1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SGMINER - Scrypt HD6870 configuration - HELP on: February 26, 2014, 04:02:19 PM
At least,

Is there anyone that can tell my how to specify to sgminer in my .conf how to select only my second gpu (the hd6870), because for now it seems that is uses only my gpu 0 (the nvidia), which make my computer crashes !

Thx for your help
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / SGMINER - Scrypt HD6870 configuration - HELP on: February 25, 2014, 04:57:46 PM
Hi everybody,

I'm in need of a generous soul to help me with the configuration of my HD 6870 for mining scryptcoins.
My setup is pretty simple, I have 2 gpu, 1 nvidia quadro 600 and 1 HD 6870.
I don't want to use my nvidia as long as my screen is connected to it and it's pretty useless.

I need explicit and detailed information how to configure only the HD6870, and how configure sgminer to only select this one.

I've tried lunching sgminer with -n parameters, to help me with the classification of my gpu, but it closes as soon as it opens.

So, I need help here.

First, which programs, update or drivers to I have to install on my computer ?
(catalyst Drivers, APP-SDK and sgminer are install on my computers.) Is there something missing ?

And after, how do I configure my bat file or my config file or my shortcut with parameters to make it work... that's where i'm pretty lost in all the geeks explanations...

Thanks for your help.

Hey Doc !
Are you following the arrival of new dual miners ! Scrypt and SHA-256 chips ?

Maybe it'S time to work on adding a Scrypt coin to the bitminter Pool and Client.

Would be nice !

What do you guys think ?

Are the Ice furys working on bitminter ?

With the Bitminter pool all hardware works. They're not supported in Bitminter client though. I believe they appear as a USB HID device rather than a serial (COM) port, so it would take some work to add support for these. Maybe if I get the time, but don't hold your breath for that.

Ok thx Doc !

Can anyone confirm this is safe? The user has very little activity here.

Trying to get an answer for this again. If anyone knows I'd really appreciate it.

The 32 version didn't work for me and the 64 keep sending error message...

But will it be without any windows opening ?

that window is unsightly and i wish you could minimize it to tray. there are methods to hide it entirely but if you do that, then you can't do things like turning it off and running it again on another pool.

Anyone knows a way to minimize it to tray?

put Start /B cudaminer.exe blah blah blah

in your batch file

Does't seem to do anything more .... ?!

Hi all,

Does anyone know how I could configure cudaminer as a windows service, so each time I restart my computer, it just starts by itself without any command prompt hanging in my tool bar ?

I tried what this guy does here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6o1AvZ06zc but it seems to start well, but after 5 secs my nvidia card or cudaminer application seem to be shut off...

Can anyone help ? I would like to make it run by itself in the background without any window appearance ...

Thx

Make a shortcut of your preferred cudaminer .bat file and copy it into your startup folder
("C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup").

Anything in that folder will start at each startup.

Thx.

But will it be without any windows opening ?
