12681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on Mr.Robot Season 2 on: July 14, 2016, 06:43:48 AM
If you look closely, it seems as though there are a QR code also pasted on the side of the truck. It would be cool if that goes to a Bitcoin address and if that address was connected to some sort of charity. We would see some real media interest if everyone started to donate money to the address and it collected a few thousand dollars from the Bitcoin community.

The next trend you will see, could be people doing the same thing with buses and buildings and people looking for that in these episodes. ^heh^
12682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinTelegraph Skimming Bitcoin Forum for Content? on: July 14, 2016, 06:32:48 AM
We should be honored that we are being milked for news articles, it could be worst. They could have fabricated fake stories out of thin air, like all the other media outlets. You see this in many other websites too, they do not hide the fact that they source the "pulse" of the community, based on what is said here and on Reddit. ^smile^
12683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IRA (Retirement Acct)? on: July 14, 2016, 06:26:14 AM
The tax issue will not be completely avoided, because at some time you would have to pay your share. This could be from Capital Gain or simply with VAT. It is not likely that they will include Bitcoin in the near future, because there are too many possible loopholes for them to cover. The regulation is always a few years behind the technology. ^smile^

You know what they say about death and taxes, completely unavoidable. ^hmmmm^
12684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the longest you have gone without checking the price of Bitcoin online? on: July 14, 2016, 06:20:39 AM
Haha I remember there was a time when this was an addiction, I would check the price maybe 5-10 times an hour  Cheesy I don't day trade anymore, it's too stressful for me and I've never been very successful at it. Although I don't day trade, I still occasionally have open positions to buy or sell but I'm a lot more calm about it now. These days I'll check the price maybe 2 or 3 times a day  Smiley

Yey, I have been there before ole friend and I did the same, but I have walked away from that too. I now only check the price once per day and if I see high volatility situations, I climb back in until it calm down. I like to profit from the low and the highs and this leads to compulsive price checking behavior.

The Halving event pulled me back again, after a long rest. I was hoping for more volatility. ^smile^
12685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing on: July 14, 2016, 06:01:17 AM
I beg to differ with you on that. Both of these services are suffering from having to adhere to strict KYC and AML regulations. They will turn you over to the authorities so quickly, it will make your head spin. OP, I have not had trouble with the company in my signature and I have been using them for years now. ^smile^ < Bitmixer.io >

I agree. Xapo and Coinbase are one of the worst companies in the Bitcoin sphere. I would avoid them at all costs, even if you don't have the intention to mix your coins. As far as I know, Bitmixer.io is a non-scam business - at least there are no real reports and the service is operating for years now.

An alternative way to get rid of the government spying agencies is to buy / sell altcoins. Shapeshift.io might be a useful service in that regard. Of course, even better than using services of any company is doing p2p trades. While requiring more effort, this way you can get rid of any automatic logging and support the idea of decentralization as well.

KYC and AML is a disease. These measures are totally ineffective to fight crime, their only purpose is to spy on the average citizen to be able to extort more dues and taxes in future. Any Bitcoin company that implements these measure should be boycotted.

ya.ya.yo!

i don't know about xapo because i have never checked them out but i find coinbase a very useful service for "newbies". although there has been some complains about their services recently but i think they are still one of the simplest ways for a new user to start using bitcoin to buy/sell/hold bitcoin all in one place.

For a very long time Xapo was the default faucet payout system, until they decided to start to join the KYC and AML trend. This chased away a lot of people, because most people used these kind of services for the low fees and the multiple accounts for different faucets. So yes, Xapo is also not a Bitcoin friendly service, in regards to privacy.
12686  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save you Bitcoin for your (grand) child / children? on: July 14, 2016, 05:55:46 AM
I have created a paper wallet for each of my family members for this exact purpose. They know where it is stored and they will have access to it, when I am gone. They are also familiar with Bitcoin, and know how to sweep these paper wallets, when and if it is needed in the future.

I dump some coins into these wallets on a monthly basis, as and when I have spare cash to convert. ^smile^
12687  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening? on: July 13, 2016, 11:41:37 AM
Everyone was expecting a very high price increase during the block halving period. But nothing happened, the price left hanging at the same price range. What happened, are you expectin that it will maybe rise soon?

You are wrong, the majority of people was expecting a decrease of the bitcoin value the same day of the blockw reward halving. Now I think we will stay in this range for a couple of weeks maybe months.

exactly this! i was also expecting a significant dump to happen directly after the block halving. i am quite surprised there was no massive dump. so in that aspect i am very happy that the price is staying at current price levels.

People would only dump if the price increased to the moon. This did not happen, so a lot of people are still holding on to their Bitcoins. I would not even think of dumping, if the price was under $1000 per Bitcoin. Even then, I would only drop a few coins just to re-coop some of my initial fiat capital and not my whole hoard. ^hmmmmm^
12688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing on: July 13, 2016, 11:21:46 AM
Use xapo or coinbase to mix your coin
They can use too to mix coin, you will get receive address and when you send coin it will come from diffrent addres.

Or you can use exchanger too

I beg to differ with you on that. Both of these services are suffering from having to adhere to strict KYC and AML regulations. They will turn you over to the authorities so quickly, it will make your head spin. OP, I have not had trouble with the company in my signature and I have been using them for years now. ^smile^ < Bitmixer.io >
12689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most BTC you got on: July 13, 2016, 11:16:05 AM
I won some gambling raffle or something for 1.5 BTC a long time ago and I sold some items for 2 BTC directly to someone I met at a Meetup. I think at the time, 1 BTC was worth $400 or something. So yes it was not a very big amount, but once you put all the smaller amounts together, it grows very quickly. ^smile^
12690  Other / Off-topic / Re: How??? on: July 13, 2016, 11:12:13 AM
I think my first $1 or actually it was $5 was send to me from a friend to showcase Bitcoin's feature and ease of use. I then went out and got into mining and trading and faucets and HYIP's and Ponzi's and some gambling to get the rest. I had to test them all, oh did I leave out Cloudmining and gaming and sig campaigns? ^smile^
12691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PlayStore accepting Bitcoin? on: July 13, 2016, 11:08:43 AM
These companies would rather use something developed by their own in-house developers than something that are not within their control. They use the ApplePay and Android solution, because they can improve and apply changes on their schedule, and they do not have to wait for a whole Bitcoin community to reach consensus on small issues to resolve problems. It's just about control and Ease of use and manageability. ^hmmmm^
12692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton Pledges Support for Blockchain on: July 13, 2016, 11:04:35 AM
The blockchain technology you can expect from them, would be something that would track each and every transaction on this planet, as part of a complete surveillance solution. I have seen some suggestions that it could also be used to transmit secret encrypted messages, hidden between 1000's of other transactions. ^hmmmmm^
12693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Pokemon soon to merge on: July 13, 2016, 11:00:43 AM
Pokemon interaction will be very good for Bitcoin, if they can link the two together. I heard that they will have some sort of transmitted hidden somewhere and if you pass the location, it would award you a Pokemon character. I think it would be good if they link that to a monetary reward, that enables you to buy the figurine. ^smile^
12694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone ever stop gambling? but then gamble again? on: July 12, 2016, 09:51:40 AM
My answer is boredom, because I gambled for the fun and to pass time while I sat in air ports and sleepless nights in hotels. You work in a hostile area and spend most of your time in hotel rooms at night. I do not gamble when I am back home, so it's a time burner.

I am one of the lucky people who can step away, but others just gamble everything away and then end up flat broke.
12695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 64 more halvings to go for bitcoins on: July 12, 2016, 09:44:44 AM
I don't think we need to worry about what happens in 64 halvings time. We will all be dead Grin
I'm more concerned & interested about the immediate future.

Well, you should be worried, because most people leave some Bitcoins for their kids and they might leave it for their kids and so on and so on. The fact is, the Halving is only something that effects the miners rewards. Once these Halvings are done, we might hopefully see transactions increasing beyond the point where miners rewards have to be necessary and it would be replaced by tx fees. ^smile^
12696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EU seeks tighter control over cryptocurrency on: July 12, 2016, 09:38:52 AM
Guys, there is one thing you don't understand: The governments of this world are NOT here to bring us peace and to help us have a better life at all. They are here to implement their ideas, their plans. Plans that have been written for hundreds of years, and today can finally see their success. The governments are here to spy on us, to have every single move of us. Bitcoin is something that bothers them, because here we finally aren't in their eyes anymore. This is the reason they want to control the Bitcoin now too, NOT terrorism. Terrorism will be out there whatever we try. They NEED to have us under their control. Wake up guys, we are living a globalisation plan. And you can see this on the news happening day after day.

As a matter of fact, terrorism is just a good excuse for them to do what they doing. They are supposed to protect the citizens of their countries, and we expect that from them, because we pay taxes for them to do their job. The other side of the coin is, if your children gets killed in a Mall and you find out that it was funded by Bitcoin, you would turn against Bitcoin on a dime.

So let them do what they need to, to protect you and your family. The fine line between freedom and a police state, is not clearly defined. ^hmmmmm^
12697  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with bw.com ( cloud mining ) phone verification on: July 12, 2016, 09:25:13 AM
Just imagine what problems you are going to be faced with when you want to withdraw money from their site, if you cannot even manage to invest something with proper support. I would run as far away as possible from these types of ponzi schemes, if I were you. Just browse around on this forum and you will see several complaints and warnings about cloud mining sites going scam. ^hmmmm^
12698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can i cancel a deposit from blockchain in case of posibly fraud? on: July 12, 2016, 08:37:48 AM
If you used services like Xapo, and the transaction was still off-chain, you might just be able to reverse the transaction before it goes on-chain. < On to the Blockchain > The basic person to person transactions on the Blockchain between Bitcoin addresses directly are not reversible. ^smile^

Who would be making these decisions, on what transactions get reversed? The Blockchain is a chain of transactions, so how do you take out a single tx, without dropping the whole chain of transactions after that?
12699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Fucking Chinese on: July 12, 2016, 08:28:09 AM
That is why China now owns the Bitcoin.  Fucking Chinese.

Why so grim? You just need to learn to love them. They love raw dogs after all...

[Possibly disturbing image warning]
WTF!!!? This is fucking outrageous!  Is that really what I think it is?  Raw Dog?  I knew those fucking Chinese were crazy.

So? They need to feed a population of a Billion people and if you can chose to die from hunger or eat a RawDog, you would also go for the raw dog. Nice troll you got going here, I think this one will get a lot more attention than the others. Here we have some racism and all the controversial things in one thread, so it's bound to ruffle some feathers. ^smile^

Good pic ^smile^
12700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If u were Warren Buffet would u buy 51% of Bitcoins? on: July 11, 2016, 07:23:40 AM
If I was Warren Buffet, I would hire a team of developers to create my own <WarrenCoin> and I would tweet, "Buy a WarrenCoin today, to secure your future in Crypto Currencies" He has so many followers and admirers, he might even grow his market cap to be bigger than Bitcoin in no time. ^smile^

This would be his entry and investment into the Crypto currency scene. You have a reputable and well known name for the coin and no reason to be a scam coin. < He already has enough money, and a big reputation in the financial world >

Crypto currencies will be a toy for him to play with. ^smile^
