I think mastering Bitcoin, by Andreas Antonopoulos os a great book
If you want to read about bitcoin, this is a good start.
12503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Segwit Address not recognised by my Ledger Nano S Wallet on: April 27, 2018, 10:05:34 PM
The address was not mistyped, it is correct. No need to try and post a photo, it won't change or prove anything I have not already stated.
Actually that is exactly what posting the photo will prove... Because then we'll be able to know if the photo matches the address you have stated.

It will also show that the address you sent to was displayed within your Ledger wallet.

What you need to understand is that there have been numerous instances of users on this forum claiming that "it was typed 100% correct"... Only to discover later that in fact the password or recovery seed or address was in fact typed incorrectly.

At this moment, we only have your word for it. It's nothing personal, and given how adamant you are, I'm sure it's true... But a copy of the photo would prove it 100%

Its obvious you can't help me and I have no idea how to post a photo on here. I can What's App it to you if that works?

BTW - When you see the screenshot of it and its correct - how can you help?

I can't help you, but I think this is one of the best places to look for help.there are some very knowledged members here.
Create an account at www.imgur.com and paste the photo there.
Then paste the link to the photo here.
12504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you keep your private keys?? I need good ideas!! on: April 27, 2018, 09:34:53 PM
As I think you can go through a hardware wallet. By doing so you not need to worry about your private key.

Evento using a hardwallet you need to keep your mnemonic phrase, those 24 words.
This almost as the same on mobile or online or desktop Wallets, you always need to keep the words / privatekey safe
12505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Segwit Address not recognised by my Ledger Nano S Wallet on: April 27, 2018, 04:59:40 PM

I have no idea how to post the photo on here but this is the BTC Segwit Address:-

36ezRREzDYH3uSvADoSSpoLZrFVigQkmLp

You cannot post images because you are a newbie in this forum.
If you post the photo on some website like imgur.com, just link the address here and I will post for you.

An address can easily be mistyped....
o instead of 0 for example, S and 5, I and l

I never tried to type an address, always ctrl C + ctrl V.

Is this still up?

If so, you can review my history. I made a few good posts recently , in English. I write some in portuguese too, my local board...
12507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realized that I won't see the moment when the last satoshi will be extracted on: April 27, 2018, 04:33:55 PM
Yes but you are among those who experienced the first moments when it was created,if bitcoin is allowed to be mined so easy and fast,it wouldn't be good for it because there is only a limited total supply of 21million and more than half of that has already been mined.

More than half.
Already 80% of total supply was already mined. There are 17 million Bitcoins in circulation.

Take a look here. The 17 millionth was mined yesterday.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3414598.0;topicseen

Still, we are very lucky. By 2140 bitcoin may be worth too much.
12508  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 27, 2018, 02:34:01 PM
I've added your first submission to my Watchlist, and if I have to reference it in the future then I will slide you a merit point at that time. For now though, you've already received multiple merit from multiple users so it doesn't really fit my criteria. It is a very well written post, it is informative, but since it's already received merit it will have to wait until it becomes something I reference. Your second submission is the same way. I would be giving these merit if they hadn't already earned as much as they have. Don't want to run out of merit quickly, so this is a rule for the safety of my merit; you'd be taking them all away otherwise. Sad

There you go, I've given your third submission a Merit, because I was unaware of 80%/17th million coin being mined and this was very interesting to me. There are some interesting implications that this will have on mining, supply/demand and all of that good stuff. I'll be jumping in your thread if I think of anything worth saying.

Thank you Bill Gator for your kind words and patience to write a feedback
I agree with you. I was in doubt if I should submit those as they were already merited, bit as I still need tons of merits for Sr and hero, well I just gave it a shot.

Aguardar pra ver!
12513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anniversary. 17 millionth mined. on: April 27, 2018, 12:14:49 PM
Idk what will happen if BTC run out. will BTC die? Or ETH will take BTC place as number one Crypto Coin? Please explain to me.

Theoretically  bitcoin will become more expensive as inflation decreases.

Miners won't be receiving as many bitcoin as they were receiving, so they will have less bitcoins to sell. Considering the same amount of people are willing to buy, and there are less bitcoins, they will have to pay more. Supply and demand law.
12514  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (PAUSED) on: April 27, 2018, 12:09:14 PM
The short answer is going to be, "yes". If there is no challenge going on, then there is no obligation for you to wear the signature. Although, one of the main points of this entire challenge is to kind of show the light to lower-ranking members about airdrops, bounties and spamming around the forum. Do as you wish, because the round has been "paused", not "extended".

You're free to come back when the challenge picks itself back up.

Yeah, this is why i joined this campaign at the first time...

In my opinion, airdrops and most bounties are a waste of time and they are not free, you pay with your privacy.

I joined a bunch of airdrops last year, about 20, a received just very few (about 5). I have sent documents, my telegram, created a twitter (already deleted anyway), etc.... did a bunch of useless tasks and received from 5cc to 20 usd. I think it's just a waste of time.

About twitter campaigns, that's a totally waste of time too. Time that could be better used studying and educating yourself about crypto. In the long term, you will make more money educating yourself than joining bounties.

It's a shame to see so many people doing those useless bounties for so long... they get involved mostly with bad actors, scammers and shitcoins. That's why so many people here say "ICOs are scam". Well they are not, there are many good ICOs around there, but many of them do not even come here to bitcointalk...

I think that if you are looking for good altcoin investment, Reddit is a better place to start.

I discovered some nice altcoins here, mostly those associated with good managers and that do not spam the forum, which use only sig campaigns.

Bitcointalk is amazing to talk about bitcoin.
12515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Changelly Partners Up With Its Major Competitor Binance on: April 27, 2018, 11:48:42 AM
The instant cryptocurrency exchange service provider, Changelly has come into a partnership with the top cryptocurrency trading platform, Binance. As coinomi is integrated with changelly... So coinomi wallet is now integrated with binance? This can be a very interesting news.

It's like keeping your money on an exchange, but it's on your wallet.
12516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin anniversary. 17 millionth mined. on: April 27, 2018, 11:18:30 AM
Yesterday, april 26th 2018, the 17 millionth Bitcoin was mined. It's somehow a bitcoin aniversary. Only 4 million to go, 80% of total supply.

Bitcoin is still a inflationary currency. According to BashCo.github.io we have now 3,8% inflation rate per year, as the block reward is still 12.5 BTC per block. By 2021 we will have a halving, and inflation rate will drop to 1,7% as reward will drop to 6.25

Source: https://BashCo.github.io and https://www.coindesk.com/17-millionth-bitcoin-mined-means-matters/

According to Statista, global inflation rate is 3,15%, which is lower than bitcoin inflation rate now.

Let's wait to see the impact on price when bitcoin has a inflation rate lower than the global inflation rate.
By 2025, 0,8% inflation, according to bitcoin wiki and BashCo.

I will be holding until then.
12517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC Segwit Address not recognised by my Ledger Nano S Wallet on: April 27, 2018, 10:59:38 AM
I had a problem with missing transaction on Ledger app,but it was because I use one of the address from Sign Message option which is not visible to Ledger Bitcoin App,but it was still there and with increase gap address limit in Electrum problem is solved.

It is not possible that address is just disappear like it was never part of that seed...

OP it would be good to post that transaction and photo you take with that specific address.

this is a known issue with ledger nano

check this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/6yi161/signing_a_segwit_address_message/?st=jc1mwoja&sh=7589a31e

When you sign a message with a segwit address in ledger nano, it will sign a message with the associated legacy address, as there is no standard to sign with Segwit addresses yet.

Aniversário do bitcoin ontem.
Cara vc tem q virar merit source Wink
12519  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Aniversário do Bitcoin – 17 milhões minerados on: April 26, 2018, 11:37:55 PM

Fonte: https://BashCo.github.io

A inflação global média está na faixa de 3.,15% de acordo com o Statista, a qual é menor do que a inflação atual do bitcoin.

Vamos esperar para ver qual será a reação do preço do Bitcoin quando a inflação for menor do que a média mundial.

12520  Other / Meta / Re: suggestion: short replies by merit on: April 26, 2018, 10:32:20 PM
I think you refer to a system as Reddit voting system.
Many people have armies of accounts that can be used to influence the system and make certain signatures appear first.
merit points still means a kind of excellence for the post/topic.
Personally, when viewing a lot of replies, I give merited posts a higher value.

Yes, something like reddit system.

But an army of accounts cannot do that in bitcointalk, as merit is totally differente than an upvote.
If you create an army of newbies, they have zero smerit.
