12741  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Protect your fridge: how Bitcoin hackers mine BTC today on: December 11, 2014, 09:32:51 PM
I don't know which one seems more out there smart items mining BTC or a casino caring about protecting me.
12742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help with AMD Radeon R5 M230 or AMD Radeon HD 8400 on: December 11, 2014, 01:32:31 AM
Connoisseurs, please help me to the setting *.bat or *.conf for AMD Radeon R5 M230 and AMD Radeon HD 8400
For use on Notebook G505, Windows 7 Ultimate x64
And what kind best to use the program for such GPU?

I would suggest you not to mine anything with it, as 1) GPU mining isn't as profitable as it was and 2) Mining with a laptop could easily overheat it.

Well, thank you for having responded!

He is correct about GPU for most being a loss.  With a laptop pushing it hard 24x7 adds wear it was not intended for.  Can you do it.... yes.... but most will agree it should not be done including me.

I would suggest looking into asics and let it run.   Make sure to do ROI math as it's different for everyone.  But my personal favorites right now are sp20 and s4.
12743  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Can we still mine from home? on: December 11, 2014, 01:19:04 AM

4) Lastly, resale. Believe it or not, people will still buy unprofitable miners. You may well recoup $100 selling your unit when you are done with it. Not everyone can do math.

This is where you can actually profit.  Not in the miner earnings, most calculators will give you 100 days+ or maybe never.

It's in the resale where you can be in the positive, if you sell it at the right time, for the right price.  Ebay, Amazon, or right here in this forum is where your loss can end up a gain.

yes I resell here on this forum.  the key is find someone with 'free' power

Sell him a used s-1 during the summer.
Sell him a used s-3 during the fall.
Sell him a used sp20 next year.

If You  are of higher power cost like  I am :
net 10 cents from oct to apr
then 16 cents from may to sept.

you find a low cost power buddy and sell off gear while you upgrade.
his benefit is discounted gear-------------------and with his 'free' power your low price to him makes him a winner.
you end up making profit  when you make that sale to him.

Will this always be true no. I think it will end with the sp20's for me.

I would agree so far I have found my old miners homes elsewhere.  It normally is a benefit to both parties.   One with free/super cheap electricity is able to give a second life to older gear.

You won't get rich selling the old gear, but it can be a nice little extra BTC.  I started the trend with GPU's, then asics.  It's a good system.   With 10 cent electricity year around I tend to keep my gear quite a while.

On a side note the best mining part I ever sold was surprisingly the old anker hub's during the block erupter days.  With them switching to a 9 + 1 charging model compared to 10 powered port solid metal one it sold at almost same price I bought it.  Almost no loss with using them.
12744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: secure loan? on: December 10, 2014, 10:13:40 PM
1 percent will not attract people.  Also saying 2 weeks to 6 months is a big timeline. One for 2 weeks is a short term loan.  If it goes for 6 months it is a long term loan.

Also I could be reading this wrong but are you saying it is between 1 dollar and 2000 dollars?  I did not understand amount.

The silence has me a bit concerned.

Not sure if I should order direct from Hasra or put in an order with lifeforcepools?   ...maybe it's best that I wait.

My suggestion is waiting till more then rendering.  There are very few companies I trust with pre-order without a working prototype shown off.

I am hoping to see more about this miner, but it appears to be just renderings right now.
12746  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 2 to Dec 15 diff thread. ( +0.15%) to (+0.92%) on: December 10, 2014, 05:32:12 PM
Wednesday  diff has gone plus

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty  (+0.65%)  with 6 days  to go

Still hoping for under 1% but I think not.

I would agree it was great seeing negative a few days.  If this continues then we are looking at 2-3 is my guess.

so you have miner of 330MH/s hashing power with 1500w power consumption that can earn you 2btc/month?
wake up dude...

well vpasic...i am awake, dude, the problem is mining bitcoins with a bitcoin miner is the geophysical equivalent of bringing a dust pan and brush to a natural disaster, i am trying show you guys that there is another more efficient way :-

1. that costs less money to purchase (about £3000)
2. quicker ROI (2.0 bitcoins per month)
3. can be run from home cool & quiet with a small footprint (just under 1500watt no extra cooling required)

What brand is the asic you have that is doing it?
12748  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 10, 2014, 03:59:15 AM
hello

i have just recieved 4 C1 's, i installed them and 3 of them work perfectly and are mining as i write this, but i have one machine that did not connect with 192.168.1.99 and so i proceeded to reset , once i reset it connected for seconds yet it had no values, and disconected again  Huh Huh can you please advise me  as soon as possible?Huh what are your recommendations on this???. Cry Cry Cry

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried using the image in 2nd post on card?  If you are not able to connect to it the image should set it back it default IP.

Assuming you looked at router to see if it is under different IP, and ping it to make sure it's not there that is what i would try.  Please correct me Dogie if you have better idea.

Yeah start with SD card image.

please, wich it is the 2nd post on card?Huh i cant find it.

http://goo.gl/BlhRdE is the image you can use win32diskimager to put it on the micro sd card.

Their website takes Paypal -- so if you use a real credit card (not a debit card) -- you are easily covered.  If it doesn't come in by the time they promise - then you get a refund.

Normally I wouldn't buy a pre-order -- but the seller seems quite legit in my correspondence with him and its not like I'm paying with Bitcoin or wiring money.   Smiley

You are covered to a point.   This is why I asked about proof not rendering.  I would LOVE to see some prototypes.

If you let it go on to long credit card and paypal can loose protection.   Look up terrahash sales.

Again I'm hoping they will show some videos or pics with December release date.

that request is being taken very seriously and I'm working on that and I'll be back to you via a post here...

Smiley

Any luck getting anything more then renderings?

Do they expect to meet December shipping?
12751  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Legendaries review party of Spondoolies-Tech's SP20 on: December 09, 2014, 11:25:40 PM
So much bitterness.

I think it's a nice idea.  I am unfortunately not legendary so I wont be in this party, but if each one of the 10 does a review would be interesting to see.

For the record I do have a SP-20 and so far has ran great.  I am a fan.
12752  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newb!!! (Omg another one!) on: December 09, 2014, 11:17:47 PM
Mining a few coins a month will take a good amount of gear.  If you look up bitcoin calculators you can see how much it will mine.  To be honest if it's hurting your marriage on 200 dollars every few months, going into mining is not going to help the cause with upfront cost.

My favorite two are S4 (with 400 off coupon) and SP20.   Those are two I would suggest you look into.  But make sure to do some ROI math.

Just as a example the 2 T - S4 will bring in around 0.02514101 a day at current difficulty.  If there was no change in difficulty is that is around .75 BTC per month. (Does not subtract electricity costs).  So you are talking around 3 S4's to get into the couple coins a month - 2.26 BTC without difficulty change and electricity not taken out.

So 2600 or so to bring that in.   Much higher then the 200 that is causing troubles.
12753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make a block explorer on: December 09, 2014, 06:42:27 PM
I was lucky enough  to hear blockchain.info at a conference.  They are HUGE.   It would be very hard to compete with them.

I was impressed with how much work they put into some projects.  Like their mobile app they checked places that took bitcoin to make sure up to date.  Just to do this is a lot of manpower.

If you have a new idea it might be able to break into market but redoing blockchain.info will be hard to compete with.
12754  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: From where to start part 3 on: December 09, 2014, 06:37:19 PM
Sadly cannot be done for that amount.   You for that price can get usb stick miners.   They are not very recent and will mine much less then 1 dollar.

You could save up and then look into bigger miners, or buy btc direct.
12755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riddle: Mine 2BTC in 30 days with only 1x single miner @ 40, 000, 000, 000 Diff on: December 09, 2014, 06:31:13 PM
I expect better from a mining machine that comes from future! Cheesy

No, I am mining with this right now.

I think riddle is it cannot be done.   I just don't know any miner that comes close to this.   Can you tell us answer of riddle?
12756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust feature on this forum? on: December 09, 2014, 02:34:36 AM
What's the best way to spot an alt account? Are most newbies alts? Can we make them traceable like get their IP addy or something? Even tumblr has that feature.

One good way is normally their knowledge.  With this site being so popular it is common for people to have a account here.  That is not always true some join here with a great deal of knowledge.

Also the older the account the better the chance of being original I would say.  Again not perfect with accounts able to be sold it's not perfect.

As far as IP us regular people are not able to get it.   Which is good and bad.  Good is you don't have your IP shared with miners on it.  Bad is makes it harder to detect multiple accounts.
12757  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Dragon 1Th/s Miner - New RPI Image - Urgent! on: December 09, 2014, 02:26:55 AM
Okay it turns out the ip for the miner is: 192.168.1.134
Although I can't seem to SSH Into it, or either go to the miner page :/
Do you think it might be a bad image?

Sorry been a while.  It's a good image shared it many times.   It should be old enough for ssh before lketc made it hard.

What do you mean cannot go to miner page?   If this does not work might try a more recent without screen, this one is old for 4 blade with screen.  But if your screen is not working might try another without screen.
12758  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining / Any proof? on: December 09, 2014, 02:24:22 AM
I am truly amazed how many people buy some sites.  I looked hard at like that ltcgear, I cannot see how people pay for it.  I wanted to believe with people saying they times it by certain amounts, getting free shares sometimes.   I just could not bring myself to pay without proof of equipment.

And I could be wrong a lot do seem to love ltcgear.  I could be missing something.
12759  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Dragon 1Th/s Miner - New RPI Image - Urgent! on: December 08, 2014, 04:54:56 PM
It's been a while since I have used it (i believe it is 192.168.1.179 but that could be wrong).  https://www.dropbox.com/s/yz02suc4j24ium4/dragonboot-4BLADE-ENG.7z?dl=0

It is 4 blade with screen dragon.
12760  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin is collapsing! Sell your ASICs NOW while you still can! on: December 08, 2014, 05:54:01 AM
I wish I had a crystal ball like others Smiley.

BTC will remain to have a a value as long as people use it.  Currently... they keep using it.   Yes it is cheaper then we want but it still has a value.
