1241  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Yo!Mix Bitcoin Mixer Signature Campaign| Reward up to $200/w on: December 26, 2023, 05:21:03 PM
Are there any plans to continue the campaign after January 1 Huh, because about 0.5 Bitcoin is enough for a week and thus refilling escrow payment above that is useless.

I believe that the promotion will continue after January 1st, but on other platforms. unlike the platform, filling the escrow can only mean that the management of the promotion will not change  Wink

Just my 2sat/vb
I think you're right the campaign may shift to other platforms like a few other mixer campaigns and that's why the team might have refilled the wallet like they used to fill it. I'm pretty sure that they might have plans to advertise on other platforms and who knows that we may see their signature campaign on other platforms after 31st December.
1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never thought I would say this, but... on: December 26, 2023, 05:16:59 PM
....I no longer think Wikipedia is a reliable source for cryptocurrency topics.
I think you're right Wikipedia isn't a reliable source for crypto-currencies and topics related to crypto-currencies because anyone can edit it and sometimes with wrong information. I have never been fan of Wikipedia and I don't really use that site anymore myself but most people still use Wikipedia to search for topics that are related to crypto-currencies.

I think we should create a good Wiki site where we may share information about all topics related to crypto-currencies but unfortunately none of the crypto-currency users are interested in creating a wiki like that and that's why Wikipedia will continue to share unreliable information with ctypto users. Even if we create a wiki site ourselves it will still be very hard to rank that wiki on Google or any other search engine. I hope to see such a site in future maybe.
1243  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: December 26, 2023, 02:07:05 PM
D-oo-oo-h!  How in the world did I miss this topic?

And maaaan.....I missed the voting deadline for the poll.  My Christmas is just ruined now.
Hey bro, I think we both support that BCT thing as that sounds more genuine for this forum but majority of the users are in favor of BTT which in my point of view doesn't make much sense. Not a big problem if you missed the voting deadline because sometimes we do miss some topics on the forum but I'm quite happy that you have finally found the topic and gave your opinion about the topic.

1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which hosting or domain name providers does shady gambling sites use? on: December 25, 2023, 07:44:54 PM
the ICANN i think also has all the data of those people not just the registrar. those hosting and registrar are also into business so they will allow renewals and all until authorities will contact them.
They surely has the data of the clients but most of the data that they get is fake data as most of such shady businesses use fake KYC details to begin their shady business.

I remember back when I was still part of Unijoin sig campaign and we found some clones that were posing as the original site and when we contacted the registrar about the site; it turned out that they had no idea that those sites were phishing sites and that’s should also be true for shady casino sites— it’s possible that the hosting site has no idea about what is going on or what they are doing to their customers so unless someone creates an actual report against them they won’t be able to do anything.
It means that anyone can register a site on some domain provider's and they won't know anything about the customers even if they are the shady ones. I believe you're right the case can be true for the shady casinos but it's strange that the domain name providers allow such sites to exist, but it's also not their fault as they can't check each and every user who register domain via such sites.

As far as I know, the shady hosting provider just wants to get your money without thinking about what are you doing. they will provide the services whatever you want if you put a lot of money on their table. so we don't be surprised if today we can easy fund a lot of scam or phishing sites that are circulating out there without any clear supervision from the institution.
You're actually right, I also thought that and yes money plays very important role for such hosting providers who allow such sites to host their data on their servers. I have also noticed that such hosts may get some legal problems in future but it's still not going to happen anytime soon. If we look at the hosts or sites that allow unlimited file sharing then we can see many copyrighted material on those sites but out of 100 only few get seized by authorities.

~Snip~
If there are valid cases then you can contact them through their contact page and present evidence of the violation
https://internetbs.net/en/contact.html

No domain is immune or protected from cancellation the complainant should just present their evidences of abuse properly
I'm quite sure that many people who have information about internetbs.net and they know how to contact them might have tried their best to report sites like the ones mentioned in OP but still such sites never get down. I believe the domain provider might allow some premium members to be immune from any such reports.
1246  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 25, 2023, 07:15:46 PM
A must thing to be done and this is why it wont really be that simple  on finding out those kind of platforms who do have this kind of standard when reviewing out on a certain site on which they do really reach out on a certain extent just for them to deliver out on whats good and whats really that bring that easiest to understand.
I believe that there doesn't exist a platform like that but I believe we may have such platforms if a few gamblers get support via donations from casinos or other investors to test out any casino of our own choice.

The gamblers then should be allowed to get some money for the reviews but no one should tell them the platform that they want to choose and when they choose a casino then they will get some deposit from those donated funds and the gamblers may use the funds to gamble on the casino of his/her choice.

The gambler must need to review the casino afterwards and in that way I believe a gambler would more like write a review without getting paid from the casino that he/she tested. That's the best way to have such reviews and I guess so far no such platform exist that does that.

1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: December 25, 2023, 07:03:04 PM
What would happen if all Bitcoin is mined and all Bitcoin is lost?
Nothing would happen because in 2140 almost everyone of us won't be alive when all Bitcoin get mined. And, it's funny to even believe that all Bitcoin can get lost because that's not going to happen and that's why I don't believe that it makes sense to answer a question like this as there is no way to logically answer a question like this. Even if half of Bitcoin are lost in 100+ years then still there will be half supply of Bitcoin with us and those half would be more than enough for the people who may have Bitcoin in those years.
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your Bitcoin spendings here on: December 25, 2023, 06:48:08 PM
Is Bitcoin spending not supposed to be a secret? If you ask me, that is supposed to be confidential information as it can pose threat to some people base on their locality. This is a public space and you don't know who is reading your post, so your spending should be secret and confidential.
I agree with you and I also believe that it's not a good thing to share your Bitcoin spending with anyone as that's something which is against your own privacy. If you have spent some Bitcoin to purchase physical goods or you have used it to purchase digital goods or maybe something else then you should never share that with anyone else.

It not good to share your Bitcoin spending and it's better to have those as the most secret thing you do. I have spent Bitcoin on many good things but I won't share those with anyone. I have bought the things with Bitcoin that I found useful and that's something I would like to keep secret.

I must say that I have never used Bitcoin to purchase anything illegal and I will never use it to purchase something illegal but still I don't think it's good to disclose your Bitcoin spending on a public forum like this. And, I suggest everyone to be careful when sharing your Bitcoin spending with others.

1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Which hosting or domain name providers does shady gambling sites use? on: December 24, 2023, 07:38:51 PM
Today, when I was browsing the service discussion board I found a thread created by a Hero member where he was asking about good hosting providers that doesn't require KYC. I didn't feel to reply there because others users have already answered the question and OP found his web host with the help of those members.

But something came in my mind after reading that thread that which hosting providers and domain name providers those shady gambling websites use. Most of us know the shady websites like 1xBit for their shady activities and we also know that they got license from countries like Curacao but does anyone knows that which hosting providers and which domain name providers such gambling sites use.

All those gambling sites had to use some domain name registrar that registered those domain names for those shady sites and they all need some kind of hosting plains in order to make their site accessible to everyone but the question is that which domain name providers or hosting companies allow such sites to host their domains or register their domain and renew those domains even if they have been tagged for their shady activities.
1253  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 24, 2023, 06:49:57 PM
From casinos review I expect to see users gambling experience with own real money. If users gambles with play money, or funds provided by casino, then his review can be called 100% objective. When you really risk, you experience is always different from when you know. Behavious is different, user is more cautios not to make a mistake, gamblers reads everything with more attention to details.
I guess most of the reviews are paid review these days but as a reviewer we should try our best to highlight pros and cons of a casino. Most of the casinos have many pros but they have some cons as well which most reviewers don't highlight because they are being paid for the review.

However, some reviewers share both positive and negative aspects of a casinos without caring about the payments that they might receive for the review. So far, I haven't noticed any gamblers who reviewed a casino by putting their own money.

But, I agree that if someone plays with his own funds then there might be a different story in a review then with the funds that are provided by the casinos.
1254  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone here received bitcointalk phishing emails? on: December 24, 2023, 06:40:11 PM
Was reading 2fa topic, and thought crossed about scammers may now phish for 2fa codes, then realized I have never received password phishing mails in first place.

Have you?
I have never received phishing mails till this day and even if I receive any of those mails I won't read it. My  mail inbox is filled with thousands of e-mails that I don't even read and that's why the ones who may try to send those phishing mails will have to wait their whole life until I click those links.

I used to check notifications on my e-mail a few months ago but now I don't really view any e-mails and that's why I don't even bother if someone send me such e-mails. I have registered my Bitcointalk on my personal e-mail and I haven't changed the e-mail yet but when I think it's necessary to change my e-mail then I would definitely do that.

I don't think that anyone of us should worry about such 2fa related phishing mails because a hacker or scammer at least have some sense of mind that to whom he is sending those messages.
1255  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Trezor wallets safe on: December 24, 2023, 05:14:46 PM
im thinking on using electrum for BTC
and trezor for usdt but i want to know your opinions
I won't suggest you any wallet for USDT but for Bitcoin I highly recommend you to use Electrum as that's the safest and most reliable wallet for almost everyone. But, you should be careful when using Electrum because if you have already installed unknown applications on your system then still you may have some risks.

If you really want to be safe with Electrum then I suggest you to go with a Linux distribution as that's a safe operating system. You should first format your disks and create a new partition where you should install your Linux distribution. Once the operating system is installed and running then you can install Electrum and create your personal wallet.

Once you create your wallet then you should save your private keys, wallet file, and seed phrase in a safe location. I would suggest you to purchase a separate USB based external SSD as that works fine for strong those files but remember that only you should have access to that SSD no one else. You should also try to write your seed phrase and private keys on a paper.

Once it's done then you should make the system as an air-gapped system. With an air-gapped system your wallet is safe but be careful if someone gets access to your seed phrase then that person can still steal your Bitcoin. That's why I suggested you to put your SSD and that paper on which you have written your seed phrase and private keys into a secure place. If you take care of those then you should be worry free as no one from a online system will be able to hack your wallet and all your Bitcoin will be safe.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 24, 2023, 04:29:13 PM
The value of Bitcoin has gradually reached great heights. It has become impossible for a new small investor like me to invest in Bitcoin. I am a very small investor. $2k wealth is mine. Well does Bitcoin provide any opportunity in future that I can invest.
I believe $2k is more than enough to begin investing in Bitcoin. You really don't have to buy a full Bitcoin to make profits from Bitcoin investment, all you need is a share in Bitcoin and for that you can start with even $100.

I recommend you to follow a good strategy to accumulate Bitcoin with $2000, you should either go with weekly DCA strategy or dip buying strategy, both of them work like charm for all investors. I would suggest you to learn about Bitcoin before investing in it.

You should give some time to learn about personal wallets and how to save your private keys and seed phrases and once you learn it fully then you can purchase Bitcoin on weekly basis or by using the dip buying strategy. Remember, your own personal wallet is the best way to hold Bitcoin.

Your manners are showing me clearly that you have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. I thought my words may be helpful but nope who can teach a person with a Ph.D. in Mathematics. By the way, I won't promote any universities as I believe that in this age and time we don't need a university for education or learning. Everything is available to us through the internet, we just need to give some time to learn those things.

I won't ignore you or anything else but at least I won't be replying here anymore to shill this thread because many others might waste their valuable time by viewing this thread as it's started by a person who has done Ph.D. in Mathematics.  Wink

1258  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 23, 2023, 05:10:11 PM
If a gambler takes a break and then comes back without having a new trick under his sleeves, it will not change his luck but the same outcome again. A new strategy to win or a strategy to just reduce his gambling activity will do if he is trying to quit gambling.
I don't think that a proper strategy would do much better to change someone's luck. Yeah, reducing gambling activity can have some positive impact on someone's luck. You know when we become mental relaxed and have positivity around us then our luck somehow changes but when we have negativity around us and we are stressed then our luck also gets worse in those times.

I believe responsible gambling is all about our understanding that how much time should we give to gambling activities and when to take the necessary breaks that we need in order to recover from the stress that we get when we lose. Of course one should also reduce his/her gambling activity if he/she is consecutively winning because over happiness is also going to cause much troubles later.
1259  Economy / Reputation / Re: How is digaran not banned from this site? on: December 23, 2023, 05:01:12 PM
There is no rule on the forum to ban someone for trolling and if that rule is added in future to the rules of the forum then a good number of users will get banned for trolling. I have read your threads on reputation board and to be honest they don't make much sense at all.

I recommend you to use your knowledge if you have it rather than defaming others because they don't agree with your ideas or opinions. Our own ego is our worst enemy and if can't control it then don't expect others to praise us because our own ego says us that we are praiseworthy.

It's not fair to call others stupid or use any bad words for others because you think you are better than them or because they don't agree with your opinions. As humans we should respect everyone and if we don't agree with someone's opinion then we should just disagree instead of defaming that person.

If you're truly a doctor then you should look at yourself and change your behavior because a doctor should not act like that.
1260  Economy / Reputation / Re: It is called Symmetrick, not Symmertrick! on: December 23, 2023, 04:43:12 PM
Out of curiosity, but how does one change his name? I mean, what stops him from renaming again to Symtrick, or whatever? I had read that it costs 50 BTC to change your username (for VIP), but even that is once. Has it lowered since then, or maybe even completely free after you reach theymos?
Like Z-tight said, that theymos can change someone's name without any fees but the user has to convince him that why changing of the username is important. I would also like to add that if theymos knows someone then he may consider to help such users by changing their username.

If I'm not wrong then Cyrus can also change the username of a user because he's also the admin of the forum. I'm not sure about it but anyone with administrator privileges should be able to change someone's username. If I'm right then who knows which admin has changed the name of Ratimov to Symmetrick.
