12621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: formatting small numbers on: July 28, 2016, 07:46:27 AM
let me propose formatting small number.

see

0.08063888
0.080,638,88

which one is better to read?

currently no standard to display small numbers.

I know we use mBTC, uBTC

but not good for newbies.

let me propose using commas at each 3 digits under decimal point.

How does that make any difference ? I understand adding commas in your currency digits helps us separate hundreds from the thousands/lakhs either for reading it out or quick understanding but won't make any sense in case of bitcoins.0.08963522 could simply be called as 0.089 instead of reading the whole number. The approximate value of the remaining digits would be less than 0.01 anyway.

I agree with that, as in your example this is a 0.24 cents difference between 0.08963522 and say rounding it off to 0.09. Why would that break your bank, if you lost 0.24 cents on a single transaction, if you rounded it off. I do this with fiat too, because I try to avoid hoarding loads of coins in my purse or stored in a bottle.

Just round it off, it is less confusing. ^smile^
12622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will regulation make bitcoin slower? on: July 28, 2016, 06:40:58 AM
Any direct transfer between Bitcoin addresses not going through centralized services will not be influenced at all. If these services make use of off-chain solutions, then they could most probably implement something like this. Any on-chain solution will make no difference at all at the speed at which these tx's could be done. ^smile^
12623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some links for beginners and advanced Bitcoiners on: July 28, 2016, 06:20:26 AM
You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble and just linked the whole Micheal D' Angelo Bitcoin network series on Youtube to this thread, his stuff is golden and a must watch, if you want to know anything about Bitcoin. It has some content for both newbie and advance users. ^smile^
12624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockstream Buys Bitcoin Wallet to Boost Sidechains Development on: July 28, 2016, 06:09:54 AM
If one of the developers on the Blockstream's team farts, it's on all the forums the next day. Everyone has been going on for months about scaling and block sizes and now that these people are trying to engineer a solution, everyone is up in their ass about it. ^???^

It is one conspiracy after the other, and it is not contributing to anything positive, and if you look at the post history of these people, many seem to be big block supporters.
12625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin worst decision you will ever make? on: July 28, 2016, 06:01:59 AM
Buying Bitcoin was my best decision, but not buying more when the price was super low, will have to be my worst decision by far. I had the opportunity and the funds to buy a whole lot of bitcoins last year and I would have tripled my investment, but I chickened out. ^hmmmm^ That might not happen again soon, so I am out of luck.
12626  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fed debt is over $19,400,000,000,000 on: July 22, 2016, 07:06:44 AM
The governments of the world are dumping generations of debt on our children and even their children. The fiat system is bound to collapse and when this happens, everyone will suffer. We are surviving on borrowed time and not even Bitcoin could get us out of this mess.

The thing they normally use to sort things like this out, is Global War. ^hmmmmmm^
12627  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why need to use a Mixer? on: July 22, 2016, 06:43:02 AM
You would not know that the bitcoins you have received, were gained from some illegal actions, so you use this service to tumble it a bit, and to clean it for your use. In the end, you will need to justify your actions and if it was not for criminal intent, you would be fine.

I mix my coins, because I want stronger anonymity for my savings. Why would you want everyone to simply follow your money to your primary cold storage and make that the target for hackers? See mixers as a extra level of protection. ^smile^
12628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today the bitcoin price is $666.66 all hail the mighty bitcoinsatan on: July 22, 2016, 06:34:28 AM
Is the group on the beach, satan worshipers or sun worshipers? You should never mix religion with money, because money wins out every time. This world has gone stir crazy with people killing each other over religion, or should I rather say money/oil.

There is a special place for these people when they die, and I hope it will be a donkeys ass. ^smile^
12629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using Bitcoin for those in need. on: July 22, 2016, 06:02:17 AM
OP, that must be a very old article, because Barclays has joined ranks with the E3 group of banks, and they are backing other Alt coins like ETH or some shit like that. These corporate entities do not care about poverty, they created it, with their fractional reserve banking and scrupulous lending practices. ^hmmmmm^
12630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin News Bot on Telegram on: July 22, 2016, 05:52:09 AM
One of these days we will have a bot wiping our ass, while we watch the latest Bitcoin news on our tablets. Good work OP, we need technology to make things less cluttered and to save us some time. You know what they saying, <Time is money > Can you configure the bot to filter and retrieve other news too, apart from Bitcoin related stuff? ^hmmmmm^
12631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From 1 Bitcoin to 100 Bitcoins - what would you do then? on: July 22, 2016, 05:46:21 AM
I will say <cashout> some of it and enjoy it. Money is like drugs too, the more you earn the more you want. You will take bigger risks and in the end you will lose all of it. Take some of the money and enjoy your success, because there are not a lot of people who can say, they own 100 bitcoins.

If you take 50 and hoard another 50 and the price per bitcoin goes up by 100%, you would have doubled the value and you can cash out again, so there is no need to risk it on dodgy Alt coins. ^smile^
12632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to block my wallet and prevent any withdrawal for a month? on: July 22, 2016, 05:30:27 AM
The most practical way, would be to create a wallet for someone you can trust and then during that creation process, you could ask them to type in the password or pass phrase if this is a paper wallet. You then tell them to keep that information stored in a safe place for a month. ^smile^

Why do you want to do that?
12633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Promote Newbie To Others Level.. on: July 21, 2016, 06:42:46 AM
how I can bought a account??

Before you consider this, do the math first. Take the cost at which you have to buy that account and then work out how long it will take you, just to make that money back from signature campaign income. You only start making a profit, once you paid back the amount you had to pay for the account.

These accounts are expensive and they have a risk factor, if someone scams you, so be cautious. Do not be greedy and run into this without doing the math. Remember signature income is not guaranteed, it is just a added bonus.
12634  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Minecraft: Use and earn bitcoin inside the game on: July 21, 2016, 06:34:46 AM
This should be under this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0 <Service announcements> if you ask me, but I am not a moderator.  ^smile^ My kids enjoy Minecraft a lot and this would be a added bonus. Would they need to change their play style to earn money with this?

I am not a Minecraft player, but I think it would be cool, if you could physically mine for Bitcoin on that server. Destroying something to get to the hidden bitcoins. ^smile^ Huh
12635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you feel safe with 1 in 60,000,000 chance of collision attack? on: July 21, 2016, 06:25:35 AM
I believe in reducing the risk, by spreading my coins over multiple addresses with much smaller amounts. It might increase the risk for having more addresses, but the loss will be significant lower, IF it did happen. Who will have lost more? A person with 1000 bitcoins in one address or a person with 10 bitcoins in 100 Bitcoin addresses? < I would much rather lose small amounts than losing everything in one collision >

But that is just my screwed up logic, and to others this might pose a higher risk. My strategy has worked for 5 years and I have not lost a single Satoshi due to collisions. ^smile^
12636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever paid more than $700/BTC for any amount of Bitcoin? on: July 21, 2016, 06:01:59 AM
I use Bitcoin for the practical eCommerce applications and the discounts and if I need to buy something worth say $200, I would buy that amount of bitcoin. So at today's price {$660/BTC} would give me 0,3026 BTC I then go out and buy the item at that price.

Some companies even give you discounts, if you pay with Bitcoin, so it is cheaper for me to use Bitcoin. The discounts + lower fees = Big savings.  Grin
12637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (Bitcoin goes mainstream!?) How can 'We' start Billion Dollar "Real-world"... on: July 21, 2016, 05:53:51 AM
You have to find that service or use that millions of people wants and then grow it aggressively. It has to be unique and it has to go viral, like the new Pokemon GO game. A lot of these companies also invested in aggressive marketing strategies to penetrate the market, and then things just went wild.

I find that tech development targeted towards social media grows much faster within the younger demographic and then spill onto other groups. The young leads the way, and the others follow. ^smile^
12638  Other / Meta / Re: HOW TO KNOW IF MY POST IS SPAM? on: July 21, 2016, 05:45:33 AM
You just need to post without having to calculate how many lines you type. Type as if you are having a discussion with other people, and make sure your content is constructive and on-topic. Typing in Upper case is called "screaming" so do not do that. Post in different sections on the forum and do not post 50 times a day, or you will definitely get banned.

There are no specific guidelines, but a good practice would be not to post more than 100 posts in a given month. If you signed on with a signature campaign, it should be much lower, because these members are under constant harassment from other non-members.

Stay within the rules of your campaign and you will be fine. ^hmmmmm^
12639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help a newbie out please on: July 21, 2016, 05:35:17 AM
There are a lot of charities that accepts Bitcoin as a payment option. Just to name a few, I would add this website, but you will first have to verify it on their site. Go to http://bitcoinforcharity.com/bitcoin-charity-list/ < I do not need the money > is not a sentence you hear a lot around here. ^smile^
12640  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Pokemon Go type of game that pays people bitcoins on: July 20, 2016, 06:14:29 AM
What would stop people from creating multiple addresses on multiple VPNs from taking all the BTC available at that location?

Some part of this might also have to be allievated by simply making it very onerous for small reward.  Imagine that in principle it's possible, but say that you're dealing with hundreds of satoshis per, well, that's a lot of work to cheat for fractions of a cent.

Well we have seen many people draining faucets with very sophisticated bots and these small rewards did not stop them. One bot can create havoc and it is virtually unstoppable, if it is done right. I ran a faucet for a while and these bots cleaned my pool very quickly.

You would need someone to check this 24/7 and to react very quickly, when something like this hits them. ^sad^
