I am mining N5 with cayars nvminer 1.2. Two rigs on Windows 7 64 bit and both using 335.23 driver. Only difference is cpu and gpu manufacturer but way different results. Gpu's are factory overclocked and at these settings. Cpu's are not overclocked.

Rig A: GPU- 5 750ti's (EVGA SC)      CPU- AMD Phenom II X6 1100T   (cpu usage about 25% usage, avg)    Speed: 35,500 Kh/s or 7,100 Kh/s each card    MOBO: Gigaybyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
Rig B: GPU- 5 750ti's (MSI OC)        CPU- AMD Phenom II X3 710      (cpu usage about 70% usage, avg)     Speed: 26,900 Kh/s or 5,380 Kh/s each card   MOBO: Gigaybyte GA-MA790X-UD4P

In my Rig A the gpu load stays above 90% but in Rig B gpu load fluctuates between 30-85%. This happens on all cards in each machine. Both machines have the cards on the same kind of powered usb risers. I can't get the Rig B to over 90% load for nothing. This happens now (I never noticed before but Rig B has always been slower) for any algo mining.

Could it possibly be the cpu? Just curious before I drop money on the cpu. I also know the mobo are not the best in the world but they were very cheap when I got the a while ago. I know I can swap cpu's also but would rather get you all's advice/opinions first. I would rather just go and get a new cpu if needed.

So for giggles I am trying to solo mine in the wallet.

What does this mean?

@bigjme

cudaminer home page looks awesome. I like how you made the navigation.

Hopefully someone can help me.
I opened my wallet (CryptoNote Wallet v0.2.1) and I get "Status: Can not connect to daemon"
Any ideas how to get the wallet going again?
I don't know what GUI wallet you use but you need to have all the files from the normal wallet.
Keep everything in one folder.
Be sure to be up-to-date for both normal wallet and GUI wallet. If you didn't update for some time, I am sure it is not gonna work. Check the GUI wallet thread for all updates and read.
Always have a backup of your personal wallet (the key files).
I followed your guide in op step by step. Everything ran fine until 7/7/14. I downloaded the exact gui wallet in the op except mine said "cryptonote wallet v0.2.1" instead of your "cryptonote wallet v0.1.5"
Even if I try and run the simple wallet, when I refresh I get an error message "Error: Wallet failed to connect to daemon (http://localhost:(port #). Daemon either is not started or passed wrong port. Please, make sure that daemon is running or restart the wallet with correct daemon address."
I have no idea how all of this happened.

There is no working GUI wallet exept this one :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683365.0

If the wallet files are corrupted you can delete the .bin wallet file and open from the .keys file.

Finally figured it out.

AVG was blocking it from running but it didn't notify me about it.

Found it out by doing something else.
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero Client .NET - A GUI wallet made for Windows on: July 11, 2014, 04:23:00 PM
Do I need to add anything anywhere?

I opened the wallet about 15 minutes now and it still says Address: initializing and 0 connections in bottom right.

No, everything should just run well out of the box. Just extract your files into a directory, and simply run 'MoneroClient.Net.exe'. Make sure that you:

  • Don't have multiple instances of bitmonerod or simplewallet running at the same time
  • Are running the application from a 64-bit system
  • Have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (or higher) installed

If your problem persists, please try deleting your 'bitmonero' directory at '%AppData%', and then try using the client software again. Please let me know about the results! Smiley

Got it going.

It looks like AVG flagged it as a virus and removed some files that I did not know. I disabled AVG and it is good now.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] ANI on: July 11, 2014, 04:43:42 AM
(...)

I started off with 1 GTX 670 back in January of this year. I now have the 1 Gtx670, 13 Gtx750ti's, 1 R9 280x, 1 R9 270x and 1 R9 270. Had 2 7850 but sold those. Waiting for the GTX880's to come out.

For me the best bang for the buck is the GTX750 ti's. Low power usage (I can run 5 of these on a 550 watt power supply). And they mine like crazy. I am getting about 3,560 kh/s from each 750ti. I have been solo mining Anime today for 12 hours so far and found  690 out of 695 blocks.

I have 4 rigs and can run 5 cards on each with powered usb risers. My main rig runs the 670 on the board and 3 750 ti's on the riser to help the heat.

I hear the Asrock Pro BTC mobo is popular and cheap. I got almost all of mine's from Fry's as "defective" boards for $5 each.

Like I said, I still consider myself a newb and still learning but having a lot of fun doing all this.

Yes, indeed, it seems fun. I will search it up and I will try to assemble a rig for me. The problem is that in my country (Brazil) everything is soooo expensive, even electricity. I also travel abroad quite a lot, but there's always the customs import limits :/ But I'll try... It's quite an expensive investment, anyway.

How about cloud mining? Would it work? Or, would it be profitable? I wonder.

I have never tried it but on a forum I am on people who do it and get the "right" coin at launch do well.

The tricky part is picking the "right" coin.

Those 750ti's burn under 60 watts per card. At least the non powered ones that I use. There are 6 pin connectors 750ti's but i don't use them.

I'll be honest. I have been lucky in picking coins. I treat them like stocks. Hold for the long term and and hope they build value.

Hope you find what is best for you.

Serious question, not trying to be funny.

Should I stop solo mining?

I have been solo mining for about 9 1/2 hours today and have found 533 blocks so far. I have read about 51% attacks and forking coins and that is not my intentions.

I have about 17.7 Mh/s with 5 750ti's running.

If I need to stop or use less cards to avoid any issues please let me know asap.

Well, I am always CPU mining Animecoin (with the wallet), in order to contribute to the network. I don't think you are causing any damage to the network, as long as you haven't got any evil intentions Wink. Much to the contrary, you are contributing a lot, form my (layman's) point of view. I can only thank you for your help.

If, maybe, anyone else here do not agree with me, please let us know your opinions.

Thank you, antonio8 for sharing your concerns with us.

Please do your best. I am sure your intention is to contribute to Animecoin's growth, and I am very happy with it Smiley

Thanks for the reply. I'll continue to solo for a few days then.

I consider myself a newb still so I don't even know what evil intentions are. I just mine a lot on Dedicated and people complain about how they can always 51% coins. I was just wanting to make sure I am not doing that.

I would like to mine seriously, but I don't even know how to start it (for example, what equipment to buy, etc...). Miners are very important to a coin. I am very proud to know that you have chosen Animecoin. Thank you.

(As I understand it, the danger with 51% attack is the attacker "rebuilding" the blockchain (for example for double spending). But the attacker would not be possible to affect the whole deals happening on the network, for only the transactions in the blocks he was able to "exclude" form the original blockchain would be annulated. A good interview with Antonopoulos about this subject is here: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/lets-talk-bitcoin-125-51-solutions-and-zhou-tonged )

I started off with 1 GTX 670 back in January of this year. I now have the 1 Gtx670, 13 Gtx750ti's, 1 R9 280x, 1 R9 270x and 1 R9 270. Had 2 7850 but sold those. Waiting for the GTX880's to come out.

In the cudamining.cc release page, is ther a version released for x15?

I know that nvminer has it but I wanted to compare it to ccminer. For some reason on one of my rigs I can't get the nvminer over 45% gpu load with x15. If I use ccminer on it it works fine (jackpot).

Try djm34's version of ccminer just to make sure I didn't break anything when making nvMiner.  Let me know if you get anything different with his version.

BTW, what hash rate are you getting on x15?

Carlo

Weird. On two rigs (1 and 2) I avg about 1,300 kh/s but on the rig (3) with issues it starts off at about 800 kh/s but drops to about 200 kh/s.

On rig 3, with issues, I have an old AMD tri core but on rig 1 and 2 I have an AMD 1100t and 8350. So maybe the cpu is causing problems. But on rig 1 and 2 I get 90-97% gpu usage but rig 3, with issues, the gpu usage only gets to about 40% but drops to under 10%.

So I don't thinmk it is the nvminer but wanted to compare with ccminer. I was mining core coin which ends real soon so I will try another x15 coin late tonight when I get home from work.

i think its the cpu it dont have aes-ni in it if its a old amd a-series apu

This is what I am leaning towards also. I'll just get one from eBay.

It's an old Am3 socket

Your issues sound like a driver cash. What version drivers are you using, and do you OC?

No overclock.

Even if I restart the computer they never go above these clocks.

I will be at work for a while but will check the driver versions when I get home.

Also possible it's the GPU.  Could you try and switch GPUs between machines to see if the problem follows the GPU or the CPU?

Carlo

Each machine has 5 750ti's on powered USB risers. This one has 5 MSI factory overclocked. The one with no problems are Evga super clock. The MSI (problem computer) are clocked higher.

It might be easier to change out cpu's.

Downloaded and installed 2.0.0 version of wallet.

Been stuck at 87,515 blocks remaining for over 10 hours now.

Running windows 7. Any ideas?

Add these nodes to your conf file and restart wallet

Code:
46.105.227.145
185.49.144.66

Still no go.

Everytime I restart the wallet the block count goes higher.

Wondering if I should delete everything in appdata folder except wallet.dat and try and redownload?

Yes, please add the nodes, and delete everything except wallet.dat (it is better to save wallet.dat somewhere else)

I am not very good at this..I delete wallet.dat in main folder or roaming folder?

u should delete every thing except wallet.dat and restart wallet

for safety its better you copy your wallet.dat some where else before doing this

Don't know what else to try.

I deleted everything but wallet Dat file in appdata and even re-downloaded the wallet. The wallet stills hangs at block 87k and now it shows no coins with 350 transactions.

I tried on another computer. Installed the wallet ran it. Copied wallet Dat file from original to this one. Wallet shows it synced with 350 transactions but no coins in confirmed, staked or anywhere. I see the coins in the transaction history but not in the wallet.

I am starting to feel like I have 95k useless coins.

If the wallet is completely synced , go to console and type

Repairwallet

And you will recover your lost coins

The "repairwallet" did the trick.

I am up and running.

Thanks.
