1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would these two wallets be equally hard to brute force attack? on: May 28, 2023, 04:37:31 AM
Good question.

Basically the 24 word seed is from a collection of words but the 24 words password can be basically any words even in a different language.

So as long as the 24 word pass phrase is random it’s more secure but if it’s like some text found in a book or movie then obviously the 24 word seed is more secure.
1282  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: May 28, 2023, 04:31:39 AM
Looks like they reached an agreement. They are extending the limit for another 2 years and some budget caps for 2 years. They also saved $50B somehow which is a joke since they are trillions in debt. This is proof that this debt will one day spiral out of control.

Bitcoin spiked on the news which is odd since we expected the opposite to happen. US would default and everybody would flock to Bitcoin as a hedge. But instead it rallied when the debt limit was raised.
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [Link] How to be eligible for potential ZkSync retrospective airdrop on: May 27, 2023, 07:23:26 PM
I found some NFT platform that supports the ZkSync Era its called Mintsquare. So if you want to test out the network you can go there and mint your own NFT or you can buy some NFTs. Generally its not going to be cheap buying all these NFTs but I think if you mint yours then you might get some extra credits if there is an airdrop.

Then there is the SyncSwap where you can just do some quick trades or be a liquidity provider. Currently there isnt much aside from the Orbiter bridge. The fees are cheaper on ETH so you are better off doing these bridges now rather than during high ETH fee days.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Which stocks to buy? on: May 27, 2023, 05:00:42 AM
Bank shares are not a good idea unless you are buying the too big to fail ones like JPM. All these regionals are a dead cat bounce and when they rally high enough many will simple sell because it’s too risky.

It’s risky because they got bad loans and low deposit rates. Most likely more will go under and the stockholders won’t get anything back. The depositors will be fine but bond and shareholders will get wiped. Hence why there is no point in buying regional stocks.
1285  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen to the bitcoin rate if the global economy collapses in 2023? on: May 27, 2023, 04:57:05 AM
It would fall and then it would rise. If there is a collapse then all risk markets will decline including Bitcoin. Then the fed would cut rates to 0% again to stimulate the economy and all of a sudden all assets will rallying including Bitcoin.

However employment is strong at the moment. So far this recession is taking a long time to start. Who knows when it will start or how severe it will be. For now most markets are ignoring the recession narrative.
1286  Economy / Economics / Re: Germany surprises everyone, the economy keeps growing on: May 26, 2023, 04:34:36 AM
I read that Germany is technically in a recession and I come here and read that it’s economy is doing well. And only later I realized that it’s an old post, not that old but shows how quickly events can change.

The german DAX actually hit a new ATH and while it’s in a recession. It’s a crazy world that we live in and shows you how useless fundamentals are at times like this. Kind of like when the US stock market went to new highs while they had record amount of people going on unemployment .
1287  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of artificial intelligence, chat GPT on the crypto market. on: May 26, 2023, 04:31:13 AM
I think in certain Wendys locations they are using AI to take your order when you are on drive thru. It’s amazing how fast this technology is being applied. And most likely the AI will have no issues taking most of the orders correctly.

So it’s good but you need to understand that they will be many job losses as a result. Basically you won’t need to pay any workers to take orders, just need workers to make the burgers, and that can be done by a robot also. The world is advancing fast due to AI.
1288  Economy / Economics / Re: Which stocks to buy? on: May 26, 2023, 04:28:35 AM
Most of the tech stocks are doing well like Nvidia, Apple, Facebook, etc. Everything else is not doing too well. Many are trading at 52 week lows. Even many of the large cap stocks like Intel or 3M.

You are better off waiting to be honest. Wait for a recession and then go buy some stocks cheap. If it never happens then don’t buy any stocks just buy bonds. You can get 5% now and it’s risk free pretty much.
1289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is crypto trading so similar yet so different from Forex trading? on: May 26, 2023, 04:26:07 AM
Forex is less transparent. Even the volume is not real. The volume you see on any forex chart is not actual volume since it’s impossible to report that. It’s basically the amount of ticks and it’s an estimate. You don’t have any liquidation data or even open interest.

Crypto is more transparent and you can use that and have a better chance of making actual money. Most that tried forex lost most of their money. Something like 99% of all forex traders lose all their money and give up.
1290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DeSantis promises to protect bitcoin in presidential campaign launch event on: May 25, 2023, 06:12:34 AM
I agree with the above poster, he just doesn’t have a chance again Trump. Trump has a crazy amount of supporters, it just won’t happen.

What has a higher chance of happening is Kennedy might actually win. However keep in mind. Will they actually keep their promises regarding crypto? They might only be saying this to buy votes because they know millions of crypto holders would vote for them since Trump and Biden is anti crypto.
1291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run near already? on: May 25, 2023, 06:08:14 AM
I am not in the loop but exactly what happened with China and Bitcoin. I remember a few years ago they banned mining and the difficulty went down for a couple of months since the farms had to relocate. And I guess they also banned the trading of Bitcoin and other cryptos.

However all these exchanges like Huobi, OKCoin, etc exist. So who was trading on these exchanges exactly? Non Chinese people. Can someone explain because I am confused because it seems China bans it and then Unbans it right after only to ban it again.
1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be pulled by the hype of meme coins on: May 24, 2023, 04:44:48 AM
During the hype about a week ago when gas fees were like >200 Gwei there were tons and tons of these new meme coins being released every hour pretty much. Anyway you wanted to call it like PEPE2 or PEPERONI or MILADY2, etc and most were massive rugs.

Now it seems to have died off. Many are still released but most don’t get pumped at all. I think many got burnt and wasted tons on fees on these tokens which were complete rugs that people moved on to something else.
1293  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: May 24, 2023, 04:39:04 AM
I don’t think they will default. They have no reason to default. Just print more money and hope for the best. Basically like paying a credit card with another credit card but they don’t have a limit.

Will crypto go up or down is hard to say if they default. If they default then markets will go crazy and bring stocks down along with crypto. However since it shows how irresponsible the government was, then it might drive more people into Bitcoin and might go up.
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could Litecoin Really Go Parabolic This Summer? on: May 23, 2023, 04:43:01 AM
I think I discussed this before in the other threads about Litecoin. I see these moves as nothing but buy the rumor and sell the news. Many think that this halving will be like the Bitcoin halving where it will be bullish but I don’t think it’s the same case here.

It’s risky buying now because there is a good chance that the $100 level might be the top and it’ll head back down for another 4 hours. Don’t want to end up bag holding.
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ($LINK) Chainlink Price Prediction on: May 23, 2023, 04:40:00 AM
Now LINK is in the phase of accumulation. Powerful support at the level of $6 is well working out its function. If to buy now, it is quite possible to hope for growth up to 40-60$ in the nearest 2-3 years. This project will not bring big profit, as, say, investors in 2017, but this project certainly can not be called a scam. In general, to add to his portfolio is quite good. Not an investment advice. DYOR.

In my experience, especially with crypto whenever a coin or token consolidates on support like this, it’s usually bearish and will eventually break the low. Think of 2018, how it kept touching $6000 area and then eventually Bitcoin broke the support. I see the same here.

It’s been here for over a year. Many are thinking the same and most likely got a stop right below the yearly low, it will eventually get tested and probably break down. If it wicks down but fails to make a new low then it’s confirmation to go long.
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Betting? on: May 23, 2023, 04:32:11 AM
Well the very first dice game was actually on chain. It wasn’t on Ethereum but it was on Bitcoin blockchain. The hash was used as the result so you knew it was provably fair. This was when fees were crazy cheap. I think the base fee was like 1000 sats but Bitcoin was maybe $50 back then so this was an ultra low fee.

Then it eventually had a website because the fees increased and you could bet faster with a user interface. So this is nothing new but playing from a centralized UI just seems better for most players.
1297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No Agreement to Debt Deals that Protects Crypto Traders on: May 23, 2023, 04:27:59 AM
He basically thinks that crypto traders have made trillions and have billions in unpaid taxes and that is why the us economy might go bankrupt and default on its debt.

He clearly doesn’t know how crypto works and there is also crypto outside of the USA. The issue with the debt deal is they need to massively cut spending. Especially on the military and focus less on issues such as climate change which aren’t that important in the near future.

Either way the debt ceiling will get raised and this will be resolved like 17 times prior.
1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: % idiots among investors on: May 22, 2023, 05:38:44 AM
Well if they default what else can you really buy? You can buy gold or even some foreign currencies. Stocks will be hard because they will most likely also fall due to the huge unemployment rate due to the default.

Keep in mind this won’t happen. Every year they have these scary tactics but in the end the debt is moved higher and everything goes on as before. Don’t know why people expect them to default, they will print their way out of this.
1299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: scalping Bitcoin vs. other assets on: May 22, 2023, 05:34:40 AM
Scalping is basically very short term trading. Basically you enter a trade and you leave in 5 minutes or like an hour. Usually it’s a type of day trading. You do it to make as much money as possible with least amount of risk because your stop is right.

Basically you buy ETH and use a $1 stop from entry and if you are right you get out at 5-20 moves on ETH. But you normally use high leverage for this since your stop is very tight.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Only 89 days left for Litecoin Halving event! on: May 21, 2023, 05:04:30 AM
I see that Litecoin is trying to breakout but I don’t think it’s halving is as important as bitcoins. This is going to be most likely a buy the rumor and sell the news type of event.

Usually when Litecoin rally’s what happens is that Bitcoin rallies right after. However the last few times this happened it marked the end of the pump. It seems people buy LTC and then swap to BTC and then tether up and the cycle repeats.
