12501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Full Node Survey (Please Help - Takes a Second) on: August 10, 2015, 10:57:08 AM
I do run my PC 24/7 most of the time with or without running a node so electricity isn't really a problem for me to be honest but lately I have experienced a lot of issues with Bitcoin Core one of them is Database corrupted each time I reboot PC (even if I close it before restart) and it takes too much time ... I mean imagine each time I run it it gives database corrupted and it should Reindex once again the whole file and it takes up to two days for that , I should do this over and over again and when I asked around the forums people said it could be a Hardware or RAM problem so I gave up on it and Switched to Lightweight wallet .
12502  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Faucets - how much do those sites make in ad revenue? on: August 10, 2015, 10:47:42 AM
Thanks for your response. Mind if I ask a few more questions?

So the site owner can choose if they want to get paid per ad click or page views? And that it can pay from $0.50 to a few dollars per day.

IF we use freebitco.in as an example...and if that site uses the payment per 1000 page views model, the minimum amount paid out from the faucet for 1000 page views is about $1.85 (assuming a $265 bitcoin price AND that the minimum faucet payout is 700 satoshi). So that site needs to get more than $1.85 or 1,000 times the minimum faucet payout to potentially break even on their venture.

What's the average pay rate for the 1,000 page views pay model?

Dollars a day doesn't seem worth it. And maybe this was your point...giving me enough info to satisfy my question and keep me concluding that it's not worth my time.

It´s worth the time and money if you do it right, freebitco.in has a lot of other advertising ways like you can buy an ad on their webpage, they also get paid by google or depending on what company they decided to use, google pays a lot more for clicks than views, obviously they get a lot of money and they are profiting from it, they have a dice game as well so people lose more money there.

Freebitco.in are just lucky on my opinion because Google Adsense don't allow gambling content and Freebitco.in do have that as far as I know .
@OP there is planty of bitcoin advertising networks , you should use Adbit.co I'am not sure about the fees but here is the revenues (Moonbit.co.in) is basically earning 0.3 BTC a day but as yo ucan see he have a lot of traffic .
So basically all you need to know is "traffic" , if you have shitload of traffic you will have shitload of money to pay users on the faucet + some profit

12503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin nodes voting rights on: August 10, 2015, 09:41:51 AM
That would be a disaster basically , nodes have the right to vote is just like voting on Bitcointalk polls basically people have alternative accounts and they could vote more then once which screw things up .
Also how they are supposed to know who is running a node and who is not , even by using something like https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/ I suppose it's possible to trick and make software that does the same thing as Bitcoin Core , also ... how they will know you didn't run Bitcoin Core only for the moment of the vote then close it . All that looks complicated
12504  Other / Meta / Re: Am I the only 1 get this problem? on: August 10, 2015, 09:26:00 AM
This 1-2 weeks, '502 Bad Gateway' appeared when I am surfing on this forum, but it will like for few minutes or less, then back to normal.
But it happens like few times a day now.

Just want to ask is this only happened on mine...

I swear I just was going to make a thread about it on the Meta . I'am experiencing this the last few days yes
but today it's the first ... Slow loading and it keeps poping out , from my experience , this should be a DDOS attack I guess.
12505  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Check Potential Activity on: August 10, 2015, 07:10:24 AM

12506  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice promotional video on: August 09, 2015, 08:06:44 PM

Honestly , It's funny rofl.
It's nothing well made or professional , bad choice of music & it looks childish , basically 5/10 but funny as I said .
12507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner here on: August 09, 2015, 06:37:42 PM
Hello ,
I`m a beginner here even if I gain a small amount of BTC with faucetbox .
What else show I do ? I don`t expect bigger gains but at least more than I gain with faucebox .
Also , I use xapo to store my BTC . I need to know what do you use to transform that BTC in dollars to transfers in paypal .
I used virwox but maybe I am missing other sites .

1) FaucetBox hmm ? If you mean running a faucet then I'am not sure how much are your earnings but if you are doing faucets then you are probably earning few Satoshi's and nothing more . I never recommend Gambling for people either your a billionaire or have 1$ , So to start earning some decent BTC , I would recommend you to buy a Senior member (with high Quality posts) make sure high quality posts to get accepted in Bit-x.com signature compaign payout will be : 0.0011 BTC / post .

EDIT : Forgot to mention that Senior Member accounts costs 0.2-0.25 BTC (could be more or less)

2) Assuming that you have few Satoshi's then no body will trade with you because no body trade such low amounts but since you already used Virwox I guess you have some decent amounts .
Now what you could do is use Bit-x.com , check payment methods accepted and all needed here (Withraw using Paypal available) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=874312.0 Otherwise you can trade on Currency exchange section on Bitcointalk with other members just make sure to use Escrow Smiley

- Back to earning once again ... If you have skills like GFX , Programming etc .. whatever you are good at it then what I said on the TOP is not recommended (don't buy account) and offer your services that could make you some good amounts of BTC Smiley Good luck feel free to ask more questiosn
12508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are bitcoins accepted by Amazon.com? on: August 09, 2015, 04:41:38 PM
Hello,

I am sorry if this has been asked already by someone. Does anybody know if Amazon accepts bitcoin debit cards (e.g. Visa or other) for payment for books etc?

Many thanks!
dionv

They should yes , there is Bit-x.com & Advcash cards which are the best on the business I guess (Advcash is cheaper and with lower fees)
Or there is Purse.io where you could save 20% from your purchases (but it's not a direct way , you should basically find someone who need BTC , and he pay the item for you all that on the website yes.)

12510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Comedian Louis C.K Begins Accepting Bitcoin on: August 09, 2015, 04:24:23 PM
American comedian and producer Louis Székely, professionally known as Louis C.K has started to accept bitcoin payments for his comedy show performed at Madison Square Garden.

The audio-only show can be purchased with bitcoin through BitPay, and customers can choose the price for this audio album. Louis CK mentioned on his website:

“We have the price set to 5 dollars but you can lower it to 1 dollar or raise it to 85. that's the maximum, because beyond that, I don't want your crazy money.”

Louis C.K is the first comedian ever to accept bitcoin for comedy albums and shows.

You can read full article write here : http://cointelegraph.com/news/115085/comedian-louis-ck-begins-accepting-bitcoin

There is also a fan who said : "“I was actually just looking for some standup comedy on Youtube, then noticed this post. Best $10 ever spent.”

I personally don't know this guy because I'am not from USA and never heard of him or saw him on TV but he seems like a celebrity and it's nice to see Celebrities like him and Mike Tayson coming to Bitcoin world Smiley What do you guys think ??. Also in case you want to support the guy here is his website : louisck.net , He added Bitpay on the payment methods .

12512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who thinks Gavin Anderson knows who Satoshi is? on: August 09, 2015, 12:46:12 PM
Do you think Gavin has knowledge of who or how to reach Satoshi?

Most likely there is a lot of persons , Theymos (won't make sense to give him control of forum unless he trust him for real) , Sirius ( who created forum with Satoshi and control Bitcoin.org I assume ) and Gavin too if he isn't already Satoshi but I don't think he is because it would be too obvious .
but Gavin claim he was in contact with Satoshi in email so it would be kinda fucked up if he was emailing himself Shocked also seems like he dissapeared once they CIA asked to talk to gavin
12513  Economy / Gambling / Re: Its only for stunna the pd owner on: August 09, 2015, 12:38:54 PM

if he is Addy123 as he says , he probably won't get anything but another negative trust from DF members .

Check here : http://www.reddit.com/r/Primedice/comments/2myyva/scammer_alert/
Stunna himself or one of the administrators/developpers said in comment : Addy123 is a known scammer. Permanently muted.

12514  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New scammer on board on: August 09, 2015, 10:43:35 AM
Also check here (Add to OP) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148077.0
He is trying to give bad reputation to Stunna & PrimeDice and claiming Bitcoins that he don 't have .
12515  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would running a faucet be profitable today? on: August 09, 2015, 10:36:20 AM
It's basically hard these days , there is too much competitors on this area & Freebitco.in and Moonbit.co.in are the most known and famous .
So what you should take in consideration is that your faucet should give the highest payout around and in the same time nothing too big otherwise you won't be making any profit , You should also build your own using Blockchain.info or BlockTrail.com API instead of using Microwallet or FaucetBox and simillar websites because people like something simple and don't like to use third party websites . one more thing that if you want profit you should ask people to disable their Adblock .
If you do all that then you will more then likely get shitload of traffic . for Advertising I don't think you should pay because you are giving away free money so just make a topic on Bitcointalk and sumbit it on Reddit from time to time and you should be fine .

That was earning money part , now so you don't lose as I said you need custom coded faucet and add many features on AdminPanel for example detecting IP's and stuff so you ban people who claim using several accounts because you should know that some people make multiple accounts and even using BOTS .
12516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt and Malwarebytes ? on: August 09, 2015, 09:45:58 AM
So most of all it's nothing dangerous and I can keep using it just fine if I understood you right
But in the future should I exclude the websites on Malwarebytes or that would be dangerous or letting them is just fine
12517  Economy / Gambling / Re: Its only for stunna the pd owner on: August 09, 2015, 09:15:33 AM
Assuming that this you since it's the same name . It seem to be worst since it's from March .. ..
you also deposited then most likely gambled and withrew 0.1 BTC , after it (don't show in screen) you deposited couple of times 0.05 BTC and you probably lost them all and that's why  you didn't withrew anything .

12518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt and Malwarebytes ? on: August 09, 2015, 09:11:56 AM
Well you definitely did not provide enough information for anyone to asses what might have happened.
You do realize that when running a node your IP is exposed and thus you're vulnerable to various malicious things without using proper security?

I do know that mate , and I guess you are the one who told me on previous threads Smiley but what are the security measures that should be taken exactly , Anti virus or anti malwares should be enough . for me Im not longer using it but my friend is

for what comes to the informations , to be more specific it's gives something like this (another IP and the path to bitcoin-qt) so I was wondering how dangerous this could be .

12519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transferring Bitcoin to wallet on: August 09, 2015, 09:04:05 AM
Thank you for answering my question Smiley I still have some questions. Can I transfer Bitcoins from one wallet to another, for example from xapo to electrum?

Yes you can as far as I know even if I never used Xapo before . if there is a send tab on Xapo , go to it
and go to "Receive" Tab on Electrum , copy one of the adresses and paste it on the "Send" tab of Xapo then send from Xapo to Electrum it's that's simple Grin
12520  Economy / Gambling / Re: Its only for stunna the pd owner on: August 09, 2015, 09:00:50 AM
When exactly have you done that mate . you deposited to 1B2VoSY6qDuUw1QuZwsC7DxArhinR6bPuC  ?
That's nonsense because the last transaction has been made on the wallet was on May (which is three months ago) , and the amount that is on the wallet right now is 0.09 BTC and I guess that's what you want to get Wink Still , I would like to see this "proof" even if the Blockchain is more then enough

yes i have sent alot of mails to pd support they didnot answer me dear

When was that man , I edited my post and posted the blockchain.info link and last transaction was on May . so you remembered that you deposited after three months  Huh
