Simple replace in code not helping?
Join #p2pool on freenode IRC.

After 2.3.4 if main pool is not supporting long pooling cgminer is ignoring "work restart" message form backup pool.
It is intended or bugged?
If intended - it is possible to enable this via option?

when do you all think they'll be accepting pre orders?
There is still NOTHING on BF website. IMO it is all FAKE.

The pool has been exceedingly lucky since the 14th June, with a mean round length of 0.6975. This means you'll get paid much more than PPS.

However, this is a reflection of the variance inherent in bitcoin mining. If you recorded your fortnightly average, you'd find it much less than PPS, since the average p2Pool roundlength for the last two weeks was 1.204.

The average round length since the start of p2Pool is about 1.11. So, since the start of p2Pool, average miner earnings are less than PPS.
Yes, because we have "dry days" just before. As someone said: in long run it is all the same.
P2pool have few BIG advantages over other pools, thats why I support it, not only for income.
In fact, I pay more for electric power than I make coins on my machine. But I like Bitcoin idea too much Smiley

Q: how exactly is calculated expected time to block when block found? Current pool hash rate or some average of time that block was mined?
I`m still not sure that our luck chart is good... If we founding blocks "in time" I`m gettin much more than from any pps pool... For me luck is much higher than 90% Smiley
What's your average daily earnings and average hashrate for the current difficulty period? If you can tell me that, I'll tell you whether or not you're getting more or less than expected.
It is my desktop, so avg is about 140MH/s.
I`m taking 0.025 per block or more (even 0.05) from P2pool.
I was mining on 2 pps pools and get about 0.07-0.075 BTC/day.
For me P2pool is best Smiley
What are your average daily earnings for the current diff period?
Last 2 days:
16-06:
0.04103741 BTC
0.03053837 BTC
0.03054256 BTC
0.03571901 BTC
0.03559559 BTC
Total: 0,17343294
15-06:
0.03603529 BTC
0.03502059 BTC
0.03518694 BTC
0.03513995 BTC
0.04118142 BTC
Total: 0,18256419
ANY PPS pool give me that Cheesy

BTW fixed BTCLauncher, uploaded to skydrive. There was bug in saving run_p2pool.exe patch to options.

I would like to ask for a x64 build again tho
Look @ my skidrive Smiley

Only for bitcoin! Litecoin module not complied/included.

My node also updated.

(though is there any pool that charges 10%?)

DeepBit PPS charges 10% and BTCGuild charges 8%. They're the highest I know of.
An they taking transaction fees to, it is 0.2-0.8 btc now each block.
Well, the PPS pools also take all the risk on the variance/luck too. Dunno about DeepBit, but last I heard, BTCGuild took a big loss during the last cycle, so they lost money paying out all the shares, so kinda gotta take that into account too.

Thats why I get more form p2pool than any pps Smiley Bigger cake to cut Smiley

My node below is successfully running the latest x64
Man, you have over 10% local DOA, something is messed in miner config... I have about 1-2%

Open you node to the public, get a few random users, and we'll see how your local DOA rate fares... Roll Eyes
My node IS open Smiley

Looks like 1RDarke have over 10%...

With some really big spikes.
Maybe try to loadbalance to another p2pool node? What ping you have to current node?

Is there any hope that the new code changes will get the long term luck above 90%?  I really like the idea of p2pool, but getting effectively 90% PPS is disappointing. I don't think the pay cut is worth it until the large pools actually start disrupting the network and it seems like claims of Deepbit's evil intentions and such are purely FUD (at least at this point in time).
I hope so. Actually informing nodes about new block on network should reduce orphaned blocks (we have them too many...). I set my miner to switch pool/solo and see many times that "new block detected on network before longpool" message. After this update I never see it Smiley
About DDOS on pools: why ppl are not switching to p2pool? I cant imagine that any1 will try kill all nodes at once, this is only true safe pool.
Only hope that we will go up to 100% Smiley
But I didn't think that orphaned blocks affected the luck calculation.  I don't see how this will help our luck.
I think that "secret" is in DOAs. When there is no information about new block nodes are working on already locked block. When node found a share or block it lands in DOA because it can not be accepted on network.

1279  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: excessive CPU usage in 0.6.2 ? on: June 15, 2012, 09:56:24 PM
Keep in mind these days there is a bit of work to do when you get a new block, looking up and reindexing balances when it has 1000 dicespam transactions in it.
But we NOT have block each 10-15 sec, right? And usage is spiking about every 10-15 sec, not 10mins like blocks...
1280  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Btcguild down EMC down too what's happening? on: June 15, 2012, 09:47:26 PM
Just run own P2pool node and be safe from DDOS... Smiley
