1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's going on with RISE? on: September 20, 2017, 03:52:32 PM
It is still lower than it's ATH of $0.62 3 weeks ago so might go even higher the next few days.
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Red Pulse ICO (NEO/RPX) postponed. on: September 19, 2017, 09:10:02 PM
Just a reminder...though the ICO was postponed, the ICO entry deadline is tonight (US time) and Sunday morning China time.

...I guess no one read this...
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable altcoin to mine? on: September 19, 2017, 08:32:32 PM
I don't think mining altcoins is profitable,or maybe let me rephrase it it: I wasn't making profit in all the altcoins i mined. But you can consider monero for mining, I once tried it. Note that I might take you three months to mine $9. Good luck, I stopped.

Agreed.  That said, ETH difficulty level just shot up so we tried Monero.  The beauty of the 1080Ti is its versatility so we can switch it to mine other coins, especially new ones and hope those gain value over time.  It is fun to get lots of coins too!   LOL  Definitely for long term though and value may never come.  On the flip side, we can dream we are mining the next ETH or BTC Cheesy  LOL
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: RED PULSE ICO TO BEGIN ON OCTOBER 8 on: September 19, 2017, 08:13:46 PM
So you're trying to sell your spot on the whitelist without having any acceptance confirmation yet, is that correct?

NAILED IT!!!

Also, it is useless because no one can use another NEO wallet to send funds from (which is also the receiving wallet)...should the buyer also send you all the NEO to buy RPX with?Huh  Wink  LOL

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!
not so fast u should have read the the communique from red pulse before screaming scam.to answer ur second question there is the option to change ur wallet address before the ico date and the sale notice is an advance notice .i intern to sell after the corfirmation and not before so try getting the whole  picture before screaming ir head off

You mean this?

"Contributions received during the RPX sale will not be accepted if any information is missing, or if the NEO wallet address does not match what you submitted. Individuals that need to update their NEO wallet address can email rpx@red-pulse.com with their old NEO wallet address, new NEO wallet address, first name, last name, email address, country of citizenship, and passport scan. "

Your post sounds like you already have confirmation... Wink   You will change the info of your application w/o payment?  How will one know you are selling the right one?  You can send me the confirmation (if you get one) and still use it you can still use your wallet).

Too many loopholes and sink holes.  Smells fishing and scammy still. Tongue
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable altcoin to mine? on: September 19, 2017, 07:59:22 PM
I'd love to know as well.  I have a Geforce 1080 ti that I would love to start using, but I don't want to waste money doing it and am unsure of how to start somewhere.

Very versatile card.  We have a rig with 2 of those and can mine a lot of different coins (efficient too).  I think it is mining Monero right now.  My son is in-charge of it.
1288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable altcoin to mine? on: September 19, 2017, 07:30:36 PM
IS there a coin that is less known to masses and has a good chance of doing 50x or so?
Sure, which one and spotting it early enough is the $50 million question... Cheesy

For example, if you bought OKCash in April 2015....you would have made 50x on it a few days ago. Smiley

70% of mining pools are chinese!!!

what will happen? if china government decide to turn off mining farms?

Japan is building their mining factories...not sure why USA is not doing it.

All for the best.  Less drama...hate dealing with prima donnas.

Besides, most trust the Japanese more than Chinese anyway.  China's advantage is their population...now if India becomes more crypto involved... Wink
1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It looks like token/coin sale is still okay in China...just not an "ICO" :P on: September 19, 2017, 04:32:27 PM
Chinese citizens are not legally allowed to join the "sale".  I guess a British (or anyone not Chinese, American, or Singaporean) in China (or anywhere) can legally join.

guess so. there's nowhere else in the world with a direct ico ban for now.

even if i was foreign in china i wouldn't bother. accessing any type of market is about to get a whole lot harder.

Heard of VPN? Wink
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable altcoin to mine? on: September 19, 2017, 04:30:28 PM
Hey everyone, I'm looking to get into altcoin mining and was wondering what coin would be the most profitable. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions and reasonings

Depends on your rig.  Some are best to mine a certain coin.

All else being equal, things can change.  Each coin have their own parameter and depending on point in time, the degree of difficulty may increase.  The value of the coin also dictates profitability.  People who mine BTC a long time ago thought they are getting pennies worth a month (and they didn't care but those are like hundreds if not thousands of coins a month).  Look at the value now.
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It looks like token/coin sale is still okay in China...just not an "ICO" :P on: September 19, 2017, 03:58:02 PM
The sale is not open to citizens of the United States, Mainland China, or Singapore.

so it's not ok in china then.

hong kong is a completely separate jurisdiction but how long that lasts is anyone's guess.

So RPX token sale is on and what struck me about the email is that the word "ICO" is no longer there.  Below is a copy of the email.

===================================================

RPX Sale Date:
Sunday, October 8

Hello,

Red Pulse will be launching the RPX sale on Sunday, October 8 at 0900 EDT / 1300 GMT / 2100 HKT. The sale will be conducted in Hong Kong SAR and by RP Technologies (Hong Kong) Limited (#2255299). The sale is not open to citizens of the United States, Mainland China, or Singapore. Our KYC whitelist form is already closed, and we are not accepting any new submissions at this time.

As announced previously, we have added to our RPX sale smart contract a one hour window at the beginning of the sale that limits each contributor to a cap of USD 1,000, with only one transfer allowed per person. Multiple transfers, and transfers greater than USD 1,000 worth of NEO tokens will be refunded.

Following this one hour window, the RPX sale will continue with a higher USD 50,000 cap, as planned previously. In this period, participants will also be limited to one transfer. Note that a contributor may thus contribute once during the one hour window, and subsequently contribute a second time after this one hour period. The total max contribution for a single person is thus USD 51,000 worth of NEO tokens. Contributions received during the RPX sale will not be accepted if any information is missing, or if the NEO wallet address does not match what you submitted. Individuals that need to update their NEO wallet address can email rpx@red-pulse.com with their old NEO wallet address, new NEO wallet address, first name, last name, email address, country of citizenship, and passport scan.

Only KYC whitelist validated people may participate in the RPX sale. The KYC whitelist form is already closed. We are in the process of conducting KYC validation on the submitted forms, and will notify individuals within the next 2 weeks on whether their submission was accepted or rejected. We have hired a team of Hong Kong advisors from a "Big Four" accounting and advisory firm, as well as outside legal counsel, to advise us on our entire RPX sale process, and to ensure we are fully compliant with laws in Hong Kong SAR.

To participate in the RPX sale, individuals must use a new version of the NEO - GUI wallet developed by the official NEO Project team. The wallet will be released soon, and we will make another announcement when it is ready for download. Until then, you may keep your NEO tokens in any of the wallets listed at the neo.org/download website. However, to participate in the RPX sale, you must use the forthcoming new version of the NEO - GUI wallet. We will create a how-to video on how to transfer from your wallet to new NEO - GUI wallet and the RPX sale participation process in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued interest and support of Red Pulse and our RPX sale.

Best regards,
Jonathan Ha

RPX sale is on... October 8 Smiley  It will be held in Hong Kong

Funny how they avoided using the bad word "ICO" (it is nowhere to be seen now)  LOL

$1,000 maximum buy in the first hour, then
$50,000 maximum after.
Max total is $51,000 worth in NEO in 2 buys (can't have multiple).

Only those in the white list (application is closed) can join.  I hope I make it in.

Good luck!!!

1298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are your investment goals? Is there a right and wrong way? on: September 18, 2017, 01:37:04 PM
I read a post about NOOBs (I am one) doing things wrong and I start wondering.

How big a factor does your "morals" play when choosing a coin to invest on?

Is it wrong to just go after risky big (even just short term) returns?

For now, I see cryptocurrency as purely an investment opportunity.  My goal is to reap maximum returns in as short time as possible (not easy).  I am fully aware of the risks and I factor that in my choices/decisions.  I don't let my morals, belief, emotions, etc. influence my coin choice as long as it helps attain my goal.   That said, I won't cheat, steal, mislead, or step on anyone to do so.  I do both long term and short term investing.

Sitting on a coin (BTC for example) is indeed proven to be a safe hassle free long term investing technique but it is just not for me.  Though it produces excellent returns, I don't believe it is optimal.  In my (short) search I did worse but it is necessary for me to progress.  The "loss" is considered "tuition fee" Cheesy LOL

How about you?
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I’ve got a stupid question... on: September 17, 2017, 12:58:18 AM
Ok, I’m new to cryptocurrencies and “markets” in general. I’ve invested in a few different alt coins and have got what may be a really stupid question and hope someone could clear it up for me.

Say you’ve invested $500 in bitcoin at the latest rate, and purchased an altcoin at a price which is very appealing. What happens if (over time obviously) Bitcoin deflates massively but the altcoin value rockets? How could you get what is effectively a handsome profit to a fiat currency without losing?

Thank in advance!

Very unlikely to happen but actually that is a very ideal scenario.  Convert your coin to BTC, hold then cash once it rebounded.

The scary scenario is; your coin rose in value (so is BTC), you trade in BTC...then before you cash it, the BTC price suddenly drops (and you can't wait)
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is that PoS is not ponzi scheme on: September 17, 2017, 12:48:43 AM
It is just another coin with an advantage over POW coins.

Like any other it is speculation...and you hope it grows/increases over time.

The real advantage is that on top of that you get a proportionate return for your coins.  Same as POW/mining but your coin (in a way) mines for you (not that easy or direct but boils down to it).

Actually it is not speculation , the lower inflation rate is what drives prices per coin higher.
Observe Bitcoin , within a year or so of their halvings which decreased their new daily supply created,
BTC have seen massive growth in their price per coin.

Bitcoin make ~1,728 new coins per day until the next halving.
ZEIT now make less than 500 new coins per day, our price will go nowhere but up.
The speed of the price growth is only dependent on the growth of usage.

It is math, not speculation.  Wink

 Cool

Entering into CRYPTO CURRENCY world (for now)... IS speculation. Wink
