Yes gambling is wrong if you are addicted. For me is not that wrong if you are doing for entertainment and to earn money.
That's the thing with it, as long as you think you can earn money with gambling you are most likely addicted. Never consider gambling as a way to earn money or you will lose everything you have and even everything you'd borrowed.

I came across some site which is like a bitcoin washing site but peer to peer, the site itself acts like an escrow and allows people to trade apparently 'dirty' bitcoins(maybe from hacked wallets im thinking or stolen, scammed etc) for 'clean' bitcoins. Now i don't know if it's legit the whole idea of it. I always thought bitcoins were anonymous either way why would someone even do that and lose 30 coins?
Although I'm quite new to this stuff so if anyone knows more about this stuff I'd be happy to hear your opinions/experiences on this.
Although apparently there are some people who would need a service like this, still they are asking too much IMO. I used to think some time ago that there is no difference between so called "clean" and "dirty" Bitcoins but I was wrong: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3mea6b/bitpay_is_blacklisting_certain_bitcoins_rejecting

I like the scheme made by OP. It is quite accurate ... well, statistically. But for everyone of us it is irrelevant whether we have 90% or 10% chance of winning. What matters is whether we actually win or lose. So gambling can be profitable in the long run as much as it can't.

There's the 10,000 BTC pizza. And a few old timers in these forums have mined 50 BTC blocks a few times per day on CPUs. There's that Swedish? guy who mined 5000 BTC and bought an apartment a few years later. And there's that guy who threw away his hard drive with a few thousand BTC in it. I think this is basically what happened to most people's money back then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DT7bX-B1MgIf I remember well, the Swedish guy bought 18€ worth of Bitcoin in Swedish Crown and then bought a flat in the rich district of Stockholm. I think that guy is from Norway. Yes, the guy is from Norway. He invested 150 kroner ($26.60) in 5,000 bitcoins in 2009, sold them in 2013 for $886,000 and bought an apartment in a wealthy area of Oslo. Here's the article about it: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/dec/09/bitcoin-forgotten-currency-norway-oslo-home

With the US Powerball jackpot now at $700 million, I'm curious about a scenario where a single winner dumps the entire lump sum into the BTC exchange and locks it up for years. What would the effect on the market be immediately after and for the next few years? What would happen to the market in the future if they decide to cash out as the richest person who ever lived?
whit 700M, you don't need to do this, just relax and enjoy your life in a beach whit hot girls ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Although I think that enjoying your life with one hot girl is better than doing it with girls , I like this reply the most. Back to OP's question: since there are around 6 billion dollar's worth of Bitcoin in the world now the dumping of $700 million into the BTC exchange would definitely impact the price but not much, maybe 20-25% which is a normal thing for Bitcoin even when there are no apparent reasons for that. )

Im not quite sure why anyone would actuall want a newly mined coin over one thats been round the block a few times, The whole tainted coins thing should be irrelevent in that just because your coin has been used possibly for something illegal in the past should be of no concern to the current holder.
I dont think ive ever even looked back though any of my addresses to see how new any of my coins are because i really dont care, i guess for some this may be a big thing though. who knows.
Same here. Why should we care whether the coins "new and clean" or "old and dirty"? They are all just like any other money ffs, we can't know about their hystory and we should bother either IMO. People care, because you never know when you can be in such situation like this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3mea6b/bitpay_is_blacklisting_certain_bitcoins_rejectinghttp://www.bitedge.co/blog/coinbase-restricts-users-for-gambling-transactions/Wow! thanks for the links. Somehow I didn't know about this stuff happening. Blockchain analysis is real business now as they say. I should read more about this stuff.

No gambling = 80% less signature campaigns = less forum traffic and less usage of Bitcoin.
I can understand the signatures are bringing a lot of traffic to forum and particularly from gambling but how does that affects the usage of bitcoin ? People also leave when they are not interested no matter what gambling/earning opportunity they are given Signature campaigns draw many people to this forum who wouldn't otherwise be here. More people here = more people are interested in Bitcoin. More people are interested in Bitcoin = more people are using Bitcoin. I know there are some highly regarded members of this community who are against Signature campaigns, but I disagree with them on this point. I think Signature campaigns are good for Bitcoin in general.

Went from 0.19 BTC to 84 BTC. Still waiting on the withdraw confirmation, and still can't believe it actually happened ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Just want my money ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) did you type wrong??? 0.19 to 84btc? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) not 0.84??? 84btc is a lot a lot!!!!! Yea that's not a typo. I might be one of the luckiest people with roulette. The next lucky people would be the ones that win millions from instant tickets and powerballs lol Wow! That's incredible! Congrats mate! I'm wondering what were the odds and did you withdraw finally? It is also interesting how much you've lost before that. What is your real profit?

I still hold my bitcoin in the wallet, there are about 2 ~ BTC, I've held almost one month of december last year, I can not trade them now, I am waiting pump of halving effect
You are absolutely right, hold them, don't sell them. Although I think Bitcoin will not pump a lot due to halving, but I'm sure it will be over $500 by summer so selling now is not a good decision.

Site is down? Is there going on some kind of unexpected maintenance?
its stuck on loading picture for me too, i wanted to play a little bit of dice and i did not manage to access it i hope everything will be solved as soon as possible PrimeDice is forever loading for me too. Things like this had already happened before and were solved by the team, so I hope everything will be okay pretty soon. PrimeDice will be fixed, trust me on this ) it hasnt been fixed if it is recurring issue. I disagree with you here. Say you have a water tap on your kitchen and when it breaks you fix it but two months later it breaks again. Does it mean you didn't fix it? No, of course it doesn't. There are some things which you should fix on a regular basis. PrimeDice is back and working good again btw. )

Do you mean chargeback ? Bitcoin transactions can not be charge back. Onse you press the button send and the transaction get confirmed, you can not cancel it .
So do not deal with people or sites you do not trust
Exactly this. ^ Although this has to do with other things too. Bitcoin just emphasizes how important to remebmer the obvious rules when trading or when doing any other operations with money (doesn't matter digital or fiat).

I'm prettttty sure that US users get restricted too. only they're too advanced and obsessed with anonymity that they didn't even notice.
haha, that's a good one! But actually I agree at least partly. PrimeDice is banned in the US as far as I know and nevertheless you can still see some people from the US in the PD chat. You know, if you want something badly you will find a way to do it.)

Gambling has only issues with it. Advantage is just having fun. Eventually , the issue is you loose everything.
In many cases (if not in most cases) yes, you lose everything in the end. But when this "everything" is just your balance which is less than 0.5% of your monthly income then it's not a big problem. It is still fun even though you lost "everything".

What was/is you biggest or best gambling session? Starting small ending way up? How much have you made in a single session?
I think my best gambling session was when I won the 9900x bet on Primedice after betting just 23 times with 200 sats. I won almost 0.02 BTC then but as far I had over 200K sats on my balance I thought why didn't I bet with 5k sats instead of 200 sats. I'd won 0.5 BTC then ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Bitcoin are quite risky, therefore i would advice to invest what you can miss.
Buying bitcoins today would be even more risky, so try to get some of those little coins in the 350 -380 range.
First of, I seriously doubt that Bitcoin will ever be below $380 again. Secondly I don't think that buying Bitcoin is more risky than investing in anything else. As we all know from history even the most "reliable" schemes fail sometimes.

The guy that hacked Bitstamp paid really high fees to get his stolen coins moved really fast because Bitstamp had figured out what he was up to. The hacker and Bitstamp had a battle to move the coins first because they both had the private keys.
Those transactions in the OP could have been made by a hacker who wanted to move stolen coins really fast, and who didn't care how high the fees were because they were paid with stolen coins.
I don't know what you are talking about. Haven't you checked the transactions? The total amount of both of them is around 3 BTC. Do you think it makes any sense to steel 3 BTC and to pay over 1 BTC as fees?

Donald Trump @ 8.6 Looks good ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I think they'll elect this clown. Attendance is not much in US so this clown can be easily elected. You know, you may be right. I was 100% sure half a year ago that Trump has no chances but now ... hm it all changes so fast in this world. And I even forgot that the Attendance is a factor too. People who don't like Trump don't like to go to the elections either.
