any word yet it's getting very close to the end of year . Smiley ...

Sadly the silence I think speaks what most likely is happening.

What country are you in?  Laws are different between countries on what a exchange needs.
12563  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 17 to Dec 29th diff thread (-0.32%) to (-0.12%) on: December 30, 2014, 05:03:20 AM
Well, I can't say I expected the spike in the past few days. What do you guys think it is? A new datacenter? Maybe BITMAIN is putting some of its S5s online.

Maybe it's just luck.  Undecided

Well all that went to paycoin came back a while ago.   Most likely Bitmain and SP new gear.  There are wildcards like avalon, bitfurry, etc. I expect we will see some increases as some of the data centers get rid of old gear and can run twice as much hash or so for same amount of electricity.
12564  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon4 1T Evaluation on: December 30, 2014, 04:57:42 AM
Will be intresting once pictures are fixed Smiley (looks like its fixed now).

Intresting miner do you have a kill-a-watt you can plug it into to show us the usage there?

^This is really making a big issue over pulling an extra 50GH out of a unit - a value of less than $18. voiding warranty or buying a second $20 fan and spending the time to install it is not worth it.

At the peak speeds, any improvements you make come at the cost of about 1-1.2W/GH. Running at 1500GH uses approx 210W less than running at 1700GH. Unless you have very cheap power it will likely make sense by summertime to throttle back the hardware to improve the overall efficiency - or have heat problems.

I personally have 3 arriving this week that I hope to achieve ~1400GH/800W so that the fan can be kept at a reasonable volume. At $0.15/kwh it doesnt make much sense for me to try and get another 300GH/400W out of the unit, as the added hashrate gains are entirely spent on added power draw. Same reason as Ive throttled my SP10 units from 1400Gh to 1260GH to save 200W

Sorry @knlondike but you misunderstood me.

You calculate with a fix price of the machine.

Calculate cost and profit.

I'm not speeking about the only 50ghs but when the weather gets warmer this will be 100ghs (from 1680 ghs) or more.

At 20 pieces it's 2000ghs....

And i have room much more than 20....

I hope you unerstand why i'm trying to find some solution.....

curious what you pay for power. I understand the aspect of clocking hardware to its limit if its profitable, but if you need to make >$10 in modifications to gain 50GH/60W per unit, plus have slightly more PSUs/TH it could be more practical to buy an extra SP20 for that extra 1.65TH/$500. If its a hobby to do modifications though thats another story Smiley

Ok I'll give up...  Smiley

For me it's not hobby... It was a hobby with a Jupiter and some S1-s.

Maybe would be practical to buy one more unit for sure. But I have a lot of high cfm fans and other parts laying around....

But at this point I give up. You don't know a lot of details so you can't make a judgement what am i do and why. But trust me, I have the reasons.

So back to the original question.

Any ideas to improve the cooling?  Grin

Very strange, was a profitable hobby when the Jupiter and S1 were profitable, now the sp series are not.  So now is unprofitable hobby/business

Really all of this should go in another topic. But...

I don't agree saying SP gear is not profitable. They have so many different miners, there is no one size fits all on calculations.   I have ROI'ed almost every miner I have had.   You need cheap electricity, run as long as you can.  With SP20 you have a heck of a under clock theses will be running for quite a while.  At end sell to someone with "free" or even cheaper electricity.  If you keep PSU's you can go to another generation without some of the upfront costs.
12566  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 5 Megawatt for mining (1UAH~6 cents $ per 1kW) on: December 29, 2014, 06:43:27 PM
I don`t mean to host in big new data center private miners (in small quantity) or something like that.

Please, see the first message in this thread. We sell electricity and have buildings for rent.

You don`t need to invest in "don`t know what". Write me in PM, what do you want for your needs.

And yes, there are no pics for security reasons. But its for the first time..

Making contracts, all procedures and conditions are clear.

How would a picture from inside possibly be a security risk?  Expected to show you have the space and heat exhaust is very fair to ask.

Also you should have a real security system, if your only security measure is trying to hide it that is not best solution.

those thing should break even in one months, based on the calculator, dunno if coinwarz is correct

not bad at all for an asic scrypt

That is if they ever arrive.  Given Hashra's track record on delivery I wouldn't be counting my chickens yet!!

I believe the devices exist, but reading through his past history of late delivery, I'm trying to keep my hopes up of not having a 3 month delay.

I just think they would have shown more then rendering if it exists.   There are a lot of parts they could show if it truly is here, but so far silence.

12568  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 29, 2014, 04:35:49 PM
Oh I didn't have any specific cooling liquid so I am using distilled water at the moment?

You will have problems due to the mix of copper and aluminium in the loop. I have no idea over what timescale it will become a problem, but it would be advisable to add an additive or swap out to dedicated coolant which won't have the same problem.

So the provided cooling radiator is copper?   That's a surprise.

Because water carries 50% more heat than ethylene glycol, the basic ingredient in most antifreeze coolant,  I want to use distilled water (~.68 cents/gallon in Walmart) and perhaps rig up a PVC water filter with the guts from a quality water filter advertising removal of metal ions.

Go with the coolant.   What ever you save initially you will pay more in the long run if you don't have coolant or additives if you truly have to go with water.
12569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 29, 2014, 04:18:28 AM
My pump died within 2 months of batch 2!

I've emailed bitmain for rma details...

Anyone else had this problem in batch 2??

It's a painful process with syscooling.  They will want multiple videos of troubleshooting it with various tutorials that they forward to you.  It could take over two weeks.  My pump was DOA and after back and forth I bought a XSPC that is build much better.  Although at about 70 usd.

I wont go into my story again on pumps.  But i bought 2 of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/380693788606 still working great.

Bitcoin Difficulty:    39,457,671,307
Estimated Next Difficulty:    40,817,405,339 (+3.45%)
Adjust time:    After 253 Blocks, About 1.6 days

We knew it would not last forever.   There should be some S5's and some SP20's from group buy in that above.
12571  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Any reason my laptop wouldnt let me use these. on: December 29, 2014, 12:27:51 AM

12572  Bitcoin / Mining support / How to check total watts a breaker box has goin to it. on: December 28, 2014, 03:40:58 AM
I am trying to work on finding best spot for miners in a few different spaces.  I have 2 wires coming to house and a building from electrical pole.

Is there a way to hook up a multimeter to see what total watts are going to a breaker box? (I'm not wanting to see amount used but amount that could be used there)
12573  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 28, 2014, 02:02:04 AM
For those looking for way to do fan (constant level) I still stand by this being best way I have found.

http://www.amazon.com/Phobya-4-Pin-3-Pin-Splitter-Connection/dp/B007S3T4O0/

Molex cable is not used by anything in most C1 installs so use one of those to this and you have 6 3 pin connectors.

I would like to purchase these but will not place an order until they are shipping.  I ordered a BFL Monarch and was lucky to get a refund 3 weeks before the FTC shut down BFL.  I feel lucky I just gave them a 6 Month no interest loan.  I will never preorder again.
As an aside WTF LTC nethash 2.25TH/s. Est next diff 73441 earlier.

**Edit that was the nethash Coinwarz was showing earlier.  Not sure it was accurate.  The estimated diff was from wemineltc.

I'm suprised people are ordering at all.  I still would LOVE to see pics, videos, anything besides rendering.   Should we not see a bunch of chips from the maker at this point?  Or a bunch of cases, internal controller boards, etc.  Should be a heck of a lot of stuff they could show.
12575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: sCrypt mining rigs on: December 28, 2014, 01:47:33 AM
So has no sCrypt ASIC been released? If they have, can you link me? KTHXBAI

Yes there have been many.  The best (so far) is most likely the A2 as far as widespread.   There are a few new ones that hopefully will come out with better specs.  It is kinda in between on generations.
12576  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining that profitable? on: December 28, 2014, 01:44:10 AM
When you say cheap how much is cheap?   Electricity price is a huge factor.

With 16 units you will also need some cooling.   That is a decent amount of heat.  Make sure to factor electrician and his services and parts, and also cooling and a constant cooling bill.
12577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have I Been Scammed By This Service??? on: December 28, 2014, 01:40:00 AM
Anytime one person has has their first post going to a scam site is really fishy.  There is a good chance it is OP's.

I've read some good things about the EVGA 1300G2 PSUs for these.  I'm stepping up from putz around mining to some(5) of these jackson s20 boxes.  Any other good PSU options?

you can do 3 sp20's with 2 evga 1300 g2's

you need to run the sp20's in the 1200gh area.

if you are willing to run in the 1150-1250 speed.
other decent psu is a 750 watt corsair rm

a seasonic  760 watt plat

a seasonic 860 watt plat  can run at 1300gh

sidehack has some hp 2000 watt servers  they can do 2 at 1350 gh

or 3 at 1025gh

Biffa is correct about the superflower leadex gold 1300w

Thanks for this great reply.  I'm luckily in a place where power and cooling are being provided for free for the next year, so I'm not sure I'm going to underclock this first batch.

I am in winter myself hard to beat free to cheap cooling.  Winter keeps the SP20's very cold.  I still love them no regrets at all with buying them.

To reach anywhere near max performance (1.7TH +/- 10%) they need to be somewhere very cool (sub 10°C) and have the fans running at min 80 speed, just make sure you can keep them somewhere where noise isn't an issue

You can run them at 1.5TH with 40-50% fans at 20-25°C ambient and they are tolerable in say a separate room.

Or you can replace the fans and underclock them and keep them under your bed Cheesy

Did he just make these dates up?

Considering he still has not released proof or explained dates I would say so sadly.

Throw out a number cheaper then other miners by a good amount, with newer technology gets some attention.  Make a order by date....  a way to get a few extra to feel rushed and order without proof.

Can you please release pictures, video, anything new?
12580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I do on: December 27, 2014, 08:01:24 PM
VPS and  CPU are worst you will never make the cost back.  If you get a miner personally I would look at newer the S1 is just getting old.   Even with free electricity you can get some new models with a lot more power for the same electricity used.
