I'm primarily a trader, but since I'm also a bitcoin enthusiast I always have some amount on my phone like $50-$200. The problem is I only got to spend some once. It felt amazing though. Sometimes I ask in stores and restaurants if they accept bitcoin as a payment option too. Hope my coins will be of more use in the near future.

I'd say we go down $300 was the top. Also most profitable direction for the whales since there will be more margin calls to trigger than in the other direction.

That is a lot of money indeed. Very impressive. Now push that shit!

Paging NLC! Oh he'll be back soon (and in greater numbers!) once we make the first tiny step down to test support.. I'm really sorry to have to pass on the sad news that today user NotLamchop died: May his family and bear-friends take some comfort in the fact that people who didn't even know him that well, still have nothing but terrible things to say about him. He was always trolling and unfriendly and the world is better off now he's not in it.

Now up more or crash?
|
|
|
Yeah could very well be. It remains to be seen what happens when we actually press through that barrier though. Some say it's best to immediately start shorting, while others say we'll see a quick move further up. I don't quite know where to put my money yet...
Soon we will find out!

What goes up must come down.

Cause: Higher prices result in more people buying. They get hyped. Everyone claims they will buy more when they see lower prices but in practice they don't. Instead they get fearful. So they only buy on price increases.
When this rally will end: Unknown. We have been in overbought territory for a while now. Like always some people will get burned.

I am hoping that we may reach at $300 in the next 24 hours but my gut tells me that it will not be and will require more time to settle at a higher floor to finally reach that mark.
You were right, it might need a couple more days. Great time to go long with leverage. I do not agree. Bitcoin at $230 was a great time to go long with leverage. You don't want to go on leverage this late in the rally.

Someone buying all the coins on Bitfinex.

So help me understand ... the dump is happening because of an impending name change ?
YES!!

I didn't follow the discussion. Could someone explain what is the reasoning behind the re-brand / name change? Thanks!

I'm pretty excited for this wondering how many new bitcoin enthusiast this type of investment option will create.

I appreciate the reasoning behind your investment decisions. Nicely done.

Now things get interesting.

I actually like this idea. I look forward to the day when a box of detergent shows up at our door without our prior involvement, because the dishwasher was running low and it went out and used a pricing service to find the cheapest vendor and ordered more (using our pre-set account) to replenish itself. If the inevitable glitches are manageable, this sort of thing could free us from a lot of day-to-day drudgery.
That would be awesome.

That 3 day EMA crossover is so freaking close! Next 24 hours are critical!
With bitcoin it is always critical.

buy pressure seems to be abating. opened a small short with a tight stop.
8.5k to $280 on Finex, buy pressure deffo abating I learned that walls in bitcoin trading are not too reliable. They will get pulled all the time in both directions. If the market decides to go down it will go down no matter the (fake) walls.
