12401  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, do you guys remember Lumi Wallet? on: June 12, 2018, 12:20:38 PM
I asked google and I got the answer: Lumi Wallet is a cryptocurrency storage which supports the most popular coins and providing users with a high security level and good quality. It is a smoothly designed, completely anonymous and easy to use wallet.
Yes! I heard about Lumi Wallet... it is a super secure wallet and it has good privacy.
It's not. Please stop shitposting and read the article.

They also never denied or released any statement about them storing their user's seeds.
12402  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestions] of The Others a.k.a digaran on: June 12, 2018, 02:25:13 AM
Your plan is

Great then, so we could disable signatures for password reset accounts only?
For how long? Can't someone (the hacker or the buyer) just wait until they can use the signatures?

This would just hurt legit users. Those who got hacked can sign a message so a DT member can neg trust the account and make it useless for bounties/campaigns. But the legit user can't do anything and will need to wait until their signatures get enabled again.

Also, many users are used on changing their password from time to time as a security measure.
12403  Other / Meta / Re: Urgently need a sub-forum for Bangladesh on: June 11, 2018, 04:34:21 PM
We don't want terrorist scam shit posters spamming this forum.
Then, why are you here? ROFL

The Internet of Things is fast approaching requiring billions of machine to machine transactions that will all need processed.  Marinecoěn, -MTC- has developed a high speed, zero transaction fee, blockchain specifically designed to meet the needs of this emerging industry.  Artificial intelligence will drive the blockchain freeing up developers to build IOT applications for the Marinecoěn blockchain.  This DEV-less functioning of the chain will be guided by Jarvis, the AI engine.  Marine coin and iot are here to stay  They recently started an airdrop campaign where you can earn 20,000 -MTC- daily.  The coins are being rewarded with time dilution technology.  Take a look here at their website, search your favorite search engine for their website location if you would rather not follow links.   marineco.ěn/ico

OP: Your local thread is a shitshow of spam and shitposts. I doubt theymos would create a sub forum so those users can spam more for their bounties and signature campaigns. Just look at those Newbies in the last page spamming to increase their post count.
12404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Can I use my any YouTube video link on my Post? on: June 11, 2018, 04:14:23 PM
You can't embed a youtube video in your post, but you can put a link or an image imitating the thumbnail that leads to your video.
12405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to move tokens in etherdelta wallet to MEW? on: June 11, 2018, 01:38:35 PM
The users above are right.

1. Go to MEW;
2. Go to the "Send Ether & Tokens" tab;
3. Select private key;
4. Paste your Etherdelta wallet private key;
5. Send your tokens/ETH to your main MEW wallet address.
12406  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet recovery, please need help on: June 11, 2018, 01:27:40 PM
when I generated one wallet in electrum I clicked: "import bitcoin addresses or private keys", input the private key of my brain wallet and generated my wallet with only my private key of my brain wallet, I need receive one payment and generated other address in my wallet and receive the bitcoins in this address, one or 2 days after I lost my computer, the bag with my computer are lost in one trip and never have acces to this computer again and not have one backup,the bitcoins are in this address up to today, I have the new address of my bitcoins is in and the private key and address of my brain wallet then I generated my new adrees,  I have any chance to recover this bitcoins? thank you.
Where did you generate your brain wallet? It should be a list of words that you import in Electrum and it generates your addresses (and private keys) from there, and not generating a private key somewhere else and importing it in Electrum.
12407  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet recovery, please need help on: June 11, 2018, 12:57:48 PM
So, you created a HD wallet (with a seed), exported the private key from a specific address on your wallet and now lost the seed and only have the private key from that address. Am I right?

If that's right, you can't get the other addresses from your HD wallet just from one private key. You will need the seed. Without it, the coins in the other addresses are gone.
12408  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to know where Electrum holds your bitcoins? on: June 11, 2018, 12:45:58 PM
The above or:

'View' -> 'Show Coins' to see the unspent inputs;
'View' -> 'Show Addresses' to see the addresses (mainly the ones not empty)

Is antivirus software necessary for Android?
12410  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is Electrum for Android really safe? on: June 10, 2018, 05:04:13 PM
TLDR: It's safe if you know how to secure your device (don't download random apks, don't give root permission to apps, don't let anyone get physical access to your device.

I honestly think that it doesn't matter if you want to hold your coins on your phone or computer. Both are secure enough if you know how to secure your device.

It's actually pretty simple to have standard security for your devices.

PC = Use anti-virus, don't download everything from the internet. Better if you just hold your coins in an offline cold-storage wallet.
Android = Don't root your phone. If you do, don't download random apks from the internet and don't give them root permission.

If you want to hold multiple coins other than Bitcoin, use Exodus for PC or Coinomi for Android.
x-post from an older post of mine.

I also think that using an antivirus on your phone is useless.
12411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange listing fees on: June 10, 2018, 04:00:39 PM
I don't think there is any list because almost no exchange discloses their numbers.

Yobit is the only one I know: https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/

• Free - 0.00 btc - no guarantee
• Premium - 0.1 btc - 4-7 business days (no guarantee in case of compilation issues)
• Exclusive - 0.5 btc - 2-3 business days (no guarantee in case of compilation issues)

But some articles suggest that most can charge up to $3 million.
12412  Other / Meta / Re: My old account still hacked... :( on: June 10, 2018, 03:34:51 PM
Did you follow these instructions to recover your account? Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords

Do like explained above and post the signed message here so a DT member can neg trust your hacked account. This would prevent the hacker from using your account to earn money while you recover it.
12413  Other / Meta / Re: [TUTORIALS] Bitcointalk night mode on: June 10, 2018, 01:30:03 PM
Great, but I don't use Chrome and there looks to be no way to do it on Firefox.

This is actually one feature I wish bitcointalk had as an option.  I do use night mode on my phone, and it's so much better.  On a related note, Youtube seems like they took the night option away because I can't find it now.  They suck anyway, and BCT doesn't.  There's been talk for years of some new forum software here, but it never seems to materialize--I'd been hoping night mode would be part of that, but I'm not holding my breath.
Download Stylish for Firefox and add a custom theme for BitcoinTalk.

Just go to the forum, click on the icon next to the URL, Library and install one of the dark themes.
12414  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a case of shitposting? on: June 09, 2018, 10:40:34 PM
Yes. He will probably get banned for low-value posts if a mod sees that.
12415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it okay to commend an OP? on: June 09, 2018, 03:19:38 PM
Do you have anything to add to the OP? Because I don't think it's necessary to go to each thread you liked and post something like "wow great post". This would be considered spamming.

But depending on what the post is about, and what you want to say, it would probably be ok. It's not like you can't thank or praise the OP for his post.
12416  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Locking thread after receiving specific/straightforward answers on: June 09, 2018, 02:03:06 PM
The author of the thread can lock his thread whenever he wants. The problem is that most of them don't know about this or don't care.

This has already been discussed a lot. Actually, last week someone created a thread with a similar suggestion: Threads should be locked after a certain time

Everybody knows that threads should be locked after being answered. But how should we enforce this? What is your suggestion?
12417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixing services on: June 09, 2018, 03:20:15 AM
I know theres no evidence but saying that it makes no sense is wrong because you know tainted coins from the darknet use mixers to hide their trail from the criminal source.

Having that said, other uses for mixers by users who are not criminals would be to hide wealth from the IRS or hide wealth from the wife which is worse than the IRS lol.

So? It still doesn't make sense. You think there are more "evil people" than good people mixing their coins. But who are you to say this? Where are your sources, research and/or data to corroborate with your "analysis"?

Saying that only criminals only use mixers is the same thing as saying that only criminals use Bitcoin. And we know as a fact that this is not true (p.s: an ACTUAL fact): Report: Less Than 1% of Bitcoin Used for Illegal Purposes

And please don't use the "they don't have anything to hide" bs excuse.
12418  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, do you guys remember Lumi Wallet? on: June 09, 2018, 02:15:34 AM
I was looking for a thread like this one (to see if anyone had already posted this article, otherwise I would).

Unfortunately, you posted this in the Bitcoin Discussion board, where the spammers never rest. Because of this, your thread has 0 replies and isn't even on the front page of the board anymore (it got buried pretty quickly by the SMT being pumped every few minutes). Why don't you move it to the "Web Wallets" board?

Now, back to the topic: this was all the Lumi Wallet team said after the article came out:

Quote
Dear Emin, Thank you so much for spending your time and helping us make @Lumi_wallet more secure. We would love to get you on board and work together on better product. Please check out our mobile wallet as this is what we concentrated on and where we have most of our users. 💙
https://twitter.com/Lumi_wallet/status/1005172315909492738

They didn't even deny it. So I assume the wallet is (or will be) a scam.

They also "deleted" their ANN thread when they got called out by Loyce and Lauda (who neg trusted them).

Old thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2372646.0
12419  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Problems with Yobit API on: June 09, 2018, 01:33:24 AM
So are there any methods which allow you to get info about all pairs from one request?
Probably not. They say this will be available in the API v4 (no ETA).

For now, it would be better to make multiple requests with the maximum number of pairs possible per request.

And what are the limits for sending request to yobit api?
From their FAQ, about 100 per minute.
12420  Other / Meta / Re: Watchlist shows posts which are not on my watchlist on: June 07, 2018, 08:38:42 PM
There is no such thing as "promotional posts".

Go to the Watch board and see if the Announcements board is there. If it is, type the id (159) in the textbox and press "Unwatch board".
