12441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to buy bitcoin on: August 15, 2015, 04:36:09 PM
Where is more profitable to buy Bitcoin

Depends on the rates you want and the payment methods you are willing to use but since you didn't mention I'd recommend not to use Virwox on this matter since the fees are high and this is not what you are looking for .
and I guess it's not the only service that accept PayPal so if you are using something like Paypal, skrill ,Neteller then head to currency exchange section and search for members and give them the rates that fits you however you should use escrow and people may not trade large amounts with you since it's reversible method (some are easy like paypal )

12445  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Database ? on: August 15, 2015, 02:27:50 PM
I think basically how it works is that they just store an encrypted wallet file on their servers. So if their database is ever hacked, then the hacker could (potentially) just run off with all the encrypted wallet files they have on their servers.

Why is it impossible to recover a wallet if you forget your password? That's how this system works - since the entire wallet is encrypted, there is no way to decrypt it without the password. So if the password is forgotten, there's no feasible way to crack into the wallet and change the passphrase it's encrypted with, since you'd be trying to crack present-day encryption. It's not like a normal website login, where if you forget your password, all that's needed to let you into your account again is a small change in the database to update your password.
As for storing your bitcoin on Blockchain.info I'd recommend against that. Take a look into a desktop wallet such as Electrum. It's small, efficient and I'd argue that it's more secure than Blockchain.info, since everything is completely under your control.

I know about that (about using desktop wallet) , but I just wanted to know how they store to make sure that everything is ok because I put some Bitcoins little bit everywhere just to make sure I won't lose all at once in case something bad happens , I guess it's the wise thing to do .

So basically and if  iunderstood you right ... I can be safe from Online logging into my account 100% since I have 2FA (SMS on phone) however if their servers are hacked somehow then the hacker will own the wallet files and if my password is weak It will get cracked however if it's long and complicated then I'am safe 100% from anything ?
I wouldn't say that you'd ever be 100% secure

Why not ? I mean you can't access unless you have my phone , no ? Unless there is a way to get my phone number without actually getting it or bypass it like hackers do on Gmail or some shit like that ...
Because on my country nobody use Bitcoin so no one will think on going to Blockchain.info at all .

12447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will die forever ? on: August 15, 2015, 01:19:51 PM
Hiii guys .. I wanted to another thing, Iwas reading this article about Fiat wallets and stuff on CoinDesk and speaking about our subject related to BitcoinXT wanted to know aswell If we all switch to BitcoinXT does it mean that all Hardware wallet will become useless   Huh or they do have control on server-side and they could switch aswell to the new blockchain ?

As I understood, whatever is done with Bitcoin code, all the BIPs etc, hardware wallets will be fine as they will just be updated with another update.

I am a Trezor owner, and somebody started a thread few weeks ago by saying that after some future  update, Trezors will become useless and will have to be exchanged for the new ones. This turned out to be nonsense and a FUD.

Now, this is my understanding, someone correct me if I am wrong.

But logically ... and if I understood right If it's called "Hardware wallet" then it should all should be coded on Hardware , no ? so how in the world they will update it unless you bring it to them
12448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn 1BTC a year? on: August 15, 2015, 01:04:55 PM
It's pretty simple to do i guess , buy A Hero member account with high quality posting , enroll on a signature compaign that pays 0.0012 BTC or more per post, try to be helpful on the community and make open discussions if you make like 100 posts you will be making like 0.12 BTC per week and on two-three months you will get the money back (invested on hero member) + profit that you are looking for.
12449  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: August 15, 2015, 11:49:26 AM
and how you can increase your activity in your profile?

by posting of course , you will get a maximum of 14 activity each two weeks
check this topic right here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0 It will tell you when the activity reset happens .

however and as I stated above you should be posting , If you have 14 posts and 14 activity , and even if the reset activity happens your activity won't rise unless you have posts .

Here is a list to know to understand more how it works and when you upgrade to other rank :

12450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [EDU]How to protect your wallet on: August 15, 2015, 11:40:30 AM
Keyscramblers does not protect against keylogging hardware so its not an option if people have access to your computer. Majority of the virus does not get detected and most antivirus would be useless here. The best way is to not download any suspicious files or go to any suspicious website. A RAT can easily automatically send your money when you unlock your wallet. As most unconfirmed transactions are irreversible, it would be quite dangerous.

What do you mean with "Keyscramblers does not protect against keylogging hardware"? You mean keyscrambler is useless or that it can't help when someone is using a hardware keylogger?

Would keyscrambler at least be secure against software attacks?

By the way... entering passwords with something like that is one thing. But using keepass? I mean you oft enough would have to copy the password in your clipboard. Or when you want to type you would need to type the pass for keepass anyway, then show the pass.

I wonder if there can be done much anyway.

I just emailed their support team and I will post once I get a reply about those things . I read an interview between Qiran ( their CEO)and TechRepublic blog and on that time protection against Keylogging wasen't available so I'am not sure about now .

for what comes to KeePass , it's listed here : https://www.qfxsoftware.com/applications.htm so I assume it should be protected as should be
12451  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BIT-X.com | Bitcoin Debit Card | No Monthly Fees! on: August 15, 2015, 09:26:49 AM
I need some help here Marco or bit-x.com ...
How come that I have x amount on my bit-x.com wallet and on the blockchain it's not show the same amount ?

Bit-X like some other exchanges uses shared addresses (Bit-X keeps track of all finances internally). This means that your deposit address may be used by funds that are moving around temporarily.

The accurate number will always be the one in your balance once logged in!

Didn't knew since I Bit-x.com is the only exchange that I've used honestly so I will that in mind , thanks for the fast reply !
12452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / QFX Softwares Accepting Bitcoin soon ! on: August 15, 2015, 09:23:45 AM
As some of you may know that I'am contacting some companies around (Gaming ,softwares etc ... ) and try to convince them to use Bitcoin as payment method (even if I should get signature using Change.org)

I emailed QFX Softwares Corporation (KeyScrambler is one of their best and most used products on the world for Anti-Keylogging that most of you may know)

I decided to contact them specially after I saw that they are supporting most of the Bitcoin wallets as you can see here (see [EDU]How to protect your wallet :

And here is their positive answer , I'd advice you to check their product out if you didn't, at least this is how we show our appreciation I guess Smiley

12454  Economy / Web Wallets / Blockchain.info Database ? on: August 15, 2015, 08:28:28 AM
I know that online wallets aren't safe and they are hackable and stuff etc .. and I myself recommend people not to use them usually .
but when I created the account it says that they have no copie of our passwords and on this page : https://blockchain.info/wallet/new It says that "WARNING: Forgotten passwords are UNRECOVERABLE and will results in LOSS of ALL of your bitcoins!" then they have
"We require a password of at least 10 characters in length to ensure that even if our database is compromised your wallet will remain secure."

So I'am not sure if I'am missin something here but how come it's impossible to recover and they don't have copie of our passwords and on the same time ... their database can be compromised  Huh

Unless they have only copie of hashed and encrypted passwords on their database ? Shocked

All those questions is because I have some 0.xx bitcoins on my Blockchain wallet and I printed them but it wouldn't make a lot of sense to make paper wallet if it's gonna get hacked online , right ?

TL;DR Basically I want to know how blockchain.info accounts can get hacked to make sure I will be safe 100% (how they are encrypted , stored etc .)
12455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't Paste Bitcoin Addresses on: August 15, 2015, 07:43:59 AM
It's definitly a virus that you have there , it basically works like this : you copy adress to send to your friend for example , it changes it to the adress of the virus owner so you send it to him instead of your friend or whoever you was going to send it to .
I'd recommend you to wipe your PC right now and check this out my topic here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152619.0
12456  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need Help! on: August 14, 2015, 06:36:27 PM
I built a "read only" wallet by mistake. On this wallet are some bitcoins. How can I get it back? Huh

That's the purpose of watch only wallets mate , you can't spend your bitcoins , it's just to check them on adress regulary if they are on Paper wallet for example.
If you have private keys of your wallet then you could import them to different wallets . (e.g blockchain.info/

I've been looking to get into stocks for a few months now,I finally got enough money to spare to actually start. But I actually don't know where to start, can anyone tell me where/how to start?

I don't know from what country you are but there is this website called eToro is an epic website and you could even copy people on their profiles so you do what they do without any efforts and you keep earning , of course you should find someone that do actuall have history on the website and keep making a lot of profit . check it out (note that it's restricted on some countries like mine , sadly)
