It depends.  You need space, and cheap electricity.   Your electricity rate really is the big deciding part.

I often wonder, for Americans you do understand for less than the cost of 1 dragon miner right now you can get va solar setup for 1 machine right? Stop basing your decisi8ons on the power company eliminate them teach them a lesson, get an off grid 1500 watt solar system for under 600 bucks, They are everywhere. If you were smart youd go on a place like ebay or craigslist and bvuy parts and put one together yourself for under 400 bucks. Use 1 solar system per machine, electricity problem solved Smiley Once you get big enough chargers and inverters run some extra batteries to cover overnight consumption and then buy your own power meter and pull the line that goes to your house out of your power companies meter and put it in your newly solar powered meter and wala, Now you have absolutely NO electric for anything in your whole home Smiley

That is just a lot of cost.   I am currently at over 11k watts for mining gear.  I have decent priced electricity.  To get solar just does not make sense.   For each one of those systems I can pay most of my electricity bill for a month.

I would love to, just hard to justify the initial price.  Also considering my electricity varies its hard.  During winter I am able to go bigger then during summer.   So I cannot justify it as long term.
12802  Other / MultiBit / Re: Help 6.35 BITCOINS STOLEN FROM MULTIBIT WALLET on: December 04, 2014, 01:47:57 AM
i had 6.35 btc in my multibit wallet at night

i started my multibit wallet in morning and saw that someone sent all 6.35 btc to

1BdwRVvYZdugZFmEZB1ipnViscEMQDMGhD

the current balance is 0 btc

i never sent the btc and do not know whose address is that

i checked it on blockchain and it had 52 confirmations but its showing as unspent

can someone tell a noob like me whether its stolen?

p.s. i had a computer crash as i unplugged my laptop without switching off...did it wipe out my btc or someone stole it

can i recover it somehow

It's not fun but if it was sent, it is gone.  Especially with confirmations it is gone.   You have to treat wallets like gold.

There is not a recovery, it is not like a credit card or bank.   I would scan for virus and malaware.  Chances are sadly you had something that took your wallet file.

I thought the ponzi thing was clever and funny. I liked the 'I have phenomenal ebooks' and that you website looks amazing

I think it was way to well typed out "joke".   Most will not find any type of scam funny, even if it was a joke.  I personally don't find it funny, but maybe that is just me.
12804  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Can we still mine from home? on: December 04, 2014, 12:55:30 AM
hi guys, im considering buying a 2TH s4 antminer in the coming weeks to mine at home, just wondering is this a good reliable machine to buy at $1299? i sort of worked it out that it would make 0.03 btc per day/24hrs. cheers

ps. my electric is VERY cheap  Cheesy

Get a coupon from someone on here.   400 dollars off S4's.
12805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 04, 2014, 12:15:16 AM
(saving space)

voltage 0775
using two power supply

Running!  Cheesy

Thank you! Are there any further higher hashrates anybody got?

Wow that is a impressive speed.  How many watts does it use to get in the mid 2T and more?   Are you able to take picture of two power supply unit?
12806  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 2 to Dec 15 diff thread. ( +0.15%) to (+0.92%) on: December 03, 2014, 10:47:49 PM
I wonder who swithched OFF ~30ph in basically one day. It plunged from 304 to 274PH.
Network was kind of weird in the last month or so-sudden surges followed by deep plunges in hashing speed.
I still stay by my conviction that it would pay for someone to purchase calls on bitcoin, then purchase hashing, switch it off and see a spike in bitcoin price soon afterwards. Rinse and repeat.

A large dragon farm?
A large s-2 farm?

Older bitfury farm?

A little of each?

You are right about someday we will see a bump from Dragon's going offline.   It's hard to tell when as most are in very cheap electricity places, but if done proper they do have a decent cooling cost.
12807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitmain Antminer S4 has Arrived. on: December 03, 2014, 09:59:50 PM
There is a manual on Bitmain's website.  Also they are very easy to set, if you know pool information.  Set it and almost forget it so easy.
12808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is a blockchain.info wallet in Tor browser secure? on: December 03, 2014, 12:58:25 PM
Yes if you use .onion address the real site cant be spoofed by an exit node

It still risks the exit node being able to see traffic (including sensitive data).   Tor is just had enough exploits I would be afraid to use it for logging into something important.

Going down a bit because of bad luck Estimated Next Difficulty: 40,035,797,928 (+0.07%)
Why don't u guys mod the sp20? atop of the fan make a cut for a second 12cm sucking fan. At the sides mount other 12cm fans... outside the case fans, but with screws to the case...

Because they say opening it up voids warranty.     So kinda not something you would do till warranty runs out.
12810  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 2 to Dec 15 diff thread. ( +0.15%) to (+0.92%) on: December 03, 2014, 07:38:12 AM
If we get a negative last time and a slow one this time it will be a dream on mining difficulty.  I agree we will see a little jump though.

yeah  .6 watt gear will sell to a lot of people. I have a 4k-5k power limit in my garage.

Thus sp20's downclocked to .55 watts are a natural upgrade for me from s-3's  I am not the only one.

With .1 electricity I could not justify changing yet.  I do admit I love my sp20.  Bitmain and SP are my favorite companies on current gen.  With winter have went over 11k watts currently used for mining.  Getting ready to rewire my computer network where I have access to 6 k watts or so more, doubt i use it but wiring networking in case so I could quickly expand.

yeah the second one came today. they do .55  and .56 downclocked to about 180 watts a pcie connector I use around 740 -760 watts and hash about 1330-1360 on each one.

so 1500 watts gives me 2680 gh.   I can run 6 or 7 of them the whole winter. very tempting to turn  to them rather then running 12 s-3's  lot more hash.

this may be my last in house miner.

so realistically how loud are they really.. would you say you can keep 6 sp20's in a spare upstairs bedroom?

Most likely a regular bedroom will not be wired electrical for 6.  And it depends if you use a underclock its much quieter, if letting stock it is quite loud.
12811  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit "DICE" 160Ghs Entry miner/blockchain personal lottery device on: December 03, 2014, 03:48:49 AM
Sleek looking miner.   Have you thought about a "special edition" white and have the dice dot's for numbers? Would be fun design.
12812  Economy / Services / Re: Silver Wallets Signature Campaign on: December 03, 2014, 03:46:11 AM
A great team here, cool looking signature and a great product.  I can't wait till I hit my gold silver wallet Smiley.  Thanks again to this campaign it is fun to do for a great product.
12813  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Add two or more signature campaigns in BCT account on: December 03, 2014, 03:30:42 AM
I think you will have trouble finding 2 campaigns that want to split the space.  Some allow you to put your BTC address on it is common, but that is about it.

As a campaign they normally do a good job of using most of the space they can, and extras depending on rank.

12815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are the disadvantage and advantage? on: December 03, 2014, 12:26:14 AM
For someone new bitcoin is easier to mine.  Easier to do a lot of the calculations.

Scrypt offers far more coins, but I would say is more difficult.  It is not quite as set it and forget as bitcoin mining.

Looks very nice.  Good job on guide.

Will you be testing their Scrypt or Zeus units?
12819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin wallet hacked on: December 02, 2014, 10:33:36 PM
Stop using that wallet.  Scan computer with virus, and malaware protection.

Make sure you find the problem before putting a new wallet on computer.
