  • Infamous elderly lady on assembly line.

That's nine so far, all different people. If that's not the case, then some 'plaining's in order.

Not sure which Sonny above is BFL_Sonny.

Feel free to post other names so that I can add them to the list.

The reason for the research is to see how many of the 22 employees are dedicated to the assembly line by deduction (subtraction).

Thirteen people on the assembly line! Josh cracking the whip and threatening with soldering irons.

Certain spiders build they own kites, then fly to new places. This is called spider ballooning.

I find it interesting that nobody has mentioned the toxicity of CFL bulbs, especially when compared to standard incandescent. Who'd have thunk that much mercury would be "green"?
How much mercury is there in a CFL?  Once you answer this question, put that answer in the context of other sources of mercury around you. Coal plants and fish, for example. Correct for the toxicity factor of organomercury vs. elemental mercury. Come back to us.

- I go to the farmers' market. They take dollars, not bitcoins.
- I go to work. They give me dollars, not bitcoins.

Bullshit.

My ears are bleeding. Yes, thank you God, you are so great. Roll Eyes
This has been written in the early 1900s and published in 1910. Just a reminder.

"purpose of nature is the advancement and unfolding of life"
no

"to be content with less is sinful"
Calvinism? I'm out.

Yes, and yes. Five minutes into it I couldn't stand the pathetic shallowness any more.
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grooveshark.com and their response to bitcoins on: October 17, 2012, 03:23:35 AM
The point for them is that there's no possibility of chargebacks (I bet that alone will be a big deal) and relatively modest payment processing fees (presuming they use bitpay or something similar).
When speaking to merchants about this kind of thing before the "no chargebacks" thing is the one thing that really grabs their interest.

I wonder if the administrative overhead is worth the fee with paysius or bitpay... Depends on your size, I presume.

Still no updates from Nefario.

A good handful or two of days have gone by now. Much has been talked about in our community.

I am interested in hearing what you all think should happen with BAKEWELL now that the GLBSE is gone.
What would be the solution you choose out of all the ideas and actions we have seen from the community lately.

I suggest - keep mining, liquidating, and upgrading as planned. Pay the dividends as planned (I'm assuming GLBSE will  be providing information in a day or two). If for some reason I want out, I'll try to find a buyer and upon receiving the payment I'll authorize you to transfer ownership in your spreadsheet.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How secure is Bitcoin-qt wallet? on: October 17, 2012, 01:00:27 AM
Bitcoins stored in an encrypted wallet are as secure as credit card you use for online purchases from the same computer.

This.

Obviously, if you're infected with keylogging malware then stolen BTC are only one of a number of monster problems you may face.
I was wrong. My statement above is true on the user side, but credit card numbers can be compromised  once they leave the user's computer. Not a problem with bitcoins.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuobtQlE_e0

Kudos to Tom for putting it together! By the way, the cupcakes were delicious! They tasted all the more delicious whilst I bragged to all my co-workers about buying them in Bitcoin.

Are there any rules about socks?

Rule #2. The account must have been created prior to September 30. Not sure if anything can be done to prevent older socks from sneaking through.
1293  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU cripples future graphics cards (by regulating max. energy consumption) on: October 16, 2012, 03:01:16 PM
Another way to look at this is that they did not "cripple future graphics cards" but crippled lazy or incompetent engineers and scientists. Competent and hard working folks will come up with ways to do more by using less energy.
1294  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 16, 2012, 07:31:43 AM
Buying ASICMINER shares for 0.065 btc per share. the shares must be deposited at friedcat.
How exactly would that work under present circumstances?
Did you just edit your own quote in my post?!

No idea who they are, but I did check my "ignore" list: sure enough, one of them was there. I voted for the other one, and I wish him an enjoyable meal.

Great idea! For those wondering about where the data came from, discussion is in this thread: adoption by country: nodes per capita.

1300  Economy / Economics / Re: What is Money? on: October 15, 2012, 05:26:01 AM
Lots of isms and related confusion, as usual. Money, just like anything else, "is" whatever you decide it to be. Different people will come up with different definitions, and that's perfectly fine unless they forget that these are arbitrary definitions, and start arguing about what something "really is."
