So... Komodo looks like a really cool project. I've run through the white paper and it looks interesting. On page one there's an indication that 10 million tokens are reserved for bounties, but I'm not seeing any info on how to participate... Can anyone advise.

Yes correct, everyone should swap their BTCD's to KMD. There is no exact plan about what to do with the BTCD we receive in the swap. Yes but we will have to keep the BTCD blockchain secure as we are still using it. There's no reason to burn them. |

The BTCD blockchain is used today in various SuperNET projects and thus it will continue to have a function in the near future. However, ultimately all the technology will move over to Komodo blockchain and BTCD will have no role left. How long will that take? No one knows at this point. |

People can invest with BTC during the ICO, but we will also swap all the BTCD for KMD after the ICO. I mean what will be more profitable? Btc or btcd on ico on the first day. Do you need ico current price possible advantage? What is more profitable depends on the BTCD's price. For a long time it traded below the promised swap rate. When calculating the price you will have to factor in the BTC and BTCD ICO bonuses (see 2# comment of this thread) and the revenue asset which BTCD holders will receive (a subjective value). Sorry if I missed something but where can we register to participate in ICO or how?

The ICO starts on Oct 15th. You don't have to register anywhere, and everyone is welcome. We will post more info closer to the launch date, when everything is ready. BTC investors get bonuses, for example 25% on the first day. BTCD is swapped for KMD after the ICO. No BTCD is needed to participate in this ICO, only BTC. Or does the BTCD on the main chain still Trade? Do BTCD holders get both the asset and their original coin? This would dump the price of BTCD and not pay for the Nodes as there is no selling of the BTCD to sustain the ICO. I am probably confused here BTCD holders swap their BTCD for KMD, that means they lose their BTCD coins. We don't expect the BTCD to have much value without any devs or plans. However, it should be linked to the KMD price for one full year, as it can still be swapped for KMD. All the BTCD that is swapped will just sit in a BTCD address and not go get sold or go to circulation. So there is no reason to expect the BTCD price to dump during the next year. Every BTCD holder will have plenty of time to do the swap. The notary nodes will get paid from the ICO funds at first. In the long term the system will become self-sustaining, as the blockchain usage rises and the nodes collect more tx fees. The nodes will also get block rewards until we reach the max 200 million KMD cap. The 'asset' you are referring to is an entirely different thing, nothing to do with Komodo. The BTCD holders were promised certain revenue streams from the SuperNET ecosystem, and because there won't be a BTCD in the future they will receive an asset. The asset will be made someday after the ICO, no date for that, could take a while as SuperNET needs to develop certain technologies (like assetchains). |
