1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 27, 2023, 01:52:53 PM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling

If there was anything life was so boring and solitary in this 21Century then it would definitely be within the period of the covid-19 pandemic and that was when the number of gamblers increased as people seek for means and ways of catching fun while making money at same time and I happened to find myself among those that took to online gambling within that period and till now there's no turning back despite several losses and a few non-commensurable wins. In all I made sure to discipline myself not to be carried away with addiction and cutting my bet expense at a percentage per week my pocket can't feel even if I loss it all. That's how a good gambler should do.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 27, 2023, 01:41:33 PM
The Super Falcons will go head to head against Australia in today's fixture and we're expecting to see a different ball game from the Falcons after getting a draw in their last game against Canada. In today's game the Australian team won't stand a chance against the Falcons, with the Australian team having injury issues, is going to be a huge disadvantage for them (Australia female team). No matter the odds which is against the Falcons with Australia as the favorite in winning this game, I feel the Super Falcons are getting all 3pts to be second on the log.
Nigeria needs a win or at least a draw so that there is still a chance to qualify from the group phase because losing to Australia means they are eliminated because in the third match, Canada only needs a draw against Australia. However, winning the match against Australia is not an easy job for Nigeria because the team they are facing is one of the strongest in the group and is also quite the favorite to win the World Cup this time because the host factor will give them an advantage because it is fully supported by the spectators who attend the stadium..
Contrary to your placement of the super falcons they didn't just win but humiliated the Australian women with a 3:2 victory. A second half that was so perfected by the third sealing goal of the Nigerian forward Oshoala Asisat in the 72minutes of play. No doubt Australia women are one of the favourite forecast to win the 2023 wwc but the performance of the Nigerian women today is sending a different message at a moment they were underrated by fan around the world they decided to shock the world. Now their chances of qualifying to the round of 16 is feasible. Australia 2 v Nigeira 3.....FT
1283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: July 26, 2023, 11:30:32 PM
The idea of the forum was mainly to share our knowledge with others about bitcoin and for general knowledge. A community of great minds discussing about daily riveting issues within our environment. And by extension basically promoting the idea of bitcoin through classical resolution to questions that arises in the process.
But the additional aspect of members  earning through the forum is nothing but an addied  privilege to forum members.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: July 26, 2023, 10:42:57 PM
Gambling places are not for steady income, if you want steady income with gambling, online or offline, you have to be a owner, build your own casino and watch yourself growing up into a filthy rich billionaire.

Online casinos are places where it's certain that you will lose your money, it's a place where you need to be mentality sane to at least have a good ride and experience as you progress, it's not always about making money with gambling, it's always about not ending up running insane because of gambling.
Just like the saying' if you wanna have the bread so badly enough then own the bakery and you will have it to your fill. Same way with gambling you can't win the amount of money you desire to stay wealthy by being an ardent gambler buy by owning a single casino you can make in a year money you could never make 10 years  gambling.  In ones bid to make so much money trying to employ different strategies to win the casino you will indirectly turn to the source of income to the casino house because you will be losing more than winning.

A lot of us gamblers do not depend on our experience in gambling over the year to be able to get a win cause many times as I can recall some of the major wins I have gotten were out of luck and not mainly by experience of over the years.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 26, 2023, 08:03:34 PM
What other pattern of gambling can more favourable and appealing to offering me 5BTC so stop gambling for life. The bitter truth that majority of us gamble for the money not fun and if we are wealthy enough we will never accept gambling as an option to make money when we can invest in numerous projects that can fetch us profit that's not based predominantly on luck like gambling. So OP, YES I will take the 5BTC and gladly walk away from anything related to gambling. I can get fun from other pleasurable activities with my money.
1286  Economy / Gambling / Re: what are the best crypto casinos! on: July 26, 2023, 07:38:11 PM
I'm just wondering why it must be only 4 casinos when there are a lot trusted casinos in this forum. However each gambler has their own preference to pick the best casino and it's differ from one to another. Someone may not like KYC, so they will not gamble in most of casinos including the 4 casinos you mentioned above. Someone may not like inactive representative, so they will not gamble in bitsler.
There's no need to wonder, it is his own opinion which is subjective and anyone can make his own picks and you will find out that not one out of the four casinos picked by op might be in there too.
Going further, It just exactly as you said my preference to kyc can make me pick casinos you rarely hear about buy because they meet my criteria and needs they become the best for me. Some gambler prefer gambling sites that houses both casinos games and sports betting together and they can solicit that those are the best gambling sites compared.
1287  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: July 26, 2023, 03:47:50 PM
Obviously, however we are not really talking about those games but games in which the skill of the player can overcome the odds given by the casino with skillful play, now computers are already better than humans playing poker, however this is a fair game in which all the players on average receive the same cards, however in theory it is possible to develop an AI which can beat the casinos in a game like sports bets, as there are already humans that can do so already and developing an AI with that level of skill should be possible.
^ I got your point which it is evident that some games can be skill-based and that computers have already surpassed human abilities in certain games like poker. However, the focus here is on games where player skill can tilt the odds in their favor against the casino. While poker is a fair game with equal card distribution, the possibility of developing an AI capable of outperforming casinos in games like sports betting is feasible. Human bettors have already demonstrated this skill, and creating an AI with such capabilities should be possible.
@doublehunter did you  also thought about the other aspect too, don't you think the casino house would also go ahead to create a counter mechanism that should put them in the advantage too to beat the player skill and AI capability to outperform. Don't forget that this is business and the casino houses are also investing into research to develop strategies they could use to minimize players wins and maximize profits too. IMO introducing AI gambling will trigger a constant struggling between the gambling house and AI users.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A neighbor next door on: July 26, 2023, 03:30:29 PM
If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

What will you do if something like this is happening around you?
Op the first question that will come to mind if I had to be in your position on this situation is "what will Satoshi do in such circumstance? Will he go ahead succumbed into bringing drug dealers to bitcoin ?  Obvious the answers to these questions of mine is NO. Bitcoin white paper by Satoshi explains it all the real intend of the establishment of bitcoin and not some subway to laundering ill-gotten monies.

Quote
Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?
This is one of many excuses the government's are using to backup their arguments why they had to restrict or ban the use of bitcoin in their countries. Claiming it's an easy means to starch and launder money by criminals so therefore we shouldn't give the centralized system a loophole to prove their claims by virtue of we going ahead to teach criminals how to use bitcoin. The currency was created for illegal use.
OP he can go and learn from somewhere else but let it not come from you.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Other Things You Can Bet on Aside Sports and Casino Games on: July 26, 2023, 01:59:46 AM
We love our gambling for several reasons. Some of us do it for fun and entertainment, some do it for the money, and some do it for both the money and entertainment. Outside of sports betting and online casino games, did you know that there are other things you can bet on?

13 - The End of the World: As crazy as it may sound, there is an online betting site for this. People predict when the world would end. Don't know if they will be around for the prize money if they eventually win.
Is this some kind of a joke Grin... Just couldn't hold it but burst into laughter reading this very one cause on a very serious note  it does really sound weird. I can literally gambling about anything but not gambling on something I won't be alive to get my winning prize. For what's the essence of making the bet?

Come to think of it even if the world doesn't end lets say next 200 years would they still be alive by then to follow up their bet or is tt that people don't know what to bet on anymore or am I the only one thinking that such bettors needs an urgent mental attention.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 26, 2023, 01:03:20 AM
There's a thread that wants gambler to quit and there goes this thread that has a quote in your hometown encouraging people not to quit or else, they're losers.

Or would you allow your decision to quit gambling to be affected by any popular statement among your fellow gamblers or it's a no no thing for you?
My decision is my decision.

I will not allow someone to get on touch with my decision because I am already a grown up and I know what's best for me. Either someone says that gambling is terribly bad and I may lose a lot of money.

I knew that from the very start but I am not that type of gambler that will allow it to happen.
Standing on your own decision as a gambler can be that easy to do when you're what I would describe as a one man squad gambler. A kind of gambler that doesn't have some group of fellow gambling friends but does his thing alone.
But it would be difficult to have your decision untouched when you are that type of gambler that has an exclusive clique of gamblers and this clique can influence your decision. You may try to hold on but there's a 50/50 chance of you or any gambler that finds himself with cliques to bow to pressure at some point. It is like a peer group influence.
1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 26, 2023, 12:32:34 AM
An individual that is comfortably making use of fiat in his daily business activities and having no problem using it, OP you don't expect such individual to give you attention when talking to him about bitcoin that's a virtual currency talk more of him gaining interest in the use of it. People seek for an alternative when the current system they were using isn't giving them the needed satisfying results as it were and it's such people that are in search for an alternative that would be ready to give interest and acceptance to bitcoin adoption when they get introduced.
We don't have to force bitcoin adoption on people , allow them to breathe with time they will come by. We can't look back 14 years ago today and say bitcoin is not making progress.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 26, 2023, 12:15:17 AM
Last 2 night I signed up to an online bet called betking (become a KING) and I bet a virtual stake with 1700 naira to win 1,438,540.92 naira, but the game was lost and the bet that made it to lost was the last one I added, before I added the last one that made the winning to be this amount, I was having double thoughts like should I make the winning a random figure 1.5 million or I should stake it at 1.3? But out of greed I refused to bet the game at 1.3 and I added the one that lost the bet, what a pity?
Greed is one thing that gets some game lost, the stake we are supposed to win out of greed we add another that get the game lost.
Out of my own experience I have learnt my lessons, but I don't believe that this opportunity might ever come again because I don't bet often, on a second thought this my story is what makes some people put more interest on gambling.

It sounds like you're trying to describe the martingale strategy without actually knowing it's name or maybe I misread your opening sentences.
The description @rachel9385 described above is not that of martingale strategy/theory, you @fortify did misread it mate so let me try to give an interpretation. The martingale strategy talks about the continuous doubling of our staking amount on each bet as a way to recover previous losses through one win that we may be lucky to get.

But this explication of @racheal9385 he's talking about how out of greed he added one more prediction to the already number of predictions he had made, and that extra prediction cost him his bet. And the reason for adding the extra prediction was because he wanted to increase his potential winning amount from 1.3Million to 1.5million but unfortunately for him the outcome of the last odd he added to raise his wining amount didn't play as predicted, an act he is attributing to greed.
I hope my explanation helped.

1293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 25, 2023, 07:58:52 PM
As people that are dealing with digital currency it's gonna be an added advantage to have apprehension about cyber security giving you an edge over your contemporaries as a bitcoin holder nevertheless it's not compulsory that everyone that's into bitcoin be it a trader or investor must enroll in a course to acquire cyber security knowledge. Hence the person is not taking it beyond being a bitcoin holder or trader then the basics on how to keep your secret phrase safe and secure, not sharing it to a second party, been aware of avoid clicking of unverified links etc, that's enough to hold onto for ones wallet security.
Let be very careful not to make the bitcoin holding stuff look so tedious and herculean to handle in our various wallet it could scare some newbies somehow.
1294  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: July 25, 2023, 06:34:42 PM
The job market has become extremely competitive in the past few years, while the increasing cost of living and low wages are forcing people to move abroad for a chance at a better future. Personally, I believe the economic conditions in Greece have been deteriorating; groceries, rent, and fuel have skyrocketed while the available income keeps shrinking. People with degrees are struggling to find jobs in their field that pay above the minimum wage and offer benefits such as paid vacation and humane working conditions.

Moving abroad isn't an easy decision; there are several factors to take into account, with the most important one being the language barrier. I only speak English; moving anywhere apart from the USA and UK would be a huge challenge because I'd have to learn a new language from scratch. Moreover, you'd have to take into account the increasing living costs of Germany compared to Greece, which means that you must have saved enough money until you manage to get settled in one place..

Moving abroad to a strange land is not something that easy and not everyone that made it abroad end up having the kind of life he imagined in mind to what could be referred to as a greener pasture. For some it even gets worsen when they finally travelled abroad as they may not have a good paid job or have to work themselves 4x more just to make a good pay for the week and end up having bills taking up 50% of it. If I could afford the necessary amount of money that can take me to go live abroad I'll prefer using that money to think of a good business investment to direct that money into cause in my country currency such amount to use in traveling will be running into millions. In this present day economic crisis no country has it better and cool anyway.

Don't overthinking yourself for you already have a good financial tool at hand "bitcoin", which is the new digital gold now. Plan on how to accumulatively invest in it periodically before your retirement time by then you must have made good ROI profit that you can use to establish yourself in some other lucrative business. Traveling abroad doesn't guarantee a save haven for all that does. @op think about it.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 25, 2023, 12:50:15 PM

After watching the game I began to wonder how Morocco qualified for the world cup. Their attaching was blunt and made little or no attempt to score, the midfield lacked coordination, the defense was weak and the goalkeeping was very poor. I think they are no match for the Germans. They scored two own goals because of pressure and ended up conceiving six goals. Their next two games are also against strong teams Colombia and South Korea. Let's see if they can replicate the success of their male team in Qatar.
For a moment, I was thinking they would wake from their slumber after conceding the first own goal but the pressure was just too much from the Germans. I too wonder how they made it to the World Cup. Maybe they had the likes of Haiti and Vietnam?
So far in all the matches played by the African countries in the women's world cup the super falcons of Nigeria are the only team to have scaled through with a point, making the African continent proud by not losing to Canada even when they were one player down. China beaten Zambia 5:0, and now Germany beats Morocco 6:0. The results are awful like they never prepared and trained for this tournament and it's really demands a questioning of their qualification to FIFA WWC 2023.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: July 25, 2023, 12:09:14 PM
How Does This Abuse Relate to Gambling?
We all know that gambling is originally meant to act as a means of entertainment, that is, its one of the ways people entertain themselves and in so doing, they stand a chance at winning money..
Today, because of the possibility to win money through gambling, Many gamblers no longer gamble as way of being entertained, but have turned gambling into  their major source of income, this is abuse because gambling was never meant to be a source of income or livelihood to anyone, but rather, another way for players to entertain themselves.
Well my friend the system if things has been revolutionized and gambling is not left out in the revolution. The the current economic hardship people currently facing @op you can agree with me that getting only entertainment from partaking in gambling is not enough and without the aspect of the money involved too gambling would have gone into extinction as people would have fashioned or invented something similar to gambling but delivers beyond just entertainment.

IMO, for the part of abuse it is inevitable what we can do is find ways to curb it's increment among gamblers by counseling them about the negative effect of the attitude.
1297  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: July 25, 2023, 11:42:57 AM

Our signature campaign has reached 78th week, it might be paused soon to face a few updates, watch out!

Hello 1xbit_official,

Thanks for being part of Signature Campaign for almost two years! 🤝

We look forward for updates and next years of development and growing of 1xBIT! 🚀🚀🚀
are they still paying you? or this is a post to pump so they will consider running the campaign longer?
I think they are still paying so many participants their signature is active to host it again here, I believe they have been paid for pumping also to get attention again from this forum, still no use because the name 1xbit has been broken and not trusted in this forum although maybe newbies can still access it without knowledge of this site.
Comfortably receiving money that was scammed from other people's deposit is just another level of wickedness and all those participants of 1xbit needs to have a rethink about their continuous submission to 1xbit campaign in the forum and desist. 1xbit has refused to do the right thing by constantly preying on the unfamiliarity of those that register and deposit money in their site and forum members shouldn't take part in their criminality.

As a new member of the forum, to ignorantly join 1xbit is one of the most unfortunate mistake any newbie can ever make in the forum, and it can't be deciphered if it was out of ignorance or a deliberate act that's where you are hooked. So therefore members like us that have known  about the scamming attitude of 1xbit would stop at no point to continually raise the banner against them to the knowledge of newbies and refreshing the minds of old members too about them.

1298  Other / Meta / Re: The problems newbies face on: July 24, 2023, 10:29:34 PM
Normally newbies who just join this forum are been attacked by those that have been here for long and secondly the rules and guidance and where to post and not to post and gaining merit .

Op maybe the right word to use is not attack but chastisement and if you see it in this very word then  the forum would be easier for you to learn from. No one will attack you if you make a good quality post, go back to the drawing board check to know why you're been attacked learn from it so you don't have to reiterate your mistakes.

Op you said Secondly the rules! Yea what's wrong about the rules? Are you part of those that wants to live in a community of lawlessness and chaos?  Closely read the rules for they are simple to abide by and there's no rigidity or difficulties associated in keeping to them as established.  Create within you  a positive mindset about the forum if growth means anything to you.
1299  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 24, 2023, 09:57:05 PM
Op you made a good point in this context, no matter how passionate we become about bitcoin and wishes to extend the knowledge to people within our spheres we should take on serious background check about the character of those we wish to preach bitcoin to, cause the idea to many of these ignorant people is that immediately they hear you talk about bitcoin they think you're rich and have a lot of money already. Cause many of them think bitcoin is a source of getting rich quick money-making-machine and those of criminal mind might wanna come after you afterwards to have their own part of the cake. Let's be careful out there, for the days are evil.
1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pros and Cons of Crypto vs. Traditional Gambling on: July 24, 2023, 09:40:29 PM
As crypto gambling’s popularity rises, traditional gambling’s popularity wanes. But before jumping into crypto gambling, it’s important to know the pros and cons of both. Below, we list three pros and three cons for traditional gambling and crypto gambling.

The traditional gambling houses still has a base for those conservative gamblers that uses fiat to gamble finding it difficult to make use of the online crypto cansinos but what makes the online gambling casinos so renowned with lots of people trooping in is because of its convenience. From anywhere at all you can sit down and gambling without having to walk or drive miles to a traditional gambling casino where it's located. But AFAIK the pros and cons of the both are subjective to the choice of the gamblers why they choose to use online crypto or traditional fiat casinos.
