12721  Other / Beginners & Help / Can Bitcoin wallets goes down ? on: July 26, 2015, 08:35:48 AM
I want to know something important , I'am really struggling with this Bitcoin Core because each time I close it and re-open it , it tells me that the data has been corrupted on the database and I need to do the reindexing another time which sucks and it really takes a lot of time (UP to two days sometimes).

So my question is can Bitcoin wallets goes down ? I mean Armory & Electrum & Multibit mostly , I know they are open source but do they need server connection or something ? I mean if there servers goes down are we going to be able to them or our BTC will be lost forever ? (Unless we still can run them to export private keys , not sure how it works) same goes for Bitcoin Core it can go down or it can't ? Shocked just want to know if they rely on a server or something that can be hacked .

Can you add:

"In Satoshi we trust"

 Cheesy ?

As I said on the OP , It was a banner and there was no changes on the text at all and I asked a friend to change it to wallpaper long time ago however without PSD file you can't change the text , at least not that easy Shocked

12724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallpaper - In Cryptography we trust on: July 26, 2015, 06:31:41 AM
It's my eyes or the logo and the text is not in center Huh

It's good wallpaper, simple, pretty neat. But really the logo and text is not in center Cheesy

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be. He's using it as his computer desktop wallpaper so if he had it centred then his apps/shortcuts might go over the logo if he had a lot of them. Just a thought as to why it isn't centered any way.

As you said , it's not supposed to be Grin It looks fine just like that . but I see the logo on the center personally Shocked and text on the right on the logo and that's logical since the icosn on the desktop will be on the left unless you have shitload of icons of course .

@Everyone else , you are welcome Smiley
12725  Other / Meta / Re: Proposition for marketplace section on: July 25, 2015, 08:36:53 PM
Some people sometimes get negative trust because they are taking a loan without Collateral and just because he didn't read a sticky thread or someone because he is selling something he is not supposed to (there is no rules on the section sticked so.. yeah) .

Moderators and administrators don't close threads for likely scams , people should use their brains . and I personally don't like your suggestion about posting only once a month kinda abused and it's nonsense this will simply increase alt accounts and make people post more on Marketplace to evade this rule .

If it was UP to me really , I wouldn't allow Newbies I guess to post on Marketplace that's all . and we really need a sticked thread on the Marketplace to let people know what's allowed to sell and what's not .

- Back to what you said first , If we don't allow people to post on Marketplace because they have negative trust then we shouldn't allow people give negative trust unless they made transaction with that user .

12728  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Best Exchange ? on: July 25, 2015, 04:38:51 PM
I would vote also for BTC-e or and bitcoinlocal, if you use cash/fiat currencies and to get bitcoin.
If you want altcoins to bitcoin then there are many others

It's mostly for both , since I found a way to earn HYPEr from playing CS:GO , sounds good .
I checked Allcoin.com but seems like it's dead basically no one is trading there I guess , I found Bittrex and I will see how it goes; ty

Poloniex ( long trustable exchanger , chatbox , improved chart and interface , giveway tab, many mores )
Bittrex ( long trustable exchanger, simple interface , easy to manage )
Those exchanger I used until now. (Before those exchanger, I used mintpal  Cool )

I asked about Bittrex seems good but not sure how I'am here for about one year and I never heard about Poloniex before . not even once Shocked most names are Bitstamp & BTC-E  Grin I will give Bittrex a shoot as I said above . ty
12729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Coinbase CEO: Bitcoin to surpass the dollar as reserve currency within 15 years on: July 25, 2015, 04:18:57 PM
The CEO of the world's largest bitcoin wallet provider believes that bitcoin could replace the US dollar as the global reserve currency by 2030.

Brian Armstrong, the co-founder and CEO of Coinbase, tweeted on 24 July that he thought "bitcoin could surpass the dollar as reserve currency within 10-15 years". Armstrong also revealed that Coinbase had a "rough plan" to make this happen.

Armstrong's comments come after reports that France's biggest bank, BNP Paribas, is looking at ways to incorporate bitcoin into its currency funds.

BNP Paribas has already been doing "beta testing" with cryptocurrency, a source at the bank told IBTimes UK, and an announcement is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

One of the biggest barriers to bitcoin being used as a store of value has been its volatility, however Armstrong believes bitcoin will overcome this issue as adoption and trust grows.

He also tweeted : "Many will find this crazy, but I think bitcoin could surpass the dollar as reserve currency within 10-15 years."

I'am not sure about you guys but I really don't think that's gonna happen that soon . your thoughts ? Grin

12730  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info and coinbase.com - are the most used web wallets ? on: July 25, 2015, 04:13:50 PM
Hi all,

Please i want to know if Blockchain.info and coinbase.com - are the most used web wallets ?

thank you .

Yes they are , mostly Blockchain.info because Coinbase is basically an exchange more then a wallet .
But .. IT's not recommended to use them at all because It's online and you have no control on your private keys , If one of those websites gets hacked, your bitcoin are screwed . you may wanna use something like Electrum , Multibit or Bitcoin Core .
12731  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: First BTCJam loan request. Don't know what to think on: July 25, 2015, 01:06:03 PM
My creditscore is D. I have verified everything except my bank account/credit card and my PayPal account, because the one I'm currently using is just two months old...

Oh well you didn't mention all those on the OP . you have to verify all those people won't trust you otherwise , at least Credit & Paypal account mate otherwise no one is going to loan you anything . IF it's a small amount you could try here on "Lending" section (but make sure you iwll give a  valid collateral otherwise you will get negative trust) .
12732  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Best Exchange ? on: July 25, 2015, 12:47:37 PM
Gracias Muhammed Grin
for BTC-E depositing methods are the same as withrawal methods ? also does BNP PARIBAS support this International wire transfer because I never heard of it , I'am only familliar with Credit cards , Paypal & that's it Shocked
ty for both links , I will check them out hopefully they are good , It's funny to see poor countries on Africa opened to Bitcoin more then rich countries .
12733  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: First BTCJam loan request. Don't know what to think on: July 25, 2015, 12:44:50 PM
What is your rating ? A ? B ? C ? Verifying all exept the Bank account should give a good rating AFAIK .something like B+ , that's decent and you will getyour loan for sure however if you are looking for huge amounts you will most likely won't get anything unless you loaned before and gave back your old loans , that increase  trust

12736  Economy / Services / Re: How many people would be interested in getting paid for sign ups on: July 25, 2015, 10:42:06 AM
I would if it's not a scam website or for adults also withraw should be instant because we see a lot of websites that wastes our time where there is a minimum of withraw then we should complte tasks to get more money or invite friends etc ...
12737  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 25, 2015, 10:40:07 AM

I do not see anything in my payment address.

It's made after one week (since you enrolled) same hour too .
You will get on your Bit-x.com account and you should receive an SMS when a deposit is made to that adress unless you disabled that option . also check your stats once again , if the posts was reset (back to 0)  it means that you got paid otherwise means not yet
12738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin in our wallet when we die on: July 25, 2015, 09:37:27 AM
