How are you supposed to warn people about potential scams if your post gets moderated?

Exactly. Deleting posts can be perceived as deception - got something to hide eh? If the option is left as is... can that be perceived as fostering/encouraging that who have something to hide?
1262  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFGMiner + RasPi/Raspian + Block Erupters freezing randomly on: December 04, 2013, 07:27:49 PM
I'm running BFGMiner on a RasPi+Raspian with 6 Block Erupters and on average once a day the whole system freezes.  When I try to access the window manager the screen stays black.  Is anyone else experiencing this or knows a solution?  I know it's not my network because I have a script that handles that, which works fine.

Thanks in advance!

I had a helleva time trying to get BFGMiner to work properly on my RasPi. Have you tried MinePeon?
1263  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buy BTC Instantly with Credit Cards! on: December 04, 2013, 07:12:54 PM
The site is well designed and everything seems legit.. doesnt seem like a lot of activity yet.  I sent over 5 coins and sent them back.  There's some weird stuff like the as seen on tv ads which I dont think is true.  Why would they lie and tarnish their reputation though?  In this business you should be transparent and squeaky clean legit because its bitcoins and no one wants to be a victim of another Sheep Marketplace type setup.

I would proceed with caution but its a nicely done site.  Their video capture for credit card deposits is both cool and alarming as its a great way to get your CC number and name on your ID.

Would LOVE for this to be a 100% legit site, but would take more research/investigating.  Another member said they were based in some other country and NOT florida.

Holy smokes! Heck anything's possible when it comes to BTC. My first two transactions went smoothly, no issues. According to the site, they've only been operating for about a month. We'll probably see more traffic soon.
1264  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buy BTC Instantly with Credit Cards! on: December 04, 2013, 07:09:35 PM
Their website claims to have been featured on  "Forbes, CNBC, New York Times and FOX News"

I can't find any info or articles online to support those claims

If your buying with no issue then  Smiley

I saw that too... I can't tell you whether or not that's true - I'm only offering my personal experience.
1265  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Butterfly Labs 60 GH/s miner *in hand* (asking 1.25 bitcoins) on: December 04, 2013, 07:03:31 PM
Its BTC2.1 from Butterfly shipped this week.

Do you have a real price?

Things just keep getting better and better (*end sarcasm*).

What is a realistic price these days for a Butterfly Labs 60 GH/s miner?

BFL miners are 50 GH/s ... account for that extra 10.
1266  Other / Off-topic / Re: 100 Days... I need to get off these forums. on: December 04, 2013, 06:21:47 PM
Let's try to bring this thread back to its intended purpose, shall we.

NO ONE SAID BEING ON THIS SITE IS A WASTE OF TIME! I guess it's all about perception because I totally didn't see that in the OP's inquiry. Who changed the tone of this thread anyway?!?

I spend too much time doing a lot of stuff...  but just because I do, doesn't mean I wasted my time - it was spent (not wasted) doing what I wanted to do at that particular time.

1267  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Butterfly Labs 60 GH/s miner *in hand* on: December 04, 2013, 05:46:29 PM
I was drooling until I saw your asking price. You can get them for a little over half your price on eBay and Amazon.

Thanks for pointing this out Lucky Cris. This sucks for me. Cry I've adjusted my asking price to reflect current online prices.

I feel your pain! I sold my miners at a huge loss and I wish I had them now Sad    But if I had it - I'd get it from you in a skinny minute. Unfortunately I can't do anything for the next couple of months.
1268  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Video Casino -- New .0001 BTC Credit sizes! [UPDATED 12/04/2013] on: December 04, 2013, 05:39:54 PM

its happen to many sites as you playing free you are winning too much and as you deposit and playing for real very soon you are out of money I am not blaming any one but mostly this happen

I think I get what you're saying... thing is, I didn't use the freebie coins, those were all mine.

It seems that bet size is highly correlated with win probability. We should all start plotting our hand outcomes and expose em all! lol

So for fun I basically tried free play for a couple of hours, and I've got to say they do reel you in by making you win so much on the Free Plays, as soon as you deposit real money, forget it, it's impossible to win... Went over 0.5 BTC at 1 Credit in Poker and got NOTHING, when I was free playing I was hitting crazy hands..

Be careful.

Glad I wasn't the only one... I played dice (almost all hands at 80% and above win probability) and the slots. With Dice, as long as I played 1 bet it seemed to be on par - betting 4, chances of hitting 80% was less than 50, and at 8, almost non existent. And the Slots took my coins so damn fast I didn't realize I was out! I think I spun a win higher than my 10 bet maybe twice out of spinning away .05

Deposits made into your bank account from exchanges - deposits made into exchanges from your bank account = this income needs to be taxed. If you invest more than 1 year, this capital income doesnt need to be taxed in some countries

Wait a minute... deposits INTO exchanges? Well, I'll b! But surely you can't be taxed for buying them from non exchange companies, right?

Read closer.  He's basically stating (Amount of bitcoin you've sold)-(amount of bitcoin you've bought)=amount of income/gain.

Here in Canada, any gains or losses from bitcoin trading is taxable like any other gains or losses from any other security.  Whether it's income or capital gains depends on how exactly you're going about trading.  Bulletin IT-479R explains the difference.

doh! I read right over that formula, lol. Makes sense now, thanks!
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How come there are no woman using Bitcoins? on: December 04, 2013, 02:34:16 PM
Girls are using it. Just because they don't shout for attention (like you do), doesn't mean they don't exist.

+1

You said it better than I could've.

Just pour all your money in bit coins and call it a loss when filing taxes. Or just don't pay taxes. That's what I've been doing for years. !!  Tongue

lol, too funny! I wondered if I could claim loss...lol

So if I understand correctly... there's potential to be taxed on "BTC income" or deposits made into your bank account from exchanges and such. Should this be a valid concern for those of us who cash out? If that's the case, are charitable donations deductible?
1280  Economy / Lending / Re: Need to borrow .02 for a week (COLLATERAL) on: December 04, 2013, 01:39:37 PM
Will be repaid in a week at max, possibly less

Call me gullible, or even generous... I'm game. Typically I don't lend - I buy and sell.

I'm jealous btw. I sold my miners the week before the price shot up, now I feel lost. Just for the hell of it, I solo mined LTC on my throw away PC for a couple of days, lol. Can't wait until I'm able to get another miner myself.
