12841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ethereum Mist not being developed anymore? on: January 14, 2016, 01:26:49 PM
Because Ethereum is going down.  Stay away.  If you want a winner buy NXT.
12842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum has run dry on funds on: January 14, 2016, 01:25:25 PM

There is nothing wrong with FUD in of itself.. your infering some cliche'd shitcoin retort as though it means something..

All i see on that is NEWS.

Crying FUD ?

A dev leaving a project could very well warrant Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
Who should it -NOT- ?

Anyone in crypto that cries FUD is a fucking idiot.

period .

Try seeing the context of things as well as seeing clearly what your actually looking at.

tokeweed i have watched you zip around here being a cheerleader for ETH
which is fine but please do post intelligent comments i know you are capable of rather than FUD babble.

Bitcointalk.. crying FUD for bucks $$$
easiest money in human history.

Yeah, you're right.  I'm sorry.  Definitely stay away from ETH.
12843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Motorola, NXT is Apple on: January 14, 2016, 07:54:41 AM
NXT is a closed circle of owners pumping it, trying to lure in newbs to dump on. Also PoS is insecure, just look at vericoin bahahaha.

Not to mention the premine. Some of the features are innovative, but they have been and will be adopted into real crypto not premined pump and dump circle jerk coin

Not a bad thing if you bought at the lows.  Wink

I say pump it some more.  Grin
12844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Motorola, NXT is Apple on: January 14, 2016, 03:05:21 AM
apple is only marketing, mobile that cost a lot and has nothing more than an another mobile that cost even less

Lol.  Ok.
12845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum has run dry on funds on: January 13, 2016, 04:40:23 AM

It's nothing really.  It's the usual fud that goes around here.

Enjoy  Cool

"Solving Bitcoin's Centralization: NXT vs Clam"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMZqnbtzXOI

Summary: Bitcoin failed to remain decentralised due to it's proof of work design. Proof of stake is biggest innovation in crypto since invention of bitcoin. NXT and Clams are great POS coins but for very different reasons with very different risks. Now that altcoins are at an all time low these are great buys in my opinion.

If so, then what's your opinion on PPC?  And will it traction in the future?
12847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Motorola, NXT is Apple on: January 13, 2016, 12:36:15 AM
Bitcoin is Motorola, NXT is Apple

Lol.  Who's your Steve Jobs then?  That person was the main catalyst for Apple's success.  If not for him going back to save the company, it would have surely gone bankrupt.

But if you mean just the tech, again Lol.  Not a good analogy.
12848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum has run dry on funds on: January 13, 2016, 12:12:41 AM

He quit working on Ethereum to develop a project on Ethereum.  It's gonna be awesome.
12849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is NXT not the number 2 coin? on: January 10, 2016, 07:08:30 AM
I'm sorry to say that from a spectator's POV, I think NXT is losing the battle now that there's wider and bigger potential and possibilites on other platforms like Ethereum.
I hear a lot about Ethereum. What does it actually do... now?

Two of the projects I'm interested that are being built on Ethereum are slock.it and Augur.  There are a few more.  Check them out.
12850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: January 10, 2016, 07:04:33 AM
Looks like ethereum prices are gradually increasing while bitcoin is stagnant.

That's a good thing if your main goal is to trade back and forth and using BTC as your base currency.

I could be wrong though.  We'll see.
12852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy Has Moved Out of Their Building Unannounced, Nowhere to be Found? on: January 09, 2016, 02:01:05 PM
Is there anyone who still trusts Cryptsy at this point? Why are we still talking about them?

Because they still have millions in customer funds.

People who have funds there should contact a lawyer. I don't think posting about it on this forum will help.

Of course it can.  It will make people aware of the situation.

12853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Sub Fans... Time to Let Go of Your Altcoin and Buy Bitcoin on: January 09, 2016, 02:27:57 AM

12854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Altcoin Community to Join on: January 08, 2016, 01:56:22 PM
if you got skills and passion
Expanse, 420 coins, NXT, UNO, XEM, XCR, EMC, BATA

avoid XMR, ETH, DASH, LTC, BTC ... too much drama plus they are already well staffed

Lol.  Ok.  Good advice.  Grin
12855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares scam2.0, Still scamming on: January 08, 2016, 08:33:57 AM
Quot fudding guys..  You just made the Larimers themselves dump their coins!

12856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Altcoin Community to Join on: January 08, 2016, 08:27:06 AM
I want to find am Altcoin community I can get plugged into. Figured I would let you guys make some suggestions. I want to join a community that has a dedicated members, but more importantly, one that resonates with my personal values/interests. Here are the basics:

* Early 30's software engineer, live on the east coast.
* I am politically Libertarian.
* Things that aggravate me: Oppressive Governments, Sovereign Debt, Drug War, Reality TV
* Things that interest me: Emerging Markets, Rural Sustainability, Urban Sustainability, Efficiency, Economics, Investing, Stoner Metal, 70's Country, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Metalocalypse
* Former linux hack who would love a good reason to get back into the weeds with an open source project (life gets in the way these days).

By plugged-in, I would like to start doing development and evangelism to grow the community. Start your pitches.

12857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network on Stellar on: January 07, 2016, 01:15:21 PM
The bitcoin on Stellar will have to be backed by some institution. So it will be a safe as putting it in coinbase or wherever. But yeah the transactions will be off of the blockchain so will reduce pressure.

"backed by some institution" doesn't sound trustless to me.

It's not.  You have to trust an institution aka a gateway in Stellar.
12858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Digital Currency Exchange Cryptsy Suspends Trading on: January 07, 2016, 03:37:59 AM
Because

1.  People don't have coins there.

2.  People who do, do not want to cause panic to get a better chance to withdraw their coins.

How many validating nodes total are there in Stellar?  And how many of them are run independently from the Stellar Foundation.

Here's a list of (known) validator nodes: https://github.com/stellar/docs/blob/master/validators.md
None of them are run by Stellar.org. (We do run a couple nodes recording and saving network history, just FYI).

Ok.  Thanks.
