12361  Other / Off-topic / Re: 20 Bitcoins or 1 satoshi multiplied time 2 everyday for 30 days on: October 04, 2016, 09:30:29 AM
I would take 0.5 bitcoin every day, even though this is much less than the 21 bitcoins I would get, if I followed the multiplier option. Getting 14 bitcoins for a months work, would be a absolute pleasure. Will I get screwed for this, or will I be the person doing the screwing? My method will guarantee me a steady income per day, and if you stopped paying me, I could just stop working. ^smile^ How many people can say that they earning 14 bitcoins per month?

12362  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and paying Tax on: October 04, 2016, 09:09:31 AM
Was their any stipulation in the Satoshi White paper where it states that Bitcoin was developed to assist in Tax evasion? Nope. A lot of people are using Bitcoin in a regulated environment. < Coinbase, BitPay, Circle, etc. > and these people's accounts are linked to their bank accounts. They pay their taxes and they operate within the laws of their countries. The rest, will bring the IRS onto themselves, when they are audited and it was found that they are using Bitcoin or any other Crypto currency to bypass taxes. ^smile^

Bitcoin is a P2P payment system, not a system developed to assist in tax evasion. ^hmmmm^
12363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Austin Hill and Blockstream can just fuck right off. on: October 04, 2016, 08:54:47 AM
OP, how much code did you write for any project as proof of your value? Looking at your post history, it seems as though you only moan and bitch about Bitcoin and bring nothing positive to the table. These trolls/shills are only a pain in the ass. The Blockstream people are adding a lot of value, and they are trying to make a difference. < Positive or negative, depending on what side you are looking from >

I side against the pessimists of this world. ^LoL^
12364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the innovation to promote Bitcoin? on: October 04, 2016, 06:47:14 AM
I would much rather see all this money going into discounts at big merchants to encourage new users to rather buy the cheaper goods and services with the Bitcoin discount, than the more expensive alternative with fiat and other payment options.

How much effort would it take to implement Bitcoin into your PoS systems and/or online eCommerce sites and then to offer huge discounts on specific items, if customers pay with Bitcoin? If people see these discounts, they would investigate further, and possibly become Bitcoin users.

The Freebies and Giveaways was nice, but people misused these opportunities for monetary gain. ^hmmmmm^
12365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You accidentally find Satoshi.....What would you do? on: October 04, 2016, 05:55:17 AM
You are sitting next to one of the greatest inventors or innovators in the world, damn! I would make friends and talk about Bitcoin every day. < Away from the office > I would learn from the master, if he allows me to. Information and knowledge is more powerful than any money or Bitcoin he could ever give me, so I would rather learn how to do it on my own than to ask him for handouts. ^smile^

This would be the opportunity of a life time, to be close to someone as awesome as this. He or she will become one of the legends of our time and for generations to come.
12366  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Tails and Electrum Bitcoin Wallet on: October 04, 2016, 05:43:53 AM
I see the latest Tails 2.6 - 20160920 has the Electrum Bitcoin Wallet built into the Operating System. The download was verified, so it's not compromised in any way. Is this old news or are you using this wallet with Tails?

I would hope other Operating systems would also partner up with wallet providers to offer this option as a standard and not as a additional feature. This will help with mainstream adoption and increase general Bitcoin use.

Has anyone used this feature and would you trust a third party, if they included these wallets into your OS?
12367  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CAUTION ATTENTION! on: October 03, 2016, 06:55:56 AM
Quite ballsey to make a deposit when there is an issue with a large amount that is not being paid out.. I mean, there are enough other sites that offer similar stuff that don't currently have isues.

I hope you get your deposit credited and will be able to withdraw. Looking from the recent feedback though, I doesn't look very good.

I think the problem is, not all the users on that site might be aware of the problem with the high roller not getting paid. OP should change the title, as suggested by #NLNico to make sure the users browsing this section, would notice that there are issues at Pocketdice.io

OP, should also include a link to this thread, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1620544.0 to highlight the matter even more. We do not want bad operators running away with people's money, and giving the other legitimate operators a bad reputation. ^hmmmm^
12368  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for ideas to make bitcoin betting website more popular on: October 03, 2016, 06:44:05 AM
Throw money at the problem, it always works. ^smile^ Like any other business, you have to attract attention and the only way to do that, would be to offer monetary rewards for people to promote your site. This could be in the form of massive give-aways, or signature campaigns or a referral network with high payments at the start.

Sometimes, it takes some money to make some money. The banner advertisements on some of these faucet sites are also cheap and you would be targeting Bitcoin users. ^smile^
12369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who control bitcoin network? on: October 03, 2016, 06:13:02 AM
Since bitcoin is decentralized so who actually makes the transaction, and who control blockchain and it's ledger. So one manage blockchain could they take our money?

I make the transaction, you make the transaction, every people who transfer bitcoin create the transaction, blockchain is not controled by anyone but overseen by everyone that have connection to it.  No one can take your money unless you give it to them, you can trust bitcoin security more than you trust banks.

You are wrong with one part of your statement. The Blockchain are controlled by the people running the software <protocol> If the majority consensus are reached to change something, it would get done. You as a individual will have no control over that. The only control you will have, is if you side with the majority and run the software they run.

I am getting technical, because it is not totally out of the question that the majority could be influenced to do something, that might not be in their best interest. < Block size debate >
12370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone here use BTCTraderBot? on: October 03, 2016, 06:04:06 AM
I am rather hands on, when it comes to my money matters. I do not trust 3rd party software or other people with my money. < Scrooge McDuck syndrome > It is for this reason, why I do not use any service, where they hold the private key. In any way, if something is to good to be true, it probably is. ^hmmmmm^

Bitcoin is not a "Get rich quick scheme"

12371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's wrong with my current cold storage? on: October 03, 2016, 05:49:07 AM
Most of your storage methods, do not include a backup plan. You never store only 1 copy of your paper wallet. You never store all paper wallets in 1 location. I have 3 locations with 3 copies of each paper wallet. For example : 1 copy in a safe deposit box / 1 copy in safe place at home / 1 copy buried in a time capsule.

I know the reason for this post, is to promote your device, but your storage methods needs redundancy to allow for disasters happening in your area. ^smile^
12372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 92 gigs? Wowwzers. on: October 03, 2016, 05:39:43 AM
it should be noted that there is a slight compounding growth experienced by the blockchain, and so it might be something like 2035/2040 that it hits 1TB.

Obviously if the rate is different then the date will change, but the statement wasn't about attempting to predict future growth rates.  The statement was about what would happen if it continued at this rate.

That being said...

Please explain. What is the cause of the compounding growth? I'm not aware of any.

It's difficult to predict how many blocks will be less than full in the future.  If EVERY block is COMPLETELY full from now on, then the rate of growth will be about 4.38 GB per month.  Unless the maximum allowed blocksize (or the average time between blocks) is changed in the future, the blockchain won't grow any faster than that.

Just another reason why we should not increase the Block size to something much bigger than it is now. The average block is not full at all, so we need to consider if any upgrade is necessary at this moment. SegWit and the Lightning network would help a lot with capacity issues and would also prevent that the Blockchain would grow to big to keep up with storage limitations. < Not that we have any issues with it, because it is fairly cheap>
12373  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Other forum site that earn bitcoin? on: September 30, 2016, 07:38:41 AM
Can anybody know what are the other forum site that you can earn bitcoin? Can you give some link because I like earning in forum site. Because I am a wide reader what I mean is a book worm.

Seeing that you are a book worm, you might want to try out http://www.paidbooks.com/ The site pay small amounts of Satoshi for every page you read. I used it for a while, but they only have old books and I prefer certain authors and they do not have them.

It is not in any way close to the payment you would have received from a signature campaign on this forum, but you will be paid for something you love doing, which is reading. ^smile^
12374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: can we in Africa really successful mining bitcoin. on: September 30, 2016, 07:07:20 AM
can we in Africa really successful mining bitcoin?
What are the similar advantages an African country will be having when compared to China?
African countries are known for its very hot climate, so bitcoin mining would be a big challenge as cooling process would be significantly difficult. I guess only few African countries will have the saturation levels in electricity power generations and no known data on cheaper electricity across African countries.
In Africa it's so hot..... and the temperature of an environment in Africa is not worth for mining at this time and like he are saying you will need a more of a fan for cooling your mining hardware.

There are some areas at higher altitudes, which might be suitable for mining operations. Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. It is the highest mountain in Africa, and rises approximately 4,900 m from its base to 5,895 metres above sea level. Also, Sutherland is the coldest town in South Africa, with an average yearly temperature of 11.3 °C and an average annual minimum temperature of 2.8 °C.

Lesotho located in Southern Africa is the coldest country in Africa. The Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) is an ongoing water supply project with a hydropower component.

We have done some research to see if Bitcoin mining can be profitable in Africa, and it seems as though this might just be a option, if you can find the correct location. ^smile^
12375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 ways to grow more bitcoins and ways to lose it on: September 30, 2016, 06:52:37 AM
Most PayPal transactions turns out to be a scam, with the transactions being reversed and PayPal taking sides against the Bitcoiners. We have more than enough legitimate services, where people use Escrow to buy and sell bitcoins. The regulated exchanges will never use PayPal payments, because they know it is a scammers paradise. ^hmmmm^
12376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cheating a Bitcoin Cheater on eBay/Paypal. on: September 30, 2016, 06:40:45 AM
I'm a little confused here. You said the second "scammer" paid you the money for the Bitcoins and never received his Bitcoins. If you're taking his money and not sending him the Bitcoins, does that not make you a scammer instead?

Not if this is done to scam the scammer. The moment the scammer tries to reverse the transaction, you know he is trying to scam you. You rely on two things happening with this, which would be that PayPal would reverse the transaction and that the zero fee transaction would not be picked up by a miner, doing a good deed for the day. ^hmmmm^

I would not recommend people to try this, because it can back fire and you could lose a lot of money. Just buy Bitcoins on a exchange or Localbitcoins.
12377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ho is going to host a 100TB blockchain ??? on: September 30, 2016, 06:27:12 AM
By that time, many big companies will have invested in Bitcoin all over the world. They currently invest 1000's of dollars in PoS systems to operate, so why would they not invest in a single server with a big hard drive to support the Bitcoin network?

The Blockchain < Pruned version > is much smaller, if you have capacity issues, and second hand hard drives are damn
cheap. ^smile^
12378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the State on: September 30, 2016, 06:16:38 AM
When the state ban Bitcoin, they effectively ban all Crypto currencies, and all these banks and other financial institutions working on Blockchain technologies, will be f$%ed too. The state or governments of the world rely on tax income, and the economy generate that income. Bitcoin is a new technology with lots of opportunities for new innovative job opportunities.

If they ban Bitcoin or any other Crypto currency, they will shut down a huge opportunity to create extra jobs and also to generate extra state taxes. ^hmmmmm^
12379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who control bitcoin network? on: September 30, 2016, 06:07:04 AM
It will all come down to a question: Who can control it through a lot of bitcoin in his hand?
No, it doesn't come down to that. Having a lot of Bitcoin does not imply any control whatsoever.

Own a lot of it then you will see how fast it will move with just thousands of bitcoin to trade or cash it out.
This is useless.

I am going to throw a Spanner into the works now, by saying some developers with commit access have some control over the changes that will or will not be made to the protocol. You still have the choice to go on your own, but if your proposal do not pass the Core team's approval, it will not be considered. Do you agree? ^hmmmm^

This is causing some friction between developers who are not part of the Core team, and the developers on the outside, who wants to contribute, but blocked from the inside. As I said, you are still welcome to do your own thing, and not to include your proposal into the Bitcoin protocol. ^?Huh?^
I don't. The project is open-source for a reason, and anyone can work on it if they choose to. The developers also think and act independently, as in some may like a set of changes while others won't. I doubt that the developers would reject a (good) proposed implementation just because 'you're not part of Core team'. Also, having commit access to a Github repository does not give you any kind of control over Bitcoin.

If commit access to a Github respository gives you no control, why then did they remove Gavin's commit access? The person with the key to the castle, can decide to open the door or to keep it closed. It is for this reason, why several people within the Core team, are given commit access and not only one.

We cannot deny the crucial influence this may have, if someone with malicious intent, could get sole access to that respository. < Sending out false alarms and distributing malicious code, as if it came from the Core team >

Correct me if I am wrong, please. ^smile^

Just add something to this thread created here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1630347.msg16398340#msg16398340 because the OP did not seem to know that you have a dedicated thread for your site. Before reading this thread, I speculated that you might be under some Ddos attack or something, because sites like this only goes down, when they are under some kind of attack.

Hope you can clear up the problems soon, so that the enjoyment can continue. ^smile^
