Nothing in cart after adding them.    Please advise.

1242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: February 02, 2013, 02:35:25 PM
This is ridiculous. For almost 1 million dollars, you wouldn't get it this right? Or at least have someone post here telling us what's going on! Make us wake up so early in the morning for this shit.

Sounds like somebody's impatient Smiley

Never forget what BitSyncom posted earlier:  it is a market where demand vastly outstrips supply.

If he posted a 4chanlulz site, full of obscenities, with an order form that accepts shipping info and bitcoins, batch #2 will still sell out.

True Jeff, but on the other hand, when this is after one delay and it is 31 mins past the stated time, we do deserve an update if this will be delayed again or hold on tight, agreed?

This is quite an achievement for the whole Avalon team.  To come out and delivery first, deserves some serious kudos.  We are going to see a ton of new hashing power come on.

main site has been updated http://launch.avalon-asics.com and running system checks in preparation for batch #2 launch.

What is the ETA for doing Batch #2?  Within 24 hours  Within 12 hours or over 24 hours?    This will allow people to adjust their weekend plans.

Thanks,
D
1246  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: January 31, 2013, 02:26:35 PM
Do ya think its really that time-critical?
How long after they accepted orders was the 1st Batch sold out?

You really didn't think that through very did you?
1247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: January 31, 2013, 02:19:42 PM
I'm ready to order 2

I'm in sleep depravation, hope to have a date/hour soon !

I hope we get at least 24h notice.  Some of us work in the field some days and can't be online 24/7.

I sent a msg asking that question.  Wanted to know if this was a 24 hour+ delay or less.

1248  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: January 31, 2013, 02:04:41 PM

May just be trolling.

God, I hate piers morgan with a passion. Every night I tune in to watch the latest bullshit anti gun propaganda this British citizen broadcasts to U.S. Citizens.

Why? If you want him off the air, why are you giving ratings?

Watch something that won't raise your blood pressure, instead.

Agreed, you have to not pay attention to that propaganda.   He is a shill and most intelligent people know that.

Use escrow.  Jr. members can be a higher risk in transactions.

No, once it has a declared status, hardcore regulations will follow.  Think about what you wish for.
1253  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Speculation on bASIC's Change of Ownership before shipping on: January 18, 2013, 02:32:57 PM
Don't get confused that people that support government agree with how things are being run at the moment.
Sure, I get that part. But I expect those who endorse nation-states to at least agree with the inevitable consequences of nation-states, which includes the debasement by the state of its currency.

No disagreement but here but the better world is "empire", that is what is failing in my case.  Yes, debasement is happening and it is ridiculous economic justification they are using.
1254  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guess What? Germany (and other nations) store their gold in the US on: January 18, 2013, 01:09:57 AM
How much justification is there to the tinfoil hat wearers claim that the same people funded both sides of the second world war? If there is any reasonable justification to that claim then the same people could just be moving their gold from one vault to another here... or merely claiming to have done so. If that's the case and if their dominance is truly so complete they can honor more or less any nations request for their gold moved back to their own vaults and restore confidence in the existence of the reserves with yet more smoke and mirrors.

It is fact Wall Street banks funded both sides.  Hell, Brown Brothers Harriman was actually seized by the United States, under the "Trading with the Enemies" act, for this exact situation.  What you're referring too is the "gold leasing" operation that has taken place for 50 years atleast.  This is how they can use gold stored in vaults to settle other accounts by a country leasing their gold to another.   I think this is a driving force behind why Germany wants more of its gold home so it serves as a signal to the world that they have a majority amount in their own vaults and could prove it.

Can anyone explain this, so I understand it?

How does gold reserve leasing work? One country lends it's gold out to another country so the borrowing country has the gold for a period as backing for loans? Does the lending country still consider it's gold an asset? It smells like fractional gold, and a lot of other bad banking practices!!

You basically have the gist of it.  They carry it on their balance-sheet while leasing it to another country who carries it on their balance-sheet.  It is basically fractionalizing gold for central bank use.
1255  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Speculation on bASIC's Change of Ownership before shipping on: January 17, 2013, 04:14:00 PM
What I don't understand is why those who idolise the state are wasting their time here, when they can use government-endorsed fiat currency.

You're a simple-minded fool if you can't figure that out.  Just because someone supports a nation-state model doesn't mean they don't want monetary independence.  Don't get confused that people that support government agree with how things are being run at the moment.
1256  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The inflation-export trade gambit on: January 17, 2013, 04:11:26 PM

I keep hearing the argument that inflation is necessary to encourage a country's exports.

Gut feeling is that this is a load of crap.
Yes, putting artificial pressure on an economy to force trade encourages exports but,

exports aren't needed if you're rich.

If there's no inflation then the country just gets richer.
If richer, then the country is more powerful and less reliant on exports.

Is it as simple as this?

When I hear inflation in current times, you need to think, debasing their currency to make it more competitive on the foreign exchange market.  The make your currency cheaper compared to your trading partners so that a trading partner can get more goods from you for their currency.   The problem is that it is a race to the bottom and can end in serious inflation with nothing really to show for it because on the flip side, your raw materials will cost more to import and they will offset any gains other than "goosed" up economic data and temporary employment increases.

Gut feeling has nothing to do with economic theory.  Maybe you get lucky and make a true claim, but that is all.

Your statement says it all, "If there's no inflation then the country just gets richer. ".  The is the crux of it all, when you put this artificial pressure on the country, you do get inflation in some or multiple asset classes and usually leads to bubbles in certain assets classes, or even worse, broad-base inflation.   Take for example, the U.S. takes food and energy out of the CPI but for a majority of people, rent, food and energy (gas & heating or cooling fuel) is their largest monthly expense.   So in that case, what are we really measure?

No is not as simple as that but I hope the above added to your conversation.

I wonder if that means some other nation will now be on the "short end" and lack sufficient gold to back its currency?
You say there is a nation that still backs its currency by gold? Which one is that?

China is expected to announce a large increase in gold reserves and many creditable analyst suspect once they hit 6,000 tonnes, they will unveil an international gold-backed yuan.   This would be a shrewd move on their part.
1259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guess What? German (and other nations) store their gold in the US on: January 17, 2013, 03:54:20 AM
Yep and now they are in the process of repatriating it back to their countries.  Germany is already in the process of getting it back.  Now what will be interesting is if those reserves are really available to be sent back and somehow they have been leased out or worse.

Myrkul -

I don't think you actually know what I advocate. Have you read anything about AnCap, or Voluntaryism?

This response just sidesteps my statement.  Human motives and interests persist in any system.  You seem to be under the impression that this will be some Utopia where somehow people will be better off.  From you other writings you have no problem with people falling behind or having a large underclass, that is for sure.

As long as this view is supported by you or other AnCappers, you will just continue to be a fringe movement with no hope of actual execution.  You need to embrace that people have been abused and been put at a disadvantage that is not just of their own making.  That is called reality and compassion.  Not just saying, oh they will just go to charity.  It just shows you lack true empathy.

You advocate government, which is by definition a relative few controlling everything else.

A few for a limited time, rotating in and out of government is what I advocate, just like in our constitution.  You seem to forget that document we have in America.  I know many do not respect it, but I do.

See? I'm certain now that you have no fucking clue what I advocate. Any Mises in that library of yours? Hayek? Hoppe? Rothbard? Talk to me after you've read some of them. (hey, guess what, you can read them free over at mises.org)

Look at your responses and tell me I have no clue?  I read what you write.  I under what your saying when you mention pure capitalism and free markets.  Yes, Mises and Hayek are in my library and I actually have a book on order that is a collection of Hayek essays I will be reading.  That doesn't mean everything that have said is correct either.   That is where your own analysis and common sense comes in.
