You'd need a pretty good network connection as everyone would be downloading and uploading things constantly, a good cpu and a bit of ram (i7&4gigs) should be enough for a pretty good pool, and then you could just throw linux on it and run pushpool. SW- 1HfM5sjHcTToTQce7p1JH4zrAz7f5d6sjw

I thought the same thing, and as I don't have awesome resources to use, I opted to pool, and i've been making more than I ever would have doing it solo.

Does the motherboard have onboard graphics? Have a look in the BIOS and see if you can switch it on, then boot without a card in and plug it in once you've booted up, another thing would be to try booting a livecd without a gui.
