1241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "Human Resources" discussion on: December 30, 2015, 07:25:32 AM
I am suspicious of this. I have asked around within the darknet community, 1 person I know has applied and got an generic, possibly automated response back.

The main issues are:

1) Lack of Professionalism - their website is shitty and they want people to use thebox which is some shitty generic onionland messaging system. They do not have a publicly listed email contact or persona for managing the website.

2) Overwhelming shadiness. Total lack of transparency, nobody knows who is running it or anybody that has used it. Its unclear who they are hiring for. They dont have an FAQ or any interactive public outreach on any forum. The only information i could find is on there website.

People that operate darknet enterprises, like to have reputations, outreach and other stuff to let people know they are legit. Not sure about these guys. It would make more sense to have a listing page where people could post resumes and hiring opportunities then intrested parties could browse and hire select from a list of choices, with a built in escrow system. They manner in which they are operating is murky, inefficient and a bit n00bish. Its not a hiring platform its just a busybody trying to make a cut off a networking position. in the onionland early days you had people like this but now the scene is a bit more developed. Although who knows, it might become a very successful service.

Its a good idea, I'll probably end up launching a jobs marketplace on the ExchangeD.I2P platform later in 2016
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategies for dealing with trading bots? on: December 30, 2015, 12:26:15 AM
Bot are just like normal traders just more mechanical, they dont need to take breaks and they don't make mistakes. Build your own bot. Any trading strategy you have you can build a bot to outperform you.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: December 30, 2015, 12:19:11 AM
Withdrew the rest of my ANC from Cryptsy yesterday. Still waiting on the transaction to complete though. I know some are saying 'blockchain issue' but what kind of issue are we talking here?

I guess for now I'm going to hold what I got and keep mining for the winter (keeps my room warm Grin).

I'd like to add some ASICs to enhance my mining efforts. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm still mining with 2x7950's but this is becoming less effective.

I have a feeling there's going to be an update sometime in the future that brings interest back into the coin and given the scarcity I'd like to have a nice little stash just in case. If nothing happens oh well but as this next BTC mania begins I bet a lot of altcoins are going to be taking advantage of the hype like what has happened before...

You will most likely never see your coins again.
Withdrawals of ANC from Cryptsy are not visible on blockchain and never reach your wallet.

Except a few weeks ago I did a test withdraw of 36 ANC and, while it took a day or two, came through fine. Either way not sure what your point is? You've offered nothing to answer my questions and are only promoting defeatism. I know you shill for the I2P exchange which I'd rather use anyway, but I gotta get my coins there to begin with so it isn't like there's a better plan for me to follow now is there?

Anyway If another day or two goes by without my withdrawal I'll start to be concerned but for now I don't care about how you think 'I'll never see my coins'. At the moment I'm only interested in what kind of ASIC options are around, what exactly are the 'blockchain problems' that are being mentioned, and also curious about future plans?

Hey Toxic,

Not sure if you read the earlier posts but cryptsy is shutting down anoncoin trading permanently. Withdrawal all your coins if/while you can.

Future Plans: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Development_schedule Meeh is working on issue #90,
Once we get patches for #90 and and #91 we will release a new anoncoin version and do a hardfork

Original (i2p dev) is working on i2pd integration, Gnosis is still around and is working with Ssaug on zerocoin integration.

P.S. The I2P exchange is awesome Smiley this is an opportunity for more people to start using it
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy wants to remove ANC! on: December 30, 2015, 12:08:24 AM
There wont be problems with the cryptsy in the future, just to get all out:

NOTICE: ANC markets are now "CLOSED" due to unresolved issues with the coins blockchain. All ANC funds will need to be removed from cryptsy and we will work on getting them confirmed on the blockchain as quickly as possible. Withdrawals will stay open indefinitely but we can not guarantee the transactions will confirm quickly due to blockchain issues.

Yep, good time to start using ExchangeD.I2P Smiley
Cant say you didn't see it coming

When the Blockchain is damaged how is it useful to use i2p, how does this save ANC ?

There is no block-chain damage, ExchangeD.I2P has not had any anoncoin issues, cryptsy people are just stupid and/or incompetent.
1245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE superSLEEPERS : good Alt Coins going unnoticed : [Long Term Investments] on: December 29, 2015, 01:20:50 AM

A, ANONCOIN (ANC) 27434sat/coin*
- active development team
- full I2P integration
- working I2P exchange
- almost ready 0.9.6 wallet
- very low total amount of coins
- once they finish zerocash....boom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

anoncoin does not have its own exchange, it uses exchangeD - no anon dev presently according to thread?

ExchangeD.i2p accepts several coins but it was kind of built specifically for the anoncoin and i2p community. also the main ExchangeD.I2P dev (me) is an active anoncoin contributor.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mirrax's HIGH RISK altcoin investment guide for 2016 on: December 28, 2015, 03:19:39 AM
im thinking a major anoncoin pump in jan/feb

As soon as they fix the 2 more bugs they will release a new version update with a innovative difficulty algorithm, its worth at least 2x-3x pump because of current low market cap, also craptsy stopped Anoncoin trading which automatically increases the price 35%. Because of craptsy withdrawal drama the price has been deflated. Its only uphill from here Smiley

Original is working on i2pd integration and Gnosis will finish Zerocoin (eventually). To the moon!

I remember when the price of this coin rose to 5$.
But it seems those days are in the past..

"GroundRod our Chief Developer is no more, in fact he may be actually dead... but because he is anonymous we cannot be sure although it is 4 months he disapeared."

worth noting.

Go hang yourself on nearby tree you stupid bag of shit!
Thank you.

Hold on, that might be a little extreme of a response.

Sometimes developers go missing, even the main developer of bitcoin went missing a few years ago and nobody knows where he is or if he is still alive. The import thing is that other people step up and help continue what he started.

Meeh was on irc a few days ago and said that he would help out with patching the few bugs that are holding us back from the next release, and we can find another dev it is 2 main issues that need resolving.

https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/issues/91
https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/issues/90

Gnosis is still active and brought in a new dev Ssuag, and they are committed to integrating trustless zerocoin as planned, and Original is working on i2pd integration. We have devs, just these 2 specific issues are a pain in the ass.

Maybe it is even numbers are production, odd are developmen or something?

what shocks me more on this forum is how many constantly confuse 'price' with 'value'  Angry

or worse still, thinking that scarcity somehow make the currency a whole more valuable
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volume is ANTI-liquidity on: December 26, 2015, 06:56:32 AM
My view is probably influenced by the way stuff has tended to happen in the Galactic Milieu, where most of the time most of the currency doesn't hit the markets at all.  Most currency conversion happens like the way it happens at gas stations along the U.S. / Canada border or at a local branch of your bank when you go in to buy a bit of foreign currency to take with you on vacation or whatever. You look on a currency conversion chart or even watch the news or a newspaper to see what today's price is, add a service fee markup and pow it is done.

In international Forex the exchange rate is set by a network of massive clearinghouses with transaction volume measured in the trillions of USD a day. when you go to the typical border town exchange booth what your looking at is actually not actually an "exchange" in the same way bitfinex or okcoin but on the backend they are part of a chain that is plugged into a larger currency exchange network, similar to shapeshift which is hooked up to several exchanges and buys and markups coins for sale to consumers.

So volume tends to be sporadic. But also the Open Transactions system supports scales in powers of ten, so typically there will be at least three scales of market available for those who do choose to use the market system instead of directly approaching someone to do an over the counter exchange. So large volume would probably usually happen on large scale markets; if you want to trade job-lots of 100,000 of an asset at a time, in whole lots of 100,000, you would use the 100,000-scale market. Arbitragers would presumably buy at one scale to get "wholesale" type prices then break up the lot to sell on smaller scale markets. This tendency to get better prices when buying in bulk also provides incentive to do sporadic huge transactions rather than constantly running to and from the markets.

It could be that this arbitrary tiered system is creating an inefficiency in the economy of your game, there is no reason why to not trade digital assets more in smaller batches like on any ol cryptocurrency exchange.

This happens in the real world also. But more commonly finished goods because there is a delivery and production overhead per order. Forex markets don't really have discounts for larger orders. (there are exceptions)

So, I guess, yet another case of volume not being anti-liquidity! Smiley

I guess we agree Smiley you might want to fix the thread title or something.

P.S. I'm a Freeciv GOD and am on the Open Transactions mailing list, this project sounds pretty cool, can you tell me more about it?

from the link you referenced http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu it mentioned that your freeciv ruleset was being upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3 but now freeciv is on v2.5, is the project still active?
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volume is ANTI-liquidity on: December 26, 2015, 04:25:30 AM

so the same small amount of liquidity can be recycled over and over and over again in the course of a high-volume day if the volume is not one-directional.

Its technically possible, but even in that case Volume would not be "anti liquidity" but instead uncorrelated with liquidity. For example, 90% of trading volume could possibly be one person or bot trading with themselves. However in aggregate, the affect of volume on on liquidity is positive. A cycle where volume attracts more traders which in turn creates more volume. Sometimes even market manipulators fake volume by trading with themselves in attempt to attract other traders and increase market liquidity, these attempts actually are effective to a degree.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volume is ANTI-liquidity on: December 26, 2015, 03:50:38 AM
OP. so there are a few things i think you are getting confused with,

you are correct with your definition of liquidity but you misunderstand the affect of volume on liquidity,

while its true an individual trade would reduce liquidity within a market by reducing orderbook depth, the effect in aggregate actually increases liquidity. you may notice that bitcoin is the most liquid cryptocoin but also has the greatest trading volume by several orders of magnitude. Trading volume is actually a good measure of liquidity and coins with higher trading volumes are always more liquid than coins with lower volume, trading volume denotes "activity" within a market, and more more active markets mean more traders, more people putting orders on the book and crucially a larger group of people interested in buying or selling with you. So when you visit sites like http://coinmarketcap.com , http://coingecko.com and others they always include trading volume, because its a widely used metric to determine the liquidity of a market.

Hey, so I had a personal emergency recently that ate up a bunch of my time, and as a result I'm behind on coding a little bit. I still plan to release the demo on December 31 but it might be buggier and less functional than I anticipated. Still, I'm really excited about this and I think its a great service to finally have. I hope to have an official release on February 1.

Sure, you could do like a cloakcoin style in-wallet trading app, you would still have to have other people to trade with but its not anything groundbreaking. Not sure on a good price for this, or why you would want to spend your money on this i can imagine better ways things to buy. Maybe in the 3-10 btc ballpark.
1260  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: December 23, 2015, 04:29:46 AM
Another possibility is it could that they had a database failure of some kind and their accounting system is FUBAR, now they have no choice but to manually verify all withdrawal requests. Not saying that this is the case, but it is an often overlooked possibility. Still they have been fucking up long before this withdrawal fiasco, I would not recommend using them for many other reasons.
