12201  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Feb 22 to March 9 diff thread with contest included. on: March 07, 2015, 05:37:11 PM
Something is messed up with Ghash.io pool

Current block is 19 hours with 17Ph/s

and 2 blocks prior it took 10 hours with 13Ph/s.

yes they have been a big factor in this lower rate.

It is pretty amazing to see Ghash go from worried about 51 percent to a smaller pool.  If you look at last 24 hours they are only 2 percent of blocks found. https://blockchain.info/pools

I will be happy if we get the 1 percent raise only with btc price slowly going up.
12202  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer Hacked on: March 06, 2015, 07:20:46 PM
Is this a miner at your house or data center?

To think it happens so quick are you sure you stopped it?
12203  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best available miner to buy ? on: March 06, 2015, 07:18:14 PM
if its not spoondolies, i would go with antminer S5 or just wait for the next gen miners, bitmain may be releasing something in the incoming months.

Either way the SP gear or S5 you should be happy.

A lot depends on your electricity price.  Some older gear makes sense on really low electricity.
12204  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 06, 2015, 07:15:53 PM
I took a shot at cornering the paperclip jumper market not too long ago. Some interesting Q's and A's in there if you have a second. Took a page straight out of the High Def HDMI Cable market.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=925987.0
Serious question did you ever get some attempts to buy any?

I'm not going to point any fingers. But if you read through it, seems a few people get a little bit fuzzy on if this is real or not. And if real, of course they'd order some!

The guy with the cock ring sounded serious, but Homie don't play that.
Bought one! Cool  Wear it when I tinker with my miners..   ooh.

I never have had a problem with paperclips.  I do like to use some electrical tape to keep it in place though.
12205  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S6 or S2 Upgrade News TODAY! (Speculation! 3/5/15) on: March 06, 2015, 04:43:54 AM
they will keep it in 1000w so 3th it will be the maximum Undecided

i think i pass and buy an sp30!

Do you know this for sure as a fact?  If so do you know exact speed and watts  used.
12206  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S6 or S2 Upgrade News TODAY! (Speculation! 3/5/15) on: March 05, 2015, 08:43:30 PM
now hope its for s2. bitmain canceled before also remember Smiley

But that was because S2's at the time were still profitable in most places.  Now  that spec gear is on it's way out. As long as they can do it and financially  make sense for them I  think a S2 upgrade is more likely now.
12207  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S6 or S2 Upgrade News TODAY! (Speculation! 3/5/15) on: March 05, 2015, 07:17:22 PM
I really hope some information comes out.  Would love to see some next gen miners.
12208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: March 05, 2015, 07:15:32 PM
Message from Simon is that miners starts to ship friday next week.
Updated this weekend !

So which one is it?

Shipping next Friday?
Shipping this weekend?

Still is yet to show a working model.   I would not hold your breath.
12209  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Zeus Thunder X3 VS Antminer s3? on: March 05, 2015, 07:02:47 PM
I just bought a Thunder X3 and they're pretty easy to mine with and set up with a PI, the only issue is they are LOUD, and be prepared for the noise, power and heat.

I think power is something to worry about.  I suggest doing ROI math for anyone thinking about it.
12210  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S5 User Interface... where is the logout button... or is there one?> on: March 05, 2015, 06:58:33 PM
I haven't seen it. I just close the tab if necessary.  Smiley

So if some dingaling had access to your computer briefly the could open a browser, enter 1 see what IP's come up, click and wreak havoc?

No logout button?> Cray

You should be able to delete browser history.  In some last .... minutes.

But no logout that i know of.   Do you have a reason you need to logout?
12211  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Would a C1 survive without water cooling in a -1C cooled room ? on: March 05, 2015, 02:18:04 PM
hello, would a C1 survive for 5 days in a room with -1C ? without Water cooling and only 4 Fans ?

I'm not sure how you will use 4 fans if not using water.   But without water it get's to hot and will turn off. I can say I had a cold ambient temp (was months ago in winter) when my syscooling pumps died.  It ran and turned off.

If you want aircooled your better off with a different miner.
12212  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: March 05, 2015, 05:44:35 AM
Sorry if I am missing something easy.

1) is "solo.antpool.com:3333" a normal server? Ie it is not me solo mining

2) How do I set difficulty manually?
12213  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Zeus Thunder X3 VS Antminer s3? on: March 05, 2015, 12:47:20 AM
I would do some ROI sadly I think the Scrypt option will cost more then you make.

S3 depends on price and your electricity price.
12214  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MegaBigPower Opens Buyback for Unprofitable Bitcoin Miners on: March 05, 2015, 12:44:14 AM
Will be interesting to see what prices are.
12215  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 04, 2015, 12:12:05 AM
Maybe they meant to say 500 hour?

Smiley)))))

any more problems with the aluminium corrosion?

Bitmainwarranty always replaced my bad pumps quickly. Even gave me an extra one just in case, so I cannot complain about the warranty service, but I have a funny feeling they knew those pumps weren't very good. Everytime I used one of those pumps I would get air pressure build up, foam, bubbles, and noises. After switching to that no name pump on Ebay the loop has been sealed, no bubbles or any type of issues. Strange.

You are lucky then.  With ordering direct for syscooling like told in batch one I had to deal with them on RMA's.
12216  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 03, 2015, 07:35:41 PM
Just bought a C1 batch 3 without the cooling kit.  Am now trying to decide what to do about cooling.  Started buying from Syscooling but choked on complaints of non-tracking and the shipping fee to the US.  I want to have some cooling ready when the miner arrives.

Is Syscooling fast enough and dependable?

What have most others here done when faced with this decision?

Thanks in advance for advice here.

soy

Original shipment is fast from them.  But you will pay a premium for this service.

I suggest getting another pump, and a molex to 3 pin power adapter.   My original pumps 2 out of 2 died. One got lost for a month in mail other just a tad over a month.  The pumps are just horrible no way around it.
12217  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Got ROI in 40 days with my Antminer S3+ on: March 03, 2015, 05:12:11 AM
Just curious, how much on avg do Canadians pay for electricity?

Also curious how are you getting "free" electricity.
12218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: nube with a box on: March 02, 2015, 09:36:05 PM
Do some ROI math but most likely you will pay more in electricity then you could  mine.

As far as "Hate the Feral Reserve and politicians so bitcoin was like a light to a moth".  I think you will see most don't have this thoughts.   For max profit it works within the laws not as a anti-goverment device.  That is just my opinion though.
12219  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: glashio on: March 02, 2015, 09:29:39 PM
Doesn't your worker name need to be "username.#"

For ghash yes you are correct
12220  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: which a reliable company? in mining on: March 02, 2015, 09:28:22 PM
Look in hardware forum for good companies.  This one I have never heard of.
