1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard of choice for 6 or more GPU's on: May 23, 2013, 09:46:44 PM
BTW, I use W8 x64.
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard of choice for 6 or more GPU's on: May 23, 2013, 09:46:07 PM
Ok i have installed windows 8 and all the cards are recognized without any errors.  Has any1 experienced problems with cgminer on win8?  I cant get it to run with my config file.  Very weird it keeps crashing and saying "cgminer has stopped working"

It is a stability issue with your config. I've had the same issue before. You have to go in and change some settings to make it stable again. It is different for every rig.

I even tried running my config without any parameters and it didnt work.  It will run if i remove the --scrypt.  It is the --scrypt that is causing the problem.  Not sure how to fix this??

I had the same issue with --scrypt. Almost gave up trying to figure it out but persevered! The problem (for me) is 13.4 drivers. Uninstalling 13.4 and installing 13.1 did not work.

Had to do another clean install of W8 and then install 13.1. I use SSD's so that takes about 5 minutes for me Smiley

Good luck!

3D print that shit! Tongue haha looking good, hope all goes too plan Smiley

LOL, I do have a 3D print but didn't want to reveal too much too soon Tongue
Did I quick cut job to focus only on the overall dimensions for this post.
1229  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Custom Rack Mount Case on: May 23, 2013, 12:34:52 AM
I am in the process of building a custom 5U rack mount case and thought another set of eyes on the dimensions would be good.

Please check my dimensions:

L x W x H
698mm x 448mm x 221mm
27.480314961" x 17.637795276" x 8.7007874016"

448mm for the width is on the high side but I want to have as much space for cards as possible.
Max width from Wikipedia is 450.85 mm (17.75 inches)

Was originally going to use sliding rails but that cut into the width so I'm going with these stationary rails instead:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816323006

...or will search for something cheaper later.

Max height for 5U is 221.463mm (8.719") I believe. Cut a little off to be on the safe side at an even 221mm (8.7007874016").

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I can confirm that you don't need to do a short on the GD65. I had to use Windows 8 to kick in the sixth GPU.

Nice setup! You don't have problems with cooling? Are those 7950's or 7970's?
1231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard of choice for 6 or more GPU's on: May 23, 2013, 12:12:51 AM
I have the z77a-gd65 and i cannot get 5 cards to run...always have 1 card which shows up in windows but has a code 43 problem...with win7 enterprise x64.

Try Windows 8. Seriously...it has been reported to support more cards.
1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange Confirmed][Pools] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 22, 2013, 08:32:55 AM
I'll put up a p2pool for this if there is a version of p2pool for PWC.

I'd be willing to create a pool for this currency. Have a world class datacenter with low latency/hops, Gb HSRP internet connectivity, redundant load balancers and switches. HP DL360 servers.

Since DGC is currently small and I am inexperienced in running a pool it would of course have no fees.

Can someone send me any links to running a solid push pool? From what I've gathered the current version has some problems and requires quite a bit of work to run reliably. BigVern at litebonk runs some solid push pools so I would hope to do something similar but with variable difficulty implemented.

Have some ideas on how to minimize DDoS attacks.

Or is p2pool the better way to go?

LOL, hope this doesn't cause the price to go up on the GD65  Wink

Still in the process of designing/building a case but will eventually try to push seven 7970's on this MB.

Restraining myself from buying the MB and additional cards now.

Tried to run two 7970's in a HAF XM with the side cover on but the 1st card gets too hot (82C):

Resorted to leaving the side cover off (GPU1 65C, GPU2 71C, 20C ambient):

Temporary setup until I get a custom chassis built.
