12701  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: are all severs displayed at the electrum software are safe and trusted? on: April 20, 2019, 10:40:14 AM
Snip
The problem is that when users see these messages in Electrum they don't consider them to be fake or malicious. That is because other software we use on our computers display messages and pop-ups informing us there is a new update available. But when it comes to our finances we should be much more cautious and not trust everything we see and read. Unfortunately people only start doing that after they have some bad experience.
12702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ??? on: April 20, 2019, 08:05:13 AM
However, if your problem is that you deposited coins to this tockha marketplace... And your account balance has not been correctly credited with those funds... Then the marketplace is either "broken"... Or it is a scam.
Either a scam or he registered on a fake tockha marketplace.

@OP
Those deepweb sites have spcial onion links. Did you check if you registered on the correct one?

Since you are in no way in control of the bitcoins and the private keys your only option remains contacting the admin of the site and explaining your problem to him. If there is no response or you don't get a satisfactory answer despite proving you sent the funds consider yourself scammed unfortunately.
12703  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Credit card purchase of Bitcoin in 2009/2010 on: April 20, 2019, 07:21:38 AM
There was a site called buybitcoin that accepted credit card payments back in 2010.
I managed to find an old thread about it here > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1765.0

Apparently there was another site with almost identical name: https://www.buybitcoins.com/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=987.0
The link now gives a Your Connection is not Private error.
12705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 19, 2019, 09:17:15 AM
Bale is better suited for the English Premier League. Pace, speed, strength and athleticism. But he has had a fair share of injuries as well and the price is too high. I think that at times he has been unfairly criticised by Real supporters and often booed out.
12706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country knows about cock fighting betting? on: April 19, 2019, 09:11:03 AM
Such practises are not legal in my country nor have I ever heard anyone making bets on cock fighting. We do have bullfighting though. But it is not the bullfighting we know from Spain or Mexico. In Eastern Europe bulls don't fight till the end, and they are not as aggressive as we see on TV. It is one bull against another bull and as soon as one turns his back and starts running or falls down the fight is over. The owners step in and they get separated.

What happens deep in the forests or in isolated rural ares is hard to know.

Nothing wrong with your first post but can I give you some advice. Click on Preview before posting and double check your post for mistakes. Everything is so pieced together and unappealing for the eye.

You end one sentence and start the next one without an empty space between the words:

no better place to do that than here.Based on my past experience
the following points.Here are some
learn more, the ability to learn from others
rank or experience of others,if they can do it

Separate the different paragraphs and thoughts and make people interested in reading what you have to say.

Enjoy your stay on the forum.
12708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know hackers use hidden advertisement to get access on your device ? on: April 19, 2019, 08:16:57 AM
Ad blockers are a good way to get rid of most of these ads but more importantly you need common sense to get rid of that ignorant voice inside your head that says "click on it, just try it, see what it is!".
Don't fall for things online that you wouldn't do in real life. Nobody is going to give you any money and make you rich and help you with your viruses either or help you enlarge your penis.
12709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ??? on: April 19, 2019, 08:04:19 AM
tockha sounds like one of those underground illegal onion marketplaces. I remember the name from a list I saw somewhere a long time ago. Sorry for your loss but I am pretty sure the site itself took your bitcoins. I wouldn't trust a site that promotes illegal services with my money.
12710  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving 24 Newbie/Jr. Members a Chance to Rank Up on: April 19, 2019, 07:59:01 AM
So i can apply by posting a link right? so ok:
Not quite like that. You also need to read the rules in the first post and apply if you comply with them.
For example: #3. Your posts had to be written before 31/01/2019. Any posts after this date will not be considered.
12711  Other / Meta / Re: Random merit giveaway threads. What do you think about them? on: April 18, 2019, 10:12:14 AM
I have such a thread that I opened back in December 2018, I think about a week before LoyceV created his thread. I don't like calling my thread a merit-giveaway thread. Although it is meant to give away merits to Newbies and Jr. Members, calling it a giveaway implies anyone there gets merits the easy way just be applying. It is not like that and I have turned down more members than I have merited due to users sending totally incomprehensible posts.
I also have many rules in place and check the entire posting history of the members that apply. Several users have even been reported and banned due to plagiarism during my checks. If users post mainly bounty and social media related posts - I don't merit them.

It is true that I have been awarded many merits in that thread and I am thankful for those, especially recently by suchmoon that allowed me to surpass the 1K merit limit. Thank you again for that!
I also take that very seriously and have adjusted the total allocation several times taking into account the received merits. Some users have merited me and posted that those merits should be used and distributed to low ranked members and that is what I intend to do. And I keep that number in my mind so whenever I merit other users outside of my thread (on a daily basis) I make sure to never go below the amount of merits meant for Newbies.

There was some talk a few months ago that these types of threads should be moved to the Off-topic board. I was against that idea because I think that new members frequent the H&B a bit more and I don't really like the Off-topic nor spend any time there anymore.

I even PMed theymos asking if my thread is OK where it is or if I should move it elsewhere. Screenshot of my PM is posted in the thread where he says, if I remember correctly, 'the thread is OK as it is because it is substantially different than other similar threads'. He was probably referring to the Rules I have there.

I am curious, did anyone predict last nights results correctly?  Grin
What a crazy first 10-11 minutes in the City - Tottenham match. I can't remember one like that this year.
12713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ??? on: April 18, 2019, 09:10:55 AM
ohhh naaa man it's a wallet on a market  Roll Eyes
In the case the bitcoins were kept at an exchange there are a few things that could have happened.

1. Someone got access to your password, logged in to the exchange and sent the bitcoins to himself. If you don't have 2FA enabled on the exchange all he needed was your password and email address you used to register on it.

2. The exchange itself is untrustworthy and took your funds, therefore it is essential to know which exchange it is and what is address to it?

3. The exchange got hacked and you lost the bitcoins due to the hack. If you had 2FA enabled this could be harder to carry out.
12714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best methods for an offsite backup? on: April 18, 2019, 08:58:21 AM
Furthermore, by placing it outdoors, not sure how good the tool would be in protecting the USB from moisture and heat, both of which could damage the USB.
For extra protection you can always wrap the box in aluminium foil or put it in an additional plastic container. Put rice all around the box to absorb moisture.
There should be many other ways to protect the content in the box.
12715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving 15 Newbie/Jr. Members a Chance to Rank Up on: April 18, 2019, 08:28:22 AM
<Snip>
Thanks Becky666, Yes, Legendary in the making!
And congratulations on your new rank, you are doing fine.

Don't feel helpless, you are not. You went from Newbie to Jr. Member and from Jr. Member to Member since the beginning of February. Aim even higher now and have fun!

24 Merits are still in the pool. Make sure to read the rules and terms in the first post.

12717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best methods for an offsite backup? on: April 17, 2019, 09:28:34 AM
It is not offsite but you can still consider the following.

Get two different brands of USB sticks. Put your files on both. Encrypt the USBs and password protect them. Put both, in so called Portable Security Boxes or other metal boxes that you can lock. Hide one at your property where it can't easily be found.

For the other one you can do one of the following.
If you have a dog bury the box under his dog house.
If you have a garden with bushes, roses etc. bury it deep under your bushes.
12718  Other / Off-topic / Re: Protecting your email is of great importance on: April 17, 2019, 09:01:24 AM
I know that protecting my email is of great importance but how do i manage my about 20 email addresses at least somehow comfortably
it's annoying to look for the note of my passwords each time, is there a safe and convenient way to manage my passwords?
You can use a password manager for that. With a password manager you have a master password that you need to remember. It unlocks the software that creates strong passwords for all the sites you visit. You don't need to remember any of the other passwords, just your master password, the software takes care of everything else.

Lastpass and KeePass have been suggested numerous times on the forum.
12719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: April 17, 2019, 08:42:44 AM
We saw an amazing Ajax performance last night, hats off to them! Juventus disappointed on all fronts. Defence and attack. They lost the ball way to easy and were lucky that Ajax tends to play one pass too many.
The problem is that Juventus lacks quality options in the midfield. None of their midfield options are word class nor would they be starters in other top clubs. You can not build a team with the likes of Rugani, Bonnuci, Khedira, Matuidi and play Dybala out of position. Paulo has suffered immensely since Ronaldo's arrival and the worst thing is President Agnelli's comment after the game who said that Juventus will try to win the CL again next season with Allegri on the bench! This team with a coach who can't get the best out of his players is not ready for that.
