here is a amd 5500 at 260 sold by amazon
https://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-5500-Graphic-Card/dp/B0843CM44Z/ref=sr_1_20?dchild=1&keywords=amd+5500&qid=1606826056&sr=8-20

You know, bitcoin hits 19666 a few mins ago on stamp and we're all talking about a 5 cent bet....

God I love this new normal.

It is because 19500- 20500 is about right for mining profits to be sustainable.

Once we get to 25k-30k later in December I will begin to get a bit excited.
12223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: December 01, 2020, 02:41:03 AM
7 of top ten are 2020 numbers.

And we closed out November with every day above 13700. An all time first for any month to remain that high for every day.

To me I lots more at high levels.

I think in December of this year we will push all the under 12000 off the top 100 list.

I also think we will push all the under 13000 off the top 100 list

that would mean at least 22 good days.
12224  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH then correction of 35%+ on: December 01, 2020, 12:22:16 AM
You heard it here first.

 Cheesy

No we hit it and fall back a little.  Dance around 19500-20500

we will eventually move hard up to the range of 25k-30k.

This December

In January a big correction maybe 14-16k

Then take off in fall of 2021 over 50k.

12225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 01, 2020, 12:18:53 AM
It is a weird feeling to be upset about corn being stuck between 19 and 19.5... we're spoiled.

Well it is not much for miners.

July 2019 price was 13k or so.

This 19.2k is sort of that due to diff increases and 1/2ing

For me a miner  25k-30k  December 2020 =  13k July 2019

but when we got to the price of 13k in  July 2019 we tanked for quite a while.

19k is very sustainable number for mining.

30k right now is too high to stay.

Think what I do mine and hold eventually selling on upswings at tiered levels.

So if a big time miner has hodl hard and long he will dump like a mofo at some level.

The level is not 19k
The level is about 30k for me.

Dump my larger holdings at 30k and hope for a strong correction.

There are major mines that hodl and could dump at the 30k level.

Remember they will earn coins back via mining and be very flush.

I still think this cycle above can happen at the 30k level.
12226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3080 hashrate drop list on: November 30, 2020, 09:08:08 PM

12227  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rack Style Mining (AntRack) on: November 30, 2020, 08:52:10 PM
WTF kind of flow spec is 6.9-9 tons per hour??
You talk to any facility services engineer/manager or any industrial cooling company and they will think you are a loon if you use weight to specify flow rate...

Flow is always spec'ed as gallons or liters per sec or min or hr. The only variant I've ever seen was in cu-ft or cu-meters which are still volumetric units. NEVER in my 40+ years in the systems design biz have I seen flow spec'ed as weight.

FYI, if you don't mind doing math, 1 ton of (distilled) water = 224 imperial gallons (1.018 m3)

9 x 224 = 2000 gallons an hour.

So do we have a pump for 10 racks which recycles at 33 gallons a minute

If the pump dies do all 10 racks go off line?

Or is there a backup pump?

So we are knocking at 19k again

maybe this time. we pass 19 and 20k and 21k in under 36 hours!

I am ready to sell  some  at 20.9k  just a small piece

I am not opposed to the idea of selling BTC on the way up, but it just seems to be so problematic for a purported BTC supporter to be celebrating such activities.

In other words, philip, you need an attitude adjustment..

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Remember my coins are always 50% cheaper due to my power deal.

Since I purchased quite a bit of gear to mine from July 1 to Nov 30.  I need to pay it off.

I have break points.

13000 small sale
13500 small sale
14000 small sale
14500 small sale
15000 small sale

hodl til 19k

2 sales
at the 19k price.

dip purchased some PayPal btc for fun.

will now hodl till 20.9k

20.9k
21.4k
21.9k
22.4k

hodl till 25k

Simply can not hodl  as much until I pay down the gear purchases from July 1 to Nov 30

But I always hodl some of the coins.

All asics paid off.
All gpus will pay off in 10-15 days.

Around dec 15  I can hodl harder as I go to 0 gear debt.
12229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 30, 2020, 03:44:30 PM
20 k coming up

21k. soon to follow

Looks like 25-30k by new years.

then Jan-Feb correction to 14-16k

then the real bulls get loose in fall 2021

50k is reasonable by dec 2021.
12230  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 Pro no longer hashing. Bad ASICs ? on: November 30, 2020, 03:29:24 PM
Okay where are you ?

Tell me you are in NJ, USA I can help.

As I am in that state.

If you are not close by

12232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 30, 2020, 02:26:57 PM
Been out all day, had new brake pads fitted on my car. Haven’t checked the price all day until just now, niiiiiiice!

Wonder if the ATH is getting broken today?

it looks like it would only take some minutes now.

Feels like it has run out of steam a bit ... just taking a breather or done for today?

She has to catch her breath.  Maybe in an hour or two.

JJG?

Ok challenge for y’all.

Which cars will appeal to Gen X and Millennials and sky rocket in price over the next 20 years?

Tesla?

First year model?

With original oem battery?

That would be that one or https://youtu.be/OhnjMdzGusc?t=188

Years later came Edison's electric car 1912
https://youtu.be/Jw8uiiNHzMs

Your blind faith in those electronic things is touching. I'm not sure if I'd keep anything that has too much electronica on the inside as an investment car. The charm of an old-timer is exactly in its mechanically driven power, not in its electronics. I'd still go for a 1995-2010 Mercedes, Saab or BMW, as long as it's in good condition and hasn't reached old-timer status yet, otherwise you might be too late already. And with as few electronics as possible.

I think that would be a bad time frame to buy one of those.  More likely something older than those dates is better choice.

I used to play with 1960-1979 cars which had zero electronics.  Once the 80's came around most cars changed and started to get some electronics in them.

I am pretty sure  1995 and newer Mercedes has electronics and 1995 BMW and newer has  electronic controls. I have a  friend that owned a BMW dealership/repair shop

So I think you are not picking an old enough date to make sure the cars are not computer tuned.

fail order likelihood

1) hash boards
2) psu
3) controller

If you did what I said it points to a dead psu a little more than a dead hash board.

How to test if it is not the psu?

pull a working psu from another unit that must be working.

Take the psu from the dead unit and put it to the good unit.

if the good unit works than the suspect psu is good.

I am pretty sure if you do this the good unit will not work.

that brings use back to is it a dead controller?

take the dead or suspect unit pull the controller swap it to the working unit.

if the working unit still works.

it means your psu's and your controllers are all good.

what is left? the hash boards.
