1241  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 08, 2023, 04:14:59 AM
Seems this is ongoing and every few hours there is something new. First they sued them, then next day it was Coinbase, now they are freezing their assets, then Binance lawyers said they want the case dropped since Gary was actually wanting to work for Binance in the past and now they are saying they traded with customers funds.

They are claiming that customer funds were sent to Merit Point which was owned by CZ and they were used as investments for certain assets. Basically what Ftx did pretty much. No idea what to believe is true anymore.
1242  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is in Action After Suing Binance, Here Comes Coinbase Exchange on: June 07, 2023, 03:35:02 AM
Most likely tomorrow or by the end of the week they will be suing Kraken, Cryptodotcom, Gemini and any other US based crypto exchange which lists those dozens of tokens which they consider securities.

Seem right now only the POW coins are safe and ETH. But any coins or tokens which had any type of ico then it’s considered a security which pretty much is most tokens these exchanges have listed. Nothing looking good. Most likely all these exchanges will stop providing services to US customers due to this.
1243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to Hodl or buy the Dip? on: June 07, 2023, 03:32:10 AM
Yesterday was a good time to buy the dip. If you load the daily chart you can see that the $25K area is important because it was resistance but lately it was strong support. It dipped slightly during the binance dump and now recovered was quickly, this is what you want to see.

Maybe wait for a pullback and see if you can get a better price but keep in mind that I don’t think we will hit a new ATH this year. With all this sec suing exchanges over blurry regulations the future doesn’t have a new ATH priced in unless we get regulators under control.
1244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone Predict What's going on crypto market? on: June 07, 2023, 03:28:51 AM
We rallied into the $30K area due to the bank failures in march. And in the past 24 hours we broke down to the $25.5k area because of the ongoing regulations against crypto.

Ever since Ftx, many regulators have taken a very tough stance on crypto and are setting regulations. Latest was with binance and coin base listing security tokens. This is strange because they let coinbase get listed on the NYSE and knew it dealt with securities such as SOL or ADA. There is no clarity basically and this is why it’s scary.
1245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: June 07, 2023, 03:23:47 AM
Bitcoin broke into the support area during the binance news. And even after coinbase news it still managed to hold the low. So it basically stopped out all the leveraged longs and reversed.

The fact that it completely engulfed the previous breakdown candle is very bullish. I think we will break the yearly high soon and make our way to the $35ks.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: June 06, 2023, 02:48:33 AM
Since everybody has an MBA now they are pretty much useless. I know a guy with an MBA and he struggled for years to find work. He had to relocate and started running his fathers company instead. And he also had friends in the same situation as him. There just isn’t enough jobs out there to fill for mba careers.

The only mba degrees that pay well are those from Ivy League schools. You get connections just by going to that school and will land a great career. However they are crazy expensive and you need connections just to get into the school in the first place.
1247  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ad sales down 59%, company valuation down 66% on: June 06, 2023, 02:45:05 AM
I think we need to give it a few more quarters and see how the ad revenue will go. After he took over, twitter was an absolute mess and many companies just stopped advertising for it. However many are coming back since they see that it’s more stable.

Keep in mind that they reduced their useless staff and also get $8month with their monthly plan. I think we got to give it more time and see what comes of it. However I think he improved the platform a lot. Even instragam started doing the monthly check fee to boost revenue.
1248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price bouncing from 200 Week MA on: June 06, 2023, 02:41:36 AM
Again we broke thru the 20WMA. However it’s still the beginning of the week and we can still close above the 200WMA. However even if that happens I don’t think it’s due to the weekly average holding support.

Like Fibonacci or Elliot waves, these types of indicators don’t work well when there is a fundamental event like today with the binance news. Maybe if it wasn’t for this news we would be at $27k but instead are in for a lot of regulatory uncertainty.
1249  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: offline air-gapped electrum on: June 05, 2023, 04:19:55 AM
Regarding the scanning of the QR code. What I do is this. I don’t use a usb drive back and forth due to the slightest risk of infecting the cold computer.

I have an old digital camera and an old laptop. The laptop has a slot to read flash cards like the old style ones that digital cameras used. So I just use an old digital camera from like the year 2000. Take a photo, and take out the flash card and put it into the offline computer. This way it never touches the online computer.

Then use a program like QR decoder and copy that code to electrum and it will read the unsigned transaction.
1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool hit my usual 15sats/vbyte today on: June 05, 2023, 04:12:21 AM
I think last week or so on the weekend some transactions around the 15-17 sat/byte mark also filled. The worse is the weekdays when the fees always jump.

However what is more impressive is the ETH gas fees. I saw it at 12 gwei earlier today. Can’t remember last time it was that low. Means meme coins are dead for now.

So I am also assuming these lows fees are due to the low liquidity and regulations and people just quitting crypto pretty much. And summer is around the corner which leads to less volatility.
1251  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: June 04, 2023, 11:43:36 PM
Yes this is pretty bad. So far over $35M has been hacked and they have no idea what the issue is. They should send out a mass email to all the users who use Atomic Wallet and tell them to move to another wallet or even exchange.

Importing the seed into a new wallet won't help since they most likely have the seed. You need to move to a fresh new wallet. Wonder what the cause of this could of been? This is what happens when you use a closed source wallet.

Feels bad reading some of the comments. Some people think they are going to get a refund from the Atomic Wallet company. Feel bad that they don't know its gone forever.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Know the Next PEPE on: June 04, 2023, 04:55:37 AM
Don’t think there will be another PePE anytime soon. Go look at the gas fees it’s basically almost 10 Gwei which means the meme markets are over.

The best time to buy these meme coins is when fees are like 200 gwei. Sure it’s expensive but everything was pumping back then and you would it made it back. However these days most projects like PEPE 100 are all rugs which last maybe a few hours at most.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fed didn't stop to paused on: June 04, 2023, 04:51:27 AM
The fed hasn’t released its decision to raise rates or hold them. It’s later this month. Most likely they will hold for June but I am pretty sure for July they will need to be raised.

Job market is still strong. Inflation is still there . We are nowhere near the 2% target. Inflation will be lower in the next few months but I think by year end or early next year it will keep going up.

1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Wrong with Roger Ver? ::) on: June 04, 2023, 04:48:36 AM
Yeah been a few years since I heard his name. I remember he was selling memory chips and accepted Bitcoin at his store and basically held the Bitcoin until it became worth millions.

He was crazy during that Bitcoin cash and Bitcoin debate. No idea why he acted that way. He lost it on some of those interviews and then didn’t hear from him for years.

Very strange that he now is talking about ethereum however. Who knows maybe he knows deep down that Bitcoin cash was never going to replace Bitcoin.
1255  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your personal debt reduction method aside the debt snowball method? on: June 03, 2023, 04:30:29 AM
I never heard of this method but I think the best method is not the smallest balance but the one which has the highest interest.

If you got one debt at $1000 with 10% interest and another $100 with 5% interest then it makes more sense to pay off the $1000 debt because even though it’s higher than the smaller the interest will be double of the smaller debt.

There is also consolidation of debt which works for many people. Usually there are agencies in the area that can help you with that if you are struggling.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining difficulty at an all time high on: June 03, 2023, 04:24:47 AM
Well there are a few reasons why. The ordinals is one but another reason is that the hardware is more efficient. Since it’s more efficient a mining farm can have a higher hash rate with the same amount of electricity it used. So this is why the hash rate will always keep increasing since we have better chips.

The ordinals is important because the fees are higher than average and it’s attractive to mine because not only do you get block reward but also the miners fee. And a couple of weeks ago the miner fee was also as high as the block reward.
1257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most worth watching Bitcoin movies on: June 03, 2023, 04:20:28 AM
Didn’t realize there was so many of these Bitcoin movies out there.

I remember the first time that Bitcoin was mentioned on television was a show called The Good Wife. And this was very very early like 2012 or so. I am actually surprised they decided to use Bitcoin since it was so new. It probably brought fame due to that one episode.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No Asic miner, No Bitcoin mining on: June 02, 2023, 03:53:03 AM
Cloud mining has been a scam since 2014 or so. I am surprised it still exists with all the negative press it has gotten lately. But I am not surprised you got coned. They use good marketing basically saying “You get 100T forever” and in the fine print it says that it needs to make enough to cover the maintaince. Most don’t realize how quick an ASIC becomes obsolete.

Look at all those old ASICS which are basically scrap pretty much because they consume more power than they generate profit. ASICS have very quick turnover.
1259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Robert Kennedy Jr a True Bitcoiner or a Pseudo Bitcoin supporter? on: June 02, 2023, 03:48:59 AM
Nobody will know until he is elected and then we will see if he is pro Bitcoin or not. You need to understand that his campaign could of analyze voters and think they can buy more votes if he is pro Bitcoin and most candidates aren’t.

A lot of people hold Bitcoin in the USA and the way the regulations are going now will make them want to vote for someone who will make sure it stays unbanned. So it’s a smart way to get people to start voting.

However keep in mind that he might not even win the lead.
1260  Economy / Economics / Re: You are not prepared what's coming quick analytics exacly of situation on: June 02, 2023, 03:45:18 AM
We have been hearing about this doom and gloom and nasty recession for almost 2 years now. However aside from housing which slightly corrected nothing has happened which was bad.

Employment is very strong
Inflation seems to be contained
The bank failures has stopped
Etc

Sure all indicators are pointing to a recession. However if everyone thinks there will be a recession, then will there be one? Usually a recession is quick and by surprise.
