I couldnt believe what I heard today.
This has just turned into a bigger farce now, I think the Aussies have gone too far although Djokovic and team didnt make it easy for themselves and something had to happen regarding this whole vaccine issue at some stage.
It was both sides, both Djokovic's side and the tournament organizer's side, together with the Australian authorities, that brought the situation to a farce. Was it worth it to constantly loudly assert that no exceptions will be made for anyone in the direction of easing anti-Covid19 restrictions and then also loudly announce that Djokovic will take part in the tournament without vaccination and without a two-week quarantine? And then, in the wake of public outrage, to back down and refuse purely on formal grounds. Djokovic, too, with all his titles and my sympathies for him, has already crossed all the lines in his unwillingness to get vaccinated and, moreover, wanting to participate in all tournaments, despite the epidemic.

If they don't support vaccination, then they must be able to accept the risks like now where Covid cases are increasing again. Indeed, this may be due to a new virus variant, but at least if we have been vaccinated before then the impact of the current spread of the virus can still be suppressed quickly. We can only hope that they will be fine and the Bundesliga can be completed as scheduled, but if the delay causes the schedule to be pushed back a little I think that's fine as long as they stay safe and the Bundesliga is not completely suspended.
It seems that vaccination in the Bundesliga is pretty good. Another question is that the appearance of a new strain of coronavirus slightly confuses all these vaccine cards, because vaccinations are no longer so effective in spreading. Also, let's not forget that, of course, changes are being made to vaccines taking into account the appearance of new strains, but it turns out that this does not really apply to those who were vaccinated with old versions of vaccines. In any case, if nothing is done with restrictions and vaccinations and let the situation take its course, then we can expect the appearance of an even more deadly version of the virus and the current version of the virus is just a respite before that.

For the moment Inter are doing fantastic in the competition. I find Juventus very disappointing. If you look at how many points are behind the leader, they can't miss it anymore. There are quite a few privateers on the coast. Would personally like it if Atalanta Bergamo becomes champion one day. Have been finishing in the top 5 for years, with limited resources and limited players.
This fantasy cannot go on indefinitely and in any case there will be a recession and Inter needs to score as many points as possible by this point. On the other hand, a lot depends on how Inter will be able to transfer this process and whether it will be able to minimize all the unpleasant consequences of this. Also, everyone should see the example of Napoli, which looked just as fantastic, but the failures of several rounds threw the team from the position of leader. As a result of all of the above, I am not at all sure that Juventus has lost all chances even to win the championship if they can stabilize their results. It's just that if Juventus has a winning streak like Inter's, then you yourself will already forget about your doubts about Juventus' tournament prospects.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 05, 2022, 11:47:50 PM
I'm just hoping for Barcelona to get back into the top four at the end of the season. It doesn't matter if Xavi takes a lot of time to make Barcelona fully recover because it won't be easy, at least with Xavi can make Barcelona compete in the top four for now and also next season I think that will be enough because I know it will take a long process to get back to his best form and it's not just about money.
Honestly they are at least winning and getting up in the ladder even though they are missing players. Even their new transfer turned out to be covid positive so he is going to take some time to relax and get to know the city but I am guessing he can't just leave the house so I do not know. In the end as long as Barcelona keeps this new Xavi tactics going on, eventually players will come back and they will be doing a lot better. That is what I am hoping will happen and that is why I feel like there is going to be some sort of situation where players will get used to it more by the end of the season.
End of the season is a lot more important, other teams will be tired and have high fatigue while Barcelona will have it too but they will be playing better and better each time so they will end up with better results than their competition and move up even more.
If Xavi manages to bring Barcelona to the best physical and psychological shape by the end of the season, it means that the management did not appoint him to the post of head coach for nothing and completely guessed everything. Also, everyone will say that the risk was justified and some professional coaching inexperience did not have an impact. Another question is that Xavi has not achieved any of this yet and Barcelona fans can only believe in a successful outcome of the enterprise. I also think that we should not immediately make a tragedy out of the fact that if Barcelona cannot become champions this season, it will be a very good result if the club participates in the Champions League next season, because this is still a good increase in the team's budget with the club's not the best financial situation in recent years.

It seems like there is another opportunity ahead for Inter to increase the point difference with their closest competitors on the next match week. Inter are going to have an away game against Bologna. Maybe it is not the most comfortable game but I still don't think that Inter will stumble. They have destroyed Bologna in this stadium mostly. I see no reason for not witnessing another one. And their closest competitors Milan and Napoli are going to have tough games against Roma and Juventus respectively.
Be afraid of the obvious things! Grin The fact that Inter Milan and Bologna showed completely opposite results before in sports terms should not be misleading. In football, everything is decided by a single lucky chance, and this case is called one succinct word goal. Moreover, there was a pause in the championship and it is not at all clear how the teams reacted to the celebration of such big family holidays as Christmas and New Year and the celebration of which is very difficult to refuse with all the desire. Therefore, of course, I give an undeniable advantage to a team like Inter Milan, but I still urge you not to relax and keep in mind that Bolnya can also show his teeth.

Talking about Arsenal versus Manchester City, they both has won their last four matches.
Is Mikel Arteta really out with Covid ?
According to statistics, Arsenal has never lost their first league game of the calendar year since 2015.
With this I'm down for a home win or draw.
Arsenal and manchester city have positive results in their last 4 matches and even their got a big win in the week  19, now arsenal mentality will of course be tested with the arrival of manchester city in maintaining their consistency, although it has a small chance to win but I also hope that arsenal can at least get 1 point later. Reportedly, Arteta is currently positive for Covid-19 and will likely be replaced temporarily by Albert Stuivenberg  who has been an assistant coach so far.
Despite all the positive statistics of the matches that took place before, I still gave Manchester City some advantage. City scored a very good move and Pep Guardiola's wards do not allow themselves to misfire in recent matches, unlike competitors. Therefore, the fact that we have won the same number of matches before should not be misleading, because statistics are a very insidious thing and you should not completely rely on it. For me, the main thing in this match is that two specialists from Spain meet and one of them has a very positive result both in the results of the team and in tournament things and this person is not Pep Guardiola Grin By the way, happy New Year to everyone! Grin

Lol Mbappe to Liverpool, this has flown around the rumour mill so many times I wonder who's smoking what to keep legs on this. It's not that Liverpool don't need a striker, it's not that they don't have the money, it's not that Mbappe doesn't want to go to Liverpool, it's that this is not the way Klopp or the club do their deals, and it's just not the type of buy that fits the way we've dealth in the past 4/5 years.
Now, who can tell me if the Saka to Liverpool move is true? I don't think it's happening, but I've always rated him highly... can't say he's right for us though.
It would be great news if Mbappe, having given up on all transfer layouts and rumors, would move to Liverpool under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp Grin Mbappe and Salah would make a murderous bunch that would terrify all rivals Wink By the way, it seems that one of Salah's requirements for extending the contract is to strengthen the competitiveness of the club and the signing of Mbappe would fit well into this trend. It was under this sauce that rumors were recently filed about the possibility of Liverpool joining the fight for Erling Haaland, so I would not categorically reject the possibility of Liverpool joining the fight for Mbappe. Although, of course, given all the incoming information, the Haaland option looks much less fantastic.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 30, 2021, 11:51:06 PM
what Simeone is worried about is certainly very reasonable, because from some of the experiences that have existed so far, it is precisely the team that won the half-season that often experienced inconsistencies when the second round of Serie A began, and not even a few clubs that initially won the half-season had to end in failure champions like Milan last season.
The second round of matches will be played in a week and both teams now have enough time to rest their players, I think Bologna which is currently in 10th position is not a difficult opponent for Inter Milan, especially in the first round Inter Milan managed to beat Bologna with a high score 6-1.
I think that Bologna should keep in mind the result of the first round and therefore should make every effort so that this does not happen again, so I am not sure that Inter expects an easy walk in this match Wink By the way, the head coaches of teams that have such successful series are usually not very happy when such a long break occurs, which can knock the team off the rhythm already gained. Therefore, it looks very commendable that Simone Inzaghi has a sound view of things and understands perfectly well that only half of the work has been done and the main struggle is still ahead. We have already seen the unconditional leadership of Napoli in the first part of the championship and how this leadership melted away in just a few rounds due to the unsuccessful results of the matches.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 30, 2021, 11:41:38 PM
I think the same, Lille has had its good success because if they reached a final it is because things turned out well for them, and I do not think it is because the other teams in the league have been bad, on the other hand PSG who was the one who had All the options to win the French league and the Champions League were the favorites for having a strong trident like Messi, Mbappé and Neymar, however they could not control all that power they had and it has been reflected in the results, however I do not know if Mbappé leaves for January, if only Neymar and Messi remain, it is something unfinished.
In my humble opinion, Mbappe makes a more significant contribution to the success of the team than Messi and Neymar, so his potential departure will be a big loss for Paris Saint-Germain. Therefore, the efforts made by the club's management to extend the contract are understandable, without selling the player and risking letting Mbappe go as a free agent. When a team like PSG is present in your league, there are few concrete efforts of your team, but it is also necessary that PSG experience certain problems and this was the main reason for the success of Lille. But on the other hand, you need your team to be able to take advantage of these problems of the opponent and Lille then it turned out perfectly.

It's the end of the game tonight, Manchester united had a good game winning by three goals to one. Goals from Scott mactominay, Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. We should have seen more goals in the second half though,Cavani dropping deep yo help defend gladdens my heart. Sure we can see more of this, game after game..... Scott Mactominay is my man of the match.
Yes, Man United should have scored more goals but they failed to take advantage of several chances in the 2nd half. 3-1 is a pretty decent result for Man United, moreover, they are playing without their key player Bruno Fernandes. With this victory, it will certainly lift the mental and morale of the Man United players, so they will be more motivated to get more wins, and this is what Man United needs right now.
There is no better way to raise the morale of any football team than a victory Grin The most important thing is that this is not an isolated case and happens regularly, otherwise the effect will weaken and does not bring much benefit in the end Wink The most important thing for Manchester United at the current stage is to win and replenish the piggy bank of points, and not to defeat opponents with a killer score, because the club is not even among the top four who will compete in the Champions League next season. By the way, thanks to the goal scored in this match, which has already become 92 in the Premier League, Ronaldo beat his former team-mate and recent Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored 91 goals.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: December 30, 2021, 11:27:43 PM
By the looks of it, Barcelona will want to start the new year with a winning streak, with them doing "better" or basically others doing worse, they are at a good advantageous spot right now. Not saying that sociedad will end up losing more and more, but there is a good possibility. I agree with D-law that betis may end up losing points as well, which means there is a realistic chance that Barcelona could be second in the league.
I know that most people may consider "so what?" on something like that in any other year but this year it is obvious that they are not doing something that is regular and this is why it is definitely a different situation to be in. I am hoping for the best, but some stuff will change in the league for sure. Imagine things shaking where Barcelona moves from mid table which was crazy enough to second place, that will cause a lot of trouble for other teams for sure.
Now it remains to find out what Barcelona's rivals and competitors think about this, because they, too, would not mind moving to second place or even first place Grin But speaking seriously, I am impressed that Barcelona is taking active actions to overcome the crisis, including in the transfer market, and if everything is done correctly, then such actions should lead to success. Another question is that no one guarantees this and Javi Hernandez has no similar experience of correcting the situation as a head coach and Barcelona is taking a huge risk to aggravate the already difficult financial situation. Talking about the fact that Barcelona, in case of failure, will be able to rectify this by arranging a sale of players should not cause unnecessary illusions, because everyone should perfectly remember the recent situation when the club could not sell its players at a good price for the sake of extending the contract with Messi.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: December 29, 2021, 11:59:21 PM
Barca is getting just one shot to correct their poor performance this year and if it misses the effects will be felt next year as well. In fact it may be too late to correct at all the current year. Too little, too late... not the best move, not the best financial situation. All this is not proper for a team like Barca as they should have enough managerial talent to better understand the situation and use the resources more wisely. This is making La Liga a bit boring as Spain mostly depends on having Real and Barca in good shape and then the rest.
I really expect Barcelona to get better, and Xavi is getting those players he wants for his style of play, they didn't waited too long to start getting some players and thats great for them. I am expecting them to be doing a lot better in the second half of the season.
That Haaland news still sounds too weird to me, I doubt that they would add another 20% of the debt on top of the current debt they have, it would be a silly move if you ask me but if they can somehow manage to do that, and also Real gets Mbappe by the end of the season, we may have another period of ronaldo vs messi in la liga. It would make people watch a lot more and would make teams earn a lot more as well for sure.
I think that all normal football fans would like Xavi Hernandez to overcome the problems and Barcelona again represented a formidable force that would fight for the highest titles not only in the domestic championship, but also in the international arena. Nevertheless, the uncompromising confrontation between Real Madrid and Barcelona has been the main driving force behind the intrigue of the Spanish Championship for decades and has attracted attention not only in Spain, but also at a high international level. I think it's too early to talk about Mbappe's move to Real Madrid as a fait accompli, there is even less reason to think about Haaland's move to Barcelona, although of course the appearance of such figures painted La Liga with new bright colors and contributed to additional interest in the championship.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 29, 2021, 11:51:49 PM
Even though Napoli are above Juventus but this does not guarantee victory, remember Juventus are favorites for playing at home and during the last 5 matches this has a very good chance this is different from Napoli who have some bad performances and points drop to approach the bottom.
Still for me this match will not be flooded with many goals and it will probably end very little the possibility of a draw can also occur.
Agreed, but even if there are a lot of goals or both teams to score, at least it will probably only be a score as close as 2-1. But in any case even though Juventus are favourites, I also realize the potential of Napoli which is not just a mediocre team which means Napoli have the quality to be able to deliver surprising results as well. Ambitions like that sometimes come true by breaking the record of not being able to win away in the last few seasons, because we can only consider the condition and situation of the team recently.
I would not say that the current Juventus is the undisputed favorite in the match with Napoli. Both clubs have some problems with the results in recent games, so it is difficult to call one of them an unconditional contender for victory in the upcoming match. I would put it mildly that Juventus has a better chance of getting points than Napoli. Despite all the statistical nuances and preferences, I think that any outcome of the match is possible both in one direction and in the other. The only thing I would like to say about, given Juventus' modern style of play, is that in my opinion the meeting is unlikely to be replete with a lot of goals scored.

Kylian Mbappe has said that he will not be joining Real Madrid, he will remain focused on PSG to win the title he wants to achieve, although there is still 6 months of time Kylian Mbappe still wants to focus and this will be discussed after the contract expires.
But there are so many rumors going on I think Kylian Mbappe is still not thinking about that and he is still focused on PSG.
https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1475888971045654535
It's weird to finally hear him saying he wants to stay. Not that it would be weird for him to stay but he declined so many contract offers that at one point everyone considered he was doing it just because he wanted to leave and not because of money related stuff. I suppose if he can get like 50+ million euro per yer plus some incentives if they win UCL as well, then it would be smart for him to stay in the club as well.
It is really cool to see that team not breaking up after just one season of being together, I still believe that if they can get a great coach managing them they could have a chance to win UCL. Maybe even this year with the current manager, they haven't been looking that great to be fair, but not looking too terrible neither, with some more chemistry stuff going on during the break and all, maybe they will get a lot better on second part of the season?
Indeed, it would be quite unexpected news that Killian Mbappe is still staying at Paris Saint-Germain, given the information background there was about this and what kind of information was leaked to the press. This would undoubtedly be a transfer success for PSG and a reward for their patience and perseverance with which they tried to keep the player, despite the fact that the club had huge risks that Mbappe would leave as a free agent without any compensation to the club for the transfer. However, do not ignore the information a few days ago that Real Madrid is confident in signing a contract with Mbappe at the end of the season and would like to announce this after the matches of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 29, 2021, 11:33:41 PM
I predicted a difficult game for Chelsea, but I had the expectation that they would win the game. But they ended up breaking even.
With this draw, Chelsea are in second place, but further away from first place.
Man City won. But, congratulations must be given to Brentford who managed to defend well and only concede one goal, despite Man City constant attacks.
I'm not sure Brentford should be happy with a loss but they can take consolation in the fact that they held off city for majority of the match and had some pretty good chances of their own to draw level. Also, with the way City is going, I don't think they will drop points anytime soon. They just extended their unbeaten run to 9/10 games now (lost track now).
Brentford, of course, should hardly be happy about losing, but still, given the crushing score Manchester City dealt with their rivals in recent matches, then some reason for optimism should be present. Another question is that such optimism in itself did not add tournament points to Brentford because of the loss. Thanks to the rather unexpected loss of points by competitors, Manchester City was able to consolidate its leadership and increase the gap to 8 points. If Liverpool's loss in the match with Leicester could still be expected, then Chelsea's draw in the match with Brentford is a big surprise for me, despite some decline in the game shown and Chelsea's results.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: December 29, 2021, 11:23:23 PM
It is so unfortunate for Chelsea as they drew with Brighton by 1-1. But this is absolutely Chelsea's fault. Because they couldn't manage to score their second goal. And Brighton had always a silver lining to equalize the score. And the equalizer came very late that Chelsea couldn't even react to it properly. Welbeck saved one point for his team with a nice goal that Mendy couldn't even react to the header.
Has Thomas Tuchel magic starting to fade in our eyes, I saw an ordinary Chelsea team today, I saw a team that will fight for the top four this season.they remind of that players and team that sack Frank lampard.big one for Brighton they deserved a point in this game.
If Chelsea's successes, which followed Tuchel's arrival in the form of winning the Champions League, are really akin to some magic that did not quite follow from the state of the club, then Tuchel's task is just to build a strong club that is capable of achieving high goals even without magic. It was not to be expected that this process would be painless and some costs are and will be required. We can say that now there is a kind of temporary crisis, like a crisis in family relationships, which necessarily occur in married couples after some time has passed Wink But still, I would not directly compare Lampard and Tuchel as coaches. Still, in my humble opinion, Tuchel has more experience and more authority in the coaching shop, so I think that Tuchel has more opportunities to overcome this crisis.

Teams like Leipzig can't maintain a good performance for a very long time unfortunately. Otherwise, I would really like to see this kind of teams fighting for the title also. Everyone is sick of seeing Bayern Munich dominating the Bundesliga all the time in the end. Dortmund are our biggest hope but even they can't do anything which makes things really worrying.
After nagelsman left leipzig, leipzig performance continued to decline significantly even a few weeks ago leipzig also fired their coach again after getting a pretty bad result, now Tedesco is the new coach of leipzig, but I don't believe he will be able to make leipzig back rose like the era of nagelsman, I think no matter how good the coaches and players are in the league but in the end they will definitely move to bayern munchen, having strong finances is one of the reasons bayern munchen is able to dominate the bundesliga now and i think in the next few seasons it won't there will be a club that is able to break the dominance of bayern munchen in the league.
I still stand by my opinion that potentially Leipzig can compete with Bayern Munich in the near future. The Red Bull company, which owns the Leipzig football club, is quite ambitious in its sports projects and is building its football vertical, headed by RB Leipzig in Europe. Unlike Borussia Dortmund, which openly positions itself as an incubator for the cultivation and resale of players and sports results are only a side effect, then RB Leipzig seems to have sports goals in the first place. Another question is that it will take some more time. Still, at this point in time, Leipzig does not have such authority in terms of the game and the status of the club in front of the players, which can still be called the magic of the name that Bayern has.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 28, 2021, 11:59:16 PM
Napoli should be able to end the season at a good place in the standings. Despite their bad form recently, they still deserve to end at one of the top four places and qualify for the Champions League groups. They just need to stand up and fight with all they've got. And they have a really tough fixture ahead against Juventus away. Juventus have been in a great shape for some weeks. Napoli will have a hard time in this game but it is not impossible to get a win for them.
Only one win in last five games is surely concerning but luckily help come from half time of the season. I'm sure they will pick themselves up and get good results in second half of the season. The most positive thing about Napoli is that they beat their direct opponents. You talk like they are out of top four, they are still one of the biggest contenders of championship. There is only seven points difference with Inter. Inter started a win streak after they beat Napoli. Napoli started the season with a win streak. They have very similar form, just in different times.
Indeed, everything is still ahead and everything can change dramatically in the second round, because I cannot believe that Inter's winless streak will continue until the end of the season and the club will not experience difficulties at a certain stage. If Napoli can cope with its problems and starts to gain points steadily again, it will be a serious contender not just for a place in the Champions League, but also a contender for the Scudetto. The clubs will have to play each other once more in the second round and this is another chance to reduce the gap in points. As they say, all winning streaks tend to end, and defeats can serve as the beginning of a new winning streak Wink

Dortmund needs to look for a replacement for Haaland because it is very likely that Raiola will find him a new club this winter. Of course one should not forget about the defense because indeed in Dortmund there have been quite big problems with it lately.
It would be really good for Dortmund to start doing some research about some strikers already now. Because Erling Haaland is very likely to leave the team in next summer. I don't believe that some club can manage to sign him in January already but I'm very sure about the summer transfer window. Clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, PSG and Manchester United are already thinking seriously of signing him. If Dortmund can't fill his place with a solid striker, then they can have bigger problems in the next season I assume.
If Haaland leaves for another club already in this transfer window, it will look like a disaster for Borussia Dortmund, because the club is not ready for this and the team will lose a player who made a significant contribution to scoring points in the Bundesliga. I strongly doubt that the transfer will take place now, because it seems that the point of the contract on the amount of the buyout, which everyone is talking about, should come into force in the summer. Also, it seems that all the rumors about potential buyers speak about the willingness to pay this amount. Although I think that the amount will still be higher than the potential 75 million euros.
1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 28, 2021, 11:48:53 PM
Mbappè was predictable and I also think he will not leave if they will offer 30m/year. Insigne was searched by Inter and it is astonishing to say no to Inter and go to Toronto only for the money. Well, he has 4-5 more years of play and it will be 50 million... not so stupid.
It's not all about money, although Mbappè has nothing to complain about. But he's at home, that counts for a lot. In any case, I think he's right to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, and strive to help him win the Champions League, the championship and the cup. And with him in Paris, Real Madrid will have a lot of difficulty, it's no wonder they wanted to buy him.
It depends for Mbappe. If PSG managed to win CL title then he will most likely stay with the club. If PSG will lose or be humiliated in a CL game or less likely lose Ligue 1 title then he will probably walk away and find his way to get some trophies with Real Madrid.
For Insigne, I didn't thought he will make that step early if we could say so!
I don't think winning the Champions League will have a decisive impact on Mbappe's decision to stay at the club and extend his contract. Maybe even on the contrary, winning the Champions League will have the opposite effect, that the player will decide that he has already won the title and now it's time to look for new challenges and achieve new successes at a new club Wink In any case, anything can still happen in this matter, information like Mbappe is thinking about extending his contract with PSG will continue to leak to the press, and money will play an important role in which option the further development of events will go Wink
