12201  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto GitHub Account on: August 02, 2018, 04:36:21 PM
I cannot imagine that this is Satoshis account.
It's not.

Maybe this account was created by his E-Mail hacker
You are correct.

Already explained here:
No, Satoshi did not join Github 2 days ago. In fact, Satoshi does not have a Github account (at least associated with the name Satoshi Nakamoto) and he never used Github. The move to Github happened after Satoshi left.

This account appears to have falsely taken attribution for some of Satoshi's commits. This occurs because any Github account can add any email that they want to the Github account and Github will show any commits with that email as belonging to that account, even if the email is unverified. We normally keep the emails of Satoshi, sirius, and laszloh under this account: https://github.com/non-github-bitcoin. However I didn't notice that the satoshin@gmx.com email was used before in the commit history, so someone has claimed that as theirs with a different Github account. I'm currently talking to Github about this and hopefully it will be resolved soon.
12202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: send from "1xxx..." to "3xxx..." ? on: August 02, 2018, 04:33:03 PM
Yes.

P.S: There is no such thing as "old format"; Both formats are fully compatible and usable. The difference is that those starting with a 1 are Legacy addresses and 3 are P2SH addresses (in most cases, multi-sig or nested Segwit).
12203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about Cooper member on: August 02, 2018, 04:26:57 PM
They can't registered by their self, they said. ( we know this as an evil ip case). So they must pay a small amount of bitcoin first to enable posting feature.

Let me ask here. If they did that (paid small fee), will their account be a copper member too ?
If the value is equal (or more) to the price of a Cooper Member upgrade (0.00208333BTC), then yes. If it's lower, the price of the Cooper Member upgrade will be the normal price (0.00208333BTC) minus the amount he paid on his evil units.

Unfortunally there is nothing you can do. Your coins are gone.

Sorry for your lost. 50k is no joke.

IIRC you can choose to hide the rank in the same page you bought it.
12206  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a copy/paster? on: August 02, 2018, 10:54:37 AM
You are not crazy. There is a website that does this.

I'm on my phone rn, so if no one links it here, I'll get it and edit my post later.

Edit: here it is https://spinbot.com
12207  Other / Meta / Re: My account was banned for "Running an on-forum altcoin giveaway / Incentivising" on: August 01, 2018, 10:01:33 PM
I could wait 30 days but my thread has been deleted as well.
Is there any way to shorten the ban and return the thread? How can I contact Mod to find out more as they PRV are disabled;/
Can you post a link to your (now deleted) thread? You can't shorten the ban and the thread will remain deleted. When the ban is over, you can create a new one (that doesn't break the rules).

Don't try to evade your ban by posting with this account outside this appeal thread. Or this account will be banned and the time of the first ban will be increased.
12208  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] CoinMixer.se - Bitcoin Mixing Service on: August 01, 2018, 08:34:01 PM

Obviously a scam. CoinMixer has discontinued their services and they would post here if they ever wanted to come back online.

This is not even their domain.
12209  Other / Meta / Re: Mistranslations on: August 01, 2018, 05:01:55 PM
Report to the mods? No.

What you can do is create a thread in the Reputation board with the details about the user's translation. If it's clear that he's trying to cheat the bounty by making a google translated or awful translation (due to him not speaking that language), he will probably get a negative tag.
12210  Other / Meta / Re: The most polite user of Bitcointalk on: August 01, 2018, 04:23:34 PM
Out of your 164 merits, you got 102 from xandry (Staff)
Don't know why a Staff give you merits a total of 101 time. All of those are deleted too. I believe a staff member can never abuse with the merit system but this made me thinking once again.

Electron Cash is also an SPV wallet. And it's probably easier to import.

The Bitcoin.com is probably safe as well. But I prefer not trusting Roger Ver.
12212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to protect myself from RBF? on: August 01, 2018, 02:56:35 PM
What wallet are you using?
If you are receiving a big amount of BTC, you could wait for 3 or 6 confirmations just to be safe. But the truth is that 1 confirmation is enough for most of the cases.
12213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to protect myself from RBF? on: August 01, 2018, 02:37:14 PM
Wait until the transaction gets at least 1 confirmation.

RBF isn't a double spend attempt. You can read more about it here: https://bitcoincore.org/en/faq/optin_rbf/
12214  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is the BCH (fake Bitcoin) Bitcoin Cash wallet free of viruses? on: August 01, 2018, 02:34:38 PM
Which one?

Electron Cash and Bitcoin ABC (full node) are safe.
12215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Problem. Please help on: August 01, 2018, 04:41:17 AM

Contact the exchange and try to explain the situation. They are literally the only ones who can recover your BTC. No one else.

Which exchange was that? Some will not bother to recover your coins, while others will charge a fee for that.
12216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Problem. Please help on: August 01, 2018, 04:21:59 AM
Why didn't you answer my question instead of complaining about people mocking your English?

Where did you send the BTC? To an exchange, friend, specific website or to your own wallet? Please be specific if you need help.
12217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase withdrawal issues on: July 31, 2018, 06:49:58 PM
There is not really anything you can do. Is your BTC still locked in the account?

Either keep contacting their support or create a thread in the r/btc, r/bitcoin or /r/CoinBase subreddit. I'm pretty sure they don't check the threads here, but if your post gets a good amount of upvotes on Reddit, you will soon get the attention you need. And they tend to just ignore you unless you get into the front page.
12218  Other / Meta / Re: Why this marked as "unhadled"? on: July 31, 2018, 06:42:41 PM
I think "unhandled" can also mean the post was deleted already before seeing your report.

~
Isn't the title of the post marked like this when the post gets deleted? I went through the user's post history and the ref link spam is still there.

BTW, I also received a few "bad" reports even that the post got deleted and it was the typical "good project" one-liner spam (not really an issue at the end of the day).

Edit: just checked his profile again and the posts are gone.
12219  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: MEW Connect. What do you think? Is it secure as an hardware wallet as they claim? on: July 31, 2018, 04:35:42 PM
It's still not as good as a traditional hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor, KeepKey...), but it's definitely a step in the right direction. I'm still not sure how exactly this will work out, but looks like a phishing website still can put their own QR code on the user's page, making him connect his wallet on the hacker's end.

Also, it's only an android/iOS app. So there are no real downsides on trying it out (you don't have to buy anything).
12220  Other / Meta / Re: Dear moderator of EXCHANGES it's impossible to tell users about scammers on: July 31, 2018, 10:05:05 AM
You should raise these concerns through pm or official mail instead of making it public.
So he shouldn't be warning the users about the open scam accusations against ChangeNow?
