Why did I not use this earlier? Discovered the ignore list: Such a great time saver. Isn't this the forum equivalent of putting your hands over your ears and going "LALALALALALALA!" ? If it goes to court, I hope you'll do this in the witness stand, too

farl4web, I am already working on that text, but have already gotten some bounties for other work. If you want to field this text, I will gladly yield the opportunity to you. The more people can get some return out of their work, the better I like it. Can you let me know if you intend to do it, then I will stop work on it.

In the last few days i'm seeing a lot of newcomers to this thread, more than in the past.
PR pays off after a while

I've been following Nxt for a little while, although it's hard to keep up with this thread! This is my first post. I've seen several questions and efforts at characterizing aspects of the blockchain. I've been doing some exploratory analysis and have several plots to share. I've posted what I've done so far here: http://brosephus.github.io/nxt-explore/I've learned a lot and hope this might be useful for others. I'm happy to look into anything that might be of interest to anyone. This is an excellent resource! Tweeted it and will highlight it in my summaries tonight. Who doesn't love graphs?

I am looking into my options of making my NXT Solaris client open-source and multi-platform. Since there are trade-offs, I would like to get an idea which operation systems you are most interested in, so I set up a vote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=430593.0Thanks for voting! The results are what I had expected. I've made a 1400 US$ investment and upgraded my development environment to Delphi XE5 and the compatible version of the commercial Developer Express components. The roadmap for NXT Solaris now looks like this: 1.) Move current version of my code to XE5 and release closed source 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Windows (only trivial changes). 2.) Refactor my code to a MVC architecture, so that I can create separate GUIs while using the same version of the business logic code. 3.) Create new GUIs for Windows and OS X using the same business logic, but based on the cross-platform Firemonkey libraries (technically possible targets are Windows, Android, OSX, iOS). The GUIs will not be as sexy and powerful as the closed-source Windows version, though (no Ribbon interface, no filtering, sorting, grouping in data grids, not so many icons etc..), but will still very much resemble what is in the closed-source client. 4.) Release open-source Windows version (32 and 64 bit) based on FireMonkey. 5.) Release open-source OSX version based on FireMonkey. => At this point you could decide if you want to use the open-source Windows and OSX version or the closed-source, slightly more sexy and powerfull Windows version. I will reevaluate if I do versions for Android and iOS at a later point, however I will keep this option in my mind when refactoring the code in step 2. The poll shows that 25% of all voters would use it, but it also depends on which alternatives are available at that point. I would also need to invest another 500 US$ to go mobile and I don't want to do this now. I will not target Linux, since I technically can't. Someone else might want to jump on this. I don't know the timeline for the roadmap, so don't ask. ;-) I'll take a week of from my day job next month to get a bit of this done. Can I just say that you are amazing. You got some pretty harsh criticism after a lot of hard work and instead of saying "f*ck you all, I'm off", you decide to look at the criticism and invest in a solution. That is cool on so many levels! Big respect and a thank you from me.

TEXT
It's 48 hours now. Still no general comments about spending the fund? Thank you for Indian/Hindi information, I didn't study this much. [/quote] My general comment is that it's good and that we need to get out of "discussion" mode and into "pledging" mode and make people get on with it. I'm not worried about any written material. People will make those in their time. I'm worried about things that require time and organisation, and things were a certain momentum is involved. Those need to be able to start ASAP, like the tournament and PR for the new client. In short, I approve and want organisers to step forward and put down a real claim for a budget.

One thing that still isn't totally clear is how you will deal with the code. Will this be an open source project?
We will let the people who purchased decide whether is should be open source or not. In fact, an option may be that we can put the source code in escrow. So if the people decide it should be open source, it will be? Yes. It is the purchasers decision. Nxt purchasers decided for closed source, despite the source being listed as open source. That's your view, and debating it has proven futile, so I won't. Thanks for answering my questions.

You need to get rid of this advertising stuff. Domains are cheap nowadays. Have a look at nxtion.com, nxtcrypto.org, mynxt.org, ... there are still people that are not using adblock? adblockplus.org I get the feeling this is besides the point. Hardly encourages confidence in a rising currency when it's own sites rely on ad revenue. It's a site made by a Nxt owner who wants to help out. I feel it's a bit weird to impose standards for site as fellow stakeholders. Sure, we can have opinions, but it's not like there is a central bureaucracy endorsing sites here

We can open up this option to the investors when payment is tendered.
And two minutes later you actually call them investors. Which is it? Investors in the item they are purchasing. Not investors in the company. Let me try again. A company invests in advertising because they feel that it would improve their business. They are not investing in an advertising company who sells advertising to this company. I'm just trying to get as complete a picture as I can. So: you are, at this moment, asking for reservations on a commodity that hasn't been developed yet, will take the money on delivery and will be working with closed books. One thing that still isn't totally clear is how you will deal with the code. Will this be an open source project?

I see 15000 Nxt for a tournament, that's around $1200,- prize money.
Can we make that available?
And what could you do with that? I would imagine one tournament? Or two small ones? No idea about the range of prizes we would be talking about.
I think it's crucial to keep moving and at least make a commitment so people can keep going.
How long do you think it would take to organise once we are committed?
15K at the current price is OK, it's actually not a lot in the eSports scene, eSports is rapidly growing and most of these big players have 6 figure salaries from gaming and sponsorship and streaming money. I also got a few pledges so I think 25K NXT for a showmatch is ok. A showmatch isn't a tournament, it's a match between 2 selected (very popular) players. I think a best of 9 or 11 is best so it lasts for hours. A tournament would cost a lot more NXT to organize, host and hold due to the casters needing compensation too. The main goal here is to spread the knowledge of NXT as a cryptocurrency in the gaming community, since who else is more dedicated to these things than gamers who view gaming as a sport already? they are the most receptive to digital money being real money. My man is already talking to players and casters, trying to see who is interested and trying to find a line up of 2 players that attract wide audiences. I think we might have a tiny showmatch on the side that will be for 5K NXT so that we get a few more hours. Hopefuly this'll land us on the frontpage of the biggest Starcraft sites and forums for several days. If this proves a succes I suggest we aim for League of Legends which got HUGE numbers of viewers and then try to enter the FPS scene (CoD/BF4). Perhaps even Kim Dotcom, which is one of he best CoD players in the world would find it very interesting. He is afterall the sort of guy who would absolutely LOVE NXT. Just to cut through things and give everyone something to comment on: - How much total cost? - What would be the timeframe to organise it once funds would be pledged? - What additional help would you need? - If funds would not be forthcoming now, is it also possible to say we will do this in March/April? << That one is basically just a question if there are consequences to the viability of the plan if we say we do it later to coincide with a more completer view of Nxt. I'm feeling hurried. How do other people feel about this?

If you plan to work this as a company, your investors have a legal right to seeing the accounts, especially if such amounts of money are involved.
I'm looking forward to your annual report to the State of Delaware and to the investors.
I think you confuse people buying a crypto currency that we create with investors of the company. People who buy the crypto currency are customers of the software we create. Let me give you analogy. If we sold mining equipment. A customer may consider the acquisition of said mining equipment as an investment, however the mining equipment manufacturer is just selling a product. The customer does not have any right to the books of the manufacturer. We can open up this option to the investors when payment is tendered.
And two minutes later you actually call them investors. Which is it?

As I stated in the other thread: culture confusion.
Actually, you can have closed books in the US. In Europe that is actually quite a no-no.
You are within your rights.
I just wanted to clear up that you are actually going to take 1000000 Nxt, at current value around $ 72000 and not provide any feedback, except "take my word it will go to development" to your "customers".
Also, you are treating the cryptos as a commodity then, not as a currency.

Reposting this in the non-self-moderated thread: Just to clear this up: You are raising 1000000 Nxt, which is at this moment worth 90 BTC which is around $ 72500.95 Will you be giving reports what the money is spent on, like any company does? I remind you: So it is clear, CodeAudit is a for-profit corporation incorporated in the state of Delaware.
FrictionlessCoin will be the brand for products that will create all kinds of crypto-currency software for sale.
One of these products may be a Nxt clone that we may offer for sale to the public.
Carlos Perez is a shareholder in CodeAudit Corp. "FrictionlessCoin" in this forum relates to the actions of the corporation. "solracx" in this forum relates to the actions of the person.
So it is even clearer to you, ZenithCoin is owned and by Carlos Perez. FrictionlessCoin created ZenithCoin.
FrictionlessCoin also is the lead developer for iXcoin and makes its software contributions for free for iXcoin.
FrictionlessCoin has other projects in the pipeline regarding crypto-currencies.
In short, if FrictionlessCoin decides that selling a Nxt clone has financial potential, then it is clearly within the laws of the United States of America and the State of Delaware to provide such software.
