12441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of World leaders who have mentioned bitcoin? on: September 20, 2016, 06:16:07 AM
You should add the video, where Andreas talked with the Canadian senate or Parliament, because that was a significant moment for Bitcoin. I cannot find it now, if anyone can help searching for it, and post it? Since that event, things in Canada turned and there are a more open-minded approach to Bitcoin. ^smile^
12442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Voting on Current Bitcoin Infrastructure on: September 20, 2016, 06:03:09 AM
The only way, I can see this working, is if they randomly give our Bitcoin addresses to everyone that are eligible to vote. This way they can control the amount of votes being done, to restrict people from creating false or fake ballot papers. Each Bitcoin address will then represent a valid ballot paper. They can then just automated the verification process to see if all ballot papers are linked to a bitcoin address and you will know that it was done correctly.

All this can be done, by scanning the QR code linked to the ballot paper and then being compared to the database with all the bitcoin addresses. ^smile^
12443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxful CEO and CTO Arrested in Miami with AR-15, 500 rounds of ammo, cocaine... on: September 20, 2016, 05:55:24 AM
Ok, children what do we learn out of this mistake? < Answer > Do not play with your guns, when you are high on cocaine. How stupid can you be posing in public with guns and masks? In a country where everyone are paranoid about terrorism, and gun related shootings?

It is just a pity, these people are associated with Bitcoin, because the mainstream media will run with this again. ^hmm^
12444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing my $2,000,000 Into bitcoin (advice me) on: September 20, 2016, 05:45:15 AM
Do you already have a warehouse with cooling infrastructure, or do you need to buy or rent that too with the funds? You will have to factor that in too, if you do not have the space at the moment. This project will be on a industrial scale, if you already have the infrastructure, and you only need to buy the Asic's to mine. < Well on a small scale >

It is also advisable to have a location in a cooler region of the world, to cut down on cooling cost. ^smile^
12445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bankers will destroy block chain tech, decentralization, bitcoin? on: September 20, 2016, 05:34:22 AM
Why bankers want to destroy blockchain??   Huh  Banks use blockchain service and are now hyping blockchain technology. Ripple, nem, factom and so on. Blockchain will help bank, bank will promote bitcoin and blockchain technology.

The answer is simple, Bitcoin pose a threat to them, because it is a technology that can be used to bypass them. Possibly not entirely, but to a certain extent. Bitcoin has cheaper transactions and we have a faster network for global money transfers. The banks only target people with money, where Bitcoin can be used by everyone, so this also threatens their profits.

Do not for one moment think the Blockchain technology the banks are investing in, is anything like Bitcoin. It will be a private ledger in a decentralized < in house > form, which they will manipulate at will. ^hmmmmm^
12446  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it possible to create a cold storage wallet online ? on: September 19, 2016, 06:57:59 AM
The whole idea behind cold storage, is for it to be offline. There are too many exploits in any system for you to create secure < Paper wallets > online. Just download the script and run it on a offline computer, and you will be fine. Even if you asking this to create such a service, you will not be profitable, because nobody will use such a service. Would you store millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin, on a service that might store the private keys generated on their site? I will not trust such a service. ^hmmmm^
12447  Other / Off-topic / Re: Negative price on: September 19, 2016, 06:50:52 AM
In theory this might happen, because if the fiat price is ZERO, someone still need to pay the transaction fees, so you will end up with a negative price scenario. The miners will not work for free, and they might have jumped ship at a price of $200 where the break even point between profit and loss is.

They will also not do it for the block rewards, because it will not have any monetary value. ^hmmmm^
12448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Business Ideas? on: September 19, 2016, 06:40:02 AM
The highest profits to be made these days, seem to be with starting your own exchange. You start with very low fees, to draw in the crowds, and then you spend a lot of time gaining their trust, and once the deposited Bitcoin reach a high enough level, you move this money to your own Bitcoin address and claim that you were hacked. ^joke^
12449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you vote for a possible president that support Bitcoin? on: September 19, 2016, 06:32:13 AM
I do not believe most of the shit coming from politicians. When there is a election, they will say anything to get into power and once they are there, they will bend over to the powers who backed them in their campaign. The amount of money dumped into these election campaigns are enough to provide water for a few years for most small countries. In the end, these presidents are only a rubber stamp for the power and money behind them. ^hmmmm^
12450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not Money - Florida judge on: September 19, 2016, 06:24:29 AM
I think the whole USA with all it's states have a bit of a multiple personality disorder. You will travel from one state to the next, and the direct opposite of what is legal in the one state, will not be legal in the next. I think people from other countries will be confused, when they visit America. Most states seem to define Bitcoin as a commodity, and not a currency at the moment. ^hmmmm^
12451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Running a exchange is a very active job on: September 19, 2016, 06:18:46 AM
I think they spend most of their time trying to secure other people's money against their own employees and also from hackers online. On the other hand, if you look at all the hacks over the last couple of years, it seems as though they not spending enough time, on that aspect of the business. ^hmmmmm^
12452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I love about Bitcoin on: September 19, 2016, 06:02:58 AM
A lot of people will not agree with you, because they think the banks are out to serve them, but the opposite is true. The banks main goal is to make a profit, and this is where the problems come in. A profit driven service will concentrate on their interest, and they will charge you high fees to accomplish that.

Bitcoin serve nobody, and the technology and the price are driven by market demand and supply. ^smile^
12453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $6000 and Top Altcoins at $600? on: September 16, 2016, 06:43:13 AM
The value of fiat currencies are dropping, and inflation are slowly eating away it's value. In a few years, you will pay $300 for a Mc Donalds burger, and $600 for a Alt coin will be nothing new or spectacular. The $6000 price tag for a bitcoin will be a sad day, in an environment like that.

So yes, a $6000/BTC and $600/Alt coin is not totally unrealistic, but it depends what the buying power of a $ will be then. ^hmmmmmmm^
12454  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: www.PokeBits.com - Play Pokemon, earn bitcoin! Simple and fast game! on: September 16, 2016, 06:34:30 AM
Would it not be better for you, if you concentrated on 1 or 2 of your best faucets at most? You are aggressively buying faucets, but you have to split your time and energy between all of them. How do you get past the Pokémon trademarks and copyrights of Nintendo? ^hmmmmm^

Good luck with all your projects, you seem to be a busy guy. ^smile^
12455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitBastion is partnering with the Honduran government to create a crypto city on: September 16, 2016, 06:16:13 AM
This guy is playing the Libertarian flute, like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. ^smile^ He knows this forum is full of Libertarians and he is hoping to play the right tunes to attract them to invest in this idea. Tell me again, how many people are living in "The Free Republic of Liberland"? Dude, you would make a lot more money, if you created a city without libertarian political ideologies, focused on Bitcoin only shops. ^bye bye^
12456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop fuckin' around, fork the son-of-a-bitch already. on: September 16, 2016, 06:00:40 AM
I am going to walk on the safe path, and go with the direction these Core guys are going. Why do we need to change anything if it is working? The big blockers were creating Apocalyptic scenarios since this debate has started many moons ago, and guess what, nothing happened.

We have seen strange stress tests being done, to make people believe that bigger blocks are necessary, but the network came through with flying colors and these people lost money. Let's just take hands, smoke some weed and sing Bitcoin songs. ^smile^ After all, people are saying we are a bunch of perverted drug heads, so just make the best of it.   Shocked
12457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: stock market list of bitcoin and altcoin that can be bought using stockbrokers on: September 16, 2016, 05:44:25 AM
just a warning to those new to investing

you are not actually buying real bitcoin from most of these stock exchanges.
you are just playing around with fiat and using their market order engine to buy 'pretend bitcoin'

so when you log in.. always check to see on the 'withdrawal' options if you can actually withdraw bitcoin, and not just native currency, because most stock exchanges dont.
(their stock exchanges not currency exchanges)

meaning they are not secretly buying bitcoin on your behalf to hand to you later, meaning they are not linked to real bitcoin exchanges to affect bitcoins real market value.

in short
a pump /dump on a stock market doesnt affect real bitcoin exchanges in the majority of cases
if you cannot withdraw bitcoin from a stockmarket. then you are just playing with their pebbles in their sandpit that "meant" to represent bitcoin.
in laymens.. at best you are buying loosely termed shares in a company supposedly holding X bitcoin.

so dont get excited thinking your helping bitcoin. instead just think of it as a different investment tool to grow your fiat

Why did they introduce this into the markets? Just because they can create pebbles out of thin air, or because the legislative framework has not been formulated to cover Bitcoin as a commodity for direct trading? Is this not what the  Winklevoss twins are trying to solve?  ^hmmmm^
12458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tired of trying to explain what is Bitcoin and Blockchain? on: September 16, 2016, 05:37:55 AM
Great article, but I want to differ from you with this statement " There is also another method of offline storage; however, it is rarely used. " In my view, most Bitcoin are stored offline, because it is the most secure way of storage. Yes, the newbies store most of their coins in online wallets, but as soon as they realize how flawed that method is, they switch to offline storage. < Paper wallets >
12459  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where do Bitcointalk members invest besides cryptocurrencies? on: September 16, 2016, 05:30:01 AM
I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to Coin collection, and I border on being a Numismatist. I have been doing this since childhood, and I have a good collection. I think this is one of the reasons why I also got into Bitcoin, because I thought in the beginning that it was some sort of physical coin.

I now own a bit of both, and this will secure some of my financial problems in the future. ^smile^
12460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Very Beginner Used A..... on: September 15, 2016, 06:55:27 AM
It might raise some red flags with companies that has to adhere to strict anti-money laundering regulations, if they pick up that you are trying to hide your location or your identity. You might sign up with false documentation and then also try to mask your location. This will then lead to accounts being frozen or locked.

I would suggest you read the wallet provider's ToS and see if they prohibit the use of proxies and VPN's, before I use their service.
