Getting old blows.
..What is the alternative? ... Staying young would be preferable. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) ...It is also critical to privacy because otherwise miners can be in a position to start imposing requirements (such as identification) on transactions.
I don't quite understand this. ... But to really be effective, we need to build the community and network of applications (beyond mining, exchanges, and specualtion -- that's a start, but not useful long term).
And Market integration. Is there any thoughts on something like Open Bazaar?

...I'll add a comment.
That should work. ... 1. I have no idea why you think it isn't hard to find good developers. Apart from this project I can tell you that they are not easy to find and almost none are looking for work (some are always looking for better work though, but see #2 below).... I've watched Noble go through 3 or 4 of them trying to do a POS change without changing Chains and all have failed. so I don't think it's that easy to find a good one. And from what I've seen here you guys have a great crew! I truly enjoy reading all of your posts.

I knew this writing style sounded familiar ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm confused? You mean the misspelled "developper". I'm obviously missing some thing here. Do you mean that post was an attempt to troll? And that is why no-one ever answered this Since the fraud revelation linked in this post, the CryptoNote.org whitepaper has 404'd (part of the fraud was that this document was digitally signed with an obviously-wrong-by-multiple-years timestamp, so I guess that's why..). Do you or anyone have a link to a citable document describing their ring signature scheme? – Andrew Poelstra Aug 25 at 15:27 ? No, the general writing style, I recognized my writing style and then realised I forgot to properly fill my profile ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And, yes, I often mispell "developer", I did not even notice it, I4ll fix this, thanks. Ahh, Lol To an outsider looking in that part of the thread looks like an accusation is unanswered. I don't have write permission there so maybe you want to drop this link as a answer to his request? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg9752751#msg9752751From what I've read there as a whole I'd say he is a good supporter of this coin. That article is a great read. Wish I was younger and could soak this stuff up like I used to. Getting old blows. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Instead pointing out that Monero will "just be like Bitcoin" and somehow I doubt that will be enough for the holy grail (it isn't "golden" you infidel Tongue) of crypto, the "mass adoption". If we are honest with ourselfes, goals, targets than it isn't merely about value, it is all about adoption. We never said it will just be like Bitcoin. I think we already stated multiple times that anonymity won't be the only point of Monero, but its a must have. Mining decentralisation is one of the things that will be worked on for sure. If you're a darknet operator, this isn't a dick measuring contest, it's the difference between jail time and freedom. It'd be nice to hear from non-investors on the matter and have a legitimate discussion on which coin(s) is anonymous and which one(s) is just claiming to be anonymous--neutral territory, of course. If you want opinions from neutral people who have no hedge in monero, maybe read the post from gmaxwell (nullc): https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7765455Or Andytoshis post on stackexchange: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/29471/is-there-any-true-anonymous-cryptocurrenciesWhy hasn't this been answered? First of, I am a Monero core developper. I'll try to remain as factual and objective as possible, though.
Now, for the simple answer: use Monero
And for the longer answer: read Andrew Poelstra's very informative reply.
I would also add the following:
Zero-Knowledge Proof has several of fundamental issues that may not even be fixable (from the less critical to the most critical): trusted accumulator, lack of academic research, obscuring the whole economy means that it is impossible to notice a bug until the economy had already been badly damaged. See our comparison on Monero ANN. The CryptoNote technology is sound, but most actual implementation of it are not -- Boolberry and particularly Monero being the only ones worth considering, on the grounds of market confidence, activity and volume. Monero also works with the i2p initiative to obsfuscate IP (the only thing left visible once CryptoNote is in action).

These top 2 and 3 addresses look to be all or mostly pre-mine from the first 10 blocks. Easily found using the block explorer.
5Ko985vrMYeGFbSDye73mwF1SsupAUt73B 719900 5DJ4PrZM4gJS7YEiqs7MdKfjzkh311draa 619979
And the rest could be split up in smaller accounts. The only fair distribution was in less than 5k incriments IIRC from pre-mine and pre-mine was a whopping 70%!!!!!

I ask readers to embrace newcomers with patience. Put yourself in the position of one who never followed altcoins and never wanted anything to do with altcoins. Learning about the Cryptonote family alone and its long, varied history is almost overwhelming. I tried to provide an useful comparison/explanation on the state of anon coins. I hope you'll have as much pleasure reading as I had writing it. http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/2nu9rg/darkcoin_anoncoin_shadowcash_monero/cmh5ekrTHIS is a great read and a outstanding synopsis.

Complete waste of time until the premine is accounted for. NO-ONE will buy this coin with 70% unaccounted for.
first get a block explorer up and do a forensic analysis, otherwise you are wasting your time.

if the server is down, is there any way to get the keys working with simplewallet?
it would also be nice if mymonero could work as a bitpay bridge... e.g. i order a pizza and enter the bitpay invoice number to mymonery which tells me how much xmr i need to pay...
don't buy Pizza! you could be wasting millions. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I wouldn't take a simple JPG so seriously.
I used to run a bunch of these types of nominations back in the dot-com bubble, they didn't mean a lot except exposure for my website/project.
The sad part is that obvious P&D coins are being nominated just because the people behind them are trying to pump up the price more to dump it via one of these nominations.
The truth is as long as a new coin is still tied to the old BTC blockchain, there is really no innovation or improvement except a fancy new wallet that promises a lot but doesn't deliver.
Generation 2.0 crypto like NODE is trying to change the protocol of the blockchain (NODE has its own chain) and create a true whole new wave of tech, innovations, and improvements.
So don't take those nominations so seriously, in the end they are just created to pump the price of a favorite new clone coin.
We have great devs in NODE and we know it in this community.
I fully agree with you but there are some brilliant devs in that list. Brilliant yes, but many of them have succumbed to the nature of the clone coins. All they care is that their coin gets in the top 10 market cap. They could use their talents towards something better that would help all of alt crypto scene, but instead they rather beat a dead horse until it can't spit out any more BTC. I have even seen some of them troll other coins to create panic by using their reputation so their coin can get more BTC in. We have a great thing in NODE, don't let this discourage you. And that is why I voted Jason Curby. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
