1221  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: June 12, 2023, 11:35:20 PM
Savings can be grouped into two. saving to prepare for an unforeseen need, and saving to make that money grow. therefore try to save money used for investing, you should not use savings for daily life or savings funds to guard against sudden needs. logically if we invest without involving daily money it will maintain our psychological stability so that it is not affected by high fluctuations.

Because of the high rate of inflation in my country it would be very unwise to save money for a long term.
I do save money, but I do it to solve short term problems, like pay for house rent, buy a gadget, etc. And it usually within 2 to 4 months. Yea, there should be money kept aside for rainy days. I don't think saving is a bad thing, but saving when you can be investing that money is not prudent. Instead of just leaving the money to be sitting pretty in the bank, we should put the money to work. That money should be able to grow and bring more money for us in the long run.
Also, because investing is good doesn't mean we should just dive to any available investment scheme we see. We have to be careful and research thoroughly before we put our hard earned money into anything.

Well, I think the beat club for him would be Manchester United, since he has no plans of going outside the Premier League. It's Manchester United successfully gets either of Madison and Mason Mount to partner Bruno Fernandez in midfied, then we're sure of the creativity in midfied for either of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and also Garnacho to score goals.

I don't know who the hell is Kolo Muani, but if he is capable of fighting for Manchester United there's no need for too much procrastinating.

Madrid woul be the best destination for Harry Kane. Madrid would definitely guarantee him more trophies. Man United on the other hand can go the whole of next season without winning a trophy. But since Kane isn't leaving England, which is not a surprise, Manchester United is the best option. He's a perfect fit for United.
Kane is a very big asset to any team. He's such a good striker and United needs something like that. The way Ten Hag plays, he needs a striker that won't just be in the box waiting for the ball and Kane is the definition of a modern day striker. He's so underrated because if we're been honest, he has more than underachieved when it comes to trophies.

United should buy Madison and forget about Mount. They already have Bruno Fernandez who plays a similar role to Mount. They need a player like Madison than can take on the Erisksen role. Man United also needs a right winger. They can't rely on Antony and Garnacho.

If you don't know Kolo Muani then you probably didn't watch the 2022 world cup final or you weren't invested in it like I was. He's good but I don't know if he can feel the striker role for Man United. Kolo Muani has scored 23 goals and provided 24 assist for Frankfurt this season.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 12, 2023, 10:04:08 PM
Barcelona is not the best team in the world at the moment, even in the previous season they did not deserve this title either.
As an illustration, as you said, the Champions League, which is the league for the top teams, Barcelona cannot get a good position there and is still below Manchester City.

The two trophies owned by Barcelona cannot be used as a guarantee that they are the best team.

Barcelona is no way the best team in Europe but did you just say Barça don't deserve the league title they won? Really? A team won the league with about 4 or 5 games to spare and yet they don't deserve the league? They won the league with like 13 points but you said they don't deserve the league? Oh c'mon! I agree Barcelona have been poor in Europe and that's not excusable but they 100% deserved to win the league. They only started dropping points an conceding goals after they had won the trophy already.
No team in La Liga deserved to win the trophy more than Barcelona. Despite their injuries they still managed to win crucial league games and won the trophy. Please, give Barcelona their floweres because they deserve it.

I was very much disappointed with Lukaku... I think his career is over... He was terrible at Chelsea, he didn't perform well at the last World Cup either... In yesterday's very important match, he missed several chances... I am sure if Dzeko had had the strength to play the match to the end, he would not have missed an opportunity to score... It's a shame that Inter started to create such good moments only after conceding a goal...

Lukaku did two things wrong in the match. One was not even entirely his fault. One was the chance he missed and the other was when he blocked Oscar Dimarco's header. What more do you expect of him.
Dzeko was non existent in that match before the injury so there was no guarantee that he would have been better.
Before you miss chances you would have been involved in the game. Dzeko didn't miss any because he wasn't involved.
You don't judge how a player performed by how many chances he missed. L. Martinez missed a couple of chances, does that mean he played badly?
Inter were a little bit unlucky, plus Man City was really good in defense too. Inter player well but the day just went to Manchester City.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding cryptocurrencies and investment. on: June 09, 2023, 10:10:55 PM
If you have a big patience you don't need to be doubtful you can invest in cryptocurrency today and wait till you get the profit when the market become more better, we will not loss if you don't sell at loss, everyone knows that cryptocurrency is risky every coin is risky but if you will find the right coin you will gain big earnings.

Bitcoin is the only coin I can say this about, to be honest. It's only with Bitcoin that I can say your patience will surely be rewarded. And even with Bitcoin, it's very difficult. Some that invested in Bitcoin during the ATH till when it dipped to $16k have not been able to recover their losses. Now if it was most of the altcoins out there, it will be a wise decision to sell as a loss because there is every possibility that that coin will never grow again, there is even the possibility that the coin might be worthless, but that is not the case with Bitcoin.
1226  Economy / Economics / Re: US Advisory on Payment App Risks and Bitcoin’s Position as a Secure Alternative on: June 09, 2023, 01:40:28 PM
Users are afraid of losing their money but I know a friend who has more than 100,000 dollars in his bank account and he does not remember the account number. However, he is reassured that the protection provided by banks and all that is needed is to sign a paper and with enough proof of identity to get your money, he feels safe, this A friend will not risk buying a hardware wallet for fear of losing the seeds and thus losing his money.
These same people are lazy and will try to deposit large amounts of money in the PayPal balance because it provides them with ease and the ability to withdraw at any time and buy what they need with a single click.

unless the FDIC moves a step forward and includes these companies in insurance, we may see a collapse like FTX with any major financial crisis.

This right here is part of the problem. A lot of people are just lazy and do not want to take their own security up by themselves. They don't trust themselves enough. So they rather keep it with a centralized company that can keep it safe for the. I don't blame them. It's what they're used to and change can be hard. We were born into this system and a lot of factors will try to stop us from breaking out of that system because the system makes it comfortable.

Just as @slapper said, Bitcoin also comes with its own risk. There's no point in using Bitcoin for its security purposes and not being able to keep your coin secured by yourself.

Non-custodial wallets are the best, as long as they're utilized responsibly. The most critical aspect is to store our private keys securely. Let's say it's like owning a house: no matter how strong your doors and windows are, if you leave the keys lying around, it's not going to end well.
I love the analogy you used with the very secure house and the unsecured key. It gives a real-like definition of not protecting your wallet properly no matter how secure Bitcoin might be.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe are physical exchanges in your neighborhood. on: June 08, 2023, 05:56:52 PM
~Do you think those dealers are safe?
~And what's the fate  of physical  cryptocurrency exchanges(r) in your country?

Let's  discuss

The problem is in countries like this, the authorities don't really care if the dealer committed a crime or not. Most of the time they see the dealer as a fraud because they don't really understand how all this works.
Other times, these traders receive money that was gotten through fraud or money from an account that was under red notice by the authorities. What's worst is these traders may not know anything about the source of the money or the account the money came from. Things can get really messy for them at this point.
They all just gotta be careful if they are in countries where Bitcoin and other crypto activities are frowned upon.
1228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: doing extra effort will help a lot on: June 08, 2023, 10:48:55 AM
One problem most people do have in this life is "Copyright" ©️ because they see that "Bitcoin" is working for me they will want to do that Bitcoin trading which am doing in other for them to be like me, without even asking for the right information and what's involve how I get to where I am currently, they will just gather little information and not everything and when they do it the way they thinks is right and it didn't work for them they will complain that it's not working for them and they will want to try another different thing moving from one thing to the other which when one have a divided attention on different things they won't actually achieve anything in life, until they give it their full time and turn it their passion unless they want to live by assumption and luck if not real life success most of the time depends on the number of time and dedication given to something.

Most people do not want to put maximum effort into what they do. They just want to do the barest minimum and become successful. It doesn't work like that. The barest minimum might get you a few bucks, but it won't help you become successful. Nothing in life is going to come easily. We have to work for it.
I don't think giving it your full time alone is enough. You have to be diligent in your craft. Always try to be better, always learn new things. That's the way to grow and get better. Before you start making money in whatever you do, you have to develop yourself first.
1229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 08, 2023, 10:19:37 AM
No matter how much I see this kind of topic on this forum and on any other platform, I always feel it's not been said enough. You'd be surprised at the number of people who still use exchanges, especially CEXs as their wallets. They just comfortably leave coins worth a very huge amount of money in exchanges. What borders me more is the fact that these guys are not newbies, they are people who have been in the industry for quite a while.
Just recently I heard about a guy that was a big gun among traders in my country who left over $80k worth of coins in his finance account and used his Binance account to receive coins that were gotten through fraud unknown to him.
The fraud was traced to his account. Binance reported him to his home authority where he was arrested and taken to court and his account was frozen by finance along with all the money in it.
That placed him in a very difficult situation because most of the money where money from investors and he had to pay it back. It placed him in so much debt.
1230  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: June 08, 2023, 09:50:54 AM
How about it.. Sometimes I just don't want to read the sentence "money can't buy happiness".. The reality is that we need money to be happy, for ourselves, others or family.
In fact, I believe more in the phrase "increase your wealth, then everyone will consider you a brother". Or another case, just compare it between the poor who steal and the rich who are corrupt, after they are released from punishment, everyone must still respect the rich even though they have been corrupt. Yes how else, we are just creatures of materialism.

This is the reality like that. But again this is all up to each individual. because money can be a double-edged knife depending on how we use it.

I am one of those who believes that money can buy happiness. What most people misunderstand is that when you have money then all your troubles would be solved, it is not always true. Maybe money will solve all the problems you currently have but troubles will always be a part of life. But amidst all those troubles you can still be happy if you have money.
Personally, I don't think I'd ever be happy if I don't have money. I can't be broke and happy. And yea, I know no amount of money would be enough, but there's a certain amount of money that will make you happy. The kind money of that can afford everything you want at any given time.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 07, 2023, 10:47:09 PM
Napoli next season

- No spalletti
- No minjae
- No osimhen (possible)
- No kvarat (possible)

To be honest losing spallettig has been changing the team a lot started from strategy, line up, etc. losing minjae was also changing the defensive line in the club as min jae has become one of great players in napoli.
He has been deciding move to the EPL and so, that makes sense if napoli will not have same performance again next season like this time.
There will be so many things change in napoli for next season. Im sure that if it will not be dominating the match again.

They will most likely not be losing Kvaratskhelia during this summer transfer window. Napoli is not an easy club to do business, especially with a player they do not want to sell. Kvaratskhelia will remain because Napoli might slap a 150 million Euros price tag on him and no club is breaking the bank to get him just yet.
Osimhen is valued at around 80 million, meaning they'll get enough money to get a good replacement. If Napoli can just get a better coach to handle the team, they will be just fine.
The sale of Min Jae too would be felt, but I heard he's joining Liverpool for about 50 million. That is a lot of money to get you reinforcement. So Napoli would be good next season. It just depends on the coach they hire.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Conference League 2022/23 Season on: June 07, 2023, 02:35:28 PM
I think West Ham will easily win the match. When I look at the overall performances and if I have to interpret the matches I watched, West Ham will win without too many goals. The situation may change if a football of chaos is played. Goals from set pieces can determine the match. I can bet on under 2.5 and a West Ham win.

I so much disagree with your first sentence. "Easily"? Not at all. Both teams are of the same quality at this point and if we go by recent performance and their performance altogether, Fiorentina has a better chance. But we know how the final can be. So I'm predicting it to be a very close game. Im going to lean a little bit towards Fiorentina to win the game. West is in good form in the tournament too, so they can't be judged by their league form which is not very good, but they've been awesome in the conference league and they are going to put up a fight tonight. Looking forward to the game.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: June 07, 2023, 02:05:52 PM
As a coach, you should always have goals for yourself, and as a seasoned coach, I think Jose Mourinho was fully aware of his target. He was just unfortunate not to have won the final. It's not easy to manage a team as ordinary as Roma, so he deserves praise for the caliber of players he has at his disposal. He had to make do with what was available because the squad hardly had any prominent stars and they cannot afford to pay such individuals. Since competing for the top four spots in the league would be challenging with the players available, his goal was to qualify for the champions league. As a result, he had to improvise and consider an easy road. He wasn't really focused in the league since he understood it would have been simpler to win the Europa League and then advance to the Champions League than to compete for top-4 spot.

The only thing that counts to Mourinho is winning a game, regardless of how he did it. That was his strategy against Sevilla, but it backfired against him. He deserves respect for making it to the end.

You guys make this Roma squad look so ass, so it can look as if Mourinho did what was impossible. Roma has a better squad than Sevilla. Roma has almost the same squad as Napoli. I'm not saying they have a squad t win the Champions League and Serie A, but that Roma squad is a squad that should in the top four and nobody should be surprised if that team wins the Europa League.
Mourinho is good in his own way, no doubt, but this season, he was not that great, even the season before that. He managed to win the Conference League and that was what made it look as if he was fantastic.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 07, 2023, 01:42:12 PM
I still think Manchester city doesn’t depend wholly on the abilities of Haaland as a striker to score goals. No doubt, Haaland is a very talented striker and Manchester City’s strength may have increased a bit with him on the squad. He’s a big and energetic striker who’s also moves quickly and opens up beautifully for passes or crosses from other teammates to score goals.
This should be common knowledge, but unfortunately, it isn't. Manchester City is a team all their players can create opportunities and all their players can score goals. Halland is their best goal scorer while De Bruyne is their best creator, but that doesn't mean Halland is the only good goal scorer. Bernado's first goal against Madrid, only a good goal scorer can score goals like that. Gundigan is a good goal scorer, and Foden, and De Bryune all score fantastic goals.
Halland adds more to this Manchester City team than just goals, but his goals are his biggest impact.

I wouldn’t say Gabriel Jesus is not as good as Haaland. Gabriel Jesus is a more experienced player than Haaland. Haaland has his youthful energy as well as his height and build and he uses all that to the best of his ability.
Halland is by a mile a better player than Gabriel Jesus. If they were wingers with the same ability, then Jesus might be better, but as strikers, Jesus is not as good as Halland. Gabriel Jesus might be better on the ball than Halland, but when it comes to their actual jobs as strikers which is scoring goals, only three players in the world right now can be compared to Halland in that regard.
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 06, 2023, 10:26:37 PM
They’re reports that PSG have fired coach Christophe Galtier after one season at the club. At this point I think the board and their fans know nothing about football. Their problem is they want quick success. Due to the fact that they have the money, they want quick success especially in the champions league and it’s never easy. Now they have signed Asensio and Ugarte without caring whether they fit into new coache's tactics or formations? what a joke of a club. Zero strategy, zero plan and they want to win UCL.

I haven't confirmed these rumors to be true or not, but PSG really need to fire Christopher Gaiter. I am not a fan of the PSG handle footballing business, but they will be right to fire Christopher Gaiter.
Have you seen PSG okay? My god, they're awful. I know they lack the right amount of players in some areas of the pitch, but PSG has no right to play that poorly. They even tipped the league with a difference of just one point, that's to show how awful they were.
With the kind of form Lens was in this season, if they had deep pockets like PSG, they would have won the league convincingly.
Part of PSG's problem is bad sport management, but a big part of this poor form this season from from having a mediocre coach.
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Illuminate this tiny brain of mine because I am focused. on: June 06, 2023, 10:14:34 PM
Funny enough there's still a debate among these guys if cryptocurrencies should be classified as commodities or securities.
If it's commodity like petrol and the rest then it should be regulated by the CFTC. The CFTC will also regulate it if crypto is accepted as a currency because they regulate currency trading too.

If Crypto is a security like Bonds and stock then it will be regulated by the SEC.
According to the Howey test, something can be a security if
1. Money is invested
2. There is an expectation that the investor will make profit
3. The investment is in a common enterprise
4. Profit are generated through the effort of others.

What's funnier is the fact that the SEC chairman said majority of cryptocurrencies are securities but he excluded Bitcoin. I have so many questions about this.

You can read more on this here

1237  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: June 06, 2023, 02:32:18 PM
This goes both ways. If you don't take any risks, you can't make any profits (or lose any money). If you want to make lots of money with so little investment, you should take the maximum risk possible. You just have to be on the right side of the trade but how are going to decide that? That's where it becomes a gamble if you are making your trades not based on any data.

If the trader always focuses on the risks like you said then he will end up taking no risks because he will be eliminating risks instead of adding to them. How is he gonna make any money then? He will not.

However, a trader must be willing to take risks, because if they don't dare to take risks, as you say, they will never get any profit. The higher the risk we take, the greater the profit we will get, and vice versa. In all cases such a cycle will occur, moreover this is a trade that does require risks that we must take.
But before that we also have to prepare well, I mean everyone can take risks, big or small, but with what do they take those risks, whether with the results of the analysis they did or just rely on luck. Because I often see people trading long or short for no apparent reason.

When they say "invest what you can afford to lose" doesn't mean don't take risk. We should always take risk but they should be calculated risk and they should be risk that won't wreck you if things go sideways. Investments on its own is a risk.
Risk is inevitable if we want to be better people in life. Investments should always be made, risk will always be taken but we should be smart about it. Don't take risk that will put you in a difficult situation later on. Taking a risk that will wreck you if it fails is also a gamble. If it works then fine, but if it doesn't you're in a whole lot shit.
1238  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: June 06, 2023, 02:06:17 PM
In terms of value or price, Bitcoin can actually be measured by any fiat currency as long as the currency also has value so this clearly doesn't depend on the dollar currency. This is what makes Bitcoin not easily become zero again as long as most people can still measure its price and value with any currency, because it is always based on the level of interest that exists for Bitcoin which also causes the blockchain to continue to work when there is a transaction
Even now Bitcoin is measured in other currency. I mean, everybody knows what Bitcoin is what in their various local currency. Dollar is only used because it's the global recognized currency. There's no bond with dollar and Bitcoin, that will make Bitcoin worthless if dollar becomes worthless.

If the price goes to zero of course there will be panic, I believe if this year the price is $ 1000 then 2024 will be zero and it won't take long, panic will occur and many exchanges will close when the price is $ 1000, and of course altcoins will also end and we must be prepared if this condition occurs.

This is exactly how it will be. Without Bitcoin, there will be no crypto. Even if some alt coins still remain, they will lose a lot of trust and people won't want to go near them.
People will be like, if Bitcoin that is the most trusted and biggest coin that crash how much more alt coins.
It's not going to happen though, all these are hypothetical.
1239  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: June 05, 2023, 04:20:02 PM

I totally agree with you, just saving will not help us have a prosperous life because of inflation, prices increase yearly, and the currency depreciates, so saving has no effect anymore. Instead, we should invest and accumulate in deflationary assets like gold, real estate, or bitcoin. Only in this way can we deal with the fact that goods are increasing day by day due to inflation. But saving should take precedence over investment, I mean we should have a savings for life before thinking of investment because investment also has certain risks.

A lot o people who work do not believe in the idea of investing. They believe they can just save for the rainy day or save for retirement.
With the rate at which inflation is increasing, it is really not advisable to just save. I know everybody needs savings, but a part of that savings we're making should be used for investments.
Investment is risky, it is simpler to just save the money, but if we always go for the simpler options we will never get what want.
Investing can never be overestimated. Without investment we can never attain financial freedom. No matter how much you make frome the job you do, you need to invest in other for you to grow.
1240  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: June 05, 2023, 03:51:48 PM
Everything you listed here cannot help you overcome inflation.
There's literally no way you can overcome inflation if you leave in a country that is plunged by inflation.
If you save money, that money will lose value buly the time you're ready to use it. You may save $250 for 6 months and at the end of the six month, that money won't be able to afford what it could afford 6 months ago if you leave in a country with high inflation rate.

Preparing for emergency and looking for additional income, doesn't take the inflation away. Yea you would have more more, but you'll still be affected by the inflation because commodities would be expensive.

In a country like mine, bother the domestic and foreign product are affected by inflation. The people providing the domestic goods and/or service live in the same country as you, so if they don't increase the price of their commodity they might end up selling at a loss because of the increased cost of production caused by inflation.

Investing still doesn't help you overcome inflation. Your investment doesn't take the inflation away. In an inflation, the price of everything goes up, even the price of investment.
Your investment would only not be affected by inflation depending on what you invest in, like Bitcoin.
