I have done domain registering before with real person information, but I was thinking is it legal to register a domain with fake data ?
I'm asking this because some good domains are not registered, yet. So I want to register and then sell them without my personal data being saved.
Is that possible ?
Some TLDs give optional "whois privacy" that hides your data from public. You should use it instead of fake data. Email address MUST be real. I have registered the domains, and then for free the registrar offered whois protection, so I think that's fair enough  |

Yes you can. You can enter a fake name, address, number, but make sure to include a valid email because ICANN usually sends a confirmation email. Other than that the only way for someone to figure out if your address is real is to visit or send a letter to the address and see what happens. Ok, that's good to hear. Will give it a try, and after registration I'll do a hide whois, perhaps that will also help. |
