1221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "BSV and Monero are the way, and Craig Wright is Satoshi" on: June 30, 2022, 06:22:09 PM
Yesterday I spoke with my coworkers brother over speaker phone who works for a crypto marketing company. He was convinced that Craig Wright is the actual satoshi and that Bitcoin Satoshi's vision was completely undervalued and that eventually it is going to be the number 1 coin. I just couldn't help but laugh inside my head, but then proceeded to tell him "ya never now maybe you could be right" just for the sake of being polite and not starting an argument lol. I didn't want to be rude, but I do think that this guy was a little crazy. Do people actually think that BSV has potential in the future? I thought we were past that whole fail of a forked BTC coin BSV and also Craig Wright being Satoshi..... LOL asking for a friend...
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Installations and Operator Growth 2021-2022- Industry Research on: June 28, 2022, 07:59:30 PM
Wow ! It’s amazing and very surprising to see this massive increase!!
Thanks for posting OP Smiley

Looking deeper it’s also interesting to see that the VAST majority of Bitcoin ATM machines are in the USA - 87.9%, with Canada being the next highest at 6.3% !!
Is this because there is much more Bitcoin adoption in North America and/or because of regulation/laws?
I believe in the UK you would need an FX license - which involves a lot of paperwork, money and abiding by KYC and AML regulations - a huge drawback.

Is there anyway of knowing the difference between 1yr ago and now, to analyse if the North America percentage  has increased and conversely the “rest of the world” has decreased relatively ? Hmmm - hope this makes sense  Smiley

Of course! I'm glad to share my findings with the community. It is a stark dominance, much like BTC dominance in the crypto market is basically the USA vs the world in Bitcoin ATMs. Regulators here in the US have made a clear path to becoming an operator so long as they maintain a robust KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Policy in effect. The hardest thing for an operator a year ago was finding a business bank account, so the friendliness of the US banks to crypto companies in the last year have also helped more operators to spring up in USA.

If I remember correctly the US market dominance of crypto ATMs at that time in 2021 was around 60% so we're talking about an almost 28% increase in US dominance since this time a year ago! Incredible.

Hey Hhampuz if anything opens up please let me know!  Smiley I would like to apply for the Full Member incentive when another spot opens up and I am highly motivated. Thanks for your consideration! - tread93

Let do things the way it should, the campaign rules says it's available for full member upwards, and now the campaign is currently closed for new participants (CFNP), you're in member rank yet and i think it would have been best you send this via pm to the campaign manager than here, others could see this and do the worse one than this, you don't need to beg for a campaign, once eligible the campaign manager will select you without any doubt.

Sure, I can play by the rules. I've not been involved in a campaign like this before so please pardon my ignorance here I thought that my status made me qualify but now I realize that I am not considered a "full member" just yet.

1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin ATM Installations and Operator Growth 2021-2022- Industry Research on: June 28, 2022, 07:04:39 PM
Hey Guys,

Since I last posted about this a little over a year ago-here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5335262.msg56936144#msg56936144 the overall crypto ATM machine installs worldwide has nearly doubled from a little less than 20k to a little less than 40k!

I have been working on a list of Bitcoin ATM Operators and currently I am showing 121 unique operators in this space below (I am probably off by another 10-20 that I have not found or are too new to have any info yet).

If this isn't proof of the adoption of Bitcoin then I don't know what is. Mind you this is also a physical presence of Bitcoin at your every day convenience stores which I think is pretty powerful to generating more awareness to the general public and definitely fosters curiosity.

These machines have helped to further legitimize the crypto space as a whole. I check coinatmradar.com every few months and see new companies pop up every time so I can assure you there is constant growth in this space, year over year, for the past 8 years.

This picture I posted on May 5 2021 which was the current BTM Growth on that very day:

Fast Forward to now and there are over 20,000 MORE Bitcoin ATM machines that have been placed in gas stations, grocery stores, bodegas, vape shops, and many other types of brick and mortar stores all across the globe.

Here is a current and alphabetized list of all the Bitcoin ATM companies that I am aware of. If you know of another Bitcoin ATM Company that is NOT on this list please leave me a comment or DM me as I want to have this list as accurate as possible.

1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is a Commodity according to SEC- Is this good or bad for Bitcoin? on: June 28, 2022, 03:37:31 PM
I think it could potentially be both good and bad. Obviously its now labeled as a commodity rather than a currency which is counterproductive to Bitcoin's intended purpose for becoming a global currency- but isn't it that already basically, just without the title?

This move by the SEC could help to pave the way for a Bitcoin ETF for Grayscale as I would consider this progress at least in their effort to move the worlds largest Bitcoin Trust into the largest Bitcoin Exchange Traded Fund.

I still don't quite understand what the consequences of this label mean and how it will affect bitcoin long term. Note that they mentioned Bitcoin as the ONLY cryptocurrency to be considered as a commodity, so I wonder if eventually all others will be labeled as a security? I guess we shall see.

Feel free to post your thoughts below, i'm interested to see what people say about this.

Cheers,

In other words IGNORE any information that you do not like, disregard any information that interferes with your dream of becoming rich...

The above post is pure emotion and hope.

Any rational investor would laugh at the above as the worst way to invest, and a really good way to lose a lot of money....

OLD WALL STREET SAYING:  " Do not confuse brains with a bull market "...  In other words, even the dumbest investors can make money in a bull market.

I think you're definitely the guy i'm speaking to in this post. You have a nice little recipe for your posts lol make a claim, then insult, then pull some old quote out of your ass ahhahah. Hey having emotion and hope means that I am human. I'm trying to be positive light in this otherwise dark time and having some fun. I am looking at the long term picture for what Bitcoin has the chance to be over the course of my lifetime. I could be right I could be wrong only time will tell.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin FUD is for losers. BE A WINNER. Stay Cool- Be Positive =D on: June 23, 2022, 03:59:21 PM
Ladies and Gents,

We have all seen the price drops, the news articles, the videos and just straight chaos in the global markets. The politics have been especially entertaining to watch. Its like we're in the middle of the best TV show ever called life in 2022, haha. I mean seriously what a shit show.

I walk into work each day and all my coworkers ask me & hound me on bitcoin or tell me why it won't last, but most of them have no clue. They'll ask me if I'm still buying or holding or if I sold any, and I always tell them of course I keep buying. I just can't help but laugh at all the people who think Bitcoin is dead, when the markets are this crazy and the inflation is up this high and you can get bitcoin at a discount its always a smart decision to get more. In time all of this will pass and we will see new ATHs for years and years to come.

If you're in this, then be in it. And if you're out of it and spreading crap all over this forum then please GET OUT! HODL has lost its meaning in 2022, most people seem to be completely jumping ship (besides the majority on this forum). Now is the time to dollar cost average and accumulate while its getting cheaper. Even if it falls back to 3k or even to 1k who cares. Long term vision has always been set to the sky.

WE ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. Stay positive, do not be dismayed and discouraged. Remember why we are here in the first place. It takes a little while to reach the top of the mountain from the gondola, but only a minute or two to ski all the way down the mountain! This is what is happening with Bitcoin right now. We are almost at the bottom of the hill about to get back on the lift and continue to rise. Me, i'm just enjoying the ride! All the people who never get back on the lift will never know the feeling of that fresh powder in the back bowls (sorry for anyone who doesn't ski in here w/ all the lingo).

Today I'm feeling just fine and dandy, i'd say peachy! Lets stack these chips, get your coins! Nobles didn't become nobles miraculously, they took it!!!! Hold your sword steady, and fight with poise knowing full well that we will end up on the right side of history.

All the best, All the time,

1232  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Graded coins as NFTs? on: June 20, 2022, 03:34:50 PM
I have actually just come across this at a crypto mini conference in west palm. They are saying they are working with NGC and PCGS and had on display 2022 ASEs that they did a 3D rendering on and their whole mantra was the ability to "privatize" their NFTs on the blockchain. Each NFT came with the silver one ounce coin and apparently its dropping at the end of this month but has a whopping price tag of $1000 USD per. I'm out lol. I was not impressed. They lacked design and creativity and overall I called out NGC and PCGS publicly on social media calling them to finally do this on their own and to make their NFTs have a utility - with my suggestion being to provide a lifelong membership to all NFT holders to give their NFTs value. But hey we shall see what they do. I'd love to see them do something cool with them, but they are sadly missing their window.
