I'm not sure that a change of coach will have any effect on PSG. Every year they top the domestic league and that's understandable because they have no serious competition and have a stellar squad of players. But in the Champions League they constantly fail. I can't speculate what might be wrong with the club, but it seems to me that the coach doesn't play a major role in this situation.

For me, it is only in situations where the club doesn't have good players that the coach can be exempted of the blame for the failure of a club. A club like PSG should be doing better than they're doing. And I'm not even talking about their performance in the champions league, their performance in the league is not also convincing.
PSG won the league with only a couple of points last season. If Lens had half the resources PSG have, Lens would have most likely won the league. That tells a lot about the coach.

I know that PSG as a club make very wrong decisions in terms of signings but with he players they have hey should be doing way better than they are doing.

the assessment given by Napoli is excessive for me, I think because they don't want to sell Osimehn and therefore scare possible buyers, but it could be a risky move because they could then sell him for much less money or lose him on a free transfer! a risk that I would sincerely avoid if a team presented itself with a sum close to 100 million

Osimhen is on a contract that expires in June 2025 so keeping him to play for one more season before you sell him is a very good decision by Napoli.
Nobody is going to buy Osimhen for anything higher than a hundred million, so if they keep him for an additional season and hopefully his value doesn't depreciate, he can be sold for 100 milli0n. That would be very good business for Napoli. The only risk they are facing now is that his value might drop next season, and this would only happen if Napoli don't perform well.

I would like Osimhen to spend one more season at Napoli. He's loved and respected there so if will be good to honor them with one more season since he's still young and enjoying his time at Napoli.

It is not a matter of having too many super stars in a team. Atleast PSG is a case study that names doesn't win champions league. They had Cavani who could not do it alone and they added Neymar and both could not bring the trophy for them.
They added the young talent, Mbappe and he could not do it together with the Brazilian samba boy.
Atleast the world best player was added to them and yet nothing happened.
This is something PSG dont understand. You need a balanced squad to win the champions league. Its not having many superstars in the attacking positions alone. The defense and midfield positions have to be solid as well. You don't have to have the best players in the world before you win prestigious trophies. Just have a solid squad that covers all areas of the pitch. If you look at PSG only their attack was solid, their midfield have always been whack. Veratti is the only world class midfielder they've had in a long time.

What you need to win the Champions League is a very good defence and good forwarders and that's it.

The midfield too.
I believe the midfield is the most important part of a team. No matter how good your team if, if you have a bad midfield the team will suffer. Defending starts from the midfield and attacking starts from the midfield. Every strong team always have a strong midfield.

Regarding Arda Guler rumors, it seems that this young player will prefer Real Madrid to Barcelona and will be one step closer to reaching an agreement, this has also been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The clause fee is around 17.5 million euros and Real Madrid gives the above clause 20 million euros plus add ons and I think the move Real Madrid took was very smart to get Arda Guler. Meanwhile, Barcelona maybe they don't have the attraction to be able to recruit Arda Guler at a low cost. It seems that the competition between these two teams will never end on the field and even outside the field.

Good deal for Real Madrid. I think Real Madrid just went all out for Arda Guler just because they don't want Barcelona to have it. Since the saga of Neymar where they lost Neymar to Barcelona, Madrid have made sure it doesn't happen again. We saw it with both Vinicius and Endrick.
It would be best for Madrid to allow Guler play one more season at Fernebhache. With Modric at the twilight of his career, Guler will be a very lovely replacement in midfield. It's also a good deal because Guler can also play as the RW and that would provide back up and competition to Rodygo.
1265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 05, 2023, 10:14:40 PM
Manchester city simply took advantage of other teams lapses to secure their champions league victory. Am very sure if Haaland were to leave come next season, that the team would find it hard to even remain top 3 on their English league.

What?
Why would you say this? This team won the premier league in the two previous seasons before Halland without a center forward. Without Halland Manchester City is still a very good contender to win the English premier league.
You don't have to be a fan to acknowledge what a club has achieved.
You watched Manchester City play and you say Halland is the only reason why they are top of the league? Joke.

And what do you mean by "Manchester City took advantages of other teams lapses to secure their champions league"
City played welled and won their games. One beautify thing about the champions league is that the best team of the tournament doesn't necessarily win it, making it very difficult to predict the winner accurately. But Manchester City were the best team of the competition and they won it. They won all their games convincingly also.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2023/24 Season on: July 04, 2023, 08:31:39 PM
Barcelona are intentionally putting this high release clause to all of these young players to show that they won't be sold to any team. It has been like this for Pedri and Gavi. And it looks like Barcelona have made the same decision about Arda Güler as well. It feels really good to see a Turkish talent having an opportunity like this to improve himself more.

However I would have really liked to see Arda continuing to play for us for a couple of more years at least. We don't see this much talented young players in our country often. When we have such player this time we can't hold them here after big teams make offers for them.

The Turkish League continues to get worse in quality and I really don't know when we can reverse this.

I have watched Ada Guler several times and I can confirm that he's a massive talent. It would be difficult for Fenerbahce to hold on to a talent like that for a long time. When I watched him last season, I was convinced he wouldn't remain in the Turkish league for a very long time. I even expected the drama surrounding him this summer to be more than this because he is that good.

The deal with Barcelona keeps him in Turkey for one more season which is a good thing for all parties. Its good for Fenerbahce because they have one more year to enjoy this wonderkid and one more year to scout for replacement. Good for Guler because it gives him one more year to improve and find himself more while its good for Barcelona because another season will most likely creat space in the right wing or the midfield for Guler.

The Saudi Arabia league is not third none 10th in the world yet, but the progress their making it obvious they will be top five in four years to come except you're not observing well and following up. this big stars that's in the league already will encouraged the young stars to believe that their dream in football are real. the younger stars will be notice now globally because for the rapid changes in the league. no body should predict the Saudi Arabia league wrongly, they are making a progressive moves. first was to sign Ronaldo  to bring global attention to the league, Today every players wants to consider it. and more sponsors are already in the league.

To me the Saudi league wont develop more than it already is and it would certainly not be among the top 5 leagues in the world in four years.
Its not about buying stars to the league, it about increasing the quality of football. People would not keep watching if the quality of football is not like that of European teams or the competition is not like that of Europe.
They can't develop young players that would get to the level of stars in Europe.
If you sign stars that have past their prime to your league wont make the league among the best leagues in the world.
What can make it a great league is a league with progressed competition that the best players at their prime will wish to play in it. The Saudi league cant do that, not in four years at least.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 04, 2023, 07:32:03 PM
Nobody would want to spend 180 million for him, and even 150 million would be a question mark, somewhere close to 100 million would be more than enough, that's it, nothing more and Napoli doesn't accept that. If they keep on rejecting that then it means they are not going to end up with anything decent and we are going to see them do a lot worse next season.

Napoli slapped that price tag on Osimhen because they are not willing to let go of him. They know nobody would but him for 150 million, talk more of 180 million. But if any club is ready to pay that much to buy him for that amount, Napoli has nothing to lose. 180 million euros can be used to strengthen that Napoli squad so well.

If Osimhen is to leave Napoli his should go to Liverpool. He will definitely play well in Liverpool. Liverpool will create chances from the midfield and wing next season and that is a strikers delight. As a goo striker once chances come from different part of the pitch you will definitely excel.
Bayern Munich too is another club that Osimhen will fit in so well. They also create chances for their strikers. I would not want him to go to Manchester United or Chelsea.
1269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 04, 2023, 07:22:01 PM
Benzema occupied was a key component in Real Madrid. He was one of the most consistent and well respected player. For me I would agree that he was like the fulcrum that held the team in perfect balance and he has left a big shoe to be filled. For me anyone who would fill his shoes must be someone who plays similarly him and has a big bright smile. Julian and Kane are perfect; Julian would be more cooperative with the team and would provide good passes to Vini and Rodrygo, and he has good finishing abilities. Kane would be the most complete; he is very cooperative with the team, has good passing skills, and is a natural goal scorer. The downside is that he is 30 years old, and it's uncertain if he would adapt to the Spanish League.

Kane would fit in so well to Madrid. He is a like for like replacement for Benzema. A perfect replacement, if not better.
Kane knows how to create chances with the ball and off the ball. His off the ball movement is so good.
To me, Kane's age doesn't matter. He looks like a player than will be at top level for at least four more years.

If not for the age difference, I would have wanted Madrid to pursue Kane and leave Mbappe. Kane would play the center forward role better than Mbappe. Mbappe would excel better from the wing but Vinicius has that covered.
Kane is a complete striker that can score goals and create goals too. Too bad Madrid wont be able to buy both Mbappe and Kane.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 04, 2023, 07:07:43 PM
The presence of MacAllister and Szoboszlai is expected to cover Liverpool's midfield deficiencies next season. As a result they have ended up together with several players such as Chamberlain, Keita, Fermino and Carvalho playing in the same position. As you said fit also looks like they still need two or three more players to start next season, if all goes well for Liverpool I think they can finish in the Champions League Zone next season.

Klopp's major problem from last season was creativity from the midfield and he really wants to change that. I feel their midfield is okay right now but they need an additional player for quality squad depth.
Liverpool will be a contender for the league next season. They will continue on the form they ended with last season. The players and coach are very motivated right now so they will be ready next season. Liverpool will most likely not go without a trophy next season.
I'm looking forward to seeing MacAllister for Liverpool. I really enjoyed him at Brighton and he was superb in the world cup. I love intelligent midfielders and MacAllister is not only intelligent, but he's also a worker, the perfect player for Klopp's system.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 03, 2023, 10:27:59 PM
Haven't heard any rumours about Mbappe moving to Liverpool, not even theoretically likely.

Why not possible, I think anything is possible as long as Liverpool agree to the value PSG are asking for Mbappe.
The problem is Liverpool, of course if they want to sign Mbappe then Liverpool will have to spend a lot of money from their pocket so that PSG wants to let him go. Mbappe is in demand by many clubs, but I also don't believe Liverpool will really seal a deal with PSG over Mbappe.

I haven't seen or heard this news from any reliable football transfer source.
I also believe its practically impossible. Not because Liverpool don't have the money, which is going to be a lot but Liverpool are not in the champions league. A player like Mbappe cannot go to a team that is not playing the champions league, even if it just for one season.
I see no reason for Mbappe to agree to join Liverpool, no reason whatsoever. If Madrid can't sign him this summer, it wouldn't hurt to stay at PSG for one more season and go to Madrid next season. Liverpool can't offer him what Madrid would offer him. Aside the fact that Liverpool is in a better league than PSG, there's nothing Liverpool can offer Mbappe that PSG can't.
1272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 03, 2023, 10:15:43 PM
In my opinion, you only feel remorseful when you lose the bet.
It's normal to feel bad when you lose. Even if you gambled with a small amount, you will not be happy you lost it because you were not playing to lose but to win.
I don't think it's an alarming thing. You may begin to think of what you could have done with the money. The feeling doesn't last though, except you gambled with an amount you cant afford to lose.

There are people who are greedy and is not satisfied with the amount of their winnings and wanted to have more.  They got remorseful because they don't bet higher amount and thinks if only they bet more they could have won more.

Is that greed?
Imagine you made a bet with $20 when you had about $100 dollar you could have used for that bet, and you won the bet. I'm sure you'll feel a type of way. A feeling like you should have staked higher since you had the money to gamble with. You can also feel that way if you lose a bet a part of you told you to stake low but you refused to listen and staked high.
These feelings should be common among gamblers, or maybe its just me.
1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 03, 2023, 08:42:08 PM
In your opinion, which team is the most worthy to compete with Manchester City? Arsenal or Manchester United?
Or maybe Liverpool who eyeing some top strikers like Victor Osimhen, can not imagine if Liverpool managed to sign him.

I believe Liverpool will be the biggest competition Manchester City will face for the league.
I don't see Manchester United as a team that will be comfortably among the top 4. They might be there but they will struggle to keep up.
I know its still too early to predict but I feel the top 4 will be Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle/Manchester United in that order
Liverpool really mean business and they are giving Klopp the backing he needs. If they succeed in signing Osimhen then they will be a fearful team. With the right service Osimhen can score a lot of goals and they already have Salah who is a very good goal scorer. With Osimhen and Salah Liverpool will have two players that guarantee 25 league goals each a season.
1274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 03, 2023, 08:32:57 PM
You are basically right about this that Mbappe becomes cheaper as a free agent under normal circumstances, but nothing is normal when it is about Mbappe. He now wants the money that he would have earned from playing for PSG next season to be put on top of whatever he receives for a transfer from PSG to another club this season. Either the sheikhs are willing to pay him some form of compensation or the new club has to put the money on top. In poker you call that Mbappe move "ALL-IN". he isn't making a step back, he wants it all and I hope that even he has to realize at some point that enough is enough but my expectation is that he will get whatever he wants.

In all of this I think the people that have something to lose is PSG.
If they sell him this summer, then they lose their best player, if they keep him for one more season then they lose their best player, but worst, for free.
Both Madrid and Mbappe can wait one more season. I think it will actually benefit Madrid and Mbappe more if they wait one more season.
PSG is not a club that does good football business or else they wouldn't have been losing much from this. They should have sold Mbappe when Madrid were wiling to pay 150 million or thereabout for him. With money like that you can get a perfect left winger and center forward. It's still not to late for PSG to make good business out of this situation. If Mbappe is staying for one more season, that gives them enough time to scout for replacements. If he's going to leave this summer, they can get money to get a replacement this summer.

Whatever the case, this deal needs to be concluded on time, so both Madrid and PSG will know how they can prepare for the season ahead.
1275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 03, 2023, 08:20:01 PM
Mount's signing is a good move for Manchester United, who are clearly trying to strengthen their team. But I am concerned that they are putting too much emphasis on their attack and not enough on their defense. While the middle of the field has improved, it still can't carry the squad by itself. There don't appear to be any promising defensive players on the horizon, at least not from what I've been able to learn. A purported agreement with Bayern appears to have taken Kim, who had been on their radar, off the table as well. I mean, if you don't have a solid defense, your offense won't matter. Don't you think it's reasonable to suggest that Manchester United should expand their defensive-oriented scouting efforts?

With the way Manchester United has been in the transfer window, I don't think they are going to a different Manchester United from the one we say last season.
Their defense is not that great. Martinez and Varane are the only good central defenders in that team and Varane is not young anymore. If either or both defenders get injured then United is in trouble.
Manchester United's full back positions too are not also secured. They need players in those positions too.
The attack is not also convincing. Right now Rashford is the only good attacker in that team. There is still a lot of work to do in the transfer window if they actually want to compete next season.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 02, 2023, 10:56:33 PM
I think the effects of the Saudi teams are not that bad as being portrayed by the media; this is something that happens in every transfer window. At some point it was PSG buying every best gems in Europe to France, at some point it was Real Madrid splashing the cash to get Galaticos, Even Manchester City had their fair share; splashing lots of money on players in the market transfer, and Barcelona is not left out too. Now it is time to the Saudi league to flex the wealth of their football team, get the necessary viewers and fame too.

I don't think its the same thing.
I don't think any of all these clubs you mentioned have signed more than five star players in a single season. They sign like three to four star players and a few other above average players or young players with potential.
Secondly, these clubs don't splash ridiculous amount of money as transfer fees and even more ridiculous amounts as salaries.

Its normal for the Saudis to spend that much money if they really want to invest in their league because they have the money. It would be nice to see more mainstream leagues. It doesn't have to be just Europe. I don't see this as a competition for European football. For someone who likes d=football, I see it as a way to have more leagues I can watch and enjoy.
The problem is I don't think the Saudi league would ever be a rival to the European league. It would be just another league.
1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 02, 2023, 10:38:56 PM
Its not guarantee with Luis Henrique winning Champion League tittle with PSG although success with Barcelona because main problem in PSG its not head coach but players mentality. Difficult for all manager how to make one teams unity exactly in PSG have many star player and some of them more priority playing as individual than teams.

A big part of PSG's problem is head coach. They have never had a good coach in my opinion. If they had a manager like Pep, even if they might not have won the champions league, they would have been playing better. PSG struggle even against the least team in the league. With the kind of squad they have they should be able to win games comfortably, or at least play convincingly.

The time PSG had a good coach in Thomas Tuchel they got to the final of the champions league.
Another part of PSG's problem is their management. I don't think they understand how to run a football club. The coaches should be given more freedom to choose players he wants the club to buy and players that he doesn't need or want in his squad.
1278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 02, 2023, 10:12:29 PM
It seems that many are still expecting Mbappe, but we have to be realistic that Mbappe will not go to Real Madrid, especially in the current transfer season.

You cant be certain. The transfer window is still long. A lot can happen in a month.
If Mbappe doesn't want to sign a new deal, PSG can be forced to sell him and use the money to strengthen their squad. Madrid will not buy Mbappe for the amount PSG are asking for.
Personally, I feel if Mbappe wants to go then PSG should let him leave to Madrid, but if they can convince him to stay for one more season, they should. That would give them enough time to look for replacements that can step in and replace Mbappe.
PSG do not want to sell Mbappe because they do not want to lose all three of their top players. Messi has left, Neymar would most likely leave, so losing Mbappe would be a huge blow for them.
1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 02, 2023, 09:43:31 PM
I don't think Bayern Munich would be willing to pay 100+ million euros to sign him while there are cheaper and good alternatives such as Vlahovic.

I used to have very high hopes for Vlahovic, but right now I don't think he is an A-list striker. I watched him a couple times at Juventus. He's good, but I doubt he will get to the level of Kane, Aguero, Benzema when we talk about strikers. Hes still young and can improve though so I wish he can improve.
Also the inconsistent performance of Juventus might be part of the reason for his slowed growth.

But with so many rumors about Davies who has always been close to Madrid, it's also not wrong if they are looking for options again at this time because it would be much better than when in the end the transfer is nearing closure and one of his players leaves, this will be very troublesome for them.
Even though Davies is currently a player from Bayern, but seeing from his current condition, Davies is waiting for Madrid's offer, this could be a bad signal for them, so the arrival of Raphael Guerreiro, who is contracted until 2026, could also be a good option at this time.
Davies' current contract is still long but of course this is also a vulnerable condition for Bayern especially it seems that Mendy is also having problems at Madrid so they will look for other options to secure their fullback area.

Davis will be a very perfect addition to Madrid. To me he will be Madrid's best signing of the summer if the deal works.
I doubt it will happen anyway. Bayern are not known to let go of their important players like that. Even if things may not be going smoothly for the player, Bayern would fins a way to keep him.
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 02, 2023, 09:30:20 PM
Yeah, its tough to win the title no matter how strong a club is. What's important is - consistency and right now City are best at it. We need to improve our game a lot to match City's consistency and hopefully will make a great progress in this season.

Manchester City are just too good. Pep is miles ahead of every other coach in the league and what's worst is, he has the deep pockets to back him up. People say any manager will do what Pep is doing at Manchester City, but that's not true.
If not for Man City Klopp would have won at least three league titles with Liverpool. Arsenal would have won the league last season if not for Pep. Pep has hacked the league for real.
Liverpool couldn't win the league with over 90 points.

If Arsenal really want to win the league they have to be better than Man City. Don't drop points. It can be possible to finish the season with just one or two losses and a few draws, that's the amount of consistency that's needed if you want to take that league away from City.
