12722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin CEO on: November 05, 2015, 02:45:24 PM
Why do news websites write about a Bitcoin CEO?

Are they just stupid, or are they doing it on purpose to irritate people?

Sources
Bitcoin CEO Spent Embezzled Funds on Prostitutes
Bitcoin's CEO in Jail Over Fraud Charges
Bitcoin CEO Found Dead in Suspected Suicide
Bitcoin CEO's arrest leaves trail of unanswered questions
etc

I think both and there are even more reasons: to draw attention to their articles, to look like they know something we don't or even with the intention to be the one who invented the term "Bitcoin CEO". )

Coinkite introduces a new API feature allowing to send bitcoin payments to 1,000 addresses simultaneously and trace payments.

I'm going to use the Coinkite wallet and I'm wondering what are people here think about it. They say you shouldn't pay any fee for withdrawing from there. Is it true?
12724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York Times Story today! Online now, In print in tomorrow's (Nov 5) paper. on: November 05, 2015, 12:30:14 PM
I see the usual stabbing at Bitcoin :

" Mr. Lee of BTCC said he was not seeing much of those sorts of transactions. But he said he had seen signs that Chinese investors were using Bitcoin to move money into an international investment scheme, MMM Global, which claims to have been created by a man who did prison time in Russia after a previous Ponzi scheme collapsed.

Bitcoin also continues to be used for illegal purposes. After the Silk Road online drug bazaar was taken down, imitators quickly popped up to take its place.

Bitcoin has also become the currency of choice for online ransom payments because Bitcoin addresses can be created without providing any personal information. The Cyber Threat Alliance released a report last week estimating that hackers had collected $325 million from CryptoWall, a virus that can freeze a computer’s files until an electronic ransom payment is made."

They have to include these highlighted words in any article to offset the good things being talked and also to hype up the article. I will not get too exited by this, they just trying to sell news papers and all the negative things are a attention grabber.  Roll Eyes

That is true. However the article is not 100% negative. Take this for example:

"Nonetheless, many banks and financial firms continued to study the technology behind the scenes and have recently been expressing their interest — and announcing new investments — in the technology underlying Bitcoin, which is being heralded as a new way to conduct a broad array of financial transactions."

People get used to nagative news about Bitcion, IMO they even developed some kind of tolerance to such news. But when they see something positive is written in a respected newspaper this may have a big impact on their minds.
12725  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin investing on: November 05, 2015, 10:41:35 AM
so, what id like to do is invest bitcoins to a stock or mutual fund account, but am not sure the best way to go about it. any tips/advice?

If you want to invest in Bitcoins the best time to do it IMO will be today after the USMS will hold the final auction for 44,341 bitcoin seized from Silk Road. The price of BTC will drop to the mark from which it only will be rising in the future.
12726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: November 05, 2015, 10:11:52 AM
Always remember this:

There is no safe way to gamble unless you find an exploit in a casino.

This short and sweet statement holds enormous amount of truth inside Grin

I agree partly, you can win a lot of money if you find an exploit in a casino, but even then you can't name it a safe method because you might be killed or seriously injured in case you are exposed.
12727  Economy / Economics / Re: What you will do if bitcoin price drops to 50$ and you have lots of bitcoin on: November 05, 2015, 10:03:25 AM
and do you think that will happen in 2015 ?

I don't think that the price of Bitcoin may drop to $50 in 2015, but many people would be happy if it will. They will buy as many Bitcoins as they can at $50 because we all know that $500 by the summer 2016 is inevitable.

If Gambling was not introduced then many people have to do the hard work for earning money.

Haha that's very funny indeed!  Smiley I hope nobody will take seriously the words above though. Gambling is rather the way to lose all your money OR you can gamble for fun if you have some spare coins, but never try to earn money with gambling.
12730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which game you like most to play gambling on Bitcoin ?? on: November 04, 2015, 06:13:27 PM
I prefer Dice gambling. It's simple, it's fun, no strategies, all depends on pure luck. I also like to chat with people on dice gambling sites. You know people are talking differently when gambling and sometimes they are saying very interesting stuff.

did you read this because you hope it is just a bubble?
you sold everything yesterday and hope that the price goes down to buy again?

please be honest.

No I didn't sell a satoshi. And I'm not going to start selling even it goes over $500 again (now its $458 btw). Why would I? I don't have so much Bitcoins that selling them even at $1k would make a big difference in my life. I just like to have some Bitcoins thats all, I'm not going to sell them. )

IMO it is appropriate to put insects on the cover of a book only if the book is somehow biology-oriented. The cover looks very unappealing to me and I would never buy such a book.

I can understand if they made this cover because they were paid by Bitmain though.  Smiley
12733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hello $2500 on: November 04, 2015, 03:43:20 PM
Judging from localbitcoins volume (real volume, not back and forth hypertrading), we will soon hit a $2500 mark
http://coin.dance/charts

I don't think so. In 5 or 6 years maybe but definitely not now.

As we can see at PREEV the price went down from $500 to $475 and then raised a little to $483. The best case scenario IMO: the price will stabilize at around $500.
12734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of bitcoin on: November 04, 2015, 03:29:25 PM
What is Bitcoin and what will it become?
To believers, it’s the future of money, privacy and payments, the end of greedy banks and the fall of government fiat currencies.
To critics, it’s an elaborate scam, the currency of cyber villains, a threat to sovereign states.
To others, it’s already nothing, practically dead on arrival.

In which side are you?

I'm on the believers side obviously. I don't even want to say about Bitcoin that "it’s the future of money" because the word "money" is so dirty that the Bitcoin might be smudged if put them close to one another. Bitcoin is much much more than a "new money" IMO.

"BTC VENDERE ORA!!

"BTC SELL NOW !! BEFORE THE BUBBLE EXPLODE !!
In the last 10-15 days we are witnessing a surge of bitcoin been observed so far, for many of us professionals in the field of deepweb, this bodes well for quick profits and prospects rosy future collections. For many sellers and holders of the main cryptocurrency I've heard lately phrases like: "" just wait to see up my gain !! ""
"" I sell my bitcoins in most of the real value, however, because the 'growth index indicates positive sign! ""
"" I sell my BTC but I follow the index upward, so if I sell is 100 to 110 !! ""
All such genes of mathematics and computer science, studied tell the story . I know that I have too partisan and perhaps not objective in writing this article in the first place because I am a lover of history, but it seems only right to adjust this imbalance and this collective hangover of numbers that seems to envelop the lorsignori computer. I tell you study story because often those who study the numbers have short memories indeed very short .....
Do you remember what happened even two years ago Huh ie in 2013 ..
The virtual currency BTC after a run nonstop for months, in a few hours without anyone noticing it, even the lorsignori infor-mate-matic lost more than 50% .... well It !! lost more than 50% with all due respect to those who predicted an Upward continuous in time, the bubble burst and who lost his were the small and very small holders Bitcoins as it is with most of us in here .... IDC (rileggetevi this Article "the collapse of bitcoin" http://www.ilpost.it/2013/04/14/il-crollo-di-bitcoin/ )
also will tell you more, I'm buying for Chinese operators, but I remain Italian and I still have a sense of home (no respect for the rule) but my respect for this ancient Italian peninsula and some of its inhabitants this YES !! So I want to give you a preview of this news, almost secret ... the rise in Bitcoins is due to the mass transfer of cash money to black gained by the Chinese in Europe to china and asia, or to make you short, most of the Chinese owners of restaurants factories, laundries etc ... in europe has literally bags of cash with which to buy bitcoins Chinese operators (do not think that will take them from you, the Chinese working among them) that they are buying like crazy bitcoins for resale to their countrymen, once this is over, (very few days I assure you) and most Chinese have moved to BTC, much of the black was in the form of cash, here at this point they are ready to turn BTC again, they turn them into YUAN, the Chinese currency, thanks always to Chinese operators. The Chinese government is aware of this, and I suspect that even working through its expert operators facilitating this influx of capital, which will be clear once the sale of BTC purchased in bulk by the Chinese (all on the same days) there will be a collapse of the BTC.
my dispassionate advice !! Sell now that you are in Time !!!!
SELL BTC (also something less) AND BUY YUAN (The Chinese currency that will have a huge upside) ...
So dear my engineers over the numbers serves conosscenza history and geopolitics, Economic planet ...
a hug

12736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hello $500! on: November 04, 2015, 02:57:04 PM
I think it will be a good thing if BTC will stabilize at around $500 for now. If the price will be over $1000 then afterwards the bubble might burst hard, I think maybe to $250 again (but not lower).

In short: I'm glad that it seems like the price is stabilizing at $500 +- $20

12738  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC Article: Bitcoin spikes 70% in a month; nobody knows why on: November 04, 2015, 07:23:38 AM
There are loads of speculation about China and the largest Ponzi scheme MMM pushing the price, but there are no proof of that. People are sucking this from their ass and selling it for facts. If this was massive adoption from a certain region, we would have seen something posted already.

I guess it is just a pump before the Silkroad coin auction.  Roll Eyes

I'm wondering to which extent will this affect the price, taking into account that USD Exchange Trade Volume is over $35M now and the volume of Bitcoins which will be auctioned is $19M.
12739  Economy / Economics / Re: I think we just started a bubble. on: November 03, 2015, 06:21:50 PM
As of now, today the price on Bitstamp has increased by almost $50 and over 13%. This is not a sustainable increase. I feel like what should have just been a small correction could have just started to spur a massive bubble, and I would be extremely wary of this. Do not get too hyped by this, guys, please. Do not start taking out loans against Bitcoin. I feel it's great the price is increasing, but this is a risky deal for all of us.

I think if the price goes to $500 it may stabilize there for year or more and then it will start rising slowly again. But if it goes way over $500, yes, it will be a bubble.
12740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: November 03, 2015, 06:10:51 PM

Mostly that's right, in this case he/she need a rehabilitation.

Well i see there are 2 type of gambler, who can earn profit from it, people like this can control their emotion while do a gamble(mostly i ever see poker gambler) and while got lose. And who can't control their emotion until they lose everything.

Unfortunately, there are too few people of the first kind. Most of us cannot control our emotions.

In fact, nobody controls their emotions, ones control more than others, that is it.

And gambling destroys lifes. Grin

I agree, we may think that we can controll our emotions, but we can't sometimes and we can't do a thing about it.

As for "gambling destroys lifes", yes it does, but on the other hand, everything destroys life, even life itself destroys life in the long run. )
