Also, I'm in the process of making my own case (link). Hope to have it finished tomorrow. Today was burned having to make a couple of trips to the hardware store and Starbucks  Roll Eyes
Eventually plan to use the second Corsair AX1200i from my GPU rig to power the Gridseed miners. May just cut the modular PCIe cables (since I have extras) and use barrel plug adaptors to a 5 way splitter for Scrypt only mining. Might be able to push 120 miners on it Grin 96 is more realistic though.

Talking about splitters,

will this be a good splitter ?  :

@mellomike

Sorry if you are not the person for blackcoinminer. But wanted to find out how long does it take to show other coins being mined?

Wanted to give this pool a shot to spread the hash rate. Been mining for over 1/2 an hour and nothing showing up.

I double checked the stratum and port and wallet. Everything is correct. Also I get a ton of rejects. Around 80-85% accepted so far. Is this normal?

just tried it, I'm not getting rejects. I do know it takes about an hour to show up the coins being mined

Tomorrow (sunday) we will launch our distribution at 18:00 UTC+1

rrright ! Good luck with the id's on sunday!
don't fall for that id stuff folks !!! Possible SCAM !
@EFL : think of something else fast !

The majority says that Blackcoin is a longterm investment. So in 12 months....what about $2.00 or $20? I know its speculation, but I'm kind of new and trying to figure out how much to invest. I've seen so many say, "I've converted all my BTC to BC."

No one can give you an answer to this that will be true, cause in the end, no ones really knows..

It's more a bet in believing that it will be worth alot in the future. But who knows? 1bc = 1bc or 2$ or more or less.

I believe it will be worth the wait and invest in it, I'm ready to take the bet. If I loose the bet, well too bad, that's Crypto, you can win, you can lose,
if someone had a crystal ball that could tell 100% sure what future will be then he was already rich

all I know is I am hearing two different things on this thread.

1. there is no blackcoin security flaw

2. that blackcoins were stolen

Blackcoins stolen from an exchange doesn't mean there is a flaw in the protocol. It's the exchange being poorly coded.

Or do you think Bitcoins being stolen from mtgox means Bitcoin has a security flaw? You do seem to have trouble understanding simple concepts.  Wink

Just to follow up with a couple more details and confirmations on this.

1. If you unlock the 'new' way, via the <settings> dropdown, you're wallet is up for grabs. No password is needed to send out your coins.
2. If you unlock it old-school, via console, you will unlock for staking. It is a 'mintonly' command, fortunately. Tahnk god someone was thinking.
3. If you do #2, then initiate a send but cancel out before entering password, your wallet 'lock' symbol will close, but your staking light remains 'green' and mouse-hover will indicate you are staking.
4. If you do #1, then go back to the console and enter the command 'walletlock', same result as #3. (as someone else rightly pointed out).
5. Only remaining question is, for #3 and #4, is the wallet in fact still staking as indicated? I am waiting to find out. So far apparently not. But we shall see.

Conclusion: if you just do #1 and walk away for the day, you might have a very nasty surprise waiting for you when you get home. Even if no one has physical access to your computer, it can occur through a variety of exploits that someone gains remote access to your system. Then, my friend, you are most certainly fucked. Finally, if you don't already, consider using a password mgr. Among other things it will allow you to enter your long-and-random-as-fuck password without entering keystrokes. And be sure to keep a backup of your password database!

Yes indeed, I'm using KeePass together with chromeipass to store all my passwords.

hey guys just want to update i switched to bfgminer and now im running sweet! just have one thats spewing out hw errors.
im over 6MH/s actual nonce (3rd hashrate) in bfgminer. thats with 18 running at 850mhz.

if anyone is having trouble with cgminer i suggest installing these st virtualcomport drivers windows 8 64bit (im using them on windows 7). they seem to work nicely.

http://microco.sm/out/xJs

bfg miner looks nice, you dont need any driver replacement right? just the driver you have to install that comes with the GS's ?

Better to use BFG instread of CPUminer if I'm only runing a small amount of gridseeds?

can someone tell me what it means to have my coins orphaned, still finding my feet, thanks for the imput

hmm dont know exactly how to explain but in short it's something like someone was mining the same block as you but he was faster than you at confirming so he got them.

someone might explain much better than me  Cheesy
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 29, 2014, 03:43:54 AM
why can't the wallet have an option to only be unlocked for staking but not allow for any transactions to be SENT? then ppl could leave their wallets unlocked to stake without worry of being stolen.
Good point we will try ask rar4 for that feature.Something like transaction password block

That is already in there. I have mine unlocked and can't send transactions without entering my pass.

Check again people. I just did, and not for the first time. No password is required to send from an unlocked wallet. And yes, I'm using the latest release (windows client). I brought this up weeks ago in a cautionary post, before Soepkip had his coins swiped, and then subsequently. For the future health of the coin and anyone owning it, let's tie up this loose end.

Just tried, and I can also send coins from my unlocked wallet without the need of entering a pass

we should do a table with frequency vs hashrate vs wattage

to find the sweet spot of efficiency and maximum with 5V fan

this is a good question, because would it be worth it to spend an extra 20w on like 100KH/s ?

it could get counter productive to use more power as you will pay more in KW than you get back in moolah from the added boost
