If so then no - there's no effect on alts, but a funny occurrence may happen if BCC accelerates in price similar to ETC. But since everyone's got this knowledge its probably a booster for alts rather than a downer

$1,000 does sound like a very unreasonable target - considering the start of the market it may be achievable but that's so far 'overblown' it'd be hard to get it there even if natural dynamics didn't make it happen first

I love scams so go for anything attached to cryptopia thats got legit devs and in flying way under the radar. Small projects start small but could perhaps get larger. Who knows?

I wouldn't use the term 'instant' but if you bought at a sensible price and decided to hold it for some years you'd likely find it will increase in value - even from this year onwards

If someone hates it perhaps they just don't understand how it works, doubt its validity as an asset or dislike its volatility - I personally couldn't see how anyone could outright 'hate it' unless they've lost money investing in it
