Bitcoin is use by at least 5% of the world as a payment method
Nonsense. It is used by less than 1% (< ~71 Million). In addition to that, there is no accurate way of measuring the usage of Bitcoin either.

The first things that come to my mind are: More spam, more account farming. Without a way of dealing with these problems, I disagree with the idea.

It is a sellers market when it comes to first edition metal TREZOR's. I can price it at whatever price that I feel comfortable with. If I want to depart with this magnificent piece of BTC history for $500, so be it. Who are you to say what it's worth is?
Nobody said that you can't price at it what you want, however that does not affect its value. You can try to sell it at $10k if you like, but that won't change the fact that it is worth X. This is why I wanted to see other auctions, in order to see whether this price can be justified. In order to not clutter up your thread further, please PM me if you have any information about other past sales/current ones.
Good luck with your auction.

These sold for $1000. Just like everything in the marketplace, the market decides the price (taking rarity, edition etc into consideration)
That does not justify a $500 premium. You do realize that there are certain things that are very rare and worth pretty much nothing? I'd like to see an example of 'the market' and other sales of the first edition, because if there was interest and the price was right, at least someone would have put a bid on it.

i cant understand the computation of activity. please explain more detail computation. i'm newbie. sorry for my question.
You don't need to understand it in detail. Simplified: It updates every 14 days and can increase a maximum of 14 points (if you make => 14 posts in that period).

It will definitely be positive publicity for bitcoin, since the blockchain is associated with bitcoin in people's minds. That might be one reason why the price may increase.
I disagree with this. If anything, they are trying to divert attention away from Bitcoin by promoting their own 'blockchain'-related ideas.

That or it may inspire spammers to step up their game to get to the Legendary board faster.
There is most likely always going to be some sort of con(s). We just have to weight the pros against them. You can't really 'step up your game' as a required amount of time needs to pass in order to achieve the Legendary rank. Sold account would get sniffed out pretty rapidly I would've thought.
They usually do, yes.

bitcoin, blockhain yes if they use it will the price rise?
Using blockchain technology does not imply using Bitcoin. You have to reform your question.
|
|
|
using blockhain tech e.g. using bitcoin
Using blockchain technology != using Bitcoin. I don't see how the usage of blockchain technology (especially since they can't properly define it yet) is going to have an affect on the price of a single Bitcoin.

What is supposed to justify the price of ~1500$? The rarity?
|
|
|
yes because bitcoin has not the single point of failure problem
Knowing Satoshi's identity does not have an effect on whether Bitcoin has a single point of failure or not. His anonymity don't have any advantage as far as i can think of but the coins that he didn't spent matters the most.
Correct. Bitcoin is decentralized. The feds could arrest Satoshi, torture him and threaten to execute him and it would be irrelevant so far as the bitcoin network is concerned. He has no control over it. T
That is what makes Bitcoin as strong and resilient as it is. Unless they're able to shut down all the nodes and mining operations at once, it will continue to operate.

I don't think that it does. Why would it? Tone Vays: If ALL Bitcoin development ended tomorrow, the system will remain fully functional for a while. Why not? This does not make sense. If Litecoin development ended right now, the system would still remain functional (for example).

How about a small flag icon besides our username?
There is nothing useful about having that option. It just adds unnecessary colors to the forum. I disagree with this one as well.

Please dont. German is not a country, its a language. The board is visited by people from many different countries speaking the same language. Thats like puting the english flag next to the international section. Its probably similar to other sections that reflect language spoken in a variety of countries (e.g. spanish).
I think likewise. Similar applies to the Croatian section (although it is a bit more complex due to other EXYU languages). It clearly states "Hrvatski" as in the language, not "Hrvatska" as in the country.

The main problem is that the very signature participants are constantly bumping up the threads of signature campaigns. This is why it seems like there is a flood of them.

So isn't it going to be prone to the price volatility of Bitcoin because we still value the game price with fiat? or the amount of bitcoin we deposited will be changed to fiat amount at the time of the transaction? please enlighten me...
It won't be affected by volatility because it will be instantly converted. IIRC Valve has stated that they would not be holding Bitcoins at any time.

Deposit funds? So we will have to send some BTC first to our Steam account and then pay the games with that?
Yes. Correct. I thought it would be more simple, just send the BTC directly after doing a checkout.
This is how it currently looks like. Obviously, there might be changes especially after the update. I don't see how that is 'much simpler'.
