12201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking popular myths about Bitcoin on: November 08, 2016, 06:04:58 AM
I guess the thing that are trending now, is : China control Bitcoin. It is not to say that China with it's massive mining farms are in control of Bitcoin. Whatever their hashing power is, and whatever control they might have over Bitcoin, does not matter. The incentive to harm the network, are nullified by the incentive to do it.

If you kill the cow that are giving you milk, you will lose milk production. So why would you want to kill the cow?

The people saying this, do not know how the consensus work and how decentralize Bitcoin is. If China stop all mining and nodes, the network will still exist in many other countries. ^smile^
12202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will mobile devices serve as BTC full nodes in the future? on: November 08, 2016, 05:51:06 AM
My question would be, why would you want to use your mobile phone for that? You do not need the mobility for running a node. You can buy a inexpensive Raspberry Pi and run a node at home from a reliable internet connection. You just need to use a web wallet on the phone, so this is just not practical at the moment to run it on your phone.

In my country, mobile data is more expensive than fixed line rates, so it is not a option at all. ^hmmmmm^
12203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of this website JOLT corp on: November 08, 2016, 05:35:38 AM
We already have a service / website where all these scams are being listed or reported, so just visit this site : http://www.badbitcoin.org/ and report this site too, if it is not on the list yet. In some countries these sites are not illegal, so they are not being reported, but in most countries they are.

Thank you for asking and helping us to identify the bad apples in this community. ^smile^
12204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to open a bitcoin account? on: November 08, 2016, 05:30:27 AM
Hello Guys how to open bitcoin account?
I think what do you mean is how to open wallets bitcoin and you can try make wallet on https://blockchain.info/  , it is good for newbie , easy usage and simple way, because in bitcoins there are no account be needed, except you want open account on the markets. And welcome on bitcointalk you can try learning about bitcoins on here.

Just remember to activate 2FA, because these online wallets are not the first choice for people with high security requirements. If you have enough money, rather invest in a hardware wallet like Trezor for storing big amounts of bitcoins. Alternatively you can just create a secure paper wallet for long term cold storage.

More info about cold storage, can be found in the newbie section. ^smile^
12205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be a law on stolen bitcoins? on: November 08, 2016, 05:24:38 AM
I would like a specific organization to have jurisdiction over all borders on a global scale, for Crypto < Cyber crimes > They should specifically target Cyber crimes, where Crypto currencies are involved. This could be a private organization, funded by the community, but still governed by the local law enforcement agencies.

They provide the skill set, to supply information about the crime that was committed < because local law enforcement do not have that skill set > Go to a Police station now, and report your stolen bitcoins, and they will not even know what a bitcoin is. This will just be a community driven < Info Police
12206  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: IDEA: ICO for TV Pilot/Series based on Crypto-Community on: November 07, 2016, 07:10:43 AM
You will have to make it believable for people to get emerged into the "revenge" part of this. The research into the hacking techniques would need to be accurate too, because Mr. Robot has some pretty interesting scenes with those. I like the "Cat & Mouse" games being played between the government and the hackers, but with a twist.

It needs to be on the knife edge, like the "24" series with every episode ending in a cliffhanger, begging you to see what is coming next and combined with the NCIS plot, where main characters can die at any given moment.

Good luck with the project, cannot wait to see the pilot. ^smile^
12207  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: a concept about creating high-security holograms for paper wallet. on: November 07, 2016, 06:54:43 AM
So just to make sure I understand this correctly, the user creates the paper wallet with a pass phrase and then you only print the pass phrase for them in a hologram? Do they add the Bitcoin Address and the Private key later, when they receive the note?

That would be about the only way, I would be doing this. I will never surrender the private key to anyone to create it for me. ^hmmmmm^
12208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla's building a solar roof , It can be a good days for bitcoin miners? on: November 07, 2016, 06:37:41 AM
electricity has never been the biggest problem.

tiles are also not free.
so although you are not paying a monthly electric bill you are either repaying a loan to have the panels or paying a larger amount upfront to then get the savings (returns) later.

the main costs are the asics themselves

afterall..  due to hashrate rises every day, and difficulty rises every fortnight. its deemed best to try and get ROI within 6 months.

so even at zero.. you are still having to think about the.. THOUSANDS of $ to buy the tiles.
as for normal access to electric
one asic
at 20cents/kwh for 6 months electric = $900
at 10cents/kwh for 6 months electric =$450
at 5cents/kwh for 6 months electric = $225
and the $1600 to buy an asic

so paying thousands on solar power vs $225-$900 using normal electric providers is not a saving.

solar panels are only cheaper based on their 10 year lifespan, not on making bitcoin profits in 6months

In some countries the tiles are subsidized by the government, because they either do not have the capacity to supply enough electricity or they want to go "Green". They can just redistribute Carbon tax for this purpose. So the ROI on these tiles might be quicker for some, if they qualify for these tax subsidies. ^smile^

In the end, if you pay off the cost of these panels, you get a asset < that generate free electricity > as a reward for your effort, where other people have nothing and has to pay electricity bills. ^smile^
12209  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best place to sell large amounts of BTC? on: November 07, 2016, 06:26:51 AM
[assuming you really want to sell $100K worth of bitcoin]
a word of warning:

you may encounter some problems with your bank because that is a large amount of money and it is clearly going to come from a bitcoin exchange service and depending on your country, your bank may flag your account and you may face some troubles this can be taxes or worse.

You will not get in trouble by doing this, but you will get in trouble when you do get flagged and you want to avoid paying taxes on those bitcoins. Pay your tax, when it is due and you will not have to worry about the IRS. In some countries, Bitcoin is seen as a commodity, so you will only pay Capital Gains.

The banks normally flag transactions at 10k, but if you have a frequent 10k transaction history over a short period, they would flag that too. So there is no way to avoid paying taxes, when you working through regulated exchanges.
12210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin without china, how would it look? on: November 07, 2016, 06:14:30 AM
I cannot see why a country that is dominating one of the most important breakthroughs in the financial sector for centuries, would suddenly want to ban it? They dominate the hash power and also the global generation of a new currency.

The only thing I will see happening are that they would implement stronger regulations to control the money flowing out of the country at the moment. Stronger capital control, will strengthen their economy even further.

The other nations need to wake up, and start investing in this technology or they will be left behind. If the BRICS countries start to trade with Bitcoin, they would not need the rest of the world, to support Bitcoin.

BRICS is the acronym for an association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Originally the first four were grouped as "BRIC" (or "the BRICs"), before the induction of South Africa in 2010.
12211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: November 07, 2016, 06:04:56 AM
If you look at the internet, when it started out with ArpaNet, it has some similarities to the evolution of Bitcoin. It was a small network and people said it was only used by a selective group of scammers and pedophiles to spread crime. So we are in that stage now, where everyone seem to doubt if it should be used for anything else.

We will push through that barrier and evolve to the next levels, when mainstream adoption becomes a reality. ^smile^
12212  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: November 04, 2016, 07:36:17 AM
has long played here but never the same once I get the results of the lottery every week.. lol  Cheesy

What do you mean by played there? You play on their dice games or just claim their faucet? If you played their faucet, I think you can't never claimed their lottery because the chance is really low. Meanwhile if you are playing on their dice games, you might have the chance to get the lottery but until now there are no one that ever claimed it although they have a lot of tickets

Smiley
What do you mean "no one that ever claimed it " - Lottery is weekly, so every week someone wins.

Hi - LOW game (dice game) is a different thing, everyone play on own risk, but anyway if is using only faucet earnings, is not so risky Wink

Faucet with an option to win up to $200 - It is true that the probability of winning the top prize is very small, but you can also hit smaller prizes .. Each draw will give you a win.

Yeah no one ever claimed it that they get it or that is just some random address that they post. And i just dont believe it that they really have a lot of money to spend every week. They are just faucet, how can they get so much money to spend on each week lottery, doesn't make sense

The amount of money they generate is not a problem, because they have been one of the oldest faucet sites and until recently they received huge amounts of money from advertising. They also had in-house advertising, but this is also canned.

The two other revenue sources now, is the gambling side with the multiplier and the lottery system. A high % of the gamblers on this site, use the free payout to gamble on the multiplier or the lottery, so that money goes back to the site. < Most of it >

Nobody knows If this is sustainable, but for now they are still paying free bitcoins every week to the members that do not gamble. The multipliers house edge is a bit higher than most other sites, so they should get a big percentage of that money back.

Transparency is still a concern with the lottery, so the provably fairness of that cannot be verified.  Huh

I just dont underatand why they can get huge amount of money just from advertising? Although they are part of the oldest faucet but what they really give us is faucet though, if you compared some gambling site may be this wont be comparable and gambling site will have better payout of course

But in freebitco.in they generate new btc of lottery system which is not make my sense clear enough where does he got those money every week

You have to understand the number game, before you grasp the concept. The older the service the more members they have.   < If the service is good > So they offered a reliable faucet system that pays out every week. Once the numbers increased, they built other services on top of that < gambling & lotto >

What is better? Having a gambling service offering only gambling or having a faucet offering gambling and then linking all these things together? So you will have cross funding taking place between the advertisement income generated from the faucet and the income coming in from the gambling.

The gambling side are taking center stage now, since the advertisement revenue has dried up. You will now see the Multiplier pop up, just after you received your free faucet payout. < Just to remind you about the multiplier >

These guys know their business and they have been around for a long time, but full transparency with the lotto system, will hurt them more than it will do any good. If they find a solution to make the Lotto 100% provably fair, they will kill all competition.
12213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i sell my services for bitcoin ? on: November 04, 2016, 07:09:39 AM
OP, are you trolling this forum? You first start off by asking this question :

im new here in this site how can i sell my services here for bitcoin.. please help me about this

Notice the highlighted part.

Then he switch to this,

thanks now i know about this... when i have found good and usefull services i will start by selling thanks..

Why do you come onto a site asking for one thing, and then when people start asking questions about your service, you switch to something in general?

Is this just a language thing, or do you have specific services or goods you want to sell or promote? You have to be specific, or you would be flooded by useless responses. The forum is sub-divided into different sections for different goods and services, so it would make things much easier for us to respond, if we knew what you were selling.

The more information you give, the more detailed answers and advice you will receive. ^smile^
12214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Social Enterprises on: November 04, 2016, 06:32:16 AM

Bitcoin has given upon us the power to change finance for good. The block-chain, in its essence is a programmable system that enables us to instill ideals and virtues into it. Paper fails at doing this effectively. Think for a moment, the kind of world we could create, if we mobilized money towards existing projects that target social good, instead of throwing it away into the whims and fancies of a few anonymous developers. Together, we can ensure prosperity not only for the privileged few, but for the world at large. Together, day by day, penny by penny, we’d create a better tomorrow.

Bitcoin was given as a alternative for the Fiat system, but nowhere in the Satoshi white paper does it specifically say that it must be used primarily as a system to improve social economic problems. The natural byproduct of Bitcoin is, cheaper financial transactions and a permission less financial system.

So without having to force people to donate money to good causes, Satoshi also created a technology that would reduce poverty < Putting more money into people's pockets, because of lower fees > and also granting them access to a global financial network, without limitations. < Even micro transactions were made cheaper and affordable for poor people >

If you cannot change the people, then you change the technology they use. ^smile^
12215  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com vs Bitcoin.org? on: November 04, 2016, 05:51:34 AM
Bitcoin.com was started by Roger Ver, when Bitcoin XT failed and people were accusing Bitcoin.org of censorship. Theymos made it clear that Bitcoin XT were seen as a Alt coin and a direct competitor to Bitcoin. Why would you allow people to promote a competitor product on your platform?

Just imagine if say, Mercedes-Benz created a forum for their users to discuss Mercedes-Benz and then supporters of Ford came onto the site to promote Ford. Would you allow that? So a group of the Gavin supporters fell for the censorship excuses and they joined up with Bitcoin.com.

Now Roger Ver is using that platform to promote his gambling and mining schemes and such, and a small percentage of users are still using the site. So now that Bitcoin XT failed, Roger Ver jumped onto the next implementation, called  Bitcoin Unlimited, which is also a direct competitor of Bitcoin Core. < Anyone seeing the pattern here? >

If you cannot take Bitcoin Core, then you have to settle for the competitor to grab a percentage of the market.
12216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuelans are turning to bitcoin as the bolívar crumbles on: November 04, 2016, 05:30:26 AM
just FYI, Venezuela has a 31.1 million population as of 2015 and a 400-500BTC daily volume on localitcoins means there is only a small number of people are doing the bitcoin trading.

if Venezuelans had embraced bitcoin it means that at least 20 million people had embraced it which means 0.00002BTC each Cheesy

Something you have to keep in mind is that only 54.9% of the population have access to the internet. The declining oil industry is perhaps the most urgent problem of Venezuela's economic crisis. I think most people are concentrating on buying food, not Bitcoin as a investment.

Their biggest problem is stupid government policies that are destroying a great economy with a huge potential. Solve that, and the people will prosper and only then, will they start buying Bitcoin.
12217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach people to download software wallets? on: November 04, 2016, 05:19:41 AM
To be brutally honest, I do not know if it is a good thing for them to use these wallets, with all the security flaws these wallets seem to have. I would rather support one movement, where people are encouraged to use hardware wallets from the start, but at the moment these hardware wallets is too expensive and some people will not be able to afford it.

These companies should find ways to subsidize these devices, to make them more affordable.
12218  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: signature campaign rank sells on: November 03, 2016, 06:51:52 AM
OP, I have looked through your post history and most of your posts are in the Off topic area. This area are one of the sections excluded from most of the signature campaigns for payment, because it is mostly not Bitcoin related and a source of a lot of general discussion on other topics.

If you buy a account linked to a signature campaign, and you continue posting in those sections, you would get kicked within the first payment period.

A signature campaign should be seen as a added bonus or a reward system for users for quality posting and adding value to the forum, not as a method to earn money. You put content quality first, and then the reward will come naturally.
12219  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: November 03, 2016, 06:33:36 AM
There are too many different opinions based on religion, culture and politics preventing this from happening. I know some religions believe that "one" currency are a sign that we are approaching the end of the world. Here is one example : http://www.bibleprophecyandinspiration.com/?p=538

Fiat money allows government to take out loans to an unlimited extent because fiat money by definition can be produced without limitation, without commercial limitation or technological limitation, and can be produced in whatever amount is desired.

12220  Other / Off-topic / Re: How would you make money from this project? on: November 03, 2016, 06:18:37 AM
It depends on how this token will be used. They could use the token for flight bookings, where the ticket are linked to the Blockchain and the passenger just need to scan a QR code on arrival. < Ticket less flights > So you only need to provide identification and all transactions are logged on the Blockchain.

They could also store baggage information, or manage Airline Miles for passengers and the Aircraft repairs and parts can be logged on the Blockchain.

There are endless opportunities with this technology. ^smile^
