12801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: October 20, 2020, 08:11:52 PM

Looks to be helpful for the diff

https://lolliedieb.medium.com/rise-of-the-mining-dead-ea8f6298f813

If there are 1,000,000 4gb cards mining on windows  doing

30,000,000 mh

they will drop to
18,000,000 mh by dec 21

the whole network is https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

267,000 gh or
267,000,000 mh

the real question is.  how much hash rate is 4gb cards
how much is 4gb on linux
how much is 4gb on windows.

if 267,000,000 mh is whole network

and 30,000,000 mh is windows 4gb
with 50,000,000 mh at linux 4gb

we are going to drop in hash
12802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: October 20, 2020, 06:00:52 PM
well so far I am okay at nicehash 49 a day = 1500 a month.

I got 3300 back so far
I spent 9750

so I am 6450 but at 1500 a month

4 months maybe 5 and I am  good

btw btc is near 12000 and most of my gear is still at nicehash.

A bump to 15 or 16k would help.

If 4gb gear drops off this could take off again.

If not I will sell off gpus. Huh
12803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 800kW of power and a greenhouse on: October 20, 2020, 05:50:26 PM

Got Co-generator* greenhouse operation powered by a 800kW caterpillar generator
Producing 6400MWH a year of electricity, heating and CO2 for a 8000square meter greenhouse.

Exploring options and potentials for coin mining and hardware.

initial idea is to go for litecoin

Would like to hear opinions here.

Many thanks!

*Cogeneration—also known as combined heat and power, distributed generation, or recycled energy—is the simultaneous production of two or more forms of energy from a single fuel source. Cogeneration power plants often operate at 50 to 70 percent higher efficiency rates than single-generation facilities.

so 6,400,000 kwatts in a year is  17534 kwatts a day or 730 kwatts an hour which makes sense with a 800kwatt generator.

Simplest question what is daily power cost for it?
How many spare kwatts of the 730 an hour can you spare?

if you found old ant miner l3+. and budget 1 kwatt an hour for them running 200 units seems easy.  200 x .5 = 100gh of hash which pays $120 a day
12804  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Some very 'bad' news on s19 shipments. on: October 20, 2020, 04:38:32 PM
We ordered 1 s19pro just to see what we think of them.

But it is a completely different order.

It would be nice if they took some paypal like they did last fall.

Update my spare psu's for my s17s , s17pros, t17s have shipped.

They were in "stock" when I paid for them Sept 17th

They shipped Oct 20th. the only saving grace is as of today all my gear is running and I do not need the spare psu's.
12805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: October 20, 2020, 12:58:30 PM
Looks like the wind has been pulled from the sails for DeFi. ETH blocks are down to about 2.5ETH in rewards and revenue is about 1/2 what it was 10 days ago, 1/3 what is was 20 days ago. Whoever bough a bunch of new hardware better be in it for the long haul.

I'm curious as to how hard RVN and ETC are going to get hit these next 2 weeks.

viabtc pays $ 0.0219 an mh or $1.09 a day per amd 5700 xt

so 24 x 135 = 3.2 kwatts at 10 cents or 32 cents power cost

1.09-.32= 77 cents a day

  77 dollars for 100 days
154 dollars for 200 days
231 dollars for 300 days
308 dollars for 400 days

at 10 cent power

at free power

109 dollars for 100 days
218 dollars for 200 days
327 dollars for 300 days
426 dollars for 400 days

so break even is about 300 - 400 days

now 4gb gear may drop off and help this to move to

200-300 days.

Or they did.

Hopefully but if they did they should not have had a problem weathering even a few years.

Or with hundreds of btc to their names they said fuck this shit. I am moving to costa rica.
12807  Other / Meta / Re: Is this plagiarism? on: October 20, 2020, 02:00:23 AM
7 days and still not banned for plagiarism? I think we should put a spotlight on it by reporting of several users so mods could take action to it. @philipma1957 also has a point, he's just repeating some facts but then again he clearly copied/pasted it which is the very definition of plagiarism. This user has 2 counts of violation, ban evasion and plagiarism, must be banned asap.

See he actually did not copy and paste what he did was update the facts so that they were still correct.

I earlier posted the "sky is blue"  It was indeed blue when I posted it. As it was a sunny day here in NJ when I posted it.

"The sky has stars "  would be me updating the facts as it is night time and stars can be seen in it.

To me I would not ban the poster for copy and paste.  As it is not copy and paste for the purpose of plagiasm.

It is simply a set of repeated facts that were actually corrected to reflect the current truth.

1) "BTC was started in 2009 it is now close to a year later  in 2010 and  2,628,000 coins are mined"

2) "BTC was started in 2009 it is close to  11+ years later 2020 and 18,521,768 coins are mined."

1 and 2 are facts I can honestly tell you the first one I wrote and used 50 x 144 x 365 = 2,628,000 to put the coin number in.

The second one I got from coinmarketcap but I can do the math to get the number more accurate on both of the above.

Both are facts with or without  me putting them up there.

They are not original thought. Yet not plagiarism

Better yet

 "I am 63 years old"   = a fact for philipma1957
"I am 64 years old"   = a fact for philipma1957 next year.   god willing

I am certain  you can find the line "I am 63 years old"  on the interent  and say I copied and pasted it.

Well I did not it just happens to be a fact for me that matches other sentences written in other places.
And I did a hopeful update to 2012 to show the change in the fact.

TO me the posts  in question look like that. It is slightly different animal then plagiarism  I think it is why the op asked if it is wrong.

But the ban evasion if true, then fuck the guy we don't need ban evaders.

12808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: October 20, 2020, 01:30:32 AM
put the rigs on ethermine for example and they should stop crashing.  I dont have anything on nicehash eth related anymore.  Now rigs are rock stable.

I moved a rig to viabtc so far it is very very very solid.
12809  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 19, 2020, 11:21:38 PM
Looks like 10k € is coming very soon.

Unless we Bart.

Indeed that’s a fact.
Always it’s coming soon-ish.
Unless we do Bart.

fuck bart and his shitty hair style!

12811  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: October 19, 2020, 07:42:54 PM
Could be.

All my air is profiteered before it enters the cold aisle.  < fuck spell check pre-filtered not profiteered
I don't over clock much (some s17pro's do turbo)

I suspect that clocking the s17pro past 65th = early death
I also suspect many clock over the safe limit.

My only poor 17 gear is 2x t17e and 2x t17+  all of which work well when down clocked.

12813  Other / Meta / Re: Is this plagiarism? on: October 19, 2020, 06:36:14 PM
Looks like a plagiarism, and should be banned. If not for that, then for ban evading. He has two previously banned accounts, and one more alt. Hopefully this will speed up the ban process.
<snip>
Good deal, and I'm hoping the mods wake up and take a look at the reports.  The example in the OP is certainly plagiarism (and idiotic in its quality as a post anyway), and if you combine that with evidence of ban evasion I see no reason why all the accounts involved shouldn't get nuked ASAP.

Sometimes mods are slow to act, but I always had the impression they were pretty quick when it came to plagiarism.  Who knows the reason for the delay, but I'd be willing to bet this'll get handled pretty quickly now.

This is a clean spam, although the spammer was able to edit parts of the contents, but it is still spamming. <snip> spamming and plagiaring.
Spam isn't the issue here.  Plagiarism is (and ban evasion too if Rikafip is correct).  Just do yourself a favor and stay away from topics you don't clearly understand.

The ban evasion pushes it over the top.

As for whether you think it is plagiarism or not this one is tricky.  I would say he is simply stating a fact.

If  I write the "sky is blue" I am repeating a fact.  That is not an act of plagiarism.

I would argue for the second post not be an act of plagiarism as much as it is repeating facts. But as I said the ban dodge is enough to ban this user.

I have read a lot of plagiarism accusations here on Bitcointalk.org and at least 10-15% are fact repetition which are not the same as plagiarism.

I think the idea that people see this one as plagiarism is an issue that has been hard for the forum to wrap its collective head around exactly what the act of plagiarism is.

Repeating well known facts don't call for quotes and credit. But my opinion is just that an opinion.
12814  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: October 19, 2020, 05:54:50 PM
No worries internet always sound too formal it is hard to show you are laughing or not angry.

2x t17e = not good for me. rescueed the 2 units with down clocked after market
2x t17+ = not good for me. Rescued the 2 units with down clocked after market

3x t17 = good zero issues
3 s17 = 1 dead psu fixed it yesterday 2 good.
15 s17pro = all good. normal some turbo some.

So 25 units all still working 1 repair part  quite good.

actually better then anything I owned since the bitmain s-3 which were the best gear built by bitmain for uptime.

To put it in perspective. Bitmain wrote apologies for the 17 series and here I am with an almost perfect record for the gear. It is funny.  I am also grateful.
12815  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: October 19, 2020, 03:10:27 PM
These 10 are the warehouse owners we put them in around November 2019 some do normal some do turbo if you look closely you can see they earned 2.2btc  since we installed them last year

counting coupons these are paid off as they cost about 17,000 usd and 2.2 btc = more then 23,000 usd

12816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: October 19, 2020, 02:35:57 PM
yeah i mine a rig with kapow because it has a 4gb cards and three 6gb cards.

it runs and runs and runs.

but my eth- nicehash-phoenix rigs crash. some won’t  reset without hard power off.
12817  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: October 19, 2020, 02:29:33 PM
A lot of us are pushing for this.  If we do ½ as good as dec 2017 price needs to be 30k.

diff was 1.7  edit it was 1.3
price was 20k
3000 watts earned 28th

diff is 19  this is 11x  edit  this factor is 14.6
if we go to 30k  that is 1.5x  edit  38k is 1.9x
3000 watts earns 100th   this is about 4x  so 1.5x times 4x is around 6x  which is about ½ the diff increase .  So 30k gets us to ½ the profits of 20k did in dec 2017  edit  1.9x 4 =7.6 which is a bit more then 52% as good as dec 2017 aah.  so 37-38k is ½ as good as dec 2017 at 20k

all top of my head math but close.

actually diff was 1.3 in dec 2017 so  we need to get closer to edit 37k-38k to be half as good as 2017 profits.

and 78k to be at 2017 dec profit margin.

you know when you look at those numbers 38k seems really pretty likely to happen lets hope so.

The rainy season in China is about to finish, thousands of S9s will go offline by the next diff adjustment, let's hope that drop won't be wiped by all the S19/S19 pro miners.

So far a very solid drop. 12% this is nice.
12818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: B250 Mining Expert No Display on: October 19, 2020, 01:22:36 PM
Ive tried resetting the cmos, ive booted the computer without the battery, removed it, everything, its definitely been reset, even tried different cmos batteries.

Ive tried with amd and nvidia cards directly in the x16 slot and the hdmi in the card doesnt work or the hdmi in the mobo also doesnt work.

Tried with different monitor and hdmi.

Tried with a different ram stick, ddr4 2400 from my rig using a h110 mobo. still didnt boot with that ram. tried it with both sticks in multi configs, still nothing.

Tried a different PSU with only power cables, ram, cpu and display and still nothing.

I feel ive tried everything.

Ive tried reseating the ram plenty of times too, literally everything.

P.S. The board is new from Newegg and the CPU is used but it came from a minidesk that works when i put the cpu back into the minidesk and fire that up it works fine so the cpu is working.
try with hdmi to vga adapter, i think the most stable output for mining is using vga output, but this MB doesnt come with it

and try using lowes ram speed, or using some gpus that have vga out. if no display again definetly rma is the only way

just advice gigabyte fintech 250 the most stable dedicated motherboard i ever used it,the output is vga & dvi, no hdmi output, its same price with asus

sometimes that works .

sometimes a display cable to the cpu and  dvi to the monitor.
or a display to hdmi cable
or a hdmi to dvi cable

I have basically every possible cable combo there is and sometime one will work.

I am thinking you have a dead mobo. but trying a few other cables could possibly work.

you are using windows 10?

but it sounds like it won't even post.
12819  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [USA] Antminer S17 pro for sale in USA, Georgia on: October 18, 2020, 11:59:24 PM
I grit my teeth when I see an offer like this. DO NOT buy miners that have been run in COLO's. I promise you these units were running 3rd party FW OC's and burning at redline on their racks. I KNOW THIS. They come to me to fix their shit so they can sell it to unsuspecting secondary buyers. Especially in Canada and the US. It will show up with "Stock FW" because they wiped it and re flashed it. I'm sure I know this COLO in Georgia. They OC the everloving shit out of their customer's units. The Customer does not even know it. They steal the customer's OC'd hash. He just gets paid on stock. People need to wake up to this. We're already seeing cooked S19's in my repairs. S17+'s are a disaster. COLO's are generally run by greedy idiots that have no scruples. Just greedy pigs. You've been warned.

Well I made a fair offer he declined it.

So I won’t  be buying this gear.

my micro bit has been meh.
my avalon has been meh
my innosilcion has been meh

my bitmain s17 t17 s17 pro s17+ really good.
my t17+
my t17e. so so.

we are on to next gen.
all of which worry me.

the s19 pro is a 3300 watt unit.
the microbit are 3300 watt units.

not a fan of that much power draw.

I can add a lot more gear. I have the power. I dont have confidence in the sellers.

This new gen gear locks you into specific power supplies. I dont like that.
