183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Ripple Wallet may need to use ? on: July 15, 2018, 12:22:45 AM
About where to buy XRP with other coins via exchange without ids ect if you have any idea for help should be generous from you !
I would use Binance. You can trade and withdrawal 2BTC worth of Ripple per day without needing to do any ID verification, which should be enough for you.
12184  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 'Technical Data' in Ledger Live on: July 14, 2018, 08:22:59 PM
From Ledger's CEO on reddit:

Quote
We are very transparent about what we collect. You can see the details here: https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/bloba6ab8fc159b86a12.png This is less that what a web session is collecting (we don't log IP addresses), and much less than was Google was collecting with the Chrome app system.

Sending Ledger Live version, OS & language, and a unique anonymous ID (to count usage) is not invasive, doesn't breach any privacy issue, and is fully shown in a transparent way. If you do not wish to give your consent, you have the possibility not to use the app (please note that nothing is send to our servers unless you complete the onboarding and therefore agree to the technical data collection).

Compared to the Chrome apps, there is a massive progress in data collection as we were able to reduce to the minimum. It is important however for us to have a basic understanding of usage, the same way that a web page is having some basic analytics.

No personal information are sent, in any case.

12186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Reserve bounty allocation for reporting cheaters on: July 14, 2018, 07:33:25 PM
The problem is that the managers don't care. Any kind of advertising is good when the payment token is worth shit.

Either require them to pay only with BTC or only allow a limited number of trusted managers who actually moderate their campaign and hate spam. Until then, no solution will work since most of the ICOs just want the most number of participants (spammers or not).
12187  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are the top BTC mixers after Bitmixer? on: July 14, 2018, 03:01:24 PM
Personally, I tried helix-grams(.)com < SCAM
I do not know if this service is good, but I liked it. Very easy use and quick withdraw.
This is a SCAM!

Don't use this fake mixer. Helix has closed their doors months ago.
12188  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum SHA256 hashes on: July 14, 2018, 02:35:05 PM
When trying to to that I get this:
Quote
gpg --verify electrum-3.2.2-setup.exe.asc electrum-3.2.2-setup.exe
gpg: Signature made Пан 02 Ліп 2018 10:12:08 +03 using RSA key ID 7F9470E6
gpg: Good signature from "Thomas Voegtlin (https://electrum.org) <thomasv@electrum.org>"
gpg:                 aka "ThomasV <thomasv1@gmx.de>"
gpg:                 aka "Thomas Voegtlin <thomasv1@gmx.de>"
gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg:          There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.
Primary key fingerprint: 6694 D8DE 7BE8 EE56 31BE  D950 2BD5 824B 7F94 70E6
What does this warning mean?
This means that the signature is valid but you don't directly trust the user who generated the key (you didn't set the key as trusted).

Don't worry, that's not an issue. The file is legit.
12189  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum SHA256 hashes on: July 14, 2018, 02:15:43 PM
They don't publish it. You will need to verify the PGP Signature, which is not that hard.

1. Import ThomasV's pubkey:
Code:
gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-keys 0x2BD5824B7F9470E6

2. Verify if it's imported:
Code:
gpg --fingerprint 0x2BD5824B7F9470E6

3. Download the signature file on the website.

4. Verify with:
Code:
gpg --verify signatureFile.asc ElectrumFile.tar.gz
12190  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is there a wallet (Android) that notify you when you have an incoming trx?? on: July 14, 2018, 12:34:39 AM
I've checked your suggestion, but is there any way to import my seed?, i can't see any way to do it, it just asks for a file to restore. Undecided
It's not possible.

Not an app, but you can use Blockonomics[1] to receive email notifications every time you send/receive Bitcoins from your watched wallet. That's what I use.

July 10, 2018? Doubt it will be accepted.
It should be worth a try. OP can't prove any other way.

The address was also used on July 5.
12192  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How trusted is this BIP 70 converter? on: July 13, 2018, 09:42:30 PM
I suppose you want to use this to decode a Bitpay payment URL?

If so, you can do yourself without trusting any website by sending a GET request to the URL with the header "Accept" equal to "application/payment-request", which is basically what the tool does; It will return the address and amount to send.

Here is an example by using Postman: https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/blobc64e32e8c553914c.png
12193  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Exchange Listing Fees on: July 13, 2018, 09:11:49 PM
I don't think there is any list because almost no exchange discloses their numbers.

Yobit is the only one I know: https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/

• Free - 0.00 btc - no guarantee
• Premium - 0.1 btc - 4-7 business days (no guarantee in case of compilation issues)
• Exclusive - 0.5 btc - 2-3 business days (no guarantee in case of compilation issues)

But some articles suggest that most can charge up to $3 million.
12194  Other / Meta / Re: My account is locked on: July 13, 2018, 06:56:47 PM
I don't have one, All I have is the bitcoin address on my profile
You do have (thankfully - otherwise, the address wouldn't be valid).
When sending the message to theymos/Cyrus, don't forget to include the link in the message.

Bitcointalk name: bitofc

Bitcoin Address:  1oRjg2Ys3skqwBV8fQB7XVczKpdhpjPjG
Appropriate Signature: Reserved for new campaign
Personal Text: Reserved for new campaign

I'm  applying for the next Campaign.

Also, signature verified.
12195  Other / Meta / Re: Limit to new accounts every month on: July 13, 2018, 05:55:37 PM
The problem with this idea is that the moment the timer rolls over you will have a bunch of bots fighting to take up the quota for the month.

Picture the doors opening on Black Friday, or if you tried ordering Asics last year and they were sold out within minutes
This. Let's please not exclude the legitimate users from this forum. There are already too little.

The spammers would just create all their accounts at once and spam the fck of the forum. The average number of registrations per day is already at 452. Your suggested "monthly quota" would be filled in just 4 days.
12196  Other / Meta / ICO thread being bumped by potential alts on: July 13, 2018, 04:58:20 PM
Thread: Team CyphrCoin Announces Their "Unique" Cryptocurrency Project

Am I the only one who thinks this thread is intentionally being bumped by alt accounts?

In this one, newbies and brand new accounts already created 8 pages of "good project" posts in just 4 hours.

And this is not the first time the "Team CyphrCoin" has been doing this. I was looking at the Patrol page the last 2 days and I've reported at least 30 similar "good project" posts in the thread that now has been nuked, which has the same name as the current one.

First post (NOW NUKED): Team CyphrCoin Announces Their "Unique" Cryptocurrency Project
Current one (STILL UP): Team CyphrCoin Announces Their "Unique" Cryptocurrency Project

Screenshots of the last 2 pages of the thread: https://imgur.com/a/Ty8tLwo

A few of them from the old thread in my history of reports: https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/blob9af5c4783350fef4.png

P.S: I'm making this thread because this is not the first time I've seen this kind of threads. There are MANY more in the Announcements (Altcoins) board and many more accounts doing this.
12197  Other / Meta / Re: Do you consider this as begging? on: July 13, 2018, 04:46:23 PM
I thought someone will use my own words against me. That personal message is not begging for Merit. I can justify that by quoting threads that states "Donations are appreciated" with BTC/ETH address included. If my personal message is considered begging then people with "Donations bla bla bla" are also begging.
I don't think this kind of message is necessary as you don't need to "allow" anyone to merit you. If you deserve merit, people will merit you.

It's not begging but I really dislike this kind of behavior.
12198  Other / Meta / Re: Do you consider this as begging? on: July 13, 2018, 04:33:24 PM
Not against the rules, but a DT member will probably neg trust him because of this.
12199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone help me about readuit twitter... on: July 13, 2018, 04:18:45 PM
You can do yourself for free every time you want:

1. Change your twitter username temporarily;
2. Do the audit with the new username;
3. Change it back to your original name;
4. Done! Free re-audit!
12200  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unable to upgrade Electrum 3.2.2 from 3.1.3 on Ubuntu 14.0.4 / VirtualBox on: July 13, 2018, 02:45:07 PM
Thank you, it might be self-explanatory for you, but as said, I know preciously little about Linux. In this case, having very occasionally used the Terminal on a Mac, I could not understand a wording such as "open the terminal.. where a file is located", so I have worked on Abdussamad's reply first.
I see that you already know how to open a terminal. So, try to run those commands:

Code:
cd ~/Desktop
wget https://download.electrum.org/3.2.2/Electrum-3.2.2.tar.gz
tar -xzf Electrum-3.2.2.tar.gz
cd Electrum-3.2.2
python3 electrum
