1281  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: January 12, 2024, 09:22:35 AM
I was thinking new kind of plan to buy bitcoin every month from my salary immediately my company paids me but I still have other responsibilities to carry with family so am skeptical about it especially now that the price has no direction. If can afford storing every month in a long run I may realizes half of bitcoin unit and that's a big achievement to buy but to you is funny because you have enough of it. So advise me on what to do! Should I hold on because of the instabilities in price? Or I should buy and store? Over to you

If only we can see the future, many people will not make mistakes about their investment plans, they'll make the right decisions because they already knows the future outcome. I hope that you went ahead to keep buying and holding Bitcoin till now, because if you do that means that you've made a very wise and profitable investment decision. Bitcoin in it's nature is volatile, so even if there's price instability for a while, experience shows that it'll overcome it and start to pump or dump. With the anticipation of the coming bull run since last year should've been an indicator to you that despite Bitcoin price instabilities then that along the way that it's price will continue to rise because of the coming bull season. If you stopped then it's not too late now to start as price is estimated to hit $100 by the end of this year.
1282  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why crime are on the rise daily on: January 12, 2024, 07:54:48 AM

To be honest, I believe it would better for people not to have children if they know they cannot provide them with food, education and shelter, but unfortunately uin developing countries sometimes having several children is perceived as a way to keep the family going. Anyways, I am not an expert at this, it would be better to ask a sociologist or someone who is expert at this kind of phenomenon for us to understand it better.

Also, that case you talk about a local tribe in your locality is quite disturbing, it is something I would have expected the government to intervene in somehow...it sounds like criminal neglect.

There are many reasons why crime is on the increase these days, but I want to focus on population explosion, this is a major factor of the increase in crime, as far as I know. It will sound ridiculous but poor men actually have more than 10 children, especially in the tribe that the OP is talking about, they're illiterates and destitute, all they do is keep producing babies. Their kids will go about constituting nuisance in the society, begging and stealing, also being used to commit various criminal activities. I think that the government is addressing the matter now. So I totally agree that parents should give birth to the number of children that they can carter for, and try as much as possible to give them good foundation so that they'll grow up to be responsible citizens. Children that are not properly brought up are far more likely to become criminals than those that were properly raised and thought good manners.
1283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scams flourish most during bull runs. on: January 12, 2024, 06:03:29 AM
I think it doesn't matter if we are in a bull run or bearish trend, scammers will be scammers. Although it is just magnified in the bull run as there are a lot of newbie investors and this is the target of this cyber criminals and scammers.

So it's very important and I think this is the number 1 thing that every crypto investors need, educate themselves on every project that they put their hard earn money. And as we have said before, “If it is too good to be true it probably is". Meaning, if the offer appear too ideal or promising, it's wise to approach them with a degree of skepticism and investigate further.

It's true that scammers don't take breaks they operate everyday of the year looking for victims to steal from, but Bitcoin bull run season is also a boom season for them to scam more people because many newbie investors will enter the market. As the OP has stated areas to watch out for it's important for anybody that's looking to make the most of the bull season to be very cautious and carry out thorough research before putting their money in any crypto projects, because scam projects will be on the increase. The Bitcoin ETF approval is a new angle that scammers will also utilize to scan victims because the concept is new to most crypto users, it is an area that should be very well researched so scammers will not tell you make believe stories to steal from you.
1284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved, next Ethereum ETF? on: January 12, 2024, 05:07:32 AM
As we all know, the Bitcoin ETF is already approved. So, do you think the next ETF for Ethereum will be approved as well? Many companies, including BlackRock, have filled the Ethereum ETF as well. I believe the line is already clear to approve the Ethereum ETF since the SEC gave green light to the Bitcoin ETF. We have noticed significant price movements on Ethereum since Bitcoin EFT was approved. I don't see any reason not to approve the Ethereum ETF as well. The deadline is May for the Ethereum ETF. We have to wait for that. What's your thoughts about Ethereum ETF?

Truly, there have been fiings for Ethereum ETF last year as well and since Bitcoin ETF has been approved, it will pave an easier way for Ethereum. Ethereum which has more scalability and utility just like other traded securities should be passed speedily and successfully and approved. The time of approval is still somewhat far, so let's see the drama the SEC and the market would do before then. But nothing can be as shaky as that of Bitcoin, Bitcoin shuck the entire cryptocurrency market with this ETF of a thing and I am glad that it eventually ended in celebration. Others shouldn't have issues with approval, especially those with good projects and popularity like Ethereum.

Bitcoin has paved the way for Ethereum speedy approval, so I don't see Ethereum having any delays when it reaches it's deadline in May, it has the potentials of getting it's ETF without further delays. I think that the outcome of Bitcoin ETF can play a major role when it's the turn of Ethereum ETF, it's success will have a positive impact on the side of the US SEC, to approve for Ethereum, without any delays. Big names like blackrock, are already in line for Ethereum, so I'm quite positive that Ethereum don't need to go through the rigors of Bitcoin before getting the green light.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in meme coins is worthy or not? on: January 11, 2024, 07:12:59 PM
Investing in meme coins is worthy or not?

I've literally heard about hundreds of different memo projects but have really only seen a handful get massive FOMO, so the view I've always held with these things is that they're gambling. When talking about opportunities to make big profits, don't ignore risks, and risks often account for more. So honestly, if you are ready for that, just make your own decision without depending on anything,, inherently, risks, contain opportunities but don't be too blind to greed, and you will get lucky.

Investing in memecoins can be likened to gambling, you make your pick, put money in it and accept whatever outcome that you get, they're an easy way to get very fast returns on a very short time and they also carry the risk of losing your money in scam projects. So it depends on individual investor risk tolerance, if they have the appetite for it then it's ok to give a shot at one, but let them remember to atleast carry out some reasonable research about their choice meme and invest the amount that they can afford to loose.

1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things in Binance Under New CEO - What are your thoughts? on: January 11, 2024, 02:50:06 PM
There has not been any huge difference except back to back listing of coins, CZ was more proactive and it would be too early to conclude on Richard Tang but right now there would be more pressure of centralized exchanges as we have seen regulators tightening their noose around CEX, Apple app store removing Binance from Indian market and how Richard Teng deals with this would define his credibility.

It's still quite early to judge or conclude the performance and impact of the new CEO Richard Teng, I think that Binance is still running the way CZ left it, except for a few changes like the listing of some new tokens. CZ worked so hard to build Binance to be the number one crypto exchange, and I think that Mr. Teng, must be the right man for the job, if not he wouldn't have been appointed. Although it's still quite early to know whether he can fit very well in his new position, whether Binance will still retain it's number one position will soon unfold under his new leadership.
1288  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 11, 2024, 12:43:42 PM

2. Live on one source of income. Everyday of our life our responsibilities and challenges keeps piling up accumulating without consideration to our financial capability. The economy and cost of living continue getting worsen. So in order not to be able to beat this piling settle comfortably on a single source of income flow.

3. Become an extremely cheerful giver/lender to friends and family. A wisdom quote I read somewhere said, "if you want to lose your friends and family lend them money".  Keeping doing this and you going to be successfully poor.

You gave very good tips to the road to becoming a failure, and it is quite easy, all the individual has to do is follow them or simply do nothing, they all lead to the same destination. I perticularly singled out numbers 2 and 3, they're very remarkable, follow them and the individual will not only become poor but with an extra bargage of having enemies.

In our present world today the cost of a comfortable lifestyle is quite expensive and most incomes can not meet up the demands of goods and services that keeps increasing, so depending on one source of static income can not continue to carter for the increasing cost of living. Without an alternative source of income the earner is inviting poverty.

People have learnt from bitter experiences not to reveal their true financial status to family and friends, because if they know your true worth, most of them will keep coming back for more loans or free money. If you don't give you'll become an enemy and if you give and they don't pay back, when you complain you'll likely still become an enemy. It's better to give the amount that you can afford to loose, unless you're planning to become poor.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 10:53:47 AM
Women are not good in gambling but they are very good in the managerial position of the casino or the gambling company. They are good in recording and booking games for gamblers. Though I ha e seen female gamblers but they are not active, and smart like men. And the number of worn who gamble which o have seen are few. And I have also seen female in the casino halls as cashiers or sport bookmakers.

Though women can gamble but they can't bench men in gambling. They are some men that even like to sleep I'm the gambling hall.

I doubt that women can make better gamblers than men because of their nature, women are more tender and can easily break down emotionally if they experience loses, but they're good in managerial positions, if you give most of them money to manage in the home or community they have that motherly instinct to be able to use the money prudently to carter for the needs at hand. But when it comes to taking the risks that is involved in providing the money, with all due respect to them, I'll say that men takes the lead. Therefore gambling is risky and it takes guts to bet your money on something that you can't know the outcome, and by nature men are better equipped to take and withstand the pressures risks without showing too much emotions.
1290  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does this Qualifies you to give non-professional or semi-professional financial on: January 11, 2024, 09:49:01 AM

Yes, with the utmost sense of humility, I think I can unarguably pass as a semi-professional financial advisor on Bitcoin (cryptos) matters to people. Even as a TA person, one can still have an idea (may not actually end up going there, anyway) where price could be going as it's mostly affected by fundamentals/news. Right now, it's safe to say that what's driving Bitcoin is fundamentals, given to the halving air which are somehow subject to quicken what TA could be showing.
This is what I thought too but then I am usually highly selective of people who I give these type of semi-professional advice to. Once I perceive that the individual is liberal, has an open mind and is receptive to learning, I do so unreservedly. But if the individual is one of those conservatives , that is hard of learning and wants nothing more than prove to me that they have a better financial knowledge and experience than myself, I withdrawal from giving any advice.

I think that without being too technical in analyzing Bitcoin, that I can give advice, atleast regarding it's investment, the basic thing is be informed about the best time to buy, which is when there's price dip, during bear run, begin to accumulate till bull run and decide to sale or keep holding. So it's to follow the fundamental analysis and understand the market trends, being an investor in Bitcoin is not that complex, especially if the person is holding on a long term.

I wouldn't go near giving Bitcoin or any altcoin professional trading advice to anybody, because I'm yet to aquire enough knowledge about their analysis, whatever advice that I can give based on my knowledge so far, I'd have to tell the person to carry out their own research before deciding to make any trading decisions.
1291  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Between placing a wife on monthly allowance and opening business for her on: January 11, 2024, 08:24:56 AM
I think that men by nature likes to take care of their wives by providing for every of her needs, and when they start to have children she'd be managing the home while he provides money and protection for them. But due to the high demands of the society, a better standard of living, to afford a comfortable lifestyle costs money, and most men are not able to meat up this demands, so it becomes necessary in most cases that the wife is established to be making financial inputs in the family.

Traditionally it's the sole responsibility of the man to provide for the family, but because of too much financial burden on the man and because of modernization it has become a normal thing for women to work and support their families. If I'm super rich I'll encourage my wife not to work and concentrate on taking care of the family, but I'm not rich, so because of that I'll encourage her to work and support the family.
1292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: January 11, 2024, 06:41:46 AM
No, I don't have a hard time because I don't even try to convince anyone of anything related to Bitcoin. If I hear someone talking about it I play dumb. The less people know that I have Bitcoin, the better. And the less I would even think of talking about it while traveling around. You want to put a bull's eye on yourself.

This is the approach that I've taken now, I hold my Bitcoin in peace and do every cryptocurrency related activities without any advertisements, because people who don't understand Bitcoin unfortunately likens it to Ponzi or some scam project and I'd have a hard time trying to explain that it's not true. I was very enthusiastic about preaching Bitcoin to friends, but I never got any positive response, so i eventually gave up, I even removed the signboard in front of my shop, advertising that I collect Bitcoin as payments, because nobody did. The few friends that I told about this forum then where more interested about how soon they'll start to earn from campaigns, they lose interest when I tell then the slow process. I can only discuss Bitcoin with anybody if I see genuine interest in them.
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 11, 2024, 05:46:52 AM
Bitcoin ETF has been approved which is a good new for other Altcoin as well. As we all know, since Bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurrencies if there is a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin it will also affect the price of other cryptocurrencies. For instance if by the end of the year Bitcoin hit the target of $100k definelty other altcoins will experince a huge increase in their price. Bitcoin bull run is as well altcoin bull run.

My candid advises to people who do not have the opportunity to buy bitcoin, is to find an altcoin that they can buy and hodl. If it is difficult to know which altcoin to buy, then I'll just list a few here i think i can spend some bucks on. They include Solana, Ethereum, BnB and Doge.

Let's put some effort and hope for the best to happen.

The long awaited SEC approval of Bitcoin ETF has finally happened, a good news for Bitcoin investors, although there was news about the approval being fake news yesterday, but I'm glad that it's behind us now. I'm hoping that it lives up to the it's hype since last year and make Bitcoin to be more profitable, because there shouldn't be anything holding it to reach the $100 mark.

Investing in top Altcoins should be profitable too now because investors will want to take the advantage of the Bitcoin pumping to bull run and also be happy to take advantage of them, because they'll also bull run too. I agree with the potentials of the top altcoins that you mentioned, especially Ethereum, which investors are tipping to make massive impact like Bitcoin. Although I've decided to put all my eggs in one basket in this bull run, it's only Bitcoin for me.
1294  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Two things I (we) noticed in the local board on: January 10, 2024, 06:52:58 PM
I reason with wetin Samlucky O, talk for dis matter, we need moderator and sub board for dis our local board, so dem go de help us to de moderate di board, if dem see post wey no make sense na to delete or move am to di appropriate board wey e belong. Also I notice say almost all di oda local boards get sub board, and if we also get am e go help to reduce di issues of where posts belong. Our ogas dem don address dis issue before, and e still de happen, most newbies no get experience of wetin dem suppose post, but gradually dem go de learn. For di second matter I believe say pidgin English no get dictionary, na free style slang, so make you just try to understand wetin di person de try talk about. Although di content of some people writing de very poor, weda na English or pidgin.
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is GRIN still a thing? on: January 10, 2024, 02:33:40 PM
Was this a result of poor marketing/promotion efforts? Or a lack of user experience?

Some of this can be lack of development, including lack of awareness across the cryptospace just as you already said..
Sincerely the name sound so strange to me I can't really recall if i have came across such project before or not, and maybe let just say people's attention has been shifted to the latest happening especially nowadays people are looking for a project that could give them some x value they wanted within the next few months. Nobody wants to invest in a project that is not giving them any profits moreover when investors already made their profits they ought to channel their efforts to other project that could possible give them triple of what they have invested IMO.

I'm likewise just hearing about the Grincoin, for the first time in this thread, guess it had it's glory days before I ventured into cryptocurrency business. I know that to be relevant in the crypto industry, a project has to be up and doing, probably be coming up with new innovations to capture new investor interests and retain the ones that they have. Members are likening it to Monero, I guess that they share the same features, but Monero, is clearly far ahead of Grincoin, I hope that it's developers will come up with something new because we need more top coins to make choices from in the crypto market.
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking! Bitcoin ETF approved by SEC. on: January 10, 2024, 01:46:44 PM
Doesn’t this look more like a planned thing for Manipulation? The account get hacked just few hours to when rumor has it that they will be a statement about it. This whole saga doesn’t just add up to me because whenever bitcoin does well a rumor like this suffices now it’s account hacking? SEC must really be having us on the balls.
So it could be an inside job, perhaps a group from the inside to test how the crypto community will react to the much awaited and anticipated news of Bitcoin ETF. One thing is certain now that it's a fake news, so where do we go from here and when are we looking at to hear the authentic news? I'm hoping that we're not hit by another fake news again.
1297  Economy / Economics / Re: How will the BRICS currency influence Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2024, 12:08:38 PM
So, we have seen a recent attempt by some of the BRICS nations to create their own currency to rival the US dollar in international trade. We know some countries that form part of this alliance, have been sanctioned and international transactions were blocked by SWIFT that are controlled by Western countries.

A lot of these countries started to use Crypto currencies like Bitcoin to bypass these restrictions, so it will be natural that less demand for Bitcoin would occur, once these countries created their own single currency.

What do you think will happen to Bitcoin, when these BRICS countries created their own digital currency? Will there be a significant drop in the demand for Bitcoin?

Do you think BRICS countries might opt to use Bitcoin for international trade or even as a replacement for the US Dollar? Will they simply exchange local currencies OR will they develop something new? ( Something that can be controlled by them?)

Let's discuss this...

Bitcoin is doing very well alongside the Existing powerful currencies like the US dollar, so if the BRICS nations were to create there own currency and perhaps reduce the use of Bitcoin, I don't think that it'll have any major impact on Bitcoin. Maybe for a short term but eventually Bitcoin will recover and pick up again, because it's only on the national levels that Bitcoin usage will be affected, but millions of their citizens can still go ahead in holding Bitcoin.

Remember that more people are being more aware of the potentials of Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency that gives them privacy in transactions and a valuable investment asset, so if a few drops Bitcoin and more adopts it, then it's a win for it.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 10, 2024, 11:18:29 AM
Profit strategy in gambling? This will only let most gamblers (I am talking about the beginners) to think that there are ways to earn money from gambling. I have looked for profit strategies in gamble in the past and I was gambling daily at the time but the losses were more. The only profit I made, maybe because I am gambling less and just going for one or two but not more than 3 games weekly.

There may be some profit strategy, I do not know but even if there are profit strategies, people should not think it will always work for them. It may be deceiving.

It's true, thinking about profit strategy in gambling can be deceptive to newbies who might actually think that gambling can be a sure source of income, where study of long term profit strategy is applicable. For me gambling is not that profitable to be able to determine how to manage a long term strategy for it's profitability, unless you're talking about how to manage a big win in the long run. People can hit the jackpot in gambling and win millions of dollars, if not managed well the gambler can surprisingly become poor in a short period of time, so I think that it's in such cases that the question of long term profitable strategies will be relevant.
1299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph has the worst price analysis articles on: January 10, 2024, 09:45:46 AM

Cointelgraph also always conclude their analysis with this or something like this:

Quote
This article does not contain investment advice or recommendations. Every investment and trading move involves risk, and readers should conduct their own research when making a decision.

Your post pretty much sums up the answer to this discussion, analysis are not facts, they're just intelligent arrangements and assumptions on ways to achieve favorable results, so I'm happy that in the end they let the reader to understand that they have to carry out their own research and make their decisions. I don't think that you can get a perfect analysis from anywhere about cryptocurrency because of the dynamics of the market, it is volatile and risky, so your perfect analysis can change before you enter the market.

You shouldn't be surprised if you see the same analytic flaws that you see in Cointelegraph, in other online crypto sites, so the best thing to de is gather information from different sources and perhaps sum up your own analysis

I'm my country banks operates with their customer transactions and loans based on interest rate and there has been no issues as far as I know. Although there was a time when the Muslim faitfulls in Nigeria, were advocating for Islamic banks, because of this collecting of interests on loans, but I don't know if the issue has been addressed because I've not heard of any Islamic banks yet. I believe that it'll be good to have Islamic banks to carter for the loan requirements of faithful Muslims, who will want to do loan transactions in line with their beliefs, also for none Muslims who will want to choose the none interest banking system. I however wonder how Islamic banks will make profit without collecting interests on loans, how do they pay their staff and run the bank?
